Not expecting authentic Chinese food but it still falls short of expectation of good American Chinese. The dishes taste the same from the same sauce and very salty. Portion is ok for a second meal but not huge as previous reviews stated.

Strictly a takeout place. There are a few chairs for you to wait for your order but no table. Tucked away behind goodwill and aldi. Next to the ups store. Ordered the vegetable lo mein with tofu added, charged me $ 1 extra for the tofu, expected. Got the large, which came out to be close to $ 11. Now, the portion really is quite large, but if this is your first time here, don’t make the mistake of getting a large like me, if you don’t like it, then you end up with a lot of left overs. The noodle was too soggy for my taste, it’s the same noodle as the noodle used in pan fries noodles, not the thick lo mein noodle. My vegetables were overcooked. Tofu was good but not crispy because drenched in sauce. It’s like a garlic corn starch based sauce not soy sauce. It took 15 – 20 min for my takeout which is longer than most takeout places.

Got two entrees that should have tasted different from each other but regrettably ended up tasting like the same sauce. :-(

This is a little out of the way for carry our for me but we wanted to try something new. First thing, potions are huge. I had three meals our of leftovers from two dishes. Second the flavor was spot on of the Singapore Noodles. It was a little skimpy on the chicken/shrimp but it had a nice spice level and was very good. Quick service and doing a steady carry out business. We will try again.

This being a small carry out, I can’t say they are always consistent. We have had a couple of quality/billing problems in the past. One time, my wife put in the order, and during the process canceled one of the items and replaced it with another item. It turns out, she was charged for the canceled item anyway. Now, if that was me, I would probably forget about it, but my wife called Jun Ho, and they promised to take care of it in the next order, which they did follow through on. So, there are some negative reviews here because of some issues, but I think those issues go with the territory when you are dealing with a small mom & pop business like Jun Ho. The food quality, most of the times, is exceptional here. The fried rice(Jun Ho special fried rice), in my opinion, can go toe to toe with some of the best fried rices I had in Chinatown. We always get that when we put in orders. I can’t say I have tried everything on the menu, but what we have tried(Egg Fuyung, Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, Chop Suey, Chicken Lomein, Orange Beef, plus some others I can’t remember), I would say 9 out 10 have been very good. As some folks have mentioned, surprising to find a place like this in the far out suburb like Mundelein. For your reference, we have ordered from Jun Ho maybe once every two or three weeks for the last several years.

We have been searching for a good Chinese restaurant in the area. We found it! But please note that the portions are large!

I’m torn about Jun Ho. We ordered from them last night, Mongolian Beef and General Tao’s Chicken, plus two egg rolls — for $ 33! Yow! And this is carry-out, not dine-in. Ok, so we said maybe it’ll be worth it. Turns out it most certainly was not. The Mongolian Beef was pretty good, not great, but pretty good(I’ve had better, in Kentucky no less). The General Tao’s chicken? Really disappointing. It wasn’t General Tao’s — it was weak sweet and sour chicken, just no pineapple and such. It wasn’t spicy, as advertised, too. For the price, it should’ve at least been in the same ballpark as General Tao’s and not something else altogether. To be fair, the food was made fairly well, not overly greasy, veggies were good too — no complaints in that area, I suppose. I guess I’ve learned my lesson — stick with the regular Chinese restaurant instead of trying something new.

I would love to write a good review… but unfortunately am unable to. #1 when I arrived to pick up my order(order of egg rolls, small sweet and sour chicken and small shrimp fried rice) the gentleman at the front desk whom also appeared to be the chef cursed as he realized he forgot to make the egg rolls. No worries… I really wasn’t upset at all and didn’t mind waiting. I asked if he could please also add on an order of crab rangoon. #2 when he finished the egg rolls and rangoon and rang me up, the total came to just about $ 28! I was shocked, but paid off. I knew it would be pricey but just wasn’t expecting it to be quite that much. When I got home I added all of my items up myself and got a total of $ 21. Ummm $ 7 for tax? I don’t think so. Ugh. #3. The food. Kicking myself for adding on the rangoon… it just wasn’t good. The filing in the 4 rangons was a strange, not good flavor. The egg rolls, which I was very excited about were a huge disappointment. They were large, and sealed with peanut butter, but without allergies that’s not a problem for me. The problem was that the egg roll filing was like mush mixed with peanut butter. It didn’t appear to have anything fresh in it. The shrimp fried rice was the best part of my order. It was very good! The sweet and sour chicken was okay. Not bad… not great. Sauce with a lot of pineapple, one piece of tomato and one piece of green pepper. Again, lacking in the fresh compartment. Was the food edible… yes I suppose so. But it was too expensive for what it was. Would I go back there again? No, probably not.

Love, Love this place! The owner is always friendly and polite, placing an order is quick and easy, and the food is always ready when promised! Some of the best ‘merican Chinese food I’ve ever had, if not THE best! Dont tell anyone, but one of my favorite comfort foods is egg foo young, and they make the best Ive ever had, the portions are huge, a small order is two large servings, easily shareable or another meal, and everything I have tried is fresh and deeeeeeeeeelicous!!!

I know, I know — Chinese takeout in a nondescript suburban strip mall gets FIVE stars!!! Yep, seriously. Best Chinese takeout we’ve ever had. Close to the best Chinese food we’ve ever had, period. The owner is super-nice, the portions are huge, quality and seasoning top notch. Worth the drive!

Jun Ho — Mistake #1) They took my order for Crab Rangoon, Shrimp Fried Rice and Egg Roles. After driving there in the rain they tell me that they ran out of Crab Rangoon. Mistake #2) Since they ran out of CR I decided to double my order of Vegetarian Egg Roles. They were terrible and will end up in the garbage. Mistake #3) Listening to the good reviews. The Shrimp Fried rice was barely okay. The shrimp were as small as they get.

I just moved into the area and I am thrilled to know we live next to some delicious Chinese Take-out. The eggrolls are among the best I’ve ever tasted. And as some other reviewers have noted, there are some large portions given. I can’t wait to try more of the menu!

Today we listened to the reviews below and we placed an order. I was not disappointed. The food was very tasty. We ordered veggie egg roles and they were very good. If you like hot mustard request extra. They only gave one. Then we ordered crab Rangoon and it was amazing. They were cream cheesy and they were full! We ordered a small cashew chicken and kung pao pork. Cashew chicken was packed with veggies, huge cashews and tasted so good! The kung pao pork was good but could’ve been spicier. Both were also really delicious. Also the portions are what you would expect when ordering Chinese food. I will be ordering from here again and again.

Very pleasantly surprised!!! Crab Rangoon was stellar. Lo mein noodles were great. cashew shrimp and chicken were solid. Egg rolls were good… sweet and sour sauce that went with them kicked butt!!! I heard the mongolian beef didn’t have much flavor to it, but other than that, we were shocked to find such tasty chinese food in Mundelein. Will absolutley return!!!

We gave up on good Chinese food after Kong Ming in Lake Zurich turned«express». Never the same after that. Tried Jun Ho and wow! My husband had the garlic chicken lo mein and I had the vegetable lo mein. Both very good. Chicken and veggies done perfectly. Tasty! The beef fried rice was also very good. The vegetable egg rolls were delicious but a bit salty. Very crispy though, which is perfect for me. The portions are unbelievable! What they call«large» is equal to two large orders from any other place. We had so much left overs, equal to 3 – 4 meals! Jun Ho is priced right! All in all a great meal. Definitely making this our regular place!

I love Chinese food and unfortunately for me, moving to the Northwest Suburbs has left me feeling that I had moved into a black hole where decent Chinese food didn’t exist. Fortunately, I was wrong! Jun ho has pretty delicious take out. I haven’t tried too many different things yet, but their Mongolian Beef is delicious, starting with some quality beef stir fried to be tender, not overcooked. Also tried egg rolls and General Yau’s chicken, both really good. I had almost given up on any NW suburban Chinese food being any better than Panda express, but luckily this a way better alternative.

Delicious! Egg Rolls are made fresh, the owner is so nice. Maybe cause he’s my dad, who knows, but if you want good chinese food, head here, he uses only the best quality meats and everything is delicious! Look for the coupons! Also try the Yen Yen Restaurants in Buffalo Grove or Hen Wing!
