This place rocks, It is a real cool experience to watch your meal cook not 5 feet away.

This place is awesome. The 8 seats don’t quite cover the intense interest in this place, but the wait is so worth it. Pad Thai is great, spouse loves the yellow curry, their brown rice is great, and a great option, won ton soup great, shrimp/prawn appetizer excellent. Take out is also a good option, but this place shouldn’t be missed.

The food is still 5++ stars but the dining experience has gone down a star. Hours are way cut back and even then not always open when they say they are open. We used to go once a week and haven’t been in a couple months. We tried to order to go for dinner and they never answered the phone. Don’t make it a big overblown restaurant, but lets make it work because we love the food!

Wow. I was getting tired of driving in the pouring rain, and was hungry. Figured I’d find something in MV to eat. Think old time breakfast style diner, sit at counter and talk with your neighbor kind of place. Friendly service and s $ 9.50 lunch special. Choice of brown rice too. And most people will find two stars plenty hot for them. So pull off that freeway and head here for s fantastic lunch!

I don’t think I’ve written a review for anywhere deserving of 5 Stars yet… Rachawadee is certainly a diamond in the rough! Located off Mount Vernon’s main downtown passage(1st Street) on Gates, it’s not exactly someplace you’d see from the street and think, «wow, that place is going to have awesome food.» Quite the opposite, in my opinion. But, after hearing SOMANY good things, I stopped in and seriously couldn’t be happier that I did. It’s definitely what you’d consider a «hole-in-the-wall», long and narrow with a lunch counter and built-in stools. You may not get seats together and it’s not a place to venture with more than a couple folks unless you go early or late, avoid the 11 – 1:30 window if there’s more than two of you. They typically have three lunch specials, and they’re all worth it. Less expensive than ordering from them menu by a few bucks, and you get a little phad thai and salad with whichever lunch-portion entrée you choose. Yesterday it was Green Curry, Garlic Chicken and something with tofu that I ignored. I ended up ordering Phad See Mao and didn’t regret it. Super fresh ingredients are prepped in front of you, then cooked to order at one end of the kitchen. Careful on the spicy factor though… this joint has peppers that are molten lava. They only do a 1 – 4 scale, and that’s plenty. Anywhere else, I get a 2 and a spice rack. Here, I get a 1 and it’s damn spicy. A 2 would be inedible for my palate. So. Good.

Small diner that is always full, no wonder why. Great food. Fast and you can see them make it fresh. I had the swimming Rama and loved the peanut sauce. Curries looked yummy.

This place is amazing. Went on a recommendation from a co-workers father in law. It’s tight for seating maybe 10 spots all at the counter. I had the Penang curry and it was excellent. I will say this is more than likely the best Thai food I have ever had in my life. It seems like they thrive on carry out orders. I also had the Thai iced coffee which was delicious. The place is literally a hole in the wall. I feel lucky to have discovered this place.

I have nothing but good to say about this place. Fair warning there stars rating for spiciness is high I usually can have a 4 but here I can only have it too. The proportions you get are definitely worth your money my favorite is Pad Thai and peanut sauce with tofu added to it, and don’t forget the Thai tea.

Deducted one star, reluctantly, only because the café is too small. Panang curry is out of this world. Phad thai noodles are the freshest I’ve ever eaten. Peppers are super hot, so deduct at least one star for heat

I ate here last night with my daughter, and can’t stop thinking about how good it was. Love the service and the small diner atmosphere. I think I will go back today

Authentic Thai place in Skagit valley. I’ve had a lot of good thai food elsewhere, but for Skagit valley standards, I’d definitely give it 5 stars for the food. The restaurant is small and closed many times without notice. Hopefully they can be more flexible with the hours. One tip is don’t order Pad Thai as it’s tomato based. The curries, rice and noodle dishes are good.

When this place is open don’t get me wrong it’s really good thai food BUT seems like it is so hit and miss lately. They are no longer open on Saturdays. We have also stopped in a couple of times during the week only to find that they are closed. Really??? Not impressed at all. Seems to be going downhill!

Havent eaten here in a while because they have unpredictable days and hours. Unilocal says they are open tonight, however called 10 times and no answer. the last time I got take out it was a 1 hour and 15 minute wait. I was told it would be 40, minutes and I had to wait an additional 35 minutes as they hadn’t even started my order when I arrived. bummed about this place as I ate here about once a week… super disappointing!

Don’t miss this spot! Easily found by the red awning outside the building. step inside and there’s a row of about 10 – 12 seats and an aisle to stand in if you’ve ordered pickup. The menu is short and to the point, and they will warn you ahead of time they’re spices are much spicier than other places. heed their warning! Great food and you get a show when you sit to eat. the chefs work in a corner of the room and the staff is always happy to make you happy! Great place to eat! Good bang for your buck!

Exceptional Thai food. It’s just that simple to review in one sentence. That being said, Rachawadee Café has awesome service in a small setting with an exclusive feel to it if you’re one of the lucky few to get a seat during lunchtime. If so, be prepared to watch with delight as your meal is prepared right in front of you. If you’re on the run, their take out is an easy option too. As a local, it’s common to run into friends and old acquaintances coming and going. When it happens, this great Thai food is the topic of conversation. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

I’m so glad to find this little hole-in-the-wall place during my stay in Mt Vernon. The restaurant is small with mostly bar seating, though it’s a pretty fun experience sitting there and watching them cooking. We ordered Pad Thai, red curry chicken, and tom yum soup. Curry and soup came out great. But my favorite was the pad thai, it was outstanding, authentic, and definitely the best I’ve had so far(who knows how many hundreds of different pad thai I tried). The waiter was really friendly, helping us decide the spice level that’s appropriate to us as we’re new to the restaurant, and his recommendation made this dish perfect to my taste. If I ever go back to the area again I’ll go back there for sure!

Ruined, I am completely ruined after coming here. I’ve been to thai house MV, every Thai restaurant in Bellingham, and countless others from Vancouver BC to Portland OR and this is the best Thai Restaurant bar none. I came before what I though would be the lunch rush considering they only have 9 seats(11:45) but it was plenty packed. I stuck with my thai food staple of pad Thai and had high expectations after consulting numerous friends and just reading the reviews. Holy deliciousness, PERFECT balance of sweet, salty, sour, and salty. Thin rice noodles with the perfect amount of bean sprouts and tender chicken. OMG, just try it, you’ll never be able to eat Pad Thai anywhere else again… and yes, true Thai spice levels, I can handle heat but 3 stars was pushing it, very spicy!

Gotta try it. Teeny place with 9 bar stools, and if you arrive during the heat of dinner\lunch expect to wait or order to go. Highlights: okay, take your last best Thai experience… Now multiple that by at least 3… –watching your own plate be prepared is super wonderful and satisfying when set in front of you. –super spicy peppers here. I once watched a man order a ‘10’ star because ‘other places can’t bring the heat’ and he cried. No joke. be aware. –May get hooked on one dish until you try another-now that one is your favorite. Ultimate Thai cravings stem from the spicy green beans, and pad kee mao, also the 3 muskateer friend rice is the ultimate. The red rice they serve here is fantastic…(It’s true… Whenever I want Thai food. This is the flavor standard my taste buds are looking for.) Good luck on seating and enjoy!

Literally the best Thai food I’ve ever had. After having tried out Rachawadee other Thai food places just don’t compare anymore. For a really small restaurant the food is very fresh, the atmosphere is clean, and service is friendly. I’ve never been much of a pad thai fan but ever since I tried it here I come back for it every time. Some places make theirs too sweet and some too sour but this place hits the nail right on the head with their flavors. Careful when ordering the spiciness tho, they use true Thai levels of heat. I’m a person that usually orders a 4⁄5 stars at other places find two stars here pretty spicy. This place is a must go and you must have their pad thai and kee-mow.
