Friends been telling me that this place is okay. Under new management at least. I gave it a try. For my sons 3rd bday celebration ordered 3 days in advance. Long story short… i arrived home without checking order. They missed 2 orders but billed me on it. I called and manager says in 10 mins it will be ready. The night ended me not noticing the flavor of chicken wings. When i ask my wife. Its buffalo, which i ordered bbq. Also the pepperoni pizza i ordered is just cheese pizza instead. I dont know how i can recommend u guys. Pls verify orders. The latter concerns i didnt bring up anymore. The hustle of driving and guests are done eating.

Came to chicago for memorial day weekend from Phoenix AZ. We stopped at this restaurant to try their famous Deep dish spinach pizza. We order garlic bread sticks and also their mix plater that was good. But when the deep dish pizza arrived it wasnt to our expectations at all, it was mushy, too much sauce less cheese and it was suppose to be spinach there wasn’t much spinach there. The waitress was very nice and polite I have no complain for her. She did her job nicely. Service is very slow too, for our pizza to be delivered took them 55 minutes

Came here to try the famous chicago style deep dish pizza and ordered the pizza to go. The store had a pretty good location with a decent amount of parking space for customers. The pizza was simply delicous. It was jam-packed with cheese, pepperoni, and spinach, sausage. It is truly filling and left no room for anything else to be eaten. We literally had to take a nap after eating 3 boxes. It was simply that filling. One con would be when we were sitting in the car the oil from the pizza began to leak and it was pretty painful.

I give one star because zero isn’t an option. I hope whoever owns this joint reads these reviews because we actually dealt with a manager and it was a nightmare. Ordered our food for delivery, never came. We actually DROVE to the location, they said it was«almost ready» when it was already 20 minutes late. We tried calling first, no one was answering the phones. Then, while my husband is at the location and they are telling him it’s almost ready, they show up at my door 15 minutes later with the food. While I’m standing there the manager calls and tells him not to give me the food and bring it back to the store… are you kidding me?! This is not the first problem we have had with this location. It’s awful. Avoid at all costs. UPDATE: We ordered our food at 8:34, it arrived at our house at 10:35. It took 2 hours. AND it was cold after being sent out for delivery, brought to our house, taken back to the restaurant and then sent back out…

SLOW!!! If you want Giordano’s, go to the downtown Chicago location. This place is horribly slow. Come on management — hire more people and keep up on proper staffing numbers!!! Management — You are giving a bad name to Giordano’s. The only good thing is they gave us two of three pizzas we ordered for free.

They get 1 star because 0 isn’t an option! Ever since they changed owners or what ever happened within the last year their pizza has been garbage! I’ve been coming here for years! I would come home from the army and eat here as my first meal because I couldn’t wait to eat their pizza. Then they get closed down and reopen again. My wife and I ate here about 5 – 6 months ago as we were craving our favorite pizza! The pizza tastes different and not the same what so ever. Then we order their pizza again last night as I had a friend come in town and wanted to try this famous Chicago style pizza! First of all, there was so much cheese the grease soaked through the whole box and spilled in my car. Now don’t get me wrong, I love cheese and think it’s crucial on a pizza. But there was more cheese than the thickness of the crust! The crust was thinner than a thin crust pizza and this was supposedly their«deep dish» pizza. So after not being able to finish it last night due to 10 pounds of cheese, I decided to bring it back to ask if this was in the norm. The manager clearly stated that it wasn’t and they haven’t changed anything and it could’ve been just this one. I stared at him wondering if something was going to be done and he didn’t seem to care about my issue at all. They just lost 2, 10+ years customers here. I’ll never come back here again! This is twice they’ve messed up their pizza and twice I’ve brought it to their attention and they looked at us like we were retarded. I know this may sound petty but I’ve praised giordanos to EVERYONE out of IL and I looked like an idiot to my buddy from Cali and he stated this was the worst pizza he’s ever had. Good to know! Bye Giordanos! I’ll give Lou Malnatis my money since you guys don’t seem to care anymore about product and only money. Update: I Was told I’d get a gift card for my inconvenience 3 weeks ago, the manager from the store actually emailed me and asked me for my info, still I received nothing! As this restaurant made their food taste like the last time I was there. Will never go back again!

I have been eat in this chain many times(both sit-in and take-out) for their famous Chicago style deep dish, although the experience is getting worse every time. Sometime dough or crust were still quite soft(maybe have too many topping and sauce on it, but tried another deep dish in Chi-town, no issue there). With a few sit-ins my friend and I have to wait long time to get seated or serviced, so only would try take-out now.

Stick to carryout ONLY. Some of the worst service I’ve ever had 4 times in a row. There won’t be a 5th try. Waitress’s are slow and rude. They look and act like they want nothing to do with this job and rush you to order only to never come back. I don’t get how a franchise this big can’t hire competent staff! Pizza is good and the bus boys were the only ones deserving of a tip. They better fire everyone and start over or when Morretti’s opens in the fall they are done.

I called in to place an order and was given a time frame of 20 – 30 minutes for my order to be picked up. I was running very short of time and asked the gentleman taking my order if there was any way my order might be expedited and the gentleman said he would try, which I thanked him for. I arrived 20 minutes later to pick up my order. I was asked to pay for my order, while doing this I notice the 2 cooks in the kitchen standing there watching videos on a cell phone in the kitchen over some pizzas that are sitting on the table. Turns out I still had to wait another 20 minutes for my order! I had to leave without my order and they had already charged my card! I called and asked for the manager, someone by the name of «Pete» identifies himself as the manager and sounded so unprofessional. Well talk about adding INSULTTOINJURY!!! «Pete» seems to be a poor excuse for a manager. DONOTPATRONIZETHISBUSINESS. I have read the other reviews and comments for this facility and they are terrible reviews. Apparently this facility has been closed down many times in the past. Our party of 7 came in around 6:30pm on a Saturday night. It wasn’t particularly busy when our server came around and took our drink orders. We all ordered sodas and they came relatively quick. We ordered our thin crust and deep dish pizzas and I specifically asked for the thin to be cooked well done. Our server walked away and that’s when everything went down hill. After I noticed a few of us had finished our drinks, I looked around for our server for several minutes and he was nowhere to be seen. Some of us decided to order cocktails, so after another 5 minutes went by, I got up to flag him down when I was met with one of the managers, a tall fellow with an accent. He asked if he could help me so I told him our server hasn’t been around and we needed refills as well as cocktails. Our server came, took our drink orders and walked away. About 5 minutes later, 2 of our specialty drinks came out and my friend who ordered a Jameson and Coke waited patiently for his. After nearly 10 minutes I got up AGAIN and found the same manager. I asked if our wait was due to our inexperienced server or the bartender being backed up. He said the server. My friend’s drink came out shortly after that, with a different server who was now appointed to take care of us. My friend took ONESIP and realized it wasn’t Jameson so HE got up and went to the bar. Apparently they don’t even carry Jameson. Uh… wouldn’t you check with the customer first before making a drink with a substitute?!? The server brought out our pizzas, the deep dish was well done, not my thin crust! I ordered another LSD lemonade and they didn’t put in the blueberry syrup. When we asked for the check, we asked that the cocktails be put on separate checks. I attempted to pay for my 2 LSDs when another employee came up to me and said I couldn’t pay cash. WHAT?!? He tried explaining that his manager wouldn’t allow it. Then walked away. Our server(the 2nd one) came back, rolled his eyes, and said don’t worry about it. It was a miscommunication. Looong story short… save your money and go somewhere else. The only positive thing I have to say about this particular establishment is that manager who tried to make our visit better. He was very apologetic and rushed to make changes. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name as we were rushing to get out of there.

I have had problems with delivery from this location a few times now. Most recently, I ordered a pizza for delivery and was quoted a 35 minute wait time. After an hour with no delivery, I called to inquire about my order status. The person on the phone told me the order was for pick-up, despite the fact that I clearly said delivery and the person asked for my address when I ordered. They said they would send a driver out with my order. When the driver arrived, he handed me two receipts. One receipt had the charge on my credit card I made over the phone. The second receipt was for $ 4, which the driver explained was for the delivery. So not only did they mess up my order and make me wait for a pizza that was now cold, but they also expected me to pay more upon delivery. Horrible customer service, and zero apology for the inconvenience.

Two pasta orders = 90 minute quoted delivery time. I live one mile from the restaurant. Fine, I’m not in a hurry. When I call, 20 minutes after the delivery window has expired, the manager asks me what my problem is. It’s now 30 minutes after delivery window and food is just arriving. No apology. No offer to make things right. No explanation. What’s my problem? My problem is a basic and fundamental lack of customer service or respect. I had read mixed to negative reviews about this location. Turns out they are 100% accurate in my experience. Save your money and patronize businesses that don’t treat their customers like inconveniences. PS: garlic bread arrived cold.

To compare Giordano’s with Lou’s or another deep dish pizza would be comparing apples to oranges– though both pizzas, both are also very different. Pizza was good. Crust was a little vanilla. Default= tons of cheese, little red sauce. I compare it more bosco sticks.

How could dinner at 5pm go so wrong? The ratings are accurate. This is place is the pits. It took 20 minutes to get water and someone to take our order. It took 70 minutes from the tine we ordered to get a small pizza and even then, the wrong pizza was brought to our table. Luckily, we did not dig in as soon as it arrived because everyone’s order had not arrived. 3 – 5 minutes later, the server, Anastasia stopped back not to bring the other food, but to say she brought us the wrong pizza. She took it back, of course and gave it to the other table. A few minutes more passed before«our» pizza arrived still without the rest of the food. After waiting minutes or more, we were convinced to start eating the pizza before before the others food arrived to avoid eating it cold. The pizza was very cheesy which I liked but the veggies on the pizza were the largest veggies I have ever witnessed on pizza. Too big. :/ Nothing was done without being asked. We had to ask for refills when glasses were visibly empty. And even then, it took ten minutes longer for water. There was never any apology or recognition of the poor service provided, which made the experience all the more disappointing. Had it not been for 80plus year olds dining with us, we would have long left.

I wish I could give less than one star for the«new management» that has taken over this company. I will describe my entire experience(with pictures as well) to show why you should not spend your hard earned money. The young man that greets you is leaning against a podium while looking at his phone. He doesn’t ask how many are in your party(just two of us), and just seats us with no words. Our waitress takes roughly 5 – 7 minutes to get a drink order, and has no idea of what beers are on tap or what seasonal items they have. By coming back and telling me what’s on the menu is insinuating that I cannot read, which I obviously can. I ordered the wrong bread, and had asked if we could just add cheese to it, but she had to «confirm» that it was even possible. We hadn’t even touched it. Put it in the microwave damnit. She was beyond terrible, as she would come back every 3 minutes and ask if we were ok, and not even ask us about a drink. We were also served water when we sat down that was pretty cold, but had no ice in it. Makes you wonder how long this cup has been sitting… Our food can be described in one word: horrific. Flavorless dough, canned sauce from what it tasted as, $ 2.00 for about 8 jalepeños on top, and a change in cheese type. It was terrible. This item made me almost become almost irate. 2 – 3 women servers(pictures included here) were just sitting with these random guys. They were talking, drinking, and sitting with them while ignoring the restaurant. One other item that didn’t affect me directly was what happened at the table next to us. The party had moved due to a baseball game on the tv, and they couldn’t see it. The busser came in around 2 minutes after they left, and had asked the server, «Do they want their waters?» He replied that he was sure, and yet the busser picked them up and took them to the party. He doesn’t know who’s cup belongs to each person, and just set them there in front of them. That. Is. Disgusting. They should have just brought fresh waters. All in all, the items I took from that night: terrible service, lazy management(standing at the bar) and staff, crappy food, and an unclean restaurant. Please do not come here. I come all the way from California once a year to Chicago for this pizza, and will never be back. Also, don’t believe the tipping scale at the bottom of your receipt. Do the math, it’s around $ 1 off in favor of the waitress…

Let me first say that I used to love this place. Out of several different Giordano’s locations that I have been to, this was my favorite. I am from out of town, but I would look forward to coming here. My best friend and I even had a favorite waitress– by everything was different when we visited on Friday evening. Food was off. Service was off. Everything was off. We came in and sat down for dinner and the first thing we noticed were flies buzzing around everywhere. The second thing we noticed was that multiple staff members were standing around… doing nothing. There was even a table in the back where two waitresses were sitting with two men that did not work at the restaurant. When they didn’t have tables, they would sit back down and drink from their cups. We also saw what appeared to be two managers doing absolutely nothing. One, a female in a button up shirt, was by the bar talking and laughing with other employees both times I went to the restroom. The other, a man, was simply standing around behind the front counter. Considering how slow they were, you might think one or both of them would take it upon themselves to see how their customers are doing. Another thing that bothered me is that after asking for a second set of silverware(there was only one), we opened the new set up to discover that the fork, which we needed, was dirty. Our waitress was a nice girl, but knew nothing about the drink specials. My best friend asked about a certain beer and she told us she would go to ask about it… when she came back, it seemed that she had completely forgotten about that particular beer and listed off the beers that were already listed on the sheet. He decided to just pick one that was already on the sheet and I ordered a frozen lemonade. When I had finished my drink, she asked if I wanted another and I wanted something different, so I looked at the menu. Nothing really stood out to me, so I asked her if I could order from the bar/off their cocktail menu and she seemed nervous about that. She asked me what I was looking for and I said Jameson whiskey and sprite. She said that they only had the ingredients to make the cocktails on the menu. That was extremely disappointing and I wondered why she even bothered asking what I wanted if they were only limited to their cocktail ingredients. For appetizers, we ordered the chopped salad, the garlic fries, and the garlic/cheese bread. I will admit that it was our mistake– we said garlic bread when we ordered(the menu says ‘garlic and cheese bread’) but were surprised to see that they had made us garlic bread and not cheese bread. We did not know garlic bread was on the menu. We told the waitress that it was our mistake and we wanted cheese bread instead and asked if it would be possible to have that. She said«yes, it is.» When we said it was our mistake. When that happened, I decided that I was dissatisfied with her as a server. I had given the benefit of the doubt up until that point. I work in customer service as well, and you NEVER agree with a customer when it comes to something like that. And not only that, but she had to go ask permission from the kitchen to add cheese to the bread. That confused me a little. Apparently it was fine because they made us a brand new cheese bread(which tasted pretty good). The garlic fries hardly tasted like garlic– nothing special about them at all. I had raved to my best friend about how good they were, and they definitely fell short of expectations. The salad was decent and seemed to be the only consistency in regards to the food. For our pizza, we ordered the deep dish pie with pepperoni, chicken sausage, extra cheese, and jalapeños. That is the exact same pizza that we ordered last time. Previously, we couldn’t get enough of it. We ate the leftovers for breakfast the next morning. I almost didn’t want to eat this pizza. You can tell that their recipe has somehow changed. The crust was undercooked and flavorless. The sauce was spread thin and also lacked flavor. The only jalapeños on the pizza were sprinkled on the top, not underneath the cheese and sauce as it was last time. Needless to say, we did not take the rest of our pizza home. I would also like to point out that before all of these changes, your server would serve you the first slices. We loved that about Giordanos… but our server did not do that. She simply asked, «do you need help serving?» Which was ok, but definitely disappointing. Needless to say, we will NOT be back to any Giordano’s locations in the future. Whatever they have done to change their restaurants, it was definitely for the worst.

Pizza was good, service was decent. It was a little bit awkward at first since when we walked in, nobody came up to us for a few minutes even though there were a few people behind the take out counter and we almost sat ourselves down because that’s what we assumed we should do. Ordered the Classic pizza along with some beer. As advertised, the pizza took the whole 45 minutes to cook. It was pretty good — better than Lou Maltani’s I’d say because the cheese is not as overwhelming. The green peppers were a little too dominant in the pizza but otherwise pretty delectable! After we got the bill, nobody checked up on us so we ended up going to the front to pay since we again assumed that’s what we were supposed to do. While I’m not personally a fan of deep dish pizza, this place has better deep dish than I’ve had elsewhere! I’d say to improve hospitality a little bit more — I barely saw my waiter except for when he took our order, delivered our food and then our check. Also the place must have undergone renovations because it looks a lot better than it does in some previous pictures!
