No longer here! The space is empty. Don’t bother coming! It’s too bad because reviews looked good.

Yum!!! Always on the lookout for tasty vegetarian fare, and you couldn’t ask for much better than this. Delicious lentil soup with a subtle citrus flavor and fresh dill. Fresh kabobs with grilled veggies and an herbed yogurt sauce topped with pomegranate. I love a good food adventure!

Food was great. The server was sweet. The service itself was slow. The prices were way to high for a midweek lunch. I got an entrée with chicken but replaced the rice with a side salad. The portion was fairly small and with a $ 13 price tag, I probably won’t return. This place would be great if they catered to the professional crowd in the area more by keeping lunches around 9 or 10 bucks and my speeding up their lunch service. Many of us only have 30 minutes to grab a bite. Once tip is paid, you’re looking at spending $ 16 for lunch here without a drink or appetizer.

Ambiance: Cafeteria like Service: Attentive Green tea: Excellent! Hummus: Excellent! Chicken Kabob: Excellent Baklava: Good Don’t be turned off by the location or the décor. The food is excellent and more than makes up for the strip mall frontage and the institutional feel to the dinning room.

Amazing food and pristine kitchen. Chicken kabobs and hummus were as good as I have ever had. Looking forward to the lamb next time. The décor is new and crisp… looks like a family operation and their focus was on me having a delightful experience… and they succeeded. Make sure you get the hummus to start…

Lovely serene atmosphere and wonderful food. Excellent eggplant appetizer called biryani bademjan served with a soft pita they call naan(which was only okay). Wonderful lamb kebab beautifully seasoned and cooked perfectly on top of very special interesting rice with cranberries and spices. A little bowl of tangy bright green chutney served alongside. Very nice small«rich greens» salad lightly dressed and very fresh. The sweet Persian tea was very tasty with just a faint hint of rosewater, and the little bowl of nuts and dried fruits served with it was such a nice touch. Really outstanding was the Baghlava… a bit hard and crunchy, but fabulous flavor… one of the best we’ve had. Café Anar does not serve alchohol, but it wasnt really missed. That being said, they need to work a bit to improve their ice tea for us southerners! ! Service was super friendly and helpful. In a strip mall next to the Factory Outlet Stores near the airport in a building that is being renovated and also houses Carmens Cuban bar and restuarant. Café Anar has an outdoor patio that we forgot to take a look at. Definitely a place we will return to for another visit, especially as they plan to add more Central Asian dishes that we are looking forward to trying. The prices are very reasonable. We two split one salad, appetizer, entrée and dessert and were very full and satisfied.

First time there, went with my girlfriend and we ordered Kebab-e-Koobideh, Loghmeh Kabob, Soup aux Lentilles, Rich Green(salad), and some Hummus. It was all fantastic. The only thing I would have changed was to get the sandwich instead of the entrée. The rice was alright, though I much would have preferred the kabob in the pita. Other than that, fantastic. The service was amazing and friendly, the atmosphere was really nice. All the dishes were also presented really well.

Disclaimer: I am not a connoisseur of «Central Asian Gourmet Cuisine» so I may not know what I’m talking about. Service was wonderful, both the guy and the gal were extremely friendly and helpful as to recommendations and explanations. Décor of the place very new and clean with outside seating available. Lentl soup was very tasty and very thick. The lamb stew special(had a fancier name that I cant recall) was delicious. nice tender chunks of tasty lamb served over a bed or rice that had raisins and spices in it. The best thing was the appetizer, Burani Bademjan, which is sauteed eggplant with mint and garlic cream on top; served with bread. Delicious!

Stopped in this place on a Saturday afternoon on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted with a warm friendly smile into a very tidy and proudly maintained place. I ordered Kebob-e-Murgh. I was provided a glass of water and a nicely sized complimentary sample of their Soup aux Lentilles, which was delicious, while I waited for my order. Had I been dining there, or had it not been so hot that day, I would have ordered a full soup. The kebob was cooked with care right in front of me, and was delicious. The rice was fluffy and flavorful, and properly seasoned as no flavor of seasonings over-powered the other — or the rice. I was warmly thanked as I left by the chef and had a brief conversation. Obviously she cares about the food she prepares and clearly uses fresh, quality ingredients and understands subtlety by not over powering quality ingredients with too much seasoning. This place will be added to my monthly rotation of weekend dining.

I had the kebab murgh sandwich today when I visited with friends. I absolutely loved it. The quality of the ingredients was so obvious. The chicken was incredibly moist and was served with a naan bread and vegetables. It also had a side of greens with walnuts, cranberries and feta. The whole meal was flavorful and great quality. I had a cup of their specialty tea to drink which was served with dried fruit, almonds and pistachios. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. He genuinely cared about our experience at Café Anar. The owner, Yasmine, also stopped by the table and she was a pleasure to speak with. She is a restauranteur from San Francisco and very passionate about her food. I highly recommend you try Café Anar out. You won’t be disappointed! This is healthy, fresh and flavorful food!

Truthfully, I found the pictures of mustachioed men on the walls creepy. I don’t miss them. Café Anar has gone a slightly different direction from its predecessor with more common Mediterranean and central Asian fare but with a few surprises. The Persian tea, served with a small side bowl of dates and almonds, has a delicate flavor. It could be a dessert. The Mast-o-Kheyar, was exactly as the server described: light and refreshing. I didn’t find it particularly flavorful though, it was like a thick soup, with a barely noticeable cucumber flavor. Had it not been for the mint, the yogurt taste would have overpowered this completely. Still, it was good choice for something light on a hot day. The only disappointment was the pita with which it was served. It was too ordinary. The vegetable kabob(Kabob-e-Sabzi) was prepared well. The spices on the vegetables balanced the flavors of the vegetables themselves. It was quite tasty. Because it just opened, Café Anar is working with a «starter» menu of a few basic offerings, but there’s still something for everyone. So far, so good.
