I eat here regularly ever since i first tried it, the variety is unbelievable you could go in and get something different every time yet never be disappointed. I went last Friday and it was extremely busy so my family and I had to wait a bit but trust me it was well worth the wait! The pizza is fantastic and there were so many different options, I loved the fried calamari and the mussles were phenomenal. Its always seems like people only take the time to write on here when they have something negative to say, I always leave here satisfied and with a smile on my face

It is my first five star to a pizza place. After walking pass by for two years, I finally dot a chance to push the door. My first impression the how neat and clean this place is. It has a very cozy atmosphere and everything is sparking clean. The dining area on the left and long hall way on the right give customer a huge seating area. I really like these high chairs next to street. For the food, pizza are prepared 15 ft from you. All the ready to go pizza are placed at the counter. The staffs are funny and friendly. One unique pizza here is Thai Chicken, which is sweet and spicy. On stop of these chicken is a layer of flavorful melted cheese. I will definitely come back for another bite.

I’ve been eating at the godfather of Morristown since they have opened. I have always had a consistent meal there. I order take out, to go and I dine in at least 2 – 3 times a week. A parking lot is always a plus when the parents come to visit. Service — Elder is a waiter/bus boy and he does not get enough credit! He is always so consistent and always professional. Paul is a bus boy but he too does not get enough credit. He always picks up the dirty dishes, delivers the bread right as you sit down, and brings more water. Genevieve is a waitress and she too is so sweet and always on top of everything. Ambience — BYOB and a parking, liquor store next door as well. Food — large portions and good prices. Biggest advice it to make a reservation and bring your own wine and/or beer.

Had a great dinner with another couple on New Years Eve. Food was fresh, hot, tasty and the service was timely. Items a nice relaxing meal with yummy food. I’d go back there in a heartbeat

Horrible experience. I’ve been here a couple of times(thinking that i would actually like it more than the previous time visited, but always fail. Just drove in poor snowy conditions, to only come back home with crap, poorly made food. I don’t see myself coming here for anything else other than a regular pizza pie that you can get anywhere. The staff is slightly rude, loud and unprofessional.

I have no complaints about this place and I don’t understand the bad reviews here. I ate here more than 20 times now, sometimes I order pick up, sometimes delivery and sometimes I eat in. I have never been disappointed with anything. The service was always good, servers are polite. The food is really good, one of the best in Morristown. I love the Gnocchi Quatro — my favorite dish and Eggplant Parmezana dinner is outstanding. The best ever and I have never eaten a better one. I also try the place or the same dish a few times and see the consistency of it. For Godfather I have to say that all the dishes are consistent and always good. I also had a lobster here, different salads and different pasta, also gluten free pasta. Haven’t tried any pizzas yet since I’m not crazy about pizza but will someday. As I said everything was good and consistent.

Great service and great selection of food! I would totally come back to Morristown just to have another meal here(and to visit my friend of course). BYOB(which is just so convenient and cheap) is made easier because they’re located next to a wine store. Go in there, buy some wine, and start your dinner off right! There were so many options, and within certain options(like the style of chicken entrée) you can select the type of pasta you prefer! I opted for the black linguine, and it was heavenly. I also ordered some broccoli rabe on the side for extra dosage of greens. I was also very impressed with the cost of everything. Granted, there are some dishes that are more expensive(and rightfully so), but after splitting the bill evenly to cover for our friend’s birthday, I think the final cost was still around $ 30! Maybe I was just impressed because alcohol wasn’t reflected on the bill which makes everything seem less expensive.

Dont suggest ordering delivery. Mozz sticks were barely defrosted and pizza was soggy.

First experience just eh. I decided to switch up my Motown pizza and try godfathers based on the recco of a neighbor. We dined in and ordered personal pizzas off the menu. I split a pepperoni with one other and if you’re not too hungry it’s plenty of pizza. I didn’t like the fact that the pepperoni were under the cheese Chicago style. I hate soggy pepperoni especially since my wife ordered a gluten free(I know I know) and her pepperoni was crispy as could be. Our pizza was pretty bland over all. Nothing to write home about. My wife’s was pretty good and for those of you on gluten restricted diets she said it was one of the better she’s had from the options around town. The waitress also forgot my drink for about 15 minutes and was an expert in the art of dodging your looks to get their attention so short of yelling at her it was tough getting her to stop back by. I was a little disappointed in my pizza experience but we also had the personal pizzas. When I looked at all of the slices available I saw the typical jersey pizza place with a ton of options and slices that looked normal meaning it had an actual crust and was bigger than 4 bites. If you dine in skip the personal and go for the real deal. I’ll give it another shot but I’m not sold yet. To be continued…

There’s enough reviews on this place that I don’t need to elaborate too much, and most people hit the nail on the head: pizza is great, service is unorganized and ridiculous. I’m a ‘process-oriented’ guy, and I tend to watch things happen around me, and say«Well, if they just simplified this step…» or «If one person specialized in this, and they passed it on to…» and so on. This makes me a real hit at parties. All that said, watching the crew that works at Godfather pizza gives me straight up anxiety. There are too many people working at one time, not enough of them with specific jobs, and this leads inevitably to poor service. The other reviews say it all: «took an hour for my pizza» or «we never saw our waitress» or «staff has no knowledge of the menu», etc. etc. But just like the other reviews, I agree, the pizza is the saving grace, and therefore, I will put up with the chaos and try to enjoy my slice.

Service dining-in = terrible Food = pretty good Take-out = fast and good service Godfathers in Morristown is pretty new, but comes from one in East Hanover. It’s right next to a strip mall complex that has Panera, Cluck U, Macho nacho, etc. Its right below a luxury apartment complex next to the train station. The décor inside is pretty nice. When you walk straight in there is the pizza takeout and to the left and right there is indoor dining. Outside dining is nice and there are heaters close to every table for when it gets cold. I’ve been here twice, once for takeout and once for dining in. My takeout experience was far preferable. The service was very fast(I called 15 min before I wanted 2 pizzas and was able to pick them up within that time.) My dining in experience had terrible service. Not terrible in the sense that the waitress was rude or anything, just that we never saw her. It was frustrating because it was a good 40 min-1 hour before we saw her again and that was after asking the front desk to get our bill. Speaking of which, it is a little ridiculous that you can’t get your tables bill from the front or have to wait for the disappearing wait staff. I’m not sure if it is a training problem or having too many responsibilities, but the wait service leaves much to be desired. Now to the food. We got a custom pizza(added sausage, onions, spinach, and pepper) and margarita pizza both times. The second time we got a small margarita pizza and it was lacking in mozzarella. The big one was fine, and other than the small w/o much mozz the pizzas were really good. When we were dining in we got calamari and it was delicious. There were two sauces — regular marinara and spicy marinara. The spicy marinara was good. Overall takeout for this store is the more ideal way, and much preferable to dining in. Food is pretty good, just the service is lacking.

Grandma’s Pizza: margarita pizza with garlic. The pizza itself tasted good and the garlic really took it to the next level. It could have used more basil though. The perfect snack after a few drinks to curb the hunger lol The only downside was that the food took an hour to deliver. Although the pizza tasted good it doesn’t justify the long wait.

I’m only giving this restaurant 3 stars to give it the benefit of the doubt because my boyfriend has come here and really enjoyed the food. I have a different opinion. First, the service was fair. The staff had no knowledge of the menu. Otherwise our waitress was just not friendly. Second, the food was below average. It was tasteless and didn’t seem fresh. I don’t know what it was but every dish we got had a certain bland taste. I have tried everything from the raw bar to the pizza to pasta on different occasions, and it was all sub par. With that said, I have a bit of a problem paying the prices they charge for mediocre food. Strong points: nice place and outdoor seating, they make an effort, and BYO. With all the competition in the area, I surely will not be back anytime soon.

I wish Unilocal would give a «half star» feature. Anyways! I think this place is about average. What you order can be hit or miss. The things that are good aren’t amazing and most dishes are just kinda average. Definitely wouldn’t categorize it as fine dining or a special occasion restaurant. Prices are a little high considering the quality but it is convenient, they offer gluten free and they deliver so it’s more or less a quick fix kinda place. Only sat outside in which the atmosphere was nice and service is ok. What I’ve tried: Starter bread is OK at best Stuffed peppers are good but plating is a little weird Stuffed clams were just OK Chicken arrabbiata was real good one night ok when I ordered it another night.

I’ve been here a few times whether it be for their pizza or a nice sit down meal. As for the pizza it’s one of my favorites in the area and the bruschetta pizza is delicious! We went here a few days ago and decided to sit outdoors. Slowest service, so I would only recommend coming here if you’re not in a rush(from having our order taken to getting our entrees to receiving the check). Luckily for us we were in no rush and where able to enjoy the fresh air and some nice wine. The entrees are pretty standard portions and standard quality for Italian food(yes you’ll most likely walk away with leftovers). We had a good time and the atmosphere and the fact that this place is BYOB adds gives it extra points.

Loved this spot! Went here last night and had a lovely outdoor meal with my boyfriend. BYOB is an obvious bonus. The liquor store across the street is much cheaper than the one next door. The focaccia bread with olive oil to start was amazing. We both opted for Stromboli, despite seeing numerous fantastic-looking pizzas pass us by. I had the Philly Steak and he had the Buffalo Chicken. Holy Stromboli were these good. And can easily be two meals, maybe three. No offense if you ate a whole one in one sitting. To end, we brought home a dessert pizza. We opted for The S’mores, which was unreal, but we were told next time we need to try the Caramelized NUTtella. So I guess we have to go back!

As much as I want to like this place, I just can’t. The outdoor seating is great, and their menu is not bad, but I can’t overcome the poor service and high prices. I went once during peak hours and sat outside. I noticed they had brought tables from inside to give more seating outside. After being sat, our order was taken. After about 40 minutes of waiting and no sign of the waiter, we had to ask other servers multiple times to send out our server. He never came, so it required me to go inside and see if our food was going to come. I was told the kitchen was busy. Finally he came out and said our food was next up. After about 60+ minutes our food finally arrived. Why would you seat so many people if you don’t have the capacity in the kitchen to keep up? I don’t get it. I gave it another chance during the week, around 9pm. It was still crowded and a long wait for our food. My boyfriend ended up getting a seafood special. When it came, it look kind of bland and all white. All the fish had weird brine taste to it, and to top it off the dish was $ 32! YES, $ 32 for a pasta dish with a few pieces of frozen fish speckled on top. Really, I can get a 10x better meal in the city for half this price. If you want a piece of generic pizza, this place is ok, if you want a good and reasonable placed meal, I would not suggest it.

Within walking distance of my new place so of course I’ve already been there a handful of times. Friendly staff, I loved the ambiance and the great menu. Not your typical Italian restaurant and the gourmet pizzas are something special of their own. My first visit I went to dinner and had a mixed green salad with a healthy serving of lobster, crab and shrimp meat on top, dressed with a honey mustard dressing. The salad was only $ 13 and it’s BYOB. Second visit was for lunch this afternoon, it was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy a quick slice. I ate a bruschetta slice served cold and it really hit the spot. It was a refreshing slice of pizza, which is a way that I have never described a slice of pizza before. Post lunch we walked through the green to enjoy the day. I highly recommend this place no matter the meal, this has already become a regular spot for me and I’m less than a week in to being a Motown resident.

This was my 1st time at Godfathers in Morristown. I visit the Morristown area frequently & this place truly feels like the hidden gem. I visited this establishment with 2 girlfriends, and might I say, perfect for a ladies night out. It’s BYOB… SCORE!!! Our waitress was so friendly and informative. The food was so fresh and the ingredients were top notch. The girls & I meet once a month to a new place, but we all agreed next month we are coming right back here! Can’t wait to return. Don’t hesitate to come here.

I did not dine in, this is just for takeout, and just for the pizza. This is not NJ pizza. This is more Boston-style. Soft, flimsy crust that becomes soggy very quickly. Not nearly enough or the right kind of seasonings. Not enough sauce and VERY much not enough toppings. I counted about six sausage or pepperoni slices(or any other kind of topping) per pizza wedge. The mere fact that there were so countably few of them is not right. Cheese quality seemed decent but it was neither high-quality nor the thick, chewy stuff that they pile on some places. Let me point out again that I’ve called this Boston-style pizza. Of all the places I’ve had pizza, Boston ranks as the worst overall. So I really could have just left it at that. There are multiple better places in Morristown alone, not to mention the surrounding towns. But no, I have not eaten in the restaurant, or tried any of their non-pizza offerings. Those could very well be much better. I would be willing to give those a try — but never, ever, ever again the pizza.
