Davino’s Queens Pizza

This is the closest thing I’ve found to the pizza I so desperately miss from back home in the northeast. Crust is a thick, sauce is a little sweet. Someone in another review compared it to the chain places, like Dominos or Papa John, yuck. No way. This is much better. We’ve ordered several times, and would get it more often if they were open Sundays. We do pizza, wings and football a lot. I wish Davinos was closed on Mondays instead of Sundays. Or Tuesdays, or Wednesdays.

First off I love the fact that they deliver so that’s a plus! We ordered a ham pizza, wings, and garlic knots.
Ham pizza– When I first opened the box I was surprised not to see the ham. I was going to call and complain until I took a bite and saw they put the ham under the cheese. First time having pizza that way. Pizza was good comparable to dominos, papa johns, etc. Thicker crust than the NY slices I’m used to. Overall decent pizza.
Wings– Perfecto! I loved how they were crispy and done right. Most places serve undercooked soft wings blehh.
Garlic Knots– Very soft and doughy. Decent.
I would definitely order from here especially the wings! I have to try more from their menu.

Just bought a 14 inch ½ pepperoni n ½ cheese from here to go. Got home and WHAT a wonderful surprise!!! From the first bite you can tell EVERYTHING is made from scratch. Oh my, what a pie! If you don’t try this place you are missing out on a true lower Manhattan pizza.

THE best wings ever. We used to go to the Davino’s in Davidson, and we were so disappointed when it closed. We somehow learned of them reopening in Mooresville and made a beeline for it. The pizza there is very good also.

I grew up in Upstate New York and this is a taste of home for sure!

Amazing pizza! I’m from Buffalo NY, and this is hands down the best Pizza, Wings, and Cslzone I’ve had in a very long time. Thanks for the great grub and great service. Never thought I would locate such a gem in the Lake Norman area 5stars!

Just moved in the area about a week ago. Was looking for a great pizza spot! Well these guys are «Spot On» for great pizza! I’m originally from Buffalo, NY… I recently moved to the area from Califonia, so I’ve had my fair share of pizza in different places and it’s the best pizza I’ve had in a long while! Their Buffalo wings & sauce, The Calzone where definitely on point! It was really good!

My co-​workers love this place. We get it occasionally for work lunches and the pizza always tastes great. Will have to try other items soon.

Best pizza in the area and worth the drive if you’re not near exit 36. Great crust and delicious sauce! Start with the knots, you will love them but save room for a cannoli ;) with other places eliminating their medium size pies it’s good to see they keep it available for empty nesters. Now I know we could fill up on a large but then we wouldn’t have room for knots and a cannoli! Place is small but they had space without waiting on Friday night. Can’t wait to go back.

We’ve eaten here a total of 3 times so far so I feel safe to make a judgement on this interesting establishment.
The pizza is wonderful (note a comment I’ll make at the bottom on one of them however). Great crust, good sauce, and excellent cheese. I’m generally not a big fan of pizza dough that has a sweet taste but it seemed the right balance (I’m a sour over sweet kinda person) and I ended up eating the entire slice, crust and all.
The subs were very good as well. We’ve tried the Italian and Sausage Pepper and were very pleased with both.
The calzone my boyfriend had was impressive! Not only was the portion size perfect for him but it was very tasty! This is one thing I’m going to be ordering in the future for sure.
We didn’t get to try those garlic knots (forgot to include them in the order, but do not worry… we will be back to claim them soon!) but my boyfriend said the smell of them was absolutely mouth watering (which is why we were so disappointed when he got home and did not have them).
The service is fast and the people are extremely friendly. The only experience we had that we were not thrilled over was when we tried our most favorite pizza from here: the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. After having tried your other pizzas (whole and by the slice) I was really looking forward to this but was disappointed in the extreme. There was not anywhere near enough buffalo sauce (we couldn’t taste it at all but did see the coloring of it under the cheese) and the chicken tasted like it was boiled a day earlier and reheated and served later. We hope to find the next time that we try this (we will eventually) that both of those complaints were just an off day for you guys, cause we love this pizza!

I have been eating davinos for a number of years going back to their Davidson location. best pizza and wing joint in the lake norman area.

Great pizza! Sauce is a little bland but other than that it was great. Would recomend to friends.

We went here with our family based on the reviews on Unilocal and were thoroughly underwhelmed. As mentioned by other reviewers, the service was excellent, however the food was mediocre. The Caesar salad was very fresh, but that was the best part of the meal. The pizza had a nice flavor, however the crust was doughy and greasy, but not in the good way. The Philly cheese steak sub was okay, but not even close to an actual Philly cheese steak. The French fries looked promising but were also overly greasy and left a film of grease in your mouth. There are so many excellent pizza restaurants in the Mooresville area, we will not be returning here.

The owners were super sweet, but once I was done, I was so nauseous and ended up sick the next two days.

Very good authentic pizza! People are friendly and the quality of the food is outstanding! This is a must if you like pizza!

Davinos’ Queens pizza is actually the former Queens Pizza. When I saw the 2 slices and a drink for $ 5 I had to go in and see what it was all about since you can barely find a slice under $ 3 if you even find a pizzeria in the Charlotte area that sells slices! The owner is from Buffalo, NY, he ran Davino’s in Davison, NC for many years. As a former NY’er I have to say the pizza is pretty good in flavor. The crust is not thick nor is it thin but just right, the flavor of the cheese is there as well, its not some bland mozzarella. I would eat here again. They are also making cannolis and chocolate layer cake. I may try the cannoli on my next visit and update you

Went in for lunch (great special — 2 slices & a drink for $ 5.25!) and loved it. The slices are about a quarter pie apiece. I had to take the 2^nd one home. Very tasty, loved the crust. Next time, I want to order an entire pizza to see what it’s like with toppings. You can order toppings on your slices but I just went with plain cheese.
The décor isn’t upscale but the pizza is good enough that you won’t care. It’s good food and huge portions.
If you’re hungry and don’t have a lot of cash to spare, stop by. You’ll be glad you did!

New in town and looking for good pizza… I used my favorite assistant… Unilocal!
The reviews pointed to Davino’s and they were spot on! I haven’t been able to find a White Pizza like the one they make in years. It was delicious!!! The customer service was outstanding. It is family owned and operated. We were treated with a genuine warmth and appreciation of our business. They’ve got an amazing menu, which I will be going back again and again to try each and everything on it. :-)

Under NEW Ownership!!! When? It does not matter to me, this is some Very Good Pizza, the Guy (probably the Owner) and Lady (probably his Wife — I mean the REAL Owner) were plenty Friendly! This was my first visit (under ANY Management) and as usual even though I have no idea how it will taste I order a Large Cheese Pizza, it makes me laugh when I say large and the person behind the counter seeing that I’m alone and not Big enough to eat the whole thing confirms the Large by asking «you want the _​_​_​_​_​_​_​_​ (fill in the blank with the largest size in Inches listed on the Menu) here at Queens the Largest is 18», and I always say: «Unless you have a Larger one»!
Pretest) I’m real Picky about Cheese! I’m skeptical about blends… Queens uses 100% Mozzarella!!! Yay!!!
Test 1.) I usually do not order slices because they are reheated and it would not make for the most accurate assessment of how good the Pizza is… Here at Queens I had two slices while I waited for my Large Pie to cook! These slices were better than most Pizza fresh out of the oven (the first time)
Test 2.) I usually order a Large Cheese — I figure if the Cheese Pizza is good on its own then it will be good with Quality Toppings!
Test 3.) I did not eat any of my Big Pie until I got home (a 36 mile drive) With out heating it, right out of the box, no longer warm, this Pizza has Great Flavor!
Test 4.) Reheated later that day and the next two days! I have a Toaster oven with Custom Cut Bricks — I do not own a Microwave and have not for years (and Proud) I say this to let you know I’m Really Good at Reheating Pizza! I turn the oven on for about five minutes, put the pizza in the last few second and let it stay in for about a Minute or so after the timer has run out, so the slice is incredible warm, not hot enough to cause a burn!
Queens Pizza Passed all Four! The flavor though different each time compares well with my Favorites which means it is really GOOD!
