They closed their doors. I don’t know what happened.

BBQ right on Lake Conroe. My wife and I stopped here for a quick bite on the way home from the lake. I had the sliced brisket sandwich and she had the stuffed baked potato with chopped brisket. The brisket was pretty good. Nice smoke flavor but not overpowering. Meat was tender, but not fall apart tender. It was pretty good brisket though. The potato looked good as well and wife said it was tasty. Service was a little lax in this place hence the 3 star and not 4 star score. Food alone would have been 4 stars but it was hard to get things when we needed. It took forever to get a refill, and also to get the check when we were done. If you are looking for a place for good BBQ on Lake Conroe though, stop by and give them a try. You will not be disappointed in the food.

Tucked behind Sam’s Boat and Five Guys, it sits along Lake Conroe providing for a pretty great view while dining. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Being that we arrived a little close to 8(close at 9 on a Tuesday), my company and I decided to just grab a seat at the bar, which I might add is a great lookout for the lake view that’s available. Food service was a bit slow, not sure if due to it being a late weekday, just their norm, or that they were short staffed the bartender, Cody, was running back and forth inside, outside, and behind the bar. Regardless, being in good company tends to mask that fault and folly of some establishments. Placed an order for an appetizer of Fried Jalopeno and Chipotle poppers(7.99) and main entrée 2 Meat Combo(12.99). I went with the sausage and original lean brisket with my sides of garlic mashed red skin potatoes and green beans. The food was good, nothing overly wowed me. No wait, I loved the green beans with the bacon, I mean I think if my parents would have made them that way when I was younger I would have established a love for them way before my teenage years. I have to thank the bartender, Cody, for the great conversation and never once taking my name and referring to me as Dani California the whole night, I really much appreciate the entertaining welcome you gave me. Also introducing me to Rebecca Creek Whiskey, distilled in the hill country of Texas(ha love it), still not going to replace my boy JD. And, to the other generous Texans who bought me a shot of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey, hats off to you. Overall not a bad place to go for a casual meal on the lake, I’m sure I’ll give them another go.

I wish that I could give this restaurant negative stars. It was the worst dining experience that I have ever had. I came with 5 others and sat outside on the patio. We had a horrible service, our waiter could not seem to remember to bring anything to the table. Things started to get worse when he completely forgot an entire entrée that two people were splitting. After we told him this was missing he stopped at two other tables, took another their order and then went to investigate the dish that was not there. Clearly lacking prioritization skills. During this encounter was also asked for other very simple items like a drink menu, condiments and water refills. He comes back quite a while later with none of the above and asks to take the order again because the kitchen«can’t find it». Somehow the item that no one could find did show up on the bill — convenient. At this point, everyone else was done eating. We didn’t have an entire entrée, we didn’t have a drink menu, water, ketchup, nothing that was asked for. The server’s excuse is that he had the entire patio to himself. We now went to speak to the manager, Cody. Cody offered to take the meal off of our bill THATNEVERCAME. Why would pay for something that apparently our server never knew about? We then asked the manager to fill our waters and 10 mins later he returns WITHNOWATER. Obviously the server is learning by example. We also dropped off a cake earlier in the day to celebrate a birthday at our table. We asked three different people — our incompetent server, the hostess, and the manager Cody. No one made an effort to bring the cake out or tell us why it wasn’t coming out. Then as we were leaving — wanting to get our cake back — Cody said«oh, we don’t know where it is». I realize that this is a chain restaurant and my expectations should have been low, but by far this was the worst dining experience that I have ever been a part of. Stay very far away from County Line. I am embarrassed for the management of this restaurant.

An ok BBQ place that sits right off of resorty Lake Conroe. Of the BBQ offerings, the beef brisket was tender and succulent, and the best amongst that, the ribs and chicken.

I guess I made the mistake of going here on July 4th, but come on this was horrible. Me and my girlfriend showed up at 7pm to get a table, hopefully on the patio to watch the fireworks at 9:15 that night. We showed up and the host said that it would be an hour wait for a table, and that all the patio tables had reservations. Fine, ok. My fault for not thinking a casual bbq place would take reservations on a busy night. So we sat down and waited. But the funny thing is, we started to notice most of the tables were not filled. In fact, half of the tables and booths inside were empty and clean. We did not understand why we were waiting. But true to his word, we were seated at around 8:00 in a booth inside, even though there were still tables on the patio that were empty. Well we were just happy to have a table. We waited another 10 minutes for the waitress to make it to the table to take our drink orders. Which was hard to do since we did not have menus yet. So off she went to get waters and menus. Another 10minutes until we got our menus. She took our drink orders and when she came back we gave our food orders I would say around 8:20ish. Now ordering was kinda hard at the restaurant. Not because of all the great food, but because the lack of food at all in the restaurant. They were out of Turkey, Green beans, the fresh table bread, Ziengbach, Frozen margaritas, Baby back ribs, and smoked chicken. So we went with the chicken fried steak and fried catfish. For the next 30minutes we were left to ourselves without ever being checked on. As 9:15 came, we decided to go outside to watch the fireworks since we still did not have food. We told the waitress we would be outside and would come back after the fireworks were over. Lucky for us the fireworks started late around 9:25, at which point the waitress brought us our food outside where we were standing. Ummm, Ok can you put it on the table and we will be in when the show is over. So we walked her back in to make sure this was done, only to find our table completely cleared. Now we have food no silverware or waters. Great… We walked back outside to watch the fireworks since we had already waited over an hour for food. The show lasted 20minutes, and we came back to eat still with no waters or silverware. Our food was nice and ice cold, but at this point all we wanted to do was go home. So we just ate as fast as we could to get out of here. The food was not that bad. It was not worth the hassle or the price of the meal though. Before we had even finished the meal we began asking for the check. This was the fastest I had seen her move all night. She brought that quickly and took my card very fast. We finally left the meal from hell around 10:15. Another problem we encountered was that both bathrooms were completely disgusting. It looked as if they had not been cleaned all week. This did not help the situation at all. During the whole 3 hours we were there, no one ever apologized, offered to help, offered to comp anything. I am sorry for the long review, but I want everyone to understand the terrible experience I had at The county line BBQ tonight. It is a terribly run restaurant with horrible service. I will not be eating at any of their restaurants again.

So many flies I had to cover up my food in between bites, ugh! Service was sad too but the view was great. Food was so so.

This place is right by the river, which is definitely a plus. Sam’s Boat, messed up as usual and we just walked over to this place. It’s a BBQ spot with some outdoor seating. They also have some seafood on the menu, but not enough to really count. We sat outside and other than the waitress being a little«out there»(for lack of a better description/or maybe not wanting to elaborate) the place was A-ok. The food was good. I had chicken with mashed potatoes and some vegetables and it was pretty good and definitely tender. I also tasted some of the ribs, which were pretty good too. I was with a party of about 9 and everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Nothing really stood out for me, other than the beautiful river and the great weather that day. But I would definitely keep it on my list of BBQ places.

Four words for this highly rated BBQ restaurant… I don’t get it. Poor service, yesterday’s meats warmed up, faux country atmosphere. Once, and done.

Awesome view, average BBQ. I have great memories of The County Line in Austin and I think the fun I have had there clouded my memory of their BBQ. The view of the lake is awesome but I am sad to say that I left feeling the BBQ was just average.

My family and I ate here on a beautiful sunday afternoon. The food was good but nothing to write home about. We all had something different but no one was overly impressed. The server was very friendly but not very good. I think she was over worked as it was rather busy and it didn’t look like she had much help. I would not suggest this to anyone based off of this one experience however it may warrant a 2nd chance one day in the future.

Hubby wanted me to go pick up some BBQ from Kirby’s and I said, «Hey, why don’t we try the new BBQ joint on the lake, County Line. He said sure so we loaded up the boys(17&15) and off we go. It’s located in the new Waterpoint Marina/Shopping Center with lake view. Hence the prices I’m sure. This is some pricey BBQ. But then all BBQ seems to be pricey these days. Hubby and I had the 2 meat combo(12.99 each) I got Sausage & Baby back ribs with potato salad and cole slaw sides & Unsweet Tea. He had sliced brisket and sausage with pinto beans and french fries for sides. The 15 year old had the lean brisket platter(13.99)with French Fries and potato salad sides. The oldest was the big eater… he ordered a root beer float and Sweet Tea. After the server took the order sha asked if we wanted fresh bread for only $ 2.50 or something like that. We declined. The order came promptly as it should. After all the food only needs to be dished up, it’s already cooked. This is when we find out that there is no bread, onions, pickles served with the meal. You get what you order… period. We have never been to a BBQ joint that charges extra for these items. The meat was drowned in sauce. It was my mistake not to make sure it was on the side. Good BBQ does not require a bath in sauce. Long story short… Ho Hum BBQ. It really was just ok. The brisket was very thinly sliced,(makes even tough meat easier to eat) the sausage links were good and served whole. The baby back ribs were tender but all I could taste was the sauce. The potato salad was guaranteed excellent by the server so that’s what I ordered. It was white but I could not tell if it had mayo or miracle whip because it was very heavy on dill pickles and that was the primary flavor. The cole slaw was not the creamy kind but instead had some peppery vinegar type dressing. The server brought me some garlic mashed potatoes in exchange for the potato salad. Wow, when they say mashed, they aren’t kidding. The skins were even mashed to within an inch of unidentifiable. They had a pasty texture, an unappealing brownish gray color and a heavy black pepper taste. The cook may have waved a clove of garlic over the top but I sure couldn’t taste any. Oh, and my son wants you to know we had to ask 2 different people 3 times for his float. Hey… it was all he had. The fly we had to fight off apparently was free since it didn’t appear on the bill and when we asked for a flyswatter, The server just didn’t see the humor in it. So my husband won’t ever go back because… are you ready??? They charge for bread, the food was not as good as Kirby’s, and… drum roll, the fly. Yep, the fly. Thank the Discovery Channel for the fly on your food phobia. All in all it was just ok. Some edible some not. Total tab $ 55.12 plus tip.
