This place is definitely a hideaway! This is a Montauk hidden Gem! I’m not going to lie from the front it doesn’t look that great, but once you get to the back and see the bar! Always a lot of fun and the food is awesome!

One of the best kept secret tucked in Diamond Cove marina in Montauk. Luckily, we stayed nearby at Harborside and walked right over. Locals come here for the best Mexican and drinks. I had their fish tacos, Mexican corn, and Guanabana margarita. Apparently, they ran out of strawberry for the night. We had the best food here compared to other places we’ve dined during our stay. Their version of elote, Mexican corn was so good especially with the cheese and lime juice. The fish tacos were small but solid. Hub had the steak burrito that was good. The meat was a bit tough. The shredded meat would had been a better option. This spot is really low-key with outdoor benches as well as indoor seating. This is def a no-frills and laid-back place! A great place to grab dinner w/o running up a tab compared to other eateries in the area.

Solid tex-mex food. Well priced for the area. If you like burritos and quesadillas, you will like this place.

Came here for fish tacos, which we’d heard rave reviews about. Their special of the day was duck tacos, so had to try those too, of course! Also ordered the cactus salad and a strawberry-basil margarita. Our party of four was divided on which tacos were the favorite. I would happily eat either one again and again! This is the kind of place that feels like the«old» Montauk(before the hipsters invaded!) — beautiful casual joint right on the water, where you can just walk up to the counter to order, and enjoy fresh and delicious Mexican food while looking out onto the harbor.

My favorite place in MTK. You can’t go wrong with them. The food is consistently delicious. I always go with the corn and the nachos there. Their special margaritas are really great as well. I also love the non-touristie vibe of the place as well. It’s a great«hideaway» from the crowds.

I am so disappointed. I came here for years when it was really a «hideaway». Now that it has been discovered, the food has gone downhill. Nothing was as special as it had been… tee shirts for sale all over the place, come on! We had a bunch of stuff but if you can’t nail a fish taco in a Mexican harborside restaurant in Montauk then say goodnight. Boring, flavorless, a poor version of Baja. I think they should introduce a chipotle crema version since this one stinks. I will say the elotes was very good but not enough to bring me back. Sorry Hideaway you may have gotten full of yourself. Get back to basics please. The staff there is very nice though I must say.

AMAZING food! this place is totally casual with a bar inside on a marina and picnic benches outside to eat at! Bar is nice and big with yummy drink specials, the peach sangria is perfect. for dinner the chicken burrito was filled and huge, nachos are fully loaded and the mexican corn is a must have. Don’t let the casuall look of this tiny shack fool you this is definitely a hidden gem thats so worth it

There is a reason that the corn is the main picture here… it is SO good that if you didn’t like it I don’t think we could be friends. Great place for groups and the margaritas are still delicious as ever.

Very good food. A very nice drive away from the resorts in south Montauk. We took a short excursion for lunch and really enjoyed the Margaritaville atmosphere and the beautiful summer view of the marina. I had enchiladas verdes(quite tasty), and my lunch date had chicken tacos(very fresh and good). We shared an order of elote(Mexican corn). The corn was spectacular and perfectly ripe. Two critiques: First, the woman at the register was super slow, and confused. She seemed overwhelmed and it took me forever to order, and she forgot to ring up the corn(had to go back and re-order that). Secondly, their hot sauces could be better. The«hot» version was really mild. The«mild» one was tasty but had no real spice.

Good Mexican, especially for Long Island. Easy service, nice staff, good menu. The pork tacos and nachos are great.

This place was across the street from our hotel and seemed like exactly what we wanted for dinner(affordable, laid back and on the harbor). Food did not disappoint as it was really delicious! We got the nachos and burritos and enjoyed everything. Margaritas were good too. The setup of the place was kind of a drawback as you have to order your food and they give u a buzzer to pick it up. Also, your drink tab is separate then food. Not a big deal but I guess we would’ve preferred to be served. Overall good food at a decent value with a laid back vibe. Quite a number of kids running around while we ate but what can you do? :)

This place is absolutely fantastic! The seafood here is so fresh and let me not even get into the wood burn BBQ. What took the prize was their nachos to die for, the beef brisket was phenomenal. Their prices will amaze you for a place in Montauk.

Foods great !!! BUT ! the staff and locals aren’t the nicest to the tourists. Caught them making some rude comments behind my groups back. I get it during the summer a bunch of 20 something year old come to party in the bars and get messy But That doesn’t mean you look and a group of family’s that are in town for the weekend with a crooked eye Pretty lame guys …

Unpretentious for what seems to be an evolving Montauk«scene». Been back to this place several times. Drinks are strong and the food is good quality Mexican. Get the Corn on the Cobb as an appetizer no matter how hungry or not hungry you are. Only con is there is one person working the register so there is always a line.

Very very yummy burritos. Not so nice service. They are soooo stingy with salsa. They give you these little tiny«cups» of salsa that are good for maybe two chips lol. Overall, it’s expensive but hey, it’s Montauk!

Good mexican joint, literally hidden away in some shabby marina(not a great setting) but the room was cool and comfy with a cantina open air vibe. Food also good and simple, wild caught shrimp quesadilla was obvious choice given how great the crop has been this season. Mahi grilled fish tacos a rarity and bonus as most taquerias opt for the cheaper talapia. A good variety of home made hot sauces available upon request. Elote es muy bien but we had to self-cut off the cob, which was messy. They should take a page from La Fondita AMA on this menu item.

Outstanding. That’s all I can say. What a great local hideaway. No joke. Food is amazing, fresh and really well priced. Tequila — too many to choose and bartender knew her stuff. Try the sopes. Whoa.

Best Mexican in Montauk! Mexican corn, chicken nachos and pulled pork tacos are great! Also, strawberry margarita is awesome! Try the green sauce, the mild one not the jalapeño one! Causal atmosphere and not over priced!

I really, really liked the Hideaway Restaurant. It’s a little off the beaten Montauk path and a the Mexican menu makes for a delicious departure from the fried seafood options abundant elsewhere. The chorizo nachos are awesome and the sopes were good, but not great. My Mahi tacos(special) were delicious! The fish was über fresh and the accouterments rounded out my tasty and satisfying meal. I was also really digging the laid back marina vibe. The bar is separate from the kitchen so you have to order your drinks separately from your meals, but who cares, if your’e at the Hideaway you shouldn’t be in a rush. Definitely stop in to the open air restaurant. There is plenty of outdoor seating too!

A-OK, because that’s the Unilocal standard for 3 stars. This place was a destination for a Memorial Day excursion to Montauk from Astoria. The first impression was that it is the go to place for everybody on a Sunday afternoon. Bustling with families, hung-over patrons, sports fans, and people like me… I was hoping for a better experience. Their specialty is Mexican food, and it’s A-OK. What’s not OK is that lunch for three cost $ 80. That’s one beer, two tacos, a pulled pork platter, a burrito, ceviche, and two diet colas. And the portions weren’t that big. Conversation after we left: «Guess how much that lunch cost?», asked John. «$ 54?», said Colleen. I priced it higher, guessing $ 65. When the visiting daughter from San Diego heard what was paid, she said: «Well I guess that’s what it costs for lunch near the Hamptons!».
