Yummy! The tacos were amazing. The atmosphere was fun and beachy. And our bottle of rosé was perfection! Good times in Montauk!

Eh, decent service but over priced. Asked for chicken in quesadilla and they doubled the price

Love the atmosphere in here and the tacos are awesome. Ive only tried the crispy fish and market fish, but both have been great(sauce is on point). The service is a little slow, but hey you’re at the beach — what do you expect and why are you in a hurry?

Extremely overpriced for such low quality. I ordered chips and salsa, my chip were stale and when I order salsa I expect actual salsa, and not pico. My friends tacos were very small.

Love this place for group casual dinners. Food is good. I go to the two in the city a lot and each has a different feel and menu. They each have different hot sauces that they make fresh weekly. It’s on the pricey side for the small portions. The staff at this location are always helpful and nice. At this location I like the shrimp and tilefish tacos and cheese quesadilla. Food is all very spicy so be prepared.

We just got into town and the kitchens were closing in a few minutes. I read the previous reviews and was tentative about coming here because it only had 3 stars… THATIS A TRAVESTY! This place is AWESOME!!! Tacos are FRESH&DELICIOUS plus the pricing is GREAT and the service was FAST/FRIENDLY. They play cool music and have a low light environment in the evening. I’ll definitely be back this weekend for some«after the beach tacos» :-)

I had some solid tacos here on my day trip to Montauk for the 4th! It was a beautiful day out so all the outdoor seating was taken — CG and I settled for a table inside to avoid a wait. The atmosphere is very casual and bright but appropriate for a beachside town. Huge windows allowed for tons of natural light. To order, you pencil in what you want on the paper menu provided. We weren’t starving so we skipped appetizers and just got tacos. Seafood tacos are my fave. I decided to get the crispy local fish and shrimp a la plancha. Both were excellent. The fish was indeed crisp and flaky and topped with a heap of crunchy pickled cabbage and a very generous squeeze of jalapeño mayo(the more the better!). The shrimp was even better — very messy to eat but juicy and fresh and packed a ton of heat. I ended up getting another one because it was that good. Docked a star because they were definitely pricey for tacos — $ 5 – 6 per is steep. I didn’t realize Tacombi was a chain though with locations throughout the city — I’ll probably check one out at some point to compare. The tacos were good enough for a repeat visit.

Food looked great, but unfortunately it took about 10 minutes to be waited on in a more or less empty restaurant. Next time we’re in Montauk, I suppose.

Wanted a quick bite for lunch, and MAN was this place insanely good! The food was amazing, the staff was super friendly, and the place was just packed and had a great atmosphere. I’m not the biggest lover of tacos, but this place definitely made me want more. Can’t wait to go back again!

Stopped in for lunch because we already were familiar with the Tacombi locations in NYC. The staff was super friendly here. The tacos on the menu here incorporate more fish, which is cool. They messed up our order but the guacamole, tacos, and hot sauces were so good that they still get 4 stars.

Initial review: Tacos were pretty tasty… the three out of the five tacos my husband ordered. I don’t know what happened to the other two because they weren’t in the bag by the time we checked far far away. Also, the quesadillas were tiny. One was just a single tortilla(taco-sizes) folded in half with a thin layer of cheese inside the fold. Garnished with like two slivers of pickled onion on top. I feel like we were ripped off here. My stomach was growling hours later. Not just from hunger. Edit: The General Manager contacted me with an apology and offer right after posting this review.(Apparently, it was their first day!) I was quite touched, and have changed my rating. Unfortunately, I’m like 100+ miles away now. We’ll be back one day, two tacos. We’ll be back. P. S. The fish taco was quite tasty. My toddler son liked it.

I was so sooo excited when la brisas opened in montauk! I’m a lover of Tacombi in NYC and la Brisas lives up to the Tacombi name. We did a few grab-n-go orders and took our tacos to the beach… Such a great change up from just fish and chips! But the space itself is great. A very open and airy design with fun décor that makes me feel like I stepped into a vacation in Mexico! The staff is really sweet and helpful and the pricing is okay. Its montauk so I think unless you go for a slice of pizza every day(but who on earth comes out to the hamptons to do that??) everything is pricy. But the quality of La Brisa’s food is an amazing compliment to sitting on the beach! I highly recommend their Mexican corn and their fried fish taco! Definitely my favorites! And try the fresh watermelon juice too!

Went to La Brisa in hopes of getting some good fish tacos and a couple of drinks. The décor is what drew me to the place, very cute, tidy, and retro-like. The $ 12 drink served to me in a tiny plastic cup was not delicious nor worth the money. $ 12 for guacamole and I’m expecting a huge bowl of flavorful stuff. It was just mashed avocados. No tomatoes, no onions, no additions. Maybe one mashed avocado served on a 5 inch round plastic plate. My boyfriend said it looked like it came out of a bag. But, with the addition of the salsa on the table, it was tasty. The homemade tortilla chips were excellent. For dinner we got the cheese quesadilla and tile fish tacos. The tacos were good, not phenomenal, and very small for the price. The $ 8 quesadilla was actually just the size of one-quarter of a typical size quesadilla. 2 small pieces. No sour cream or guacamole comes with it, just pico and pickled onions. Not bad though. Overall, good food that is ridiculously overpriced. Our bill came to $ 68 dollars for a quesadilla, one order of tacos, 2 drinks and guacamole.

This colorful Mexican eatery is very popular in the late afternoon. We got there for a late lunch and it was initially dead and then while we sat there and sampled the goods… it filled up. The guacamole is not worth the money. Actually none of this cuisine is worth the price. It was fresh and bland. The chips are good. The green salsa sauce makes up for the fact that I’m not tasting much outside of the clean fat taste of avocados. Its speckled with something green that doesn’t add anything to the guacamole itself. The corn is fresh and the queso/mayo combination is good enough for the craving. The fish tacos(the fried ones our waiter was over the moon about) are kind of bland. The flavored mayo helps a bit and the crisp of the red cabbage helps also(which I like) but what really helped a lot with this meal was the spicy red salsa sauce and the green one as well. I about poured half of this on my meal. This doesn’t bode well for the actual taste of the dishes. The shrimp in its habanero flavoring is actually quite good. We wanted to taste the lobster but it was out that day. I’d say once here is enough for me.

I’ve been coming to Montauk for a couple of years and love the influx of new restaurants. So on my first night out with the fam, we needed a place to eat and grab a drink and thought this would be a good place to try based on the cool Latin feel. Boy was I in for a rude awakening, To start the service was atrocious — we had to beg to be served and this was with 6 servers wondering around doing nothing. Once we were able to flag down a waitress, we decided to order a couple of Margaritas. At a hefty price of $ 14 per we expected a libation that would make us feel transported to Mexico. What we received was a plastic cup of margarita on the rocks that was more akin to a shot of tequila than an adult drink. And it tastes like the Margarita I mixed at my fraternity back in college. For dinner, we ordered tacos(because there is nothing else to order on the menu) and were served 3 measly tacos — I had shrimp, while wife had the steak tacos. Needless today they were underwhelming. They were not terrible but again when you’re paying $ 17 for tacos you’d expect a little more than tortilla with shrimp and onions served on a plastic plate. To top it off, we were handed a bill that was astronomical for tacos and a couple of Margaritas. This after waiting around for 10 minutes unattended. I’d advise everyone to avoid this place however I doubt they’ll be around very long. You can find much better in Montauk. For dinner, we ordered Tacos(because there was nothing else on the menu)

I had high hopes for La Brisa when I arrived, and unfortunately it left much to be desired. First, what I liked was the aesthetic of the place– the big glass windows, white tiles, and colorful murals were a touch of old school 50’s flare, strangely pre-Castro Cuban in nature, but still relaxed and summery, right in line with Montauk’s overall feel. The music was decent, a jangly summer lo-fi soundtrack with some Beck, Black Keys, and Modest Mouse cuts; but some lilts with shamelessly dour hipster drivel. I personally would have put on some more Latin-flaired tunes or some vintage R&B, but it was still fine. The service was helpful and friendly, as well as attentive– but the staff appeared sparse given the size of the place. What turned out to be an early peak was their selection of homemade juice drinks. I tried the Pina and Ginger– pineapple, ginger ale and mint. It was very refreshing, with the snap of the ginger ale cutting through the sweetness of the pineapple, the mint provided a cool aftertaste. I very much relished in the summery feel of the beverage and it raised my hopes for the food. Now the food, however, was where I found myself underwhelmed. I ordered the locally-caught fluke tacos, and I received 3 small soft tacos as per the description on the menu. The tortillas were a bit firm and lacked fluff, and were colder than the contents. The fluke, while cooked perfectly, was nearly completely burned out by a gratuitous abundance of jalapeños, onion, and cayenne. I tasted the steak and chicken versions of my taco that my family ordered, and found a similar amount of profuse spice in theirs, with the steak having the most natural taste, which was passable, but not great. The Mexican corn on the cob was also generously speckled with cayenne and paprika, making it as difficult to enjoy as the other dishes. I enjoy spice, I tend to add Tabasco to many Latin dishes, but this was simply overkill. Perhaps I caught La Brisa on an off night, so I might return on a whim in the future, but the quality I received was, in my opinion, not worth the prices charged. I’d like to see if I can get their juices to go, that seemed to be the only culinary bit they got right my visit.

Besides the amazing lobster rolls, this was the best meal I had in Montauk! I love Brisa! The restaurant is right in the center of downtown Montauk, conveniently located within walking distance to many of the motels and hotels on the beach. I stayed at Montauk Blue and walked over in a few minutes. I tried the crispy fish taco and it was fabulous. 3 came per order. It was loaded up with red cabbage, which added taste, color, and crunch. On the table are hot sauces, and tried each one; loved them all. I also tried the freshly squeezed watermelon juice, and it was absolutely amazing. I noticed they serve breakfast now too, so would love to try their morning selections someday. There are blue outdoor tables, so you can munch while people watching, as folks stroll down Montauk Highway. The inside has great décor as well, and the whole restaurant is fronted with full length windows, so you can see in and out to watch the scene. There is lots of seating. I went at 8pm and there were only 3 or 4 tables occupied, so I was seated immediately(it was a foggy day, so I found no crowds anywhere I went the whole week). Service was superb. My order took took too long to get to me, and they actually offered to pay for them for me. I couldn’t do that, so I consented to a free watermelon juice. Now that is something! I didn’t even say anything — they noticed and went out of their way to make me happy. Now THAT is a good restaurant. My bill came to $ 16.24. Worth every penny. Next time I make it out to Montauk, I am DEFINITELY going back here. The tacos are so delicious, it is almost worth the 3 hour drive to devour them!

This place is totally over priced. We ordered the ceviche, fish tacos, veggie tacos and corn. The corn was actually my favorite part. The flavor of the food was ok, but the presentation and service were really lacking. The corn came over full in a paper cup and made a mess about the table, something a simple saucer could have solved. The«crispy» fish tacos which the manager recommended were totally mushy because of too much of way too much sauce. The ambiance in here is so nice and the menu sounds great, but the food was lacking while the high prices were not.
