Our fourth visit here did not disappoint. We really love the food and choices here. The prices are right and the waitstaff is always accommodating. The pulled pork and grilled tuna were highlights and we love doing the s’mores around the great wood burning fire.

Been coming here for years. Never seen a kitchen restaurant cleaner. Rick has often given us a tour, being proud of the cleanliness. Food decent, prices fine for Montauk. Great place to sit outside and watch the planes and boats. Most patrons laid back, don’t go if you are expecting fancy Hamptons. Rick is probably the friendliest restaurant owner I’ve met. The onion rings are well worth having! And, of course, the fish is good. Never had the ribs, as I try to do all fish/seafood when in Montauk.

After reviewing the restaurant’s menu beforehand it seemed like this restaurant would be a great choice. Unfortunately the experience was anything but great. It was WAYWAY over priced for the poor quality of food that we received. What a disappoint. The only thing that was really tasty were the clams on a half shell and the coleslaw. The Stuffed flounder with crabmeat stuffing was saturated in butter destroying the flavor of the fish which was retuned. The Lobster role was tasty but the entrée portion was so small that it was litterally three full fork bites on a hotdog bun. And finally my dish the Clam bake bowl were about three clams, some small muscles, two small scallops, two delicious shrimp, some horrible steamers which were the dominant ingredient. Why it is called a Clam bowl I have no idea. The waiter was nice though and seemed apologetic to the way the food was coming out of the kitchen. I have to say the menu is misleading and definitely NOT worth the price.

I wish this place had better food and service because the ambience is so cool! Great outdoor spot on the beach with picnic tables and fire pits for roasting s’mores. Unfortunately, the lobster was tough, the wine selection was really lacking, and the service was worse than a school cafeteria!

Went there today for lunch and while it’s off the beaten path it is worth the trip. We went with 4 kids(my nieces and nephews are 1,3,4, and 7) and they were very accommodating. Of course I had to have the frozen margarita(ended up being 3 by the end whoops) and started with Montauk Pearl Oysters and clams on the half shell. The oysters were served with a white mignonette which was ABSOLUTELY incredible. For the main course I had the clam bake bowl priced at around $ 17 dollars and it was worth it. It was a hearty bowl of little neck clams, mussels, steamers and shrimp in a wine broth served with a side of clarified butter, extra broth, a small Italian loaf AND french fries. It was absolutely delicious and definitely a bargain for what you were getting. I honestly don’t understand the low reviews on here. The staff was so friendly and the view of the water and gone fishing marina was just beautiful. I would say its the best place we’ve eaten in Montauk and that includes some of the fancier places. If you have kids this place should be a must eat.

For any pilots looking for another $ 100 hamburger destination in the northeast, I highly recommend this roadside cute restaurant that’s literally across the street from the airport. Aside from the typical Steamers, clams, wings you can expect, they also serve an amazing Lobster Roll. This is the diametrically opposite of the«douche» Hampton wanna be crowd; instead come here for delicious seafood and chill with a friendly accommodating staff as well as some locals that practically«lives» there.

If ever in Montauk with a big group this is the best place to go. They can accommodate any size inside or out. It is causal and the atmosphere is overall fun. Among all of us we had lobsters, ribs, and the pulled pork. Everyone liked their meals and the service was really friendly. Is it trendy and upscale? No but that is not why you come here(or Montauk for that matter).

Great for kids. Tons a room to run around and watch the boats. Staff was super friendly and service was great. Is it the best food in MTK, no but it’s a trade off for the kids. Will be back.

Originally we had a reservation for this place and cancelled it after reading several reviews about how disrespectful and obnoxious the owner and staff are! We ended up going without a reservation and really happy we did! The staff are pretty much all Irish and certainly care about their patrons! They were very accommodating to our family and took great care if my daughters needs! She wanted oyster crackers and nothing else! They were very nice in bringing over a ton of crackers! Rick was very nice he approached our table and I was ready to be combative following the reviews but he welcomed us with open arms and a great personality! We had the crab cakes and oysters! Both very good and delicious! Overall a great dinning experience!

Good location in a quieter part of Montauk. Located right off Lake Montauk across from the small airport you can grab an outdoor seat and watch the small planes fly right over you. Though not healthy, the corn fritters are awesome. They’re like fried lumps of creamed corn and completely addictive. Pretty good fish and chips and fresh flounder. Service is very friendly and prices are a little high for dinner but that’s to be expected due to location.

Great location and GREAT food. My husband had the pork combo(pulled pork and St. Louis ribs) and as a pretty picky BBQ person he loved it. Unique great BBQ sauce. I had the scallops which were phenomenal. The best part is their oysters. They have an oyster happy hour everyday 4 – 5:30 which we went back for later in the week. They also have bonfires with snores which makes it a very relaxing and low key place to hang out after the meal. The only negative was the service was a bit slow especially compared to other restaurants in the area.

In a town of solid restaurants and friendly proprietors, Rick’s stands out head and shoulders above all. First, it’s the best clam chowder in Montauk. Don’t be fooled by its informal ambience. Second, it’s informal ambience means that a fun night will be had by all. Third, the Seafood’s just great. Fourth, who doesn’t like to toast a marshmallow after dinner on one of the many open fires? This place just radiates all of the qualities that brought you to Montauk in the first place. Most important, the owner is hands on and a super nice person. He will likely introduce yourself and, whether you’re 1 to 101, you’ll feel welcome.

Very pricey for greasy food. The waitress didn’t understand us. Couldn’t take an order. We had to get someone to help her. Mistaking fried clam platter for bakes clams. She didn’t understand the chicken finger platter for the kids were dinner. The food was questionable. Except for. The steamers. They were fabulous. All else failed! Save you money!

It’s the place to come if you’re island-hoppin’ in Long Island Sound and flying in for lunch… just walk across the street from the airport, sit down and eat… Menu is somewhat limited, and you pay the price for eating next to the airport and the marina. Fun to sit in the summer time and watch the planes and boats… There are always a bunch of dogs hanging, running around the outdoor eating area.

I have never been as offended as I was while attempting to dine at Rick’s Crabby Cowboy Café and Marina. After an hour and a half, my table had yet to receive our entrees or any sort of mercy from the staff and, worst of all, the manager Rick. Upon bringing our dismay to the attention of Rick, he was unapologetically apathetic and proceeded to burst into a rage throwing my friend’s entrée that had just arrived on the floor demanding we leave while spewing expletives. Needless to say, I had no issue storming out of this poorly run establishment and never looking back. I will absolutely be returning to Montauk in the future but will never set foot near Rick’s again. If you take a risk by going to Rick’s, be prepared for poor treatment and service that abuts harrassment. I would advise you to be weary of over the top positive reviews that were arguably planted to offset the alarmingly low reviews that also reference Rick’s behavior and poor service.

Rick’s Crabby Cowboy Café is one of my family’s favorite place to come every summer when we vacation in Montauk. We always had such a fantastic experience here, and last night was no exception. Not only was the food and staff wonderful as usual, but the orange and purple sunset over the marina provided a particularly beautiful setting. The band that was playing last night was awesome and my kids loved getting to run out and dance with all the other happy people on the dance floor. After dinner we always like to go sit around the fire pits together and roast marshmallows. Although the crowd did start to get a little rowdy as the night went on, the staff remained gracious and friendly. The owner, Rick, was also very hospitable and came over to make sure my family and the other parties around us were happy with our meals and everything. I would recommend the Crabby Cowboy to anyone looking to have a fun, laid back evening out with good food and people. Can’t wait to come back next summer!
