Sucks that this place doesn’t pull it together. Came for my boyfriends birthday yesterday, and after waiting 20 min they tell us that one of the chefs went home so that we would be seated but would need to wait another 40 min until we were able to eat. Our miso soups were filled a quarter of the way full and also lukewarm. Tiny appetizers for the price. The chef was great and our dinner was very good. The service here sucks, very rude waitress. Hopefully they get some new staff and figure something out.

This used to be our favorite sushi spot in Modesto, and it was fantastic, but since Maisie retired the quality is not the same and the kid who runs the sushi bar now is rude, painfully slow and unskilled.
I have only used the sushi bar and do not know if the regular chefs are good or not, but I was so disappointed in the new service the last couple of times that I will not go here anymore.

Horrible customer service we had a reservation at 6:30 and weren’t seated until 7:45 smh don’t ever come here but the karaōke might be cool

I made a reservation THREE weeks ahead of time for 15 people at 8pm. It was my 31^st bday party. We got there about 20mins early and checked in. They said it would be about 30mins. No problem, because we were early and it was a Friday night. Well 30mins turned into 90mins. The manager/​hostess was incredibly rude. She didn’t acknowledge people who were trying to check in. If someone asked her for an update, she was so snippy and rude people were taken aback. My friend mentioned to her that my reservations were for 8pm (it was 9pm at that time!) and her response was «AND?» before walking away. Finally, after an hour and a half from when we first checked in, she took us back to a table, for 10 people. I told her we had 15. Reservations for 15. She then showed me a «room» that would be all ours. The only catch was that room was still filled with people who were just getting their food cooked in front of them. So it would have been another 45min minimum wait. We left without being seated or even looking at a menu. I will never, ever go back to this place. What is the point of even making a reservation of you’re not going to be seated over 2hrs later. This place is seriously unorganized.

You’d think after all these horrible reviews that the manager would make an effort to fix the service. Here right now and have been waiting two hours to eat after putting in a reservation! Obviously Highly mismanaged. The staff must not be held accountable for the horrible service. Nothing else explains it happening so often to so many people… approaching 3 hour wait… half of birthday party has already departed. Never coming here again. Is it possible to give 0 stars.

The WORST restaurant experience I have ever had. And have still yet to receive any food… Over TWO and a half hours after arriving for our reservation time on a Wednesday night. Service is Horrendous. I think anyone should be a bit forgiving when restaurants are clearly understaffed, however this is beyond unacceptable, especially when reservations were made in advance for a large party. Can’t speak about the food, since it has yet to arrive, but the place is disgusting. Just plain dirty. Would have left long ago if this weren’t for a friends birthday.
UPDATE: did eventually leave with no food. Had waited to be seated for over an hour, waited about half an hour to order, then over another hour for the chef to ever even come in the room (this is a teppanyaki style restaurant, so they cook in front of you, but never saw the chef, as we left). So ridiculous.

Horrible experience. Shrimp and fish was way too fishy and service was horrible. I use to love this place. It’s gone so down hill.

My husband and I went here for the first time tonight and the food was on point! We ordered the pot stickers (sauce was a toasted sesame sauce) delish! And the sushi was the perfect size and texture. We had t sit at the bar because it was so packed. The only thing I can say is that the hostess can be more organized. She was kind of a mess. But we can definitely get over that good vibe and karaōke!

I couldn’t agree more with Julie J. This place is seriously DISGUSTING! Let’s start with the women’s restroom: the floor is greasier than the fry area at a McDonald’s during rush hour, second it was FILTHY, there was toilet seat covers and toilet paper strewn everywhere, third not only was a handle missing on one of the faucets, but the front of the sink area had been demolished. Luckily, my party was at the bar when I walked out of the restroom or else I would have been waiting forever for the non-​existent hostess. When we asked the bartender about the lack of a hostess he stated that he would help us. Our party ordered a round of pretty usual drinks in which the bartender was very light handed, as well, he forgot parts of the drink all together. When we were seated, we immediately noticed that there were dirty plastic plates in front of us. Now, usually I wouldn’t mention the type of plate we had, accept for the fact these plastic plates were basically purchased from Walmart. That’s pretty sad when you consider that we pay $ 20+pp for the meal. When we ordered we had decided to add a side of gyoza as a appetizer. When the miso soup came out, not only was it luke warm, the bowls were also over half empty. When our «chef» came to cook for us he immediately was followed by a corona (no big deal I guess) but the further in the meal we got the more we noticed he was more into getting free shots than he was into actually entertaining. And just a tip… lay off saying «Unnnnnnnnnn» like master P. Please stop trying to act like master P because we know you’re not him. When they started cooking the shrimp for the meal I noticed one big (disgusting) flaw… the shrimp was not deveined. That instantly ruined the meal for me. I dont know how you’re going to charge someone $ 20 for steak and shrimp with veins still in the shrimp. Between that and the «manager» running around in basketball shorts I was completely turned off by the meal. Oh, and the gyoza arrived after we had received the check (you almost forgot about it didn’t you? Because I know I had). Honestly, this place used to be the place to go in Modesto and it was actually good at one time. It’s now become a shell of its former self with sad, careless employees and management who run around looking as if they just came from hanging with their bros. if you want extremely overpriced «food» and «drinks» then by all means come here. I will personally be calling the health inspector tomorrow when they open.

Disappointing. EXTREMELY dirty in here! Karaōke area chairs are all torn. I’m posting some pics of the filth. They seated us in the teppanyaki area, and the other side hadn’t been cleaned from the previous group, and there’s rice, zucchini, and silverware on the floor. Our feet are sticking and sliding on the grimy concrete floor. Tried to order a simple staple cocktail (for which we named the ingredients), and the bartender didn’t even know what cream of coconut was. Tried ordering a California roll, but their sushi chef «called in sick». We’ll pass on coming here again.

Very disappointing. We arrived last Friday to see how long the wait would be. We had time to have a drink, watch a couple of songs of karaōke and no one ever came to the front. 3 other parties came in, waited and left. We finally left after about 25 minutes.
Besides this, looking worn and grungy inside so will think twice before going again. Too bad. They used to be fun and good service. Met the owners who were very sweet s few times before.

Service was terrible! Reservations at 7:30 and 10:30 we still had no eaten yet. Group across from us was served and cooked for while we sat and watched. No one ever came and took drink orders. Hostess and servers were very rude. Our group finally got up and left with out eating. Terrible I don’t know how this place is in business still.

Made a reservation for an office party on a week night. We were all seated together on time, no wait. They catered to all our food requests .
Cooks were really entertaining and nice (all stars for them)
They did try their best to accommodate my vegan requests, they made sepArate fried rice without eggs for me. They made the veggies first and didn’t mix it with the meats etc .
Good experience overall.
Host was attentive. Some waitstaff kept forgetting our starter orders (but with 20 people I don’t blame her)
They do use butter to cook a lot of their food so not vegan friendly but vegetarian friendly. (I do not know if they will cook without butter)

We went to Tori’s last night for our company Christmas party… it was amazing and so much fun. Our waiter was great and so helpful. Our cook was so entertaining and they food was delicious! My husband and I will defiantly be coming back again!

Staff was awful, despite reservations seated others well before us after they forgot about us. Once we were seated they forgot about us several times and service was all in all pretty bad. On top of that food was rather tasteless and sort of blain.

I find it strange that this place doesn’t have at least 4 ½ stars. I have been coming here for many different occasions over the years and I’ve never been disappointed. The chefs are entertaining and they serve excellent food. I recommend you either get the steak (prime rib or filet mignon) or chicken entrees. Yes, the prices are around 15 dollars a meal but you truly do get what you pay for. The karaōke is always a great way to start or end the night. Definitely recommend!

The drinks are really good.
I like the liquor ratio in the drinks.
The food is a lil pricey and could be better.
Karaōke guy is great, he sings and he makes sure you get a song in there.
The no dancing rule seems a bit much tho.
I could understand no cussing but the no dancing, man.
The thing I like about these karaōke spots is they are open to all ages.
All the rules kinda take a bit of the fun out of it.
Service was a bit meh.

Kind of hard to find looks more like a night club from entrance — sign very dark red tucked in a corner no windows. Bar area is front of place sushi bar and grills ticked off in back.
Place is so extremely loud at 8pm between everyone around grills and the bar with karaōke at the front of the place could hardly here person sitting next to you.
The cram two grills into a partitioned off room they sat 3 of us at the every end where there was enough room for two to sit comfortable along with 3 other people to the right of us. There was already a party of 13 sitting in the same room.
Service was extremely slow — we ordered some sushi and an appetizer which all came out when the chef started cooking the food — so needless to say we had so much crammed in front of us we could barely move. Cleared table quickly but never bothered to ask if we needed anything else to drink. My friend had to finally go hunt the waitress down so I could get some water — when she came back all she wanted to know is if we where done and needed boxes. Never felt so rushed through a meal.
Food was decent — over salted with what the chef cooked on grill. Chef was very friendly and entertaining… The other party keep complaining their chef wasn’t as fun. Sushi ok not the freshest I have had and rolls where pretty loose fell apart when pick up and 90% rice. Would be nice if they cooked fried rice on grill or at least heated it up. Was cold and mushy.
Place could use a good cleaning. Would be nice if they sweep up the zucchini from the floor from the people before us not fun to step on. Table around grill is horrible dirty very gross.
Tried a new place and prob won’t be back unfortunately.
