Sorry saw the review on Unilocal … Look good ! Waiting for 45 mins for food and our servers not good at all. I had to flag down our server to see if we could place a order. First and last time I will be coming here to this place.

I’ve been going here for years. But haven’t been in the last couple… I like the new upgrades with the plates and décor. Wonderful food as always!

I love the food and the service here! Always an amazing time and well worth the wait at times. Although I usually sit at the bar so it’s pretty quick in and out! The sushi is the best around and I love their salmon teriyaki lunch special! Great prices too!

This is my most favorite sushi restaurant ever! I have to eat gluten free and they take good care of me! They adapt anything I order to make sure it’s gluten free & they even have gluten free soy sauce! They are always fast and friendly! I highly recommend the SUSHIGARDEN to everyone looking for fresh and delicious Japanese food!

Love this place. They always have fresh fish. Fresh food and a clean restaurant. Other sushi places in the area aren’t as fresh. They always have good service too.

I love this place. They’re kinda expensive but the sushi is delicious! I always order the«Big Fred» which isn’t on the menu. One of the sushi… Makers… Is Fred and if he’s there, order it! It’s absolutely delicious! In addition, all of their fish tastes fresh. As far as their chicken teriyaki and salmon(or basically anything other than sushi) goes, it’s ehhh… Not so good! Usually dry and plain. Let’s keep in mind: THISIS A SUSHIBAR. So order sushi. It’s good. If you don’t want sushi and you order a meal like chicken, you’ll probably be disappointed…

Me and my mom got horrible food poisoning. Beware, I will never go here again. I can’t even eat sushi again because of this place.

I stopped by Sushi Garden today after work to try their teriyaki chicken most of my coworkers had been raving about. I entered and was quickly seated. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and a hot tea. Shortly after my tea and my food arrived. The presentation of the food was great. Upon taking my first bite, I noticed that the chicken was tough. I selected another piece and it was also very tough. At this point I informed my waitress who stated: «the white meat always come out dry». I wish she would have informed me of this prior to ordering. I ended up paying $ 12.00 for a meal I couldn’t eat. It was literally a choking hazard.

Out of all the sushi restaurants in modesto this one was the worst. The outside and décor was put together but their food was completely intolerable. We ordered the scallops and sautéed mushrooms and well the scallops were frozen and chewy like erasers, and the mushrooms were basically cooked in broth and then served to us. Water is tap. Mind you it took us 30 min to receive our main entrée. Just was really disappointed because as a sushi restaurant you’d think they had fresh products and with the frozen scallops and imitation crab meat it ruined the sushi feel. Don’t go here go across the street to umi sushi they are the best with fresh products!

Food is always good. Fast, friendly service. Tako is fresh! And the Tako Kimchee is divine! They have super huge portions at a very affordable price. Miso soup is included with every meal. Quality is always consistent and top notch! This is our go-to place when we need a sushi fix. Why go anywhere else?

This was my frost time at this location. I usually go to the second location in Turlock. This place has much more room and bright with natural light. We were one of the frost customers as they opened at 11:30 and had to wait just a little. I love how we always get soup no matter what we order. We got our order quickly and we’re not disappointed. Even after our tab was taken care of, we sat around and chatted. We did not feel like we were being pushed to leave and that the restaurant wanted to kick us out. I was very happy I got a chance to visit this location.

I love this place. The portion sizes are so big, the price is on point and the service is great. Lunch menu isn’t huge but it’s straight to the point. Where can you get a good meal for $ 8.50 and have left over food? Can’t beat it. When in the area and craving Japanese Food you’ll find me here.

First off, let me preface this review by saying that I judge sushi by what I grew up eating in Orange County and San Francisco. Perhaps my perception is a bit skewed, as I’m used to high standards and quality. That being said: Let me start with the positives. The water was clear and tasted good. Okay, that’s not right. My two stars are mainly for the good service and what I feel was mediocre sushi. Not the worst I’ve had, but far from the best. We ordered seven different rolls and the tempura vegetables. I didn’t feel like the fish was fresh or necessarily sushi grade; the color was off, it had no flavor and it was cut too thick for the rolls. Also, the ginger was a strange pink color and kind of off-putting. I wouldn’t willingly go back there for the sushi, but hey, I live in Patterson now and options are limited. For everything. All in all, I’m surprised I didn’t get food poisoning to be honest. I was a little sketchy about my five year old eating here, but she only ate the shrimp and vegetable tempura, which was actually pretty good. What I took away from this place was fish that wasn’t fresh, heavy sauces with too much mayo, very old and dilapidated menus and décor, and not a lot of value for the money. Our waitress was great and the food came out relatively fast, but I just wouldn’t go back here or recommend it to others. Take my review for what it’s worth. I’m a food snob.

This restaurant is one of the best in Modesto. I’ve been to other sushi restaurants around the area and nothing really compares. I’ve gone in several times and haven’t had a bad experience yet. I went in today with family for an early Mother’s Day dinner. Matthew, our server, was very attentive and kept checking on our table to put our order in and to see if we were good on water and tea. As for the food, everything was delicious yet again. The tako kimchee and edamame were tasty appetizers. One thing I love about this place is they let you create your own roll, and portions are always huge. One roll I would definitely recommend is the Lobster Roll, which is on their special menu. It’s a bit pricy, but I think it’s worth every single cent. Other rolls that I have ordered before include the Tiger roll, Spider roll, Dragon roll, and their Curry roll. You can’t go wrong with any of your choices. I can’t wait to go back again.

Visited on 2÷10÷15. Arrived at 2:10pm. I walked in and waited a bit before someone came up to seat me. I told the lady that I was meeting a friend. She looked at the clock then suggested I call my friend to see what she wanted to order since they’d be closing soon. It was my first time there and I had no idea they closed at 2:15. They had quite a few clients still so I decided to sit down and give it a shot. They brought out miso soup before we even ordered. Not sure if that’s typical, but I suspect it was to get us going. The food came out promptly. It was good. A while later she brought the check and then a few minutes later returned to advise us they needed to close the register and if we wanted to pay. Not sure if I’ll be back.

This place is my go to for sushi whenever I’m in Modesto! They are who I grade everyone else against! Yes, they are that good. The reason why only 4 stars is in case I get floored and wowed and amazed. I have to leave room for the crazy ass exceptional! That being said, these guys are consistently wonderful! The staff is friendly, and the owners are real Japanese who know what Japanese food should taste like. My comfort food and comfort restaurant in Modesto. If I could I would give it 4.5 stars! I am not a huge fan of the fancy rolls. I love my sashimi and as a result I love the chirashi dinner. For rolls I love my light and fresh lomilomi roll which has a little bit of a kick due to the chili oil! The other cooked items are always 4 stars, my kids are in love with the pot stickers. I’ve had the udon and it was exactly as it should taste! The miso soup is a cup of warmth which whets your appetite for the food to come, a good opener that all sushi restaurants must have in order to even be considered for 4 stars.

Really, this is such an awesome sushi restaurant and every time we come they have never disappointed us! Fresh fish and the rolls are fun and you do get what you pay for here. I LOVE the sashimi and although I have only had it once(hubby won’t mess with raw lol) I can’t wait to bring my sisters(who enjoy raw) and try the huge sashimi sampler. It can get a little pricey, BUT for good quality sushi, it is worth it. Service has been sorta hit and miss, but I think it’s because whenever we came it’s at lunch rush(it gets PACKED) and then dinner rush lol.
