I’m trying to debate how I want to go about this. I literally just came from Sonic about a couple hours ago. So night-time waits are already pretty. But the drive-thru gave me the wrong order so it was an extra long wait. The car behind me started honking excessively to the point where other cars started honking as if I just wasn’t moving for no reason when I didn’t even have my food yet. Everything about this part was fucking ridiculous. I’m just going to avoid all details about almost fighting somebody in the Sonic Drive Thru. Point is, the workers were inside just watching rather than speeding it up when all these cars were going off. I can’t put all the blame on the workers. I can definitely put most of it on impatient bastards. But I’m never going back here. That’s for sure.

This place is slow, I just walked up and pressed the button, it took them at least 4 – 5 minutes just to answer and take my order. Then I waited 15 more minutes for a Chicago Dog and a Cheese Burger. Although my order was fine and tasty. I probably will not return to this Sonic location. If I want to wait around for food that long I’ll go sit down at a restaurant and get waited on.

Terrible. Waited at my car in two locations pressing the help button multiple times, no response. Waited in line at the drive thru after for 17 minutes, for two corn dogs and a slush drink. Once I could see inside, two young ladies one blonde one with brown hair stood there socalizing while people waited. Once I got to the window, neither could recollect what I had actually ordered. So terrible. so so terrible…

**HORRIBLE** Only ordered a small shake a medium shake a corn dog & grilled cheese. Waited 25 minutes. The car that pulled in after us got their order while we sat still waiting. Finally left there couldn’t be a milk shake good enough to wait that long. To top it off there was only 3 cars parked!

Love the drinks and popcorn chicken. I live close by but this place is soooooooooo slow. I wait in the drive thru line for 30 mins just for 2 drinks. I don’t waste my time here anymore I drive down to the one on Orangeburg

I was wondering I don’t see a lot of cars at the drive-in. It’s very scary to eat here. Don’t even try to dine. A lot of panhandlers in the daytime. If your are really hungry just go to the drive thru.

I’ve had there drinks and food before. I tried their peach slush today. It was wasn’t very peachy. I like their shakes, chicken wraps, hot dogs, and their cookie dough shakes are devine. Just bummed that today wasn’t my day to have something yummy there. I’ll be back to try something different next time. Don’t worry Sonic, I’m not giving up on you.

We always think of sonic for shakes and our cool happy hour drinks. For summer it is always somewhere we often visit. Normally happy. Very long waits. When happy hour is in effect. Today I treated my whole family out. I treated them to shakes and I ordered a sonic blast. They forgot my order. I was super bummed. But I’m going back to get my correct order. My rating will go to a five. Depending on how they resolve my wrong order. Update. We drove back to get our correct drink order. And the lady we talked to first. Accused us of lying. Then she said we picked the drink up off of the floor. Pretty much telling us we picked up someone’s trash. Although we were returning an oreo shake. For the snickers blast. That isn’t part of half price. Showing her the receipt. She was still thinking we were lying. Until the cashier that handed us our drinks and took our order initially overheard what was happening and said she remembered us and she had to tell us sorry for the mess up. Then she corrected our order. Shouldn’t it have been that easy from the beginning? Lost a star.

I’ll always have memories of roller skates, juke boxes, and drive-ins, but this place needs to get back to the future. The speaker box is inaudible. All I heard was blah blah blah blah, and all I understood was the total. There’s no electronic board that shows your order, unheard of in modern times. The drive thru line moved slower than a snail even though there were only two cars ahead of us, and there was only one employee visible inside. Does the drive thru person also make the food? I certainly hope not. The one positive is that there is a wide variety of hot dogs, and the one I got was good. They get 2 stars only because my hot dog was good, but they need to hire some people and get their asses moving!

If you want to wait in line for 30 mins for a slushy when it’s not even happy hour & when there’s only 2 cars in front of you this is the place to go! There was a red/orange haired girl who was super rude & not very knowledgeable about her job. We were at the window for about 10 mins & she went to the back for the longest time just to come back giggling & to make our drinks while there was a blonde headed chick in the back throwing French fires at another employee & at that point there was about 4 – 5 cars behind us. If we hadn’t already paid we would’ve left after we seen them throwing French fires at each other totally unprofessional service

I’m sorry but is the same person taking the drive thru orders, charging the customers and cooking the food as well? Slowest service ever! Never coming back to this location. No stars deserved at all. There is a reason this location is poorly reviewed and i believe it’s time someone stepped in to fix this serious problem.

This restaurant needs serious help! It is the slowest place ever to get your food from! Waited in line just for two drinks and of course they couldn’t even get those right! Countless cars left the drive thru line because of the wait! Their Corporate office needs to come in and majorly change things. I’m surprised it’s not shut done yet. Last time I’ll be going to that place! This place deserves NO stars but I’m forced to give one.

I suggest bringing something with you if you plan on coming here with an open heart and a day with absolutely no plans. You might want a book that you’ve never gotten around to reading, or maybe a sweater that you’ve been meaning to knit. Weather it’s a milk shake in the drive-thru or a hot dog in the car hop, you will only be waiting here forever. Sonic good my ass.

If I could give this no stars, I would. Horrible service as far as getting food in timely manner and getting order correctly. My kids asked for plain burger and after getting it 40 minutes later it had everything on it. On top of the wait time, my wife and I had to go ask where’s our food at for them to bring or acknowledge they had an order to bring. When my kids got there burgers back, it was obvious they had literally wiped off all the mayo ketchup lettuce etc. My bacon pretzel dog had no bacon only onions and bun was stale not to mention cheese was awful. I don’t like Sonic, from a past matter but this is it for me, now I have a bad outlook on all all Sonics

Love this place but seriously this one could use at least 4 more employees for every shift. Everytime we decide to go here for dinner we regret it because it take so long to get food. A sit down dinner takes less time to get your food than this sonic location.

Sonic is a good place to eat, their burgers are good their hot dogs are good and slushes and shakes are good; however they have horrible wait times/customer service. Today we were in the drive thru for 40 minutes! Today wasn’t the only day because every time we go we are waiting for what seems like hours! Don’t go to this place if you’re really hungry because waiting in the drive thru is only going to put you on edge if you easily get irritable like I do when I’m hungry. I don’t understand what seems to take long. Drinks are easy and quick I assume and food, if people have to wait longer for food, perhaps having them pull over to the side so others can get their stuff would help move cars quicker.

Got the chicken strip meal it was ok. And the shake thing I got was even good but my boyfriend got a slushie and it was so nasty. They must not filter their ice at all, it tastes like straight nasty tap, if not worse like disgusting ice machine that’s never been cleaned. Dont know how they can promote drink special happy hours when they taste horrible.

If any Sonic management or member of corporate office ever bothers to visit Unilocal,then I hope you will at the very least read this review. You need to step it up. Severely. I have been to your Merced location and loved it. The shakes were phenomenal, the food was good, and the staff was timely and helpful and got me exactly what I wanted. Great experience. Now we need that kind of service HERE. The food is always sloppily assembled and lacking. The shakes are more like thick milk with some syrups thrown in and not always blended evenly. Don’t get me started on the staff — I’ve worked customer service for five years now, and I’ve had my share of mistakes and brain farts, but when it’s this consistent, it’s ridiculous. I have had to repeat things so many times, corrected them on their mistakes to my orders, from forgotten sauces to giving me jalapeño poppers when I ask for mozzarella sticks. I mean, I work nearby and would like to stop there for a quick lunch or drink so I don’t come back late. But I’ve since learned better than to do that, because this Sonic’s service is somehow ALWAYS slow, whether you drive thru, drive in, or walk up, and even when there’s only a car or two in front of you. I have no idea how this location is still in business when their service(or lack thereof) is so consistently BAD! And it’s not like it’s just one or two individuals, it’s literally anyone that helps you seems to be spacing out or something. Maybe this company doesn’t treat their employees right, because they sure act like they care about effort put into their work. But what do I know, maybe it’s a bigger issue than that. My advice to you, Sonic, is to completely gut out the staff of this store and try again. The only thing I’ll ever buy from this location are their half-priced custom beverages. Those are actually good, but hardly worth risking getting my order wrong or waiting for 20+ minutes. Hire some people from Merced or transfer some from your Merced location, they’re clearly far more competent than wherever you found these employees for your Modesto location on McHenry.
