What a great value for your money! I ordered the shredded beef and marinated crispy tacos. They were absolutely delicious. Not a bad deal for $ 2.50 each. Unilocal says this place is closed but actually it is not. It’s open with lots of customers and serving delicious food. I have a recommend eating here. Please note that the sign says Gilberto’s now.

We ate here 3 times during our few days in Moab — so that should tell you something! Loved that this place was open 24 hours and even during the holidays! The food was really good — carnitas gorditas were my favorite. My husband really liked the burritos. If you are looking for a good meal that won’t break the bank(tough to do in Moab) this is a great option!

This place is awesome. Large menu, cheap prices, and seriously good food. If you’re in the mood for burritos or beans and rice(ideally both) then this is the spot. Also, it’s open 24 hours?! Thank goodness the Moab Brewery was closed tonight or else we would have just driven by Los Jilbertos thinking«oh that looks cool.»

Carnitas tacos — yum! Big, fat, juicy tacos filled with meat. Really good, and I’m a picky Californian. Carne asada taco also good, but I liked the carnitas just a bit more. Good salsa bar!

Just what you need after a long hike. Get the chile relleno. Would have been 5 star but the guac blows. Some creamy, squeezed out, green stuff.

This place is authentic! Some of the best tortillas I’ve ever had(including in Mexico). Definitely can share-the portions are enormous! I can’t stress enough to order the shrimp fajitas.

I’m from San Antonio so I’m hesitant to have Mexican food elsewhere… but Los Jilbertos breakfast burrito(basic egg, bacon, potato, etc) went HARD on a morning I was nursing a hangover. I could only eat half and took the rest to my hotel room companion, who enjoyed the remainder. Bad coffee. Nice staff. Decent interior, clean. Gracias a todos!

Authentic Mexican goodness, complete with salsa bar including green chili, awesome pico de gallo and even fresh pineapple. Every time I drive through town this is our go to place for quick inexpensive but tasty food. We can get in and out quick and back on the road.

So this place is pretty good! The speed of service was not so bad. I highly recommend this place if you want something inexpensive. I had the Carne Asada Taco. It was very large and the toppings were generous. Don’t forget to try a Mexican juice to go with your meal.

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat. Food was just average, maybe that is to be expected from a fast food place. Service is the same. I had the carnitas burrito, despite what other reviewers said. I asked the cashier what the best thing there was, she said carnitas was her favorite. Well, just as others warned, the carnitas was pretty dry. I also tried a machaca burrito. This was was a little better than the carnitas. It was shredded beef and vegetables, and the flavor was good, just not great. Overall, if you want some quick and decent mexican food, this place will do it for you. Just don’t expect too much.

Phenomenal authentic delicious! Real food fish tacos were great, carne asada burrito and tostadas excellent. Hot chips with fresh poco and great salsa. So worth trying. You won’t be disappointed. We just got back from Honduras and it reminds us of the food we had there.

The good: go for breakfast. We got the bacon, egg, potato, and cheese burrito and it was amazing. It’s also double the size of a normal one. So good. The salsa was sub par but if you have your own, it would be amazing. But still really really good. Plus it’s only $ 7 or so. The bad: lunch. We ordered the marinated chicken quesadilla. Maybe the ground chicken would have been better. We saw some folks order those and they seemed happy. We also got cheese enchiladas and ground beef tacos. Both were average. Overall: go for breakfast. You can call in and pick it up.

I’m a Mexican and I can tell you this is a real food from the street, it was very good, the girls are nice and helpful, they give you exactly what you want even. The quantity of food is great and the price amazing.

Rather than Fast Food, I would refer to this as GOODFOOD Fast. Portions were large and all entries can be dressed up as you like at the extensive salsa bar which included fresh pineapple. My carnitas burrito was great and the hard shell taco was not a pre-made shell. You can sit outside in the sun or shade. No beer…

On a recent trip to Utah, we stopped by to Los Jilbertos on random, not sure if it’s the marigold wall but there’s something visually appealing that clinched it to our hungry eyes. I can say fat and generous all day long because every item that we ordered befits a King ‘s meal. We had fish tacos, beef and chicken burritos, and taco salad, which carried us all like satisfied llamas to our arduous hike at Arches National Park. I really don’t have much to say about this place because food nostalgia is sweet and sad. I probably won’t be here again but Los Jilbertos will always be an unforgettable lover.

I have to fight the urge to give this place the dreaded one star review. But I reserve that for the truly horrible experience. This was not a terrible or horrible experience, it was just so blah that two stars is all I can find in my heart, or stomach, to give them. Which is too bad, because it’s a cute little place. If they had good food, it might be even special. But alas, it is not to be. Let’s talk about the good things. Yes, it’s cute. It looks like it belongs in Mexico. Brightly colored, brightly lit inside, and the girls behind the counter were genuinely nice. The menu is extensive. Many many items to choose from. And, to read their offerings on the wall, you might think that they actually know what they’re doing. Not so much. And now the bad. I am the first one to admit that I am a bit of a Mexican food snob. I was raised in Southern California, and my grandmother used to take me to the little food stands on East 1st Street in East LA when I was a young boy. I I am a bit of an aficionado, and I judge any new place by the way they prepare their carnitas. These carnitas were overcooked, dry, on the borderline of being too crispy, and were virtually without flavor. That’s hard to do with pork. They probably cooked all the flavor out of it. Did I mention that they were dry? It took two large sodas to wash it down. I was hungry, but I ended up throwing the last portions away. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but the portions here seem to be quite large. In the case of these carnitas, smaller would have been better. And now, the ugly. The rice and refried beans and guacamole and pico de gallo on the plate, in addition to the sauces that they had at a good looking salsa bar, were utterly flavorless. No taste, bland, the only thing that saved this meal was that they had small bottles of Cholula hot sauce available. It was the only saving grace. Thoroughly disappointing. The more times I go to eat Mexican food in Utah the more I understand that the people who review these restaurants, here on Unilocal, and other places, have absolutely no clue what real Mexican food is supposed to taste like. Really, guys, travel to Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, or the venerable Southern California eateries in East LA. This place, if it was in East Los Angeles, would be shut down in a week.

Los Jibertos, if you’re not familiar with it, is a chain specializing in authentic, snack-type Mexican foods. If you’re a gringo, you can still get your tacos with hard shells, cheese, and other crap in it. But Los Jibertos goes the traditional route with soft, corn tortilla, onion, and cilantro. They have your typical meats from beef and chicken. But they do have the other body parts like tongue and head. I ordered 4 tacos: beef, chicken, tongue and head. She asked me if I wanted pico de gallo and guacamole on my tacos. I was like sure, why not? But I noticed they were only on the«safe» meats: chicken and beef. The other tacos didn’t have them. I thought that was interesting. Each taco comes with 2 corn tortilla and they stuffed the heck out of the tacos. I thought they were going to be those small tacos, but they were not. They’re hefty. I think 2 – 3 would be enough to get me full, not 4. How was the taco? The tortilla seemed stale, and the meats felt rubbery. They seemed below average to me. I also ordered the Chili Relleno. That was okay too. They gave a heaping amounts of rice, beans, and cheese. For a drink, I tried the horchata. That tasted nice. It was sweet and cinnamon-y. Los Jibertos in Moab is okay. I would just avoid it. 2.75 stars.
