Amazing burgers! Had the Milwaukee and Cornel mustard… both were excellent. Extremely friendly staff and cool looking atmosphere. Fast and cheap!

Stopped here to eat in the middle of a walking brewery beer tour. A friend talked me into the burger with peanut butter. I’m sure it’s good when you’re in the mood, but the PB flavor dominates everything. He loves it, however. Yummy food, but the frickles are some of the worst I’ve ever had. Zero flavor in the batter and the pickles are so thin, you truly don’t even taste pickles either. So, don’t get those. Everything else our table got was good!

The Barrie Burger is great — a must try. Barrie Burger — a chunky peanut butter bacon cheeseburger. The atmosphere is fun with bombers that the staff slide across the ceiling — fun for all.

It was so good. May I say it was the best burger that I have had in a long time. I am a big time foodie so I travel around trying new places. The place that may be able to beat this but is a tie that is comparable is the Twisted Root Beer Company in Texas. The cheese curds, tots, burger, and even the custard was just mouth watering. I cannot wait to go back!!!

Ok… been wanting to try this place for a while now to see if it was better than my beloved Sobelman’s. I went to both spots this long weekend and I have to say that this burger edged out Sobelman’s. Meat quality and seasoning seemed better. I’m a purist so I stay away from a lot of toppings so I can actually taste the main event. Deducted one star for the atmosphere. That’s where Sobelman’s beats you. I’d still come back here for a better burger and have extra cocktails to make me forget about the lack of ambiance. Well done AJB.

Would have given 3.5 stars if I had the option. Cheese curds were great nicely breaded and seemed fresh. The burger was the bomber burger which had a burger patty and a stuffed portobello mushroom. The mushroom was stuffed with two kinds of cheeses. The atmosphere was cool loved how the bombs deliver peanuts. Pretty neat. My main complaint was the fries. They were extremely greasy and soggy. This was off putting to me and I’m a fry queen. Have to get fries wherever I go. These fell short :(. Service was also a big lack luster as well. The employees seemed like they didn’t wanna be there. A must stop though. I would come back for sure.

This place was great. We picked it because it was«on TV» and it did not disappoint. The staff was very pleasant and attentive and the peanuts were great! Had the Milwaukee burger. The patties were kind of flat so I was glad I got a double, otherwise it tasted it great as well as the fries. Had the buffalo chicken egg rolls and they were amazing! Would definitely go back!

Great burgers! Great cheese curds! The dipping sauce is also amazing… …and that is all bc we were so full! They also send you peanuts in a crocket! (you will understand it later)

I wish I lived in Milwaukee so that I could go here a lot. The burger was so fresh and juicy … and they’ve had this amazing breakthrough in burger technology where they take a portobello mushroom and stuff it with cheese and then deep fry it and PUTITONYOURBURGER. It is the most amazing thing I have ever tasted and you seriously have to go try it, you guys. For reals. Plus, you get to write on your menu. And the wall. And they text you when your table is ready, so you can go to the bar 2 doors down and have a drink if the line is long. Seriously, I can’t say enough awesome things about this place.

OK, full disclosure: We went here because we saw it on Travel Channel and wanted to experience peanuts being«bombed» on our table. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, the kitsch of it was great, but they serve some seriously good burgers in this joint! This was our first trip to Milwaukee, and we had an absolute blast here! Graffitied walls, bombs on rails and peanut shells everywhere… I felt guilty dropping the shells on the floor, though. We said it was our first time, and they nicely gave us a free, frozen custard sample that was REALLY good. We started with the fried cheese curds and I got a Schlitz(«when in Rome,» right?). Neither my wife or I have ever had curds before. A bit«gummier» than I expected, but I thought they were pretty good. My wife… not so much. She got a pint of Spotted Cow, which she loved. My Schlitz… not so much. The burgers: She got the Milwaukee Burger and loved it, though the onions got a little overwhelming for her. For me, the Colonel Mustard! The beef was seasoned so well, the quality was amazing, and the playfulness of the onion strings and pretzel bun were the perfect touches. Easily one of the top 5 burgers I’ve ever had — and oh… the fries are crispy and delicious! Fun atmosphere that doesn’t take itself too seriously, friendly staff, fast service and fantastic burgers… and yes, we DID sit in the over-sized chairs out front!

Om nom nom AJ Bombers. I have eaten in the restaurant, gotten it at Miller Park and ordered delivery and every time has been great! The burgers are fantastic and I am a big fan of the tater tots(because who doesn’t love tater tots amiright?). I can’t recommend the Barrie Burger enough, it’s the burger with peanut butter, it might sound strange, but trust me it is so good. I no joke put peanut butter on my burgers at home now because of it! They’ve totally got me hooked. Just a fun place to go with good food! I always look forward to a good burger from AJ Bombers :)

Yeah, yeeaauuhh! This. Place. Is. The. Bomb. And it’s quite aptly named AJ Bombers. AJ, whoever you are, I applaud your resteraunt and your food. We got here on a Saturday night and were surprisingly seated right away. The atmosphere is very graffiti artist-laden, which I have to say I love(I only wish I had a pen to have contributed). The staff is upbeat and friendly. We both ordered their AJ Burger, mine with fries and my husband with onion rings(which if I came back would get those instead with a side of their bomber sauce.) I like that they have a specialty burger of the week. The one featured while we were there was a taco burger. It sounded amazing, complete with tortilla chips and sour cream-but not quite what my palate was craving. Their claim to fame is the Milwaukee burger, winner of a Food Wars competition a few years back. We topped it off with their Tootsie Roll custard, which was mildly disappointing. The custard wasn’t really custard at all. It was more like ice cream-not thick. They did have bits of Tootsie Roll in the mix which was unexpected, but a nice touch. Until we meet again AJ…

Wow. Just wow. Living on the MU campus for so long I felt that I had no choice but to be loyal to Sobelman’s and avoid AJ Bombers at all costs. Don’t get me wrong, Sobelman’s has great burgers. But, I can see why AJ Bombers won that one contest on the Food Network. I AMNOW A BELIEVER! No seriously. I got the Bomber Burger and my whole life has changed. We ordered for delivery and it was still moist and juicy by the time we got home. There was grease oozing out of it. The cheese was still soft and warm. The curds were good, and the boyfriend enjoyed whatever burger he got. I found my new burger place!

AJ Bombers is one of the only things I like about Water St. It could be the malay of them airdropping peanuts to the table or maybe it’s the friendly service that greets us every time I come in. Either way I’m addicted to Bombers and the burgers they slang. I just can’t get enough. Favorites: Bomber Burger with the stuffed shroom’, deep fried of course, plus lettuce, tomato, bacon and extra bomber sauce. It’s a sloppy delectable mess that I enjoy to the last bite every time I come in. The stuff shroom’ makes it the magic and then some! I always get the sweet potato chips with my burger, they are really good, especially when they get the burger drippings all over em. The tots and skin on fries are also good. This place can get busy so be prepared to wait at times. For me the wait is well worth it. I’m a burger whore too so AJ’s isn’t the only place I get my burger fix on. AJ’s tops my list though so I personally think they are one of the best in MKE.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. I’ve driven/walked by here so many times and have been wanting to try it. I figured after going to the HD museum, this would be the perfect opportunity. The décor was really cool. All the writings everywhere was really neat. Love the peanut concept too. It felt cool being able to throw the peanut wrappings on the ground and not caring bc that’s how its done. The pretzels we got were terrific. Soft & very tasty. My AJ Burger was so good. So much flavor and size comprised it. Overall, everything was perfect. Can’t really add much more or say anything that hasn’t been said, I’m just glad I finally got to go here & can’t wait to go back.

Neat place. Cool gimmicks: the airplane service & the dry-erase marker menus. Good service. Beer. The burgers are ok, but I’m not particularly impressed. Mine was slightly over cooked, and the beef isn’t exceptionally flavorful. I’m not going to deny that I come into this joint with some baggage, as they seem to keep beating(my fave) Sobelman’s on different online lists, and more famously, on that tv show. But, I’m not dumb, nor am I slave to my faves. It’s really just an ok burger. Hey, it’s better than Kopp’s… Maybe?

I was in Milwaukee for one night and needed a place to go. I try and avoid the chains the best that I can, and this place was recommended by some awesome locals, so I decided to give it a try. When I walked in, the first thing that struck me was the metal tracks that originated at the bar and branched out all over the place. As I looked closer, there were old metal WWI bomber toy planes on them. Odd I thought, but I guess it went with the name of the place pretty well. We sat down at a table and I noticed the track stopped at a target above the table, and there were bowls below it. Okay, I had to ask. Apparently this the peanut delivery system, and it was pretty cool to watch. The bartender loaded up the bomber with peanuts and released the plane. It rolled to your table and«dive bombed» peanuts to you. The bomber hit the target, the peanut payload was released, and dropped into bowl at the table. This was the first time I had seen something like this(aside from a pizza place in my hometown that delivers drinks on a train track) and it was kind of awesome. I was told that since I was there on a Tuesday, the tots were on special. Hell yeah! Sign me up! My group of three went with three appetizers. fried pickles, cheese curds and tots smothers in cheese and ground beef. I think I polished off most of the cheese curds and ate way more than my share of the tots. Delicious. For my dinner, I went with one of the burgers. While I can’t remember the name of it. I will tell you that the seasoning they use on the beef is killer, and I somehow found a way to eat all of it. The other two people with me each got burgers as well, and there wasn’t anything left on the table when we finished. If you’re in town for a limited time and want to check out a great place, I highly recommend AJ Bombers.

This place is living proof that a spectacular social media strategy can turn so-so bar food into a successful establishment. We went here for our son’s birthday. Arrived around 11:45AM, and there was a 40 minute wait for a table of four. Only a couple tables were open outside because they were short staffed during lunch. At least that’s what the server said. I ordered a hamburger with ketchup and mustard. Adding onion and pickles was at an extra cost of $ 1.25. When it came out and it reminded me of a burger from Culvers, just not as good. The bun tasted like it came off the back of a Sysco truck, and the meat seemed to be missing seasoning. Service was good, though we kinda expected a little scoop of custard for our son’s birthday. Felt like a miss, considering Taco Bell participates in going the extra mile with a free freeze on your birthday.

Great deep fried cheese curds and tasty black bean burger. Wife came here twice in two days to get the deep fried cheese curds. Service was friendly. Would definitely come back here for a burger in a casual environment. When they bombed me with the peanuts, it was pretty loud and surprising.
