Bought these wings to a potluck party and everyone loved it and wanted the restaurant’s address. Their chicken wings are really delicious. I try to not have too much fried food in our diets, but when we do crave it, we will head here for the chicken wings. May have to try the calamari but it was sold out last time we were there.

used to be good but now it’s slow and unfriendly. Not going back since they got rid of the friendly folks on the desk and installed the unfriendly person. It’s like you are an inconvenience to them being a customer.

RUDE. All I have to express about this establishment. I walked in, telling the old, rude lady in the front that I had a phone order. She barked at me to wait, and so I did. After 5 unnecessary minutes of waiting, I informed her that I had to pickup a phone order. She seemed confused, and replied with, «what do you want?». This made me confused, as I JUST told her I had a phone order. After 10 minutes of harsh words and bickering from her, I left with no food and was plain angry. Ive been loyal to this place, coming here whenever my family needed food. However, I AMNEVERCOMINGHEREAGAIN. HIGHLYDONOTRECCOMENDTHISHORRIBLESERVICEANDGROSSFOOD.

I think everyone needs their go-to party food, and this one is mine. My family only gets one thing here, and it’s the Salt and Pepper Calamari. The way it’s fried is different and very crispy. Has never disappointed me. It’s not healthy, it’s pretty greasy, but I love it. Order in advance and be ready with cash, always. It’s hectic if you do same day. Also, parking is a little cramped. You might wanna park on the side by the side Seafood City entrance.

Oh man. So first when I ordered it turned out to be «cash only» so then I had to get cash then go back.(there is an atm inside. But I had cash in the car) so I finally get to order and I order a number 1 combination plate. They told me it was gonna be less than 15 min. Wasn’t so bad of a wait time for Chinese food. But AFTER30 min it was finally ready. And I don’t make a big scene. Obviously not the cashiers fault. Just kindly pick up my food ask for utensils and leave. But on top of the wait. They give me under cooked meat and onions for my Mongolian beef and they give a bad batch of fried rice. With the meat in the fried rice is all hard. Even the rice it’s self was no good.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I was so upset recently with their food that I just have to write one. I ordered a combo lemon chicken and it looked like it was fried too long and had a slight burnt taste. What upset me is that I ordered 6 egg rolls for $ 7 and the first one I bit into had something really hard in it, almost like biting into rocks. I spit it out and looked through the egg roll and what do you know, I found small rocks in it! How could this even happen? Are they making their egg rolls on the floor!!! Is the kitchen so dirty and unorganized that rocks get into the food!!! This place used to be good but time and time again they just don’t deliver with the quality of the food, not to mention customer service is horrible, especially with the older Asian lady. I used to love this place, especially since it’s so close to where I live, but sadly I think I’ll have to find another place to enjoy some good Chinese food.

I think this place makes enough money from calamari alone to hire more people. I called three times no answer. Then I come in and the boy helps a guy that was in line AFTER me, let’s him pay because his salad isn’t ready. Then I’m up and my food’s not ready and he goes back to doing other things instead of letting me pay. More education and less stinginess sounds like it Plus they only accept cash, but their ATM machine doesn’t work.

The food is actually really good here, but the service is pretty poor. Every time that I have been here, they are always busy. Some restaurants know how to handle the crowd, but over here they are pretty slow, ignore people, and seems like they panic. When they are super busy, they won’t pick up the phone to take orders for pick-up. If you have a restaurant with pretty much no seating, they should understand a majority of their customers will be taking their food to go. If they can’t handle the crowd, they should probably hire some more people. There are comparable restaurants nearby, so this place is not a must have for me, but it is nice to just stop by and pick something up.

I’ve been going to Chef P’s restaurant since I was a kid, with their other location I believe in East Side San Jose off of Alum Rock. This place does party platters right and it is always a deal when you come through here. I highly recommend you call ahead so that when you arrive you can take pick up your food right away. This place also only takes cash so be prepared!

Food tastes ok, usually get one of the combo plates. I suggest calling in your order first because the wait is usually 20min for a combo plate. Bring cash because they no longer accept credit cards. The middle aged lady is a mean on I tell ya. No customer service skills and she could care less.

Never again will I buy anything from that restaurant after I saw the lady accidentally dropped the packed calamari from the kitchen and picked them up and put them back in the container on the table. Also, I was waiting there for 10 minutes before she gets out from the kitchen after attending her granddaughter. Yuck!

Here ordering take out. When I looked at my order found out that it was wrong I went back to restaurant to correct it staff was really upset because they got my order wrong try to make it seem it was my fault. It got to the point to where the cook from the back kitchen started yelling at me. Horrible customer service I ever experienced. The cashier was a very helpful but was also being yelled out for wanting to help me. The only reason it gets any stars because of the cashier.

I’ve been here several times through the years. I’ve always ordered the Crispy Calamari which they are known for. It’s calamari that seems to have been dehydrated and then battered and fried to a very crispy texture. It’s pretty good! Only recently have I been ordering some of their other items. Specifically the Mongolian Beef Combo #1. It’s not bad but it is not great either. The cut of beef that they use is really fatty! It is probably safe to say that it is the least expensive cut of beef you can get! Texturally, it was not very appetizing! I would rate the calamari a 4, but all the other items that I’ve tried are rated a 1 or 2. I would then rate the overall experience as a 2.5 but will found off to 3.

This place is super small, but I’m surprised at how busy and popular this place is. As soon as I walked in there was a big crowd waiting to order. When you walk in you see a bunch of food picture displayed on the wall, so you can see what you’re ordering if you’re curious what it looks like. My friend ordered the crab rangoon and it was quite yummy. The girl at the cashier is super nice :) Also, I’m not too sure if this place is cash only or not? They had the«cash only» sign displayed everywhere and there’s a ATM inside, but I also noticed a credit card machine next to their cashier. Overall, place is super small and AC is not on, so it gets hot inside, but food is yummy. I will be back to try more :)

Their Salt and Pepper Calamari here is the BEST! They no longer take Credit Cards as Payments, BOO! and have a new ATM machine in front of the register. The lady owner is sooooo rude. She got defensive when a customer came in expecting to pick up an order that he’d pay for the day before but because they couldn’t find the order slip to fulfill the order, she got an attitude like it wasn’t the store’s fault, it was unbelievable, to say the least…

I’ve been coming here since I was a baby My family knows the owners and it was such a convience that they expanded their business and made a location closer to us. All the food is really great. The salt and pepper fish is amazing :)

The hubby enjoy this place a lot… great price… large portions … easy access… sweet sour pork is great… the combos are spot on… I love the walnut shrimp and Kung pao shrimp … just remember to bring CASH … IT’S CASHONLY … reluctant to give a 5 star cause of it being cash only now. Oh and before I forget don’t expect top service … very typical asian establishment … I’m korean… hubby is Filipino and we know growing up its normal… just go and enjoy the food people … call early or plan to wait 20 minutes…

Food is on the greasy side. They pump out oder after order. Recommend calling in and placing order instead of showing up randomly. Fast, Mass produced Chinese/Asian food is the end result. It does the job but don’t expect to be wow’d by their culinary skills.

I believe there are two locations for Chef P’s; one on Landess and the other is on Jackson. I’ve frequented this chinese restaurant a few times before mainly for special occasions such as birthdays, thanksgiving, christmas, and sometimes new years, too. I’ve not had the chance to eat here yet, and I don’t think I would because this establishment could seriously use some improvement on customer service. There had been on more one occasion where this one staff would project her voice(intimidating and offending sort of way) to the customers and cooks. I didn’t like that, not at all. I understand you guys are busy and you have customers coming in and out by the minute, but there is no need for that, really. You can find this restaurant in the same plaza as Seafood City, Max’s Restaurant, Valerio’s, and a few other ones. I come here only to place an order of their salt and pepper calamari($ 10 – 11). In the beginning, we were loving and enjoying every tray orders we’ve made because it was crunchy, well-seasoned, and surely the evident taste of squid was there. However, based on the recent holidays(thanksgiving and Christmas) especially last year, we’ve noticed there was a significant change in their calamari. I mean, the price was still same, though it was the texture that seemed to throw our taste buds off the grid. It came out too crunchy being it was overcooked. You know that taste you get when something is overly fried? There was a hint of bitterness! Another note to add, the squid was no longer there, I mean as far as the taste goes. What happened, guys?! Honestly, I’ve enjoyed their calamari from the get-go, but now the holidays are just around the corner and we’re a bit dubious whether to order here again, not to mention deal with the bad customer service. But then again, I think we’ll give it another try, just because those salt and pepper calamari are so darn addicting! It’s got that unique crunchiness, I tell you!
