Great hidden Chinese restaurant! I agree with others that the restaurant doesn’t look so appealing from the outside, when once you walk in you have a sense of relief that it’s actually pretty nice! My family received great service. After we finished ordering they came to us and even offered free Chow Fun or Fried Rice. Super nice of them! Food we ordered: Sweet pea vegetable — yummy! My mom’s favorite vegetable to order at Chinese restaurants. It was very flavorful with the sauce they had it in. And cooked thoroughly. Honey walnut prawns — haven’t had this dish in a while so wanted to get it and it was great! They weren’t stingy and actually gave us a great portion! Plus they were true prawns, unlike other restaurants who claim they will serve prawns on the menu but it actually comes out as tiny shrimp. French style cubed steak — wanted to try a dish that seemed popular in the Unilocal world and found many people ordered this so I thought it give it a try. The cubed steak comes on top of lettuce and sliced tomatoes with a side of salt and vinegar. Ehh, I wasn’t a huge fan of it but it was okay… Probably won’t order again. Black Cod sweet/sour fish — OMG this was my FAVORITE dish of the night. I highly recommend!!! So yummy! The sauce is amazing and the fish was cooked so yummy. Crispy on the outside and tender in the inside! Loved it so much! Fried rice — came complimentary. Super nice of them! We originally ordered white rice for the table and our serve asked if we would like complimentary chow fun or fried rice, so we took that offer and took off the white rice we originally ordered. Our experience was great!

Went here last night with my family and on the outside it looks pretty sketch, but the inside looks a littler better! I think my favorite here is the Walnut Shrimp.(It wasn’t the best I ever had, but it was still good! Not enough walnuts though) The fried rice wasn’t anything special. I can probably make it better. The seafood tofu with lotus was really good as well. We had a lot of other things as well but I can’t remember the same but I’ll post a picture. The service was okay. The guy who took our order was really nice and the fried rice was complimentary. The portion size was really big. This is definitely an okay place to go with family! Also the children seats are broken. They need to invest in some new ones!

Food is delicious but the service isn’t so good. I think it’s worth the price though. There menu is huge. So many choices to choose from. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

My boyfriend and his family have been their loyal customers for years. For Thanksgiving lunch, his family wanted Chinese food so we decided to come back here. We regret our decision. Service is terrible. As we walked up to a waiter to take my order, whom I believed to be the owner, he rudely dismissed us and pointed us to another waiter to take our order as he sat back down to his table and continued with his lunch. RUDEMUCH??? Food is okay. According to his family, the quality of the food was not as good as it used to be. I even tried the food myself and there wasn’t anything spectacular. I was looking forward to the seafood bird nest, but it was a disappointment. There was more canned veggies than seafood. The only dish I thought worth mentioning was the honey glazed walnut shrimps. Overall, I, personally will not be back here again because service was extremely unsatisfactory and unprofessional, and same goes with my boyfriend and his family. This place has just lost their loyal customers.

Food taste shitty. The 15.99 for 3 items is all watered down and has no flavor. Even though its cheap its not worth it.

I took my family out to dinner tonight(party of 20) for my mom’s birthday. The food here is pretty good and prices are decent. However, tonight’s experience justified we should not come back. The service is terrible. We asked for a child’s seat for my 2yr old niece and the server pointed to it across the room and walked away, so we had to go grab it ourselves. We were short on chopsticks and I asked the first waitress, she did not even let me ask the question and says, «Ask him over there, I don’t know.» I’m assuming she was new. I got fed up and walked over to their utensil station and grabbed chop sticks for us. The next waitress who brought out our food was beyond unacceptable. She was literally slamming the plates of food down on the glass. Looks like she had a bad day or just hates her job. I asked her for water and she just cuts me off saying«Wait ok? Ask him over there.» Ok, who exactly is this«him over there» because no one even checked up on us or came by after. The only acceptable service I received was from the manager/owner who was the cashier. At least he had a smile on his face. Didn’t really have high expectations whatsoever, but I assumed common courtesy and respect should be presented in any business. Gratuity of 15% was not deserved.

I came here for a family dinner Sunday night and we were seated quite quickly. We were interested in their 3 entrees for $ 15.99 and were ready to order at least 9 dishes. Apparently there is a 6 dish cap per table. That’s ok! We ended up order other dishes. I don’t quite remember exactly what we ordered, mostly beef dishes, walnut shrimp, clams and some tofu dish. Everything was really tasty and came out very fast. The service was ok, we had to call a server over to actually order food and our ice waters finally came out when we were 80% done with our food. The tea was quite watered down and the complimentary soup that they provide with the 3entree deal just tasted like water with a hint of flavor. It is a good place for an inexpensive family dinner.

Decided to come here with some co workers for lunch. They are supposed to have great noodle soup combinations but as I’m vegetarian I went with the veggie pad Thai. From observing their dishes and hearing their responses they enjoyed their food a lot. They also have some cooler entries like the crunchy rice with beef which actually looked really good and a big portion. Actually my pad Thai was a huge portion as well. The restaurant is in a pretty good location at a plaza with plenty of parking and a supermarket next door. The interior is quite large so even during the lunch rush there were free tables. The service was good as the waiters and waitresses were all very attentive and concerned about the timeliness of our dishes. They even stopped by a few times to mention that some dishes were taking longer. The gentleman who took my order also stopped by to check that my dish was vegetarian as it was delivered to make sure I didn’t get a meaty one. The typical Chinese tea was provided and a huge plus is they also have their own chopsticks. The pad Thai itself was great and really tasty but not necessarily the best I’ve had, however in conjunction with all the other great things about this place I would give it a 5.

Went here on 9÷3÷15 Ordered the 3 items for $ 15.99 Plus an order of fried salt n pepper tofu $ 7.50 Plus white rice $? Food was tasteless Salt and pepper spareribs… I thought from the name it would be at least a bit salty. Maybe they forgot to add salt and pepper??? So instead of salt and pepper we got plain unseasoned spare ribs. And the tofu. They forgot salt and pepper on that as well. Here comes the funny part– So tell me how did the bill come out to be $ 35? Let’s do the math– $ 15.99 add $ 7.50 is $ 23.49 So was the tiny bowl of white rice for 2 people around $ 8??? And the remaining is tax? A grand total of $ 35 Wtf $ 8 for two tiny partial of white rice? I thought it’s $ 1.50 for each person Rip off My brother paid and wasn’t paying attention to what they charged him on his card. Never again

Came to dinner with my parents. They weren’t too packed at 7:30. Interior was very clean and the atmosphere was good. Food is decent but nothing special. The only reason why it gets two starts was because the tofu in our dish was spoiled. When we told the server she changed our dish for us. But… when she brought out the new dish we changed it to, she insisted that the tofu dish was good and that they served it to so many people earlier and no one else complained. Obviously she didn’t try the tofu because accusing us of lying. She even had the audacity to argue with my parents. Soo to the manager of this store, please teach your servers how to have proper customer service.

Eaten here a few times with my family and it’s never a disappointment. They are polite and fast. However if you don’t speak Mandarin or vietnamese I could see there being a difficulty with the communication since most of the workers are not fluent English speakers. The food isn’t bad however it isn’t the best either. The food can be salty sometimes too. I would go here if I was looking for an average dinner.

There can be off days where the food is cooked a little too salty… However, this place is an authentic gem. The owners are extremely nice and the service is WONDERFUL. Hilarious and extremely polite, reminds me of service back in Vietnam. It could be because I am a Vietnamese speaker and there are no language barriers, however. Recommendations: –Salted fish and chicken fried rice. One of the best in the city. 5⁄5 –Shrimp cake/deep-fried tofu stuffed with shrimp in Szechuan style — GREAT appetizer, fun little shrimp cakes with tangy sauce and daikon. 5⁄5 –Salt and pepper fried squid — absolutely delicious. Served with onions and jalapeños. Crispy and challenging. 5⁄5 What else is good?: –Honey walnut shrimp is quality here. Haven’t tried anything better. Beats Kim Tar. 4⁄5 –oily sweet pea/rau dot da. GREAT vegetable side on the oily and salty side. 4⁄5 Others: –Clams in basil — 3⁄5 –Crispy tofu w/salt and pepper 3⁄5 –Asparagus and crab meat 2.5÷5 The vibe of the place is great. It’s not too loud, and classy and professional enough but still soft and comfortable.

I went here for take out because I wanted to try something new. The menu was super confusing and either the menu was missing a page because I saw pictures with numbers but it was not there in the menu. Also it is like a Vietnamese chinese mix restaurant. I did not experience their service since I did take out but the interior was decent but not in a clean plaza. I ordered the hot and sour soup, salt and pepper squid and the seafood fried rice. The rice portion they gave us was a lot but not a lot of seafood. The squid was nice and crispy if you eat it right away but i have had better. The hot and sour soup was the worst. It was so oily that it was hard to eat.

Our experiences here were always hits and misses. There were good days and there were bad days. I really want to support this place because they were so nice to us during the good days. But consistency is important. Consistency is something that will win over my business. We’ve been coming here for years. There’s a huge variety of food and the prices aren’t bad either. There’s a combo deal where you get a soup plus three dishes for only $ 15.95, can’t beat that! We came here on Father’s Day last year and it was a disaster. It was crowded of course but they were super understaffed. We did not get any attention and it was so hard to flag someone down. The food took a long time and overall we weren’t able to enjoy our dinner because the service was so slow and no one checked on us when we needed water refills or extra napkins. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt telling myself it’s Father’s Day they are busy. But they should have hired more staff that day because they knew it would be busy. We were still supporting this place many more months after that and coming here at least a few times a month. The final straw was when our food cold and undercooked. Our soup was cold as ice. We told them and they took it back and brought it back our later but it was still unacceptable. How long have that soup been sitting out? We had egg flour cake and it was barely fried. The fried part is what makes it yummy but it wasn’t even fried. Very disappointed. That was the final straw. We’ve been supporting this place for years but they are not consistent. The food overall is pretty good and the prices are not bad either. Management should train the employees better so customers can have a better experience. They should also check on the food before serving it. I have nothing against this place, I just had too many bad experiences but the food and price is good. I recommend you guys to try it. Hopefully it’s better now.

We used to go here commonly because they had a good deal on three dishes. Over time though the quality has gone down and the price has gone up. When we got take out from here last time, nothing was bad per se, it just wasn’t good.

Don’t even go to this place and ask for to-go. Opened the boxes when I went home and the portions were SOSMALL. Like 7 pieces honey walnut shrimps isn’t gonna feed a family of five. Seemed like they rushed because it looked sloppy and no quality work. It was as if they just threw everything into the boxes to get rid of us. Never coming back.

This place is so good! Owners are nice. Food is awesome. Great prices, authentic and also huge family-sized portions. Kind of hidden in the corner but next to the supermarket. Their menu is extensive, but don’t let that scare you away. Everything is literally so freakin good. Everything I’ve tried is delicious. They also have a 3 course meal for 15.99 deal. You really can’t beat that.

I give this place 3.5 stars! I came here with Ignatius N. and Bo M. We wanted to eat somewhere before we watched a movie. As we entered, we were greeted by a nice aquarium with an arowana. It’s a nice family style asian place with a lot of tables. The food here is very asian as the name aptly suggests :) While we were looking over the menu, we were entertained by a server feeding the arowana goldfish. One of the things I love about this place is how cheap everything is and the family sized portions they give you. The server didn’t speak english as fluently as I hoped for so I had to point at the menu items I wanted. I ended up ordering honey walnut prawns and westlake beef soup. Ignatius N. ordered salt and pepper beef, while Bo M. ordered squid calamari and the tomato rice with steak cubes. The food came really fast so we didn’t wait that long. On to the food: Westlake Beef Soup This soup was really savory and the broth was thick. It was full of beef and mushrooms, two things I love. The mushrooms were my favorite part of this soup! Definitely order this if you have the chance :] Honey Walnut Prawns Sweet! The prawns were really good but I think the walnuts were better. Just kidding, they were both good. The prawns were sweet and bursting with flavor. The only thing I didn’t like about this is they went a little overboard on the sauce. Salt & Pepper Beef I only had a piece of this order but I can say I’ve had better at different places. It was a little too dry and salty for my tastes. You could barely taste the pepper. Squid Calamari I loved the squid calamari! I love seafood and this was probably my favorite order! It was really crunchy on the outside and once I got to the inside it became chewy. The calamari had a mild kick to it which I enjoyed! Steak Cubes & Tomato Rice The tomato rice was tangy and tasted nice. It’s really good with the steak cubes if you dip the steak cubes in the lemon/salt mix. The reason I’m giving this place 3.5 stars is because the cashier rudely told me I couldn’t split the bill and they messed up on one of our orders. I would definitely come here again though.

Nice family business. The owners are really friendly. Great service and food was pretty decent too. Could use a face lift, but I’m sure they will do well. I will definitely return to this casual dinning restaurant. Most likely for lunch. Thats what it seemed best suited for. Portions were larger than expected, for sure. Definitely worth the value. I would almost recommend they raise their prices considering the serving sizes and well prepared dishes. Overall, A sit down, no frills, casual lunch spot with good family service and plenty of value. A++

Border-line, whack & mediocre. To be honest, I was a little stoked to come here after our fail trip to Kickin’ Crab. As far as i could remember, Asiana had the best fried tofu… but not anymore. DIfferent Chef perhaps? Seatings: We were seated towards the back right in front of the lobster/crabs tank & also, right in front of the bathroom. It smelt disgusting. Food: We ordered 1. Salt & Spicy Fried Tofu($ 6.95): the last time I came here, over a year ago, this was my ultimate favorite dishes of all time. All the unique favoring, all the perfect taste and crispiness was gone. Extremely disappointed. I will now need to find a new fried tofu place. 2. Spicy Fried Crab w/chilli garlic sauce($ 22.95): Although the menu says $ 18.95, it was actually $ 22.95 so always remember to ask first. The dish came out dull and boring. And what really caught my eye immediately was that they didn’t even used real garlic. They sprinkled on the fried shallot from the jars you would find at any asian stores. The crab itself was overwhelming in salt. For every piece that I ate, I had to drink at least 2 cups of tea to wash it down. So after 2 pieces… you guessed it… I was completely full — from the tea. 3. Yan Chow Fried Rice($ 9.95): It actually wasn’t bad, but I wished they would’ve added in more than 3 pieces of shrimps. I honestly don’t think I will be coming back here to eat again.
