I eat here for the first time today. My mom who has been going here since 1985 treated me for dinner. I’m very picky so I was a little reluctant to eat but my mom treated and I was not going to be rude. I ordered chicken broccoli with steam rice. The service was great, and prompt, the food came and was cooked to order hot and fresh. To my delight the food tasted as good as it looked. Thanks mom! The owners were also a pleasure to meet. After dinner we conversed with the owners for another hour. I truly believe they are honest and good people! I love Chinese food and I’m very picky, this place passed my taste test! Lol. Thank you for your great service and food I’ll be back soon!!!

I had a craving for the Calamari and since this place was really close to my house I gave it a try. I called in my order so that I don’t have to wait. The guy on the phone kept trying to get me to order other stuff, but I just wanted to have the egg roll and calamari. Well little did I know that there are two kinds of Calamari the one that is Crunchy and dry and the other one that is crunchy on the out side and soft inside, So I ordered the dry and crunchy one. well As soon as I got there my order was ready witch was a plus. As soon as I got home I was so excited to satisfy my craving. Well the calamari was crunchy as expected but I was a little disappointed way to salty for my taste buds. on to the egg roll typical egg roll that you would get from«King egg roll» for those who know. Nothing special it came with dipping sauce. Summary Calamari too salty and egg roll just ok. These two orders came out to 20 bucks a bit pricy for fast Chinese food. So if you have a craving for calamari and don’t mind it being salty this is your place. For me I rather pay the 20 at Cho Chi more bang for you buck.

You know when you have this craving… deep in your belly and you need to satisfy it or you’ll just stuff yourself silly with things that will never satisfy you? Well this was the day. I wanted crispy squid/calamari and not any kind. I want the deep fried kind that’s still chewy inside. We live a little far from King Calamari which has the«soft» fried squid so we went on the hunt on Unilocal to find a spot. We found potentially a couple places one being Wonder Wok. There was much hoopla and we didn’t initially order with Wonder Wok, but in the end we did as they were well aware of what we wanted vs. the other spot. Was it great? Well yes, but only initially. It was crispy, crunchy, slightly salted and maybe… there seemed to be a seasoning that was slightly sweet which made me feel like it had MSG. The inside was chewy though some of the pieces felt a little under done meaning a little doughy. As time passed, the crunchiness did fade and it was within the hour. That was disappointing. I think at King Calamari it wasn’t like that and the crunchiness persisted. So considering the nice service, the proximity, I will definitely come back to satiate the beast inside me.

I’ve lived in SF, Oakland, and San Jose and their peking style spare ribs are the best I’ve ever had in the bay area. The perfect amount of crispiness with that signature delicious red sauce. Reasonably priced and love supporting the local mom and pop places that care about the customers. They even gave me some home made cookies to go free of charge. Nicest people. Felt loved :)

So I actually confused this place with another because the names were very similar. So this place is small with about 5 tables and the restaurant does not have air conditioning so it made it hard to enjoy the food or even eat the food. We came in the evening too so it was surprisingly still hot. We got a combo for two which came with 5 dishes. There was wontons, sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice, hot and sour soup, and a beef wrap dish. The wonton sauce was disgusting and the soup had these weird black things inside it which were inedible. The beef wraps were interesting but the wraps kept breaking. The sweet and sour pork was alright and the fried rice was kind of dried. The price for all the food was reall u good though even though it was just average Chinese food. I doubt I will go out of my way for this place but it was an very average place but with nice service although if you hate heat avoid this place.

Wonder Wok is one of those awesome hole-in-the-wall places that you would only know of if you grew up around it, or you know someone who grew up around it. Even when there are massive cravings for ghetto Chinese food, there is good ghetto Chinese food and crappy ghetto Chinese food. Wonder Wok would definitely fall under the former(if you want to know about the latter, just go to any 99 Ranch Market). Unlike other Chinese food places that just leave the food lying out in a heater all day, Wonder Wok doesn’t actually cook anything until you order it. That means you do have to wait 5 – 10 minutes for your food, but you also know that it’s, well…“fresh”(I don’t really know if I want to actually use fresh here) when you get it. They have great chow mein and their salt and pepper chicken wings are perfectly fried up and HUGE wings. And they do have a lengthy list of items you can order if you aren’t ordering the three-item combo. I mean, this place is good enough that I actually drove 20 minutes to get here. That should tell you enough. Oh and they actually take AMEX!

I was excited to try their salt and pepper calamari, since others have raved about it and I was tired of Chef P’s. But wow, all I could taste was the fried flour and not much squid. Their orange chicken was also a let down. Next time and future salt and pepper calamari, King Chicken is still better.

I went in about a month ago because I had a craving for sesame chicken. It took a long time to get the food and it was only so-so.

This is the best place to have a family style food. Very friendly people. I have been going there for the past 15 years ! Custom ordered dishes.

I sometimes try other Chinese places, but this one is the unrelenting favorite. I am just lucky I live close by. I’m kind of a simplistic person, my favorite main dishes are the kung pao chicken and the Chinese chicken salad. But I love their fried rice, chow mien, and chow fun. And they have the best pot stickers and egg rolls around! I have never tasted better pot stickers anywhere else

I wanted to give this place a chance since it’s close by, so I ordered Sesame Chicken and Sweet & Sour Pork. They were both horrible… didn’t taste right at all and plus you can smell the old oil used. I was so grossed out! Definitely gave big portions for the cheap price but that didn’t matter bc it was inedible. Maybe the other dishes are better… unfortunately I won’t be going back… How did this place get such high ratings on Unilocal

I had the bbq beef on chow mein. For 5.75 you get a gigantic amount of food. It was good, not anthing out of the ordinary but still quite tasty. I want to try more items so I will definitely be coming back.

My bf and I was hungry before heading out to the niners game and picked up some food from here before we started drinking. We both ordered the salt and pepper spare ribs with fried rice and was really good. I wish they had more jalepenos. The food was a bit oily but it is chinese food and usually it’s pretty greasy but there wasn’t like a puddle of oil like some places I’ve been too. But the oily chinese food was good to soak up the alcohol I was going to drink. I’d probably get the same combo from here again since i’m in the area at my friend’s house who lives right around the corner from here.

This place is definitely good! Looks like a potential contestant on Restaurant Impossible. But its one of those hidden whole in the wall gem places. Great customer service, huge portions, quick preparation & really tasty food! My son finally found some good pork buns! Will be back in the future :)

Wanted to try this place since we moved to our new place. Hubby walked in to order food to go but took them more than 30 mins. to get our food ready. Seems like your priority of you phoned in your order. So we were still patient thinking must be good since the long wait. When we got home(at that point we were already starving, lol) the food was salty and the chowmein was spicy like they put too much ground pepper. I can’t believe I’m saying this but the orange chicken in Panda Express taste so much better than what they serve here. NEVERAGAIN!!! Since you can’t choose«0» stars guess I’m gonna have to settle for 1 star. Two thumbs down!!!

The food is not great. Stay away from tinge sweet and sour chicken. I saw them prepare it so I can write exactly what it is: basically some frozen chicken ‘nuggets’ throwns into the deep frier, taken out, and then the guy pours on a red sauce from a vat at the front. The red sauce tasted exactly like syrup — but poured on top of chicken nuggets, mmmm no thanks! The chow mein was acceptable. A bit greasy.

Cheap, fast, convenient, good and HUGE portions! Also the food is «made to order» no heat lamps in this establishment.

Good prices and huge portions! The Chinese chicken salad was delicious. We also got the sweet and sour chicken which offered huge pieces of chicken! It was about $ 20 for 4 different meals. It’s definitely best for take out/pick up. Not a great environment for sitting and eating.

Owned and run by a small family. They’ve been there at least as long as I’ve lived here which is 27 years. Food is pretty good and the family is very courteous. I def like some dishes better than others but I should go more often than I do. Any time I’m going to order Chinese, this is the place I go!

Small little place with good service. There’s a lot of options so it can be a bit overwhelming. I ordered the house special chow mein but after I did I noticed so many other things on the menu I also would have ordered. Since I asked for no shrimp they have me extra pork and chicken. That just means I have to come back many more times and try everything! It’s an easy walk down the street so I don’t see why not. I was just really craving Chinese food. It’s really small and they have a lot of options so I think all the food is made to order, that’s why it takes a while, but that’s fine I’m a pretty patient guy. I’m glad it’s fresh because the last thing I wanted to eat were soggy noodles. Hopefully they get enough business. My cousin brought some chicken wings and salt and pepper fish filet from this place last week and it was really good and everyone in the family was fighting each other for it.
