Terrible service, over cooked steak and the over charged us on the bill. Never again.

Slow service… Not sure if we were just unlucky for the night but other guest around us were experiencing the same poor service. First off, we had to remind the waitress to serve us the complimentary bread, asked the server to bring us water numerous times, waited on condiments for more than 10 minutes, and on top of that we were barely checked up on. Come to think of it, it was rare to see any servers on the floor. The crazy thing is that the restaurant wasn’t as busy anymore since it was pretty late in the day. Now this is an assumption, but if servers are tired by the end of the day like so, they should be relieved by another group of waiters/waitresses unless they are understaffed… Other than the poor service, their food is great! that is why we still keep on coming back. the campfire meal for two is always a great deal since it comes with 1 appetizer and dessert to share with someone and you each get a main entrée with 2 sides. You’ll honestly be stuffed after appetizers and bread! I’d still come to Black Angus but maybe a different location since this location seems to always give bad service whenever we’d come in.

Their service is super slow. It took 15 minutes to even get acknowledged once we got sat and then another 5 minutes until we got our drinks. The server didn’t listen to the orders. The tables are extremely small. They are very proud of their food, the prices reflect that. I will not be coming back, I am extremely disappointed!

I’ve been to Black Angus when I was younger and the last I remember ever coming to this location was when I was dating someone else at the time. I barely remember what I had then, so this was more of a refresher now. My family and I arrived around 7PM on a Thursday night to celebrate my sister’s birthday a day early. The parking situation was terrible because the parking lot around Black Angus seemed so small and made for compact cars only. But it only took us maybe 5 minutes to find a spot a little bit away from the restaurant. I called ahead of time for a table of 4 so we were seated pretty quickly. We ordered the Campfire Feast for $ 58 between us all, so we got 2 appetizers for the 4 of us. My order: Prime Rib(medium rare) with Caesar salad and Au Gratin potatoes Mom: Rib Eye(medium well) with wild western rice and roasted brussel sprouts Dad: Grilled Salmon with wild western rice and steamed broccoli Sister: Rib Eye with loaded baked potato and steamed broccoli Everything came out hot and fresh! The only thing that my mom didn’t like was that the steak she got was cooked medium RARE when she said medium WELL. Idk if the waitress just misheard her. But my mom was a bit ehh about it. Other than that, everybody loved what they got. My prime rib came out to perfection and the horseradish/au ju that came with the prime rib was delicious. Also, I wasn’t expecting the Caesar salad to be on a completely separate plate. I thought it would be like a small bowl on the side lol. But it came out cold and the shredded cheese was what made it even better. I just wish I asked for dressing on the side. For the dessert, we ordered the white chocolate bread pudding and sky high mud pie. My family devoured the bread pudding like no tomorrow. I never even got to try it! I was expecting the ice cream on the mud pie to be on the side, but it was an actual ice cream CAKE. Mocha almond ice cream was good, but too much of it left that coffee aftertaste in my mouth that I don’t care for much. I’d probably come here only for special occasions. I wouldn’t make it a habit to come here all the time, only because it’s pricey as hell LOL.

DONOTGOHERE!!! My family and I decided to have dinner on a monday night thinking it wouldn’t be that busy. We arrived around 7:30 and were told there was a 20– 25 min wait. No biggie… we waited. At around 8pm we were seated. We looked at our menu and were ready to order by 8:15pm. Mind you… our server hasn’t even stopped by to acknowledge us or take our drink order or offer us bread and butter. Despite waiters walking past our table every 5 mins no one stopped at our table. By 8:40pm we decided to get up and leave. Summary of our horrible experience: waited 30 mins to be seated, once seated we waited another 25mins for nothing… absolutely nothing. Do yourself a favor and go to Outback or Texas Roadhouse. Both have a waiting time but at least you’ll get good customer service.

My boyfriend and I been here a few times now and I recommend getting the campfire for two. The portions are really big for a really good price and sometimes they give out coupons in the mail or online which makes the food even cheaper and more worth it. That is usually the on time I would go here. Food: So we ordered the campfire for two and with the coupon it was $ 48 compare to the $ 52. It comes with an appretrasor and you can pick any of them even the sampler they have there. We got the sampler which comes with shrimp cocktail, boneless chicken, potatoes skins and fried zucchini. I do not like potatoe skins so I did not try it but I did enjoy the shrimps and the chicken. Next for the main dish I actually got the New York steak which was juicy and big. It also comes with two sides which I choose broccoli and mash potatoes. The mash potatoes were a little watery though. We actually got a lot of the food togo cause there was still dessert. Out of all the desserts I enjoy the mud pie the best cause it’s very big. The bottom is crispy kind of hard to eat but lots of almonds in the mocha ice cream. So the food was great and is worth 5 stars. Service: Out of all the times I been here service is average. The servers might forget about you mostly if you are in a corner. Our server was training a new guy and they were helpful in the beginning but it took them forever to come back to take our order for the main course then they never showed up again. We also had a lot of dirty dishes piling up and we had nowhere to put it so we stack it up pretty high and I should had taken a picture. So I was not impressed with the service when it was so difficult to flag down anyone. So I would give the service 2 stars cause they forgot about us. Restaurant/Location: Every time I go to the bathroom here it is always dirty. So I do not if they actually clean the toilets. The restaurant is very big and is great for big groups. There is always a lot of parking in this area so you do not have to worry about crappy parking. You can easily find this place no problem. I do like the interior but I can’t stop thinking how dirty the bathroom is so for appeal I would give it 3 stars. I would come here again for the great food. They also have really good bread but do not expect great service.

No service at all! I would give zero star if I can. I got a big stare down when I ask for a menu at the bar after being ignore for more than 10mins. I am not sure how the food is since I am still waiting after 30mins. The host is very nice though. Never again this place!

INSIDE: located at McCarthy Ranch on the Walmart side. Plenty of outside parking. Inside is your run of the mill Black Angus but this one seems like t has been around a looong time and isn’t as fresh and new as some other locations. FOOD: food is your standard Black Angus food. Come here for steak cravings and you’ll be mostly satisfied. I love their mud pies. DEALS: check your mail for those dinner meal coupons and lunch special coupons. They’re a pretty good deal and to be honest I will only eat here if I have one of those coupons. STAFF: my most recent server was attentive and did a good job. No complaints there.

Call it what you want, but Black Angus is now my go-to casual dining steakhouse. Up until Christmas Eve 2015, I had never once been to a Black Angus in my life. I had always seen their 2 for $ 42 Campfire Feast deals, but never really went out of my way to go to a location. Our group ordered: 1. A 12 oz. prime rib with baked potato side 2. Chicken, bacon, avocado half sandwich with wedge salad and garden salad 3. Full sized garden salad 4. Kids chicken strips 5. Wagon Wheel Appetizer Sampler: fried zucchini, potato skins, buffalo chicken strips — it came with 2 dipping sauces: bleu cheese and a cucumber dipping sauce which was so on point, I made a vow to try and recreate it at home sometime 6. Mango raspberry iced teas 7. Old Fashion cocktail Aside from the chicken sandwich being a 3⁄5 stars at most, everything else was pretty good! The prime rib was extremely juicy, the appetizer sampler was delicious, and the mango raspberry iced teas were HUGE and refreshing. I know it’s a chain restaurant, I know they’ve got these all over the place, but I think what matters most is food quality and quality of service. Our server was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, all things that’ll give you five stars in my book!

First to explain my rating of five stars — Food: three stars(not much taste) Ambience: three stars(too noisy) Service: 55 stars!!! Loraine is a top-notch, attentive, professional, high-spirited server. Upon return I will ask for Loraine by name. My wife and I are newlyweds and Loraine was kind enough to add a candle to our dessert. It should be noted that Loraine was overrun by a tour bus crowd of twenty, but she took it in stride serving everyone with a smile and constantly checking on us. It is apparent that she loves her job. If you happen to have the Black Angus hankering, I strongly encourage you to visit Loraine. You owe it to yourself!!!

What can I say? It’s a chain… I have gone a bunch of times to the one in Lancaster, CA when I go to the nearby racetrack Streets of Willow, and it’s OK food, excellent service, for a good price, given that Lancaster is not exactly a thriving metropolis for foodies ;0) So this is only the second Angus I’ve ever gone too, and it was a business lunch. It was PACKED!(Cisco campus is across the street, and my business lunch companion tells me all of the eateries on this strip mall get mobbed). Service was very good and attentive despite the crowd, they seated us soon despite I was 25 minutes past my reservation time — I880 traffic was murderous. With any entrée, you get two sides. I liked my broccs and rice. The steak, was a bit over the«medium rare» mark I gave, but it was solid… For a chain.

So I made a 5:45pm reservation for party of 5; we arrived at 5:26pm. My parents didn’t know that I have a reservation so they asked for a table before I arrived. I told the hostesses that I have a reservation and they said«we will seat you closer to your reservation time». Well… Other Restaurants usually would be happy to seat us earlier if we arrive early, not like we arrived more than 30min early anyway. But no, we didn’t get seated early; the funny thing is they called my parents’ table even before my name at 5:43pm(not to mention some walk-in group of 4 and 5 got seated before us). Complete waste of time making a reservation; don’t even bother, just walk in because it’s more like«first come first serve» here. I would much prefer the Black Angus location in Sunnyvale, service is way better and foods are a lot better as well. I will not come back to this location anymore, poor management systems!

Been going to the Black Angus in San Lorenzo for a long time since we used to live by there. We decided to go here instead for my bday as my kids love their bread and good sz appetizers. We were looking for a good deal as my two girls that were working wanted to treat me for my bday and everyone else. The campfire sampler platter has changed. They offer 3 chilled cocktail shrimp, six good size pcs zucchinis, two potato halves, and 3 good sz of their chicken strips. The chicken strips did not taste good as this use to have buffalo sauce on it. This was just deep fried with red coating in it and dry. That was a disappoint. My plate was pretty good. The sirloin steak was actually cooked well and moist. Love it with steak sauce and horseradish. The shrimp was deep fried but I think I like it better grilled. The lobster was pretty good. Two of my kids had salmon which barely had flavor. It was just steamed and added a little seasoning. The prime rib was pretty good but always has a lot of fat compared to ones you buy and cook at home. Service was good but as the crowds came in, it can get a little slower. Our server this time was pretty good, still not bad. Prices are always good as they offer coupon deals. We had two campfire meal deals and I had their Top sirloin with lobster and shrimp special for $ 20 only! Dessert was good. We ordered the cowboy cookie with vanilla ice cream and nY cheesecake. I got a cowboy cookie for free for my bday. Cool! Still was an ok experience here and I hope next time, it will be the same service.

It almost hurts my heart to give a steakhouse such a bad review, but I have to. First, when we stepped in for a weeknight dinner, it took a good 5 – 10 minutes for someone to ask us how many were in our party. After being seated, it took maybe another while for a waitress to stop by and ask for drink orders. We saw other tables being seated and eating their meals before our waitress even came back to take our food order. When we finally ordered, we thought the rest of the evening could only go up from there. It didn’t. It took at least half an hour to get our appetizer, wings. When we asked what the holdup was, the waitress told us fried apps take longer. I doubt it takes half an hour to fry up some chicken wings. We also asked for bread because we saw other tables had bread, but the loaf of bread only came halfway through our meal. Speaking of entrees, that literally took over an hour and a half from the time we ordered. Steak takes a long time, but surely not that long. And a salad definitely should not take that long. When we again asked where our food was, our waitress snapped back with an attitude that made us want to leave immediately. When the steak finally arrived, it was severely overcooked. Medium rare tasted, felt, and looked well done. Unfortunately, we probably won’t be back. A normal dinner that would take two hours tops ended up taking almost four. Service was terrible, food was mediocre at best, and wait time set records in a bad way.

Alright Alright! wow. Boy have they turned things around here. I’m in complete shock. The reason why I came was because my parents wanted to come and they forced me to go. Well, I’m happy they took me because damn! they did a great job. As we walked in, we were seated as soon as possible, the employees are more flexible and more happy this time lol. The manager is more engaged with his guests too! I asked where the restroom was and the manager immediately gave me the directions with a huge smile. As we sat down, I noticed the menu has changed into this neatly organized and soft-textured booklet. There are many more options and better choices than before. Our waiter was on point with immediate assistance and taking down our orders. Our meals arrived on time too! I had their 12 oz Rib-eye which was incredibly good. I couldn’t believe the size and thickness of the steak. For Black Angus, this was amazing. It’s like they rose from the dead and came back stronger than ever. The steak was juicy, thick, perfectly cooked medium-rare, and had the right amount of salt/pepper for it’s base. I also had the full tail lobster which pretty damn thick and meaty. It was boiled to perfection. Their melted butter for dipping is delicious; it had notes of garlic and buttery biscuit. Perfect combo! Overall, my experience was terrific this time around. Idk what happened, but they picked up their trash quick and threw it out. No lie, I would love to come back and have this again IF the experience was the same. Thanks a lot! You guys did a great job!

Talk about a disappointing meal… Thinking Black Angus was popular enough to require a reservation for minimal wait time, I reserved for my family to eat there on a Monday night. We showed up 5 minutes early, and although the place was pretty empty, we had to wait until our time of reservation. Odd, but okay. Then the hostess supposedly seated us at the wrong table and therefore our food was delayed? We got our food nearly an hour after we ordered! Luckily, we ordered a starter to share and there was free bread and butter. We ate and ate to kill as much time as possible while the wait seemed forever. Finally, the food came out: Steak soup: Soooooooooooooo salty! I got it since it seemed to be a popular option amongst Unilocalers but holy crap! This was not good unless you like drinking a soup loaded with salt. Even dipping the free bread in it wasn’t enough to neutralize its saltiness. No one finished this dish. It just was not possible to. Fresh grilled salmon: … So average. This was supposed to be a signature dish? I can make this myself at home! It was also a very small piece of salmon for the price. Top sirloin: They overcooked this… This was dry and tough to chew despite the fact it was ordered medium. No pink whatsoever in this. I’m imagining«well done» to be completely blackened piece of meat right now. BBQ ribs and grilled chicken: Chicken was tough and dry as well and was also super average, but I can’t speak for the ribs since I didn’t try it. Probably very average as well. Thousand Island salad with honey mustard: This was one of the best dishes of the night! Fresh salad with a perfect amount of honey mustard and thousand island dressing. Yum! Filet Mignon Chili Nachos: This was also a winner! The chips were covered with minced filet mignon pieces and sauce… With a light sour cream drizzle and lots of delicious melted cheese and pieces of jalapeño. The only issue with this was that the chips were too soggy and broke easily. It was very messy eating this! Garlic mashed potatoes: Theeee best mashed potatoes I’ve had in a while! I thoroughly enjoyed my mashed potatoes as well as my family’s mashed potatoes, hehe. Soo creamy, so flavorful! Moreee! Fries and Sweet potato fries: They were very stingy with the fries and the fries were soggy anyway. They couldn’t even get this right! But — I do have to give credit where it is due: Service from the waiter/manager(in a dress shirt) was very nice and cordial and professional. Service from our waitress with a ponytail was above and beyond good! She even had a nice sense of humor and checked up with us a lot! At this price point, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of food… I probably will not be returning unfortunately :\

Noelle’s Unilocal Notebook 2015 Black Angus Steakhouse in Milpitas and San Jose clearly have seen better days. Came here not too long ago with my parents and son for lunch. Lunch on a weekday here the parking was über full of cars, yet inside Black Angus Steakhouse it was nearly empty. It was obvious that the packed parking lot were for the other surrounding restaurants. The hostess was going to seat us in a busy spot where wait staff were coming out of the kitchen. I requested to be sat at another booth away from kitchen traffic whereby she refused to let us have the high chair. Clearly, her logic of placing a high chair in the first seating location where kitchen traffic was silly. In the end our waitress was kind enough to give us a high chair which worked in the booth away from the kitchen traffic. Our order: Cheesy Bread Appetizer 3⁄5 Kid’s Slider’s 2.5÷5 Burger 2.5÷5 Prime Rib lunches 2⁄5 The kid’s sliders and the burger with bacon and avocado were tasteless. The prime rib was mediocre tasting probably on the same level as Coco’s but with Denny’s tasting better. 20 years ago Black Angus(in Milpitas and San Jose) were delish spots for steak, now it’s only a shadow of it once was way back when. Our waitress was super nice but the food wasn’t good at all. I’d rather eat at the Golden Arches then dine here again. Noelle’s Notes Overpriced Mediocre food Fruit flies dead in the windows(yuck)

Black Angus wasn’t my first choice for prime rib, but when you’ve got a coupon for a campfire feast at $ 20.50 per person, you have to give it a shot. It’s a good idea to make reservations, especially for weekend dinner, as around fifteen people were waiting for tables when we arrived. We were seated immediately, though I had made the reservation only two hours before arriving on Open Table. We let our waiter know right away what we wanted, so menus weren’t necessary. That super sweet molasses bread and butter came right out followed by our drinks, and the appetizer sampler, which I didn’t care for. The chicken strips were really spicy. One of my sides was the garden salad, and it super crisp, with different types of croutons. The prime rib was cooked perfectly, medium as ordered, juicy with little fat. My second side, the baked potato was satisfying. We finished the evening off with a shared mud pie. Our waiter was polite and attentive. We got a lot for the money. Next time, though, I’ll order off the menu and get what I really want.
