Terrible servicio me vendieron un sub de pavo y era de otra cosa y no querian cambiarmelo, ademas que el sandwich es un poco caro. Servicio terrible citando a la cajera«si usted se equivoca ese es su problema». Terrible service, they sold a turkey sub but instead they give me a deli sandwich, they refuse to change the sandwich and the cashier/manager told me «is your mistake and is your problem if you choose wrong»

I tried the cuban sandwich, empanada, and papa rellena at this place(squeezed all three of them into my photo). All three were great with authentic Cuban flavor! Everything is on display on the open glass cases. They have a good variety of fillings too — chicken, beef, cheese, guava and more. Surprisingly low prices too considering this place is inside the airport. All the pastries are around $ 1 to $ 3.

I can’t NOT have one of their empenadas any time I pass through MIA(and I pass through MIA a lot for international trips). It’s kind of like a rite of passage for me once I return from South America — to track down one of the La Carreta stands and get two empenadas to go — I usually get the beef one and the spinach and cheese one. YUMMMMMMMMMMMY and so dang cheap. It’s almost that last gasp of reminding me that just a couple of hours ago I was in Panama… Ecuador… Chile… Argentintina… Bolivia…

There are two options: sit down restaurant or the to-go counter. We had the latter. Ready-made well-spiced chicken empanadas and excellent guava pastries at a great price make me want to return. The Cuban sandwich was just ok. Next time I’ll try the tostones.

Always a treat when at the MIA airport. The authentic Cuban food is a fresh taste of the local flavor of south Florida. We like to catch some of this when leaving somewhere or between planes on the way.
