Stopped for a quick lunch before boarding our cruise. Food is delicious. The fried pork and mashed plaintain son the appetizer menu would’ve been enough for a meal for one and plenty as an appetizer for more than 2. Cuban coffee delicious.

Just ok. The empanadas are good but it looks like they sit around in a case and are only warm at best. The ham croquettes were disappointing and kind of flat. Cheese had solidified due to the temperature situation mentioned above. Half moon looked more appetizing.

A must when your passing through Miami airport. In between D20&D21 you will find authentic Cuban food.

Always happy to see this spot when I arrive to or I’m leaving MIA. This was the only food station open(aside from Starbucks) before 5 a.m. They make sandwiches in the morning so you can get your grub on early. They crank out the coffee really quickly as well. The staff is really friendly. Just have patience when ordering if you don’t speak Spanish and English is their second language. Guarantee with some patience you will get what you want to order. Solid place to get something to eat before boarding your plane.

Three locations in Terminal D by gates D5, D21, D44. These are some damn good empanadas. Got both a chicken and beef empanada at the one by gate D5. Devoured them. Then, I had a gate change past D21… YES! Another one, another one! Café con leche was also really good — strong and creamy — and definitely woke me right up. Guava and cheese pastry was alright, pastry was a bit too doughy as opposed to flaky — prefer the ones from Porto’s in LA. Minus half a star for that, and minus another half star for the service at the D5 location. Didn’t appreciate the sassy cashier who forgot my coffee, then insisted that I was actually the one that forgot to order it. Nuh uh, no chance!

I patronized the one across from gate D21 while laid over in MIA today at 5:30am. The food is very inexpensive — we got 3 empanadas(spinach & cheese + chicken), some pastries, a Cuban sandwich, and an espresso, all for less than $ 25. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre. I honestly don’t know why it is so popular. Perhaps compared to other dreadful airport offerings, the competent mediocrity of the food here are sufficient to make it seem like a star. One thing you can’t deny is the value proposition — warm, acceptable food for relatively low, un-airport like cost. The other thing I couldn’t quite grasp is the need to restate your beverage order to the barista. I ordered at the counter and paid, but the drink order doesn’t seem to get communicated to the person making them, or at least it seemed that way to me. Furthermore, it appeared she served Spanish speaking patrons ahead of those who only spoke English, or maybe she didn’t understand English intonations of «espresso» and«tea». I generally don’t mind poor service, but don’t appreciate being made to feel that I have to compete against other patrons to get my order filled. What’s the point of paying to get something and then having to struggle to get it? It takes away people’s dignity. Isn’t it much easier to just serve customers in the order that they placed and paid for their order? In any case, over-rated and underwhelming on all fronts, except value.

Good Cuban sandwiches in the airport!!! After a long flight from Seattle I almost started crying when I saw Café Versailles. They treated me like I was home(Spanish is my first language). I ordered a Cuban sandwich, café con leche(and sugar), and platanutres! I’m saving the platanutres for later, but what a delicious breakfast/lunch…brunch!

First, I do NOT give out 5 stars regularly BUT the empanadas made me do it! The Good: the EMPANADAS! I ordered a chicken empanada with a café con leche before boarding my 6am flight as a quick breakfast to go… got halfway to my gate and doubled back for another round(and picked some up for my family in NY). The empanadas are flawless. The Bad: the lines are hella long which should clue you in as to how good this place is. The Ugly: NOTHING. I’m now going to see if all my flights from hereon can layover in MIA just so I can stop off at Café Versailles and eat. If you’re in town, GO.

A 70s Kelly green sign lit up in a groovy Versailles font puts you in the mood for some Cuban local snacks, and starting in the $ 1.50 — $ 3 range it’s probably the cheapest thing in an airport that doubles as a high end mall. However my papa relleno around $ 2 came stuff with a red ground chili meat that reminded me of a sloppy joe and was messy. The ham croquette, $ 1.35 a slender fried treat looks like a cheese stick but is filled with unappetizing chopped processed ham. You get what you pay for. It sated my hunger, but I’ve enjoyed other places in Miami better, so just wait til you get to the mainland if you are looking to explore local flavor. The Cuban food at Ka Vu looked more extensive, offering actual meals, if you would rather have a healthier meal of protein and rice.

I liked the beef empanada even more than I thought I would, even after reading all the great reviews! When the employee said it was just beef inside and nothing else, I was very skeptical. However, it was amazing! They were also a good size and reasonably priced! I also got the guava cheese pastry based on the Unilocal reviews and it was not as good as similar guava cheese pastries I’ve had. I wish I had gotten 3 beef empanadas instead!

Perfect place to grab a bite to eat and for goodies to take home on a layover when at the Miami international airport. The cortadito was perfect, the guava and cheese pastry, Cubano and the empanadas we carried onto the plane were all amazing.

After a long nap in the terminal I woke up to a bustling airport and a line for this place. Curious, I got in line and ordered myself a small café con leche and a guava pastry. Definitely regret not getting an x large café and 3 pastries. Café is rich, sweet and soothing after a draining night. The pastry filling is delicious but the crust was not my favorite.

10÷27÷15 Well worth the wait for them to open at 6am since our flight was @7 Service was fast and courteous. Had their cortadito and ordered two empanadas 1) carne 2) potatoe, very light, delicious and filling. another patron thought I cut in front of her, since I was waiting like the others sitting down, and gave me that comment«I guess you can go infront» shes lucky I didnt get all ghetto on her ass and simply stated«Im sorry I was here prior to her with others sitting patiently! dumb biiiaa

I landed in Miami and wanted a cup of coffee. Under a buck for a Cuban Espresso? Yes please! On my way out of town I had a double, and they gave me a bunch of tiny cups like I was going to share it with a big group. No way, it was all mine. The pastries looked good, but I was just there for the espresso.

Wanted some of that South Florida culture and was craving a Cuban sandwich. Not the best I’ve ever had but it was pretty tasty and I left satisfied. Great option for a quick bite to eat on a layover. Highly recommend finishing your meal with a Spanish style coffee, real nice way to finish off the meal.

Ok not exactly what I was expecting. I kept hearing you have to eat here when you’re in the Miami airport. I thought it was an actual restaurant where you could sit. Alas it is not. But that’s ok, grab and go works for me too. I got here at noon and and there was a line and people just hanging around in general as if this was a gathering place. I can understand, the staff was very nice. Service is quick and friendly. And it’s cheap! Even better. $ 2.50 for an empanadas. They could be bigger but hey. They also serve sandwiches $ 8.00 and Cuban coffee $¾.00. Great deal, I’m already planning to stop here again when I return home

I love this place and always stop here when I travel to Miami. They have a few locations all through the airport so finding one isn’t hard. I usually get a cortadito(Cuban espresso) and I’m not even a coffee drinker but its so good I help myself. The pastelitos de carne(meat filled pastry) are to die for and I crave them often. A meal isn’t complete without dessert and the guava pastries are delicious. What I love about this place apart from the food is that is not super expensive like many other places at the airport.

Great quick service and yummy snacks. Fresh and warm empanadas include choices beef, chicken, spinach and cheese, ham and cheese. They also have sweet pastelitos like guava and cheese etc to satisfy your sweet tooth. And, of course have to get a café con leche(they have iced option too!)

Café Versailles has a much abbreviated menu vs. the standalone Versailles restaurants with sandwiches, empanadas and pastries. More extensive options from the same family can be found at the La Carreta on the other side of Terminal D. I got the Cuban sandwich($ 6.79!) and was asked if I wanted it toasted. .. duh ;-) The sandwich is about 8 inches long and not cut on the diagonal like is typical(not that there’s anything wrong with that? ). It was an OK Cuban with a good amount of meat and cheese, though light on pickles and mustard( ). The sandwich was not well toasted with the cheese still solid and. .. chilly :-O

This place is a joke. We were here several years ago and I vowed I would never return but my better half wanted a Cuban sandwich. Now I can talk about this because I have the Cuban sandwich heritage in my blood. These people don’t know what they’re doing, don’t know how to run a business and they don’t know how to heat a Cuban sandwich. They give Cuban sandwiches a bad name. The bread was soft, not brown, not crispy, the cheese was not even warm forget about it being melted as it supposed to be. They have three people standing around by the cashier and the coffee area and no one heating the sandwiches. You have to pay first and then they make you wait before they even start heating your sandwich. At all other sandwich shops you order first so they have more time to heat your food like Potbelly or Quiznos or whoever. These folks have no clue. Don’t give them any of your hard earned money. Go to Nathan’s or the Italian place for a slice of pizza instead.
