No wonder they have been opened so many years. Their pizzas are great and so is the half baked idea.

Best pizza ever and the staff works extremely hard to make sure of it. Growing up we never did Pizza Hut or Dominoes, it was always Frankie’s. The crust is deliciously crunchy, and everything from the sauce to the toppings is equally amazing. Love this place and will never order from anywhere else!

Love Frankie’s pizza and judging by how hard it was trying to get my order in through the phone, so does everyone else. We felt like having some pizza after leaving the mall but the phone number wouldn’t go through and they weren’t taking any online orders, so we decided to walk in. I must say the lady behind the counter is extremely skilled and patient. Not only was she taking orders by phone(and having people cancel once they found out they don’t deliver) but she was also taking orders from the incoming crowds as well. We ordered two large pizzas, one half baked pepperoni and another cooked pepperoni. I kept hearing everyone order a half baked and I was like okay, sure, I’ll try it. Here I am thinking that the half baked can be eaten as is. Please know that the half baked means you can take it home to finish cooking lmao. The best part of Frankie’s was the sample slice they placed on top the box when they gave me my pizzas. This way I can try the pizza without letting cold air into the hot pizzas in the box(smart) because who waits until they get home to eat it anyways? The pizza was crisp and the cheese tasted different from other pizzerias(in a good way). I prefer the half baked to finish at home, that way you can eat it with the gooey, melting cheese fresh out of the oven. I like that they cut the pizza into squares, maybe this is how they trick you into thinking you haven’t ate as much pizza as you really have. I wish I lived closer because I would definitely choose Frankie’s over any other pizza place in the area.

It was dinner when I came here. I saw this little spot selling authentic Italian pizza. At the drop of a hat I ordered their pepperoni pizza, definitely it was great. On the contrary, the place was super tiny but still worth it. For sure, I’ll be coming back here.

The only reason people think this place is amazing is because they are Miamians who don’t know any better. Mediocre pizza, bad service.

This place is awesome! Perfect crust and toppings every time! Very small, only seats about 3 to 4 people at the bar in front of the kitchen/ovens. Better for take out. They offer a «half baked» option so you can finish it at home. The now take credit cards!

*crunch crunch crunch* That’s all you’ll be hearing as you devour your order of Frankie’s pizza. This Westchester classic has anything but classic pizza — their pizza is very unique and very delicious! This is an awesome old school joint. In 2015, it celebrated its 60 years! My mom used to come here as a child and she’s had me hooked since my youngster days. Like I said, this pizza is unique. Square shaped pizza with lots of crunch and a funky but delicious cheese taste. Garlic rolls are very garlicky and very greasy so get ready to get messy! Make sure to eat your pizza right when it comes out. If you let it sit, it gets cold really quickly and the crust isn’t as crispy and good. Sometimes I’ve picked up my pizza a little late and found that it isn’t as good because it loses its freshness pretty quickly. They have an option to buy the pizza«half-Baked» so you can finish cooking it at home and eat it ultra fresh when you’re ready. All in all, I love Frankie’s.

This place is quite literally the flavor and smell of my childhood. Nary a week went by from the late 80s to the early 00s when I didn’t get ahold of some slices and garlic rolls. Gladly, that same wonder has remained– this place is still everything I want in comfort food, and more. The prices may be a little higher than I remember, but 30 years will do that. Either way, you get(IMO) the best pizza is Miami, and it’s aided by how quick they prepare your order, how simple things are kept, and their endless supply of R/C soda.(Only place I’ve accepted that stuff with a smile on my face) In closing, get a medium pepperoni, a dozen garlic rolls, and two R/Cs. You’ll thank me later, trust me.

Best pizza I have ever tasted, point blank! The pizza is crispy and just so different from your commercialized dominoes, Pizza Hut & papa johns. This place has been around since the 50s so you know they are doing something right. Best pizza in Miami!

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. I’ve been on the hunt for square pizza in South Florida for a while(It just tastes better, don’t ask me why) and I came across Frankie’s Pizza online. It looked delicious in the pictures and looked exactly like what I was looking for, a family owned business with square pizza! Plus I always drive by the famous sign so I had to stop by. I stopped by on a Saturday around 2pm, it was packed with locals and that was a great sign to me. This place HAS to be great, right? Or people wouldn’t be lined up just to order… Well I ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms and it took 20 minutes to get the pizza, which is fine with me. We paid over $ 15 for a medium 2 topping pizza, so I expected this pizza to be really good, sadly it wasn’t. I saw it made fresh so when I bit into the crust and it tasted stale, it didn’t make sense to me. The crust is horrible. When you take a bite you have to PULL because the crust is so hard. It’s not crispy like thin crust, it reminded me of really stale Pizza Hut pan pizza crust. I have noticed other Unilocalers comment on this stale tasting crust. Also, this pizza was extremely bland. The mushrooms were canned and were wet and rubbery on my pizza, the pepperoni tasted like nothing, the sauce was alright, and the cheese was really bad. It was the kind of cheese that instantly gets hard the moment it starts getting cold so it was a chore to chew. I really wanted to like this place. The employees were nice, the pizza shop itself was charming and they even had free things you can take like Frankie’s Pizza magnets and pencils, but sadly the pizza just fell flat. My search for delicious square pizza continues.

I LOVE this place. If i could give them 10000 stars i would. I have been coming here for 30 years. Its my favorite pizza ever. Crispy square cuts, fresh ingredients and always excellent. Not a restaurant though a few picnic tables outside. I drive 50 min one way for this. Go if you can!

Frankie’s is a legendary Miami institution. Unfortunately, the pizza is really not very good. Unless it has some nostalgia for you, better to give Frankie’s a pass. I had high expectations. Frankie’s has been around for decades. The staff was friendly when I placed my order. And the atmosphere was genuine and unpretentious(I mean, we are talking«no air conditioning» unpretentious). But the pizza. Dang. It is Sicilian style — cut square, thicker crust. The texture was really quite nice — the right mix of crispy and chewy. Unfortunately, there was no flavor of which to speak. Frankie’s had some of the most bland pizza I’ve eaten. One cool thing: they serve Del’s Lemonade. Few people here are familiar with Del’s, but it’s a frozen lemonade that originates from Rhode Island. Now, unfortunately, the Del’s that Frankie’s has is not the traditional Del’s you might be used to if you’ve had it in Rhode Island. Frankie’s has it self-serve from a frozen daiquiri type machine, it does NOT have the chunks of lemon rind in it, and it is sweeter than a regular Del’s Lemonade. All that said, it’s still pretty dang good and well worth trying if you come here.

Deliciously Crispy. Not your regular pizza pie! Square slices, yumm! Great customer service. This is definitely a hole in the wall. No tables inside so either take out or sit out back!

This place is «iconic» on 40thST and after so many years of passing by it, I decided to try it. I walked in and ordered my medium pepperoni pizza and was told it would take 25 – 30 minutes, no problem, I waited. After 20 minutes my pizza was ready and it looked great! I love getting pizza right out of the oven, that’s when it’s at its best. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case with Frankies Pizza. How is it that pizza crust right out of the oven taste so stale? I wouldn’t know how to answer this question, but I do know that this was the last time I’ll be wasting my money on this place! Do yourself a favor and waste your pizza money(and calorie intake) somewhere else! P.s: totally unrelated, but the guy I ordered the pizza told my fiancé and I «help yourselves to some soda while you wait» and assuming«helping yourself» meant«free» we did, that wasn’t the case. It’s not a big deal, but wanted to spread the word just in case you didn’t want to spend money on soda you could’ve just had at home!

Reminds me of my childhood … In a bad way. Growing up the only pizza that my parents ever order was pepperoni pizza from the Pizza Hut. I wasn’t a fan of it then. I thought so little of my moms favorite pizza that I looked forward to the thing they called pizza at school. Well it pains me to say that after ordering a medium pepperoni from Frankies, the only thing I could think of is my mom saying«this pizza’s great» and I love my mom but she has horrible taste in food. Example, she considers Denny’s fine dining. I might have gotten a bad batch but my crust tasted old and even if it was fresh I could tell is that spongy type of crust that made the hut famous. I did very much enjoy the type of pepperoni they use. They have those little ones that form a cup of deliciousness when heated up. I feel bad giving a less than great review but I’m pretty easy to please and I just wasn’t

The half baked pizza is perfect to pick up and finish cooking at home– great when having to brave rush hour. They use quality ingredients. Always friendly! Frankie’s is a Miami treasure. Note: this pizza is unique– the crust is both crunchy and chewy, and the squares are cut prior to cooking, with each square prepared individually. You can order it half baked and finish off at home in 7 minutes in an oven pre-heated to 450, which is my favorite way to go. We usually get a half-baked large– half pep/mushroom, half deluxe, with a side of anchovies for my pieces when I cook it at home. I probably cook it a bit less at home than what you get if you pick up fully cooked… so a bit less crunchy than if cooked there. The large has 10 squares and an extra square, cheese only, is added in as a bonus. With a medium, a half square of cheese is added, with 8 pieces. This is very different from most pizza you’ve had!

My husband has been a Frankie’s customer for over 35 years. He passed down the tradition to our family and I’ve been a fan ever since. I LOVE their pepperoni with extra cheese pizza. It tastes perfectly crispy and delicious all around. The trick is to eat it as soon as it’s ready at Frankie’s or take a half-baked pizza to enjoy at home. They have a couple of bar stools for seating so if you’re up to eating standing, knock yourself out. But if you want to eat comfortably, then I suggest ordering a half-baked to warm up at home. Oh… and their garlic bread is yummy too!

Great pizza place right on Bird Road. It is not a restaurant but a carry out/pick up type of place. I called ahead on a Sunday night to place my order of medium pizza with two toppings. Once I arrived the place was packed, it is a relatively small store and once your order is ready they will call out your name and give it to you with a small complimentary pizza piece, that’s always a plus in my book. There is plenty of parking and a variety of drinks to choose from. Also, they take credit/debit cards.

One of Miami’s oldest pizza joints. Has survived for over 58 years. Small mom and pop place with no tables and a small counter to lean on and order your food or seat down in one if the three stools that are there. Most people place their orders over the phone or you can just walk in and order. You can either get it half baked. Which is not fully cooked and it’s a little cheaper than the fully cooked pizzas. They off several toppings to create your own personalized pizza. The staff is friendly and fast. They also just started taking Credit Cards!
