Horrible service and dirty glasses. I ordered Hennessy my glasses was so filthy I could not drink from the glass. Finger prints, food stains and a waiter with a bad attitude. Maybe down the road I’ll give this establishment a second chance.

The filet here is great and always cooked to perfection. But the most memorable part of my evening at Vix was our waiter. I don’t recall his name but he is a part-time comedian and cracking jokes all night. Thanks for the awesome dinner!

This was the third time I’ve been here. It’s a great old-school spot in the middle of South Beach. I like to stop here for a drink before going elsewhere, but looks like the food is great here as well. I recommend having a cocktail on the patio if you are there before they close, one of the best views on South Beach. Perfect for the 30 and over crowd… if you are sub-30 and looking for a more wild time. I recommend that you keep on walking to the Clevelander.

The breakfast potatoes were delicious! My vote is for the Cuban coffee and the view. The patio is a great location for breakfast, not to busy, locals working on the street, joggers, etc. There was a little bird flying in and out for crumbs, I thought it was the perfect addition to such a beautiful morning, I had to drop a few crumbs myself!

Employees standing on the sidewalk beckoning you to enter. 50% off menu items. Location on Ocean Drive. Everything screams, «don’t eat here!!» Since I’m working in the area though, a coworker took me here. Menu seems average; chicken fish, steak, pasta. I ordered the tenderloin and(creamed?) potatoes(also with spinach). Menu says $ 42, special probably-shouldn’t-be-eating-here price: $ 21. Request med-rare(got med). I also chose the«special dessert,» the Tiramisu which came in something like a rocks glass — lady finger suspended in mostly cream. There are better steaks and better Tiramisu’s. If I had paid the $ 42 I’d be let down. The food wasn’t bad. It wasn’t great, though. It wasn’t a $ 42 steak. But, it was ok. There wasn’t really anything that wrong with it. Some might call it a great meal, I’m just picky. The potatoes were a little mushy. The spinach was delicious. Three stars but if we only compare to Ocean Drive restaurants, it would be a four. Overall, a pleasant surprise.

The pish-posh décor which includes a large wall of jellyfish and fantastic ambience the courses of food start rolling in. The service was top-knotch. The ox risotto was creamy and perfectly seasoned, the seven sins dessert was incredible. The only overly-absurd thing was the citrus juice pallet cleansers served in small plastic droppers. Overall, great experience.

I went here for Miami Spice and was overall, very pleased. I conducted extensive research before going to make sure I wasn’t stiffed for choosing the Miami Spice option at such a pricey place. I’m very glad to have stumbled upon this place. First, the décor is worth seeing to begin with! Circa 1930s and there is even a $ 60,000 jellyfish tank that can be seen from anywhere in the main dining area. I ended up knocking a star off from my review simply because the regular priced menu is OUTRAGEOUS. Our Miami Spice menu was a whopping 50% off the normal prices for those dishes… The food: It started with complimentary pillow soft warm, naan bread and 3 dipping sauces. Each were divine. As a Miami Spice go-er, I felt privileged to get the free naan! I got the tempura soft-shell crab. It was my first soft shell experience and a delightful one at that. It was served with a garlic aoili type sauce over yellow heirloom tomatoes and a side salad with humboldt fog(goat) cheese. An enormous Miami Spice appetizer. My next course was the filet over garlic mashed potatoes with truffle oil and wild mushrooms. It was cooked to perfection. My only complaint would be that it was a small portion for a larger male, but the flavor was spot on and reminiscent of grandma’s brisket and taters. The peach shortcake with chantilly cream and blackberry coulis was subpar. I found the peach filling to be slightly bland, but the cream and the rest of the dessert was altogether a good finale. My friend ordered the spiked melon with lemoncello curd and prosecco sabayon. I recommend it sheerly for the awesome presentation. It came smoking! The Service: top notch. Besides each male waiter and busy boy being better looking than the next, they treated us like we weren’t on Miami Spice(as they should) and folded my napkin every time I left my seat. Overall, I was a little skeptical going in because of their Ocean Ave. address, but if you can get there before Miami Spice ends or if you’re wallet can handle it, I recommend it whole-heartedly!

One of the most enjoyable lunch experiences during Miami Spice. Warm ambiance, elegant décor, including a jellyfish tank, made a great first impression. The gazpacho was refreshing, tangy, savory with a hint of spice, very intriguing. I had the chicken breast while my partner had the snapper, both were grilled to perfection with subtle, sophisticated sauces. Large servings of crème brûlée topped two full stomachs, all the while aromatic, plentiful coffee kept the mood light and intoxicating(they brought a pitcher!). It was a stream of little, pleasant, bubbly surprises that made the afternoon quite memorable. Given the décor, I am sure Vix is quite a sexy joint at night. But give the relaxed, warmed lunch setting a try, you will be impressed.

If you are looking to splurge, the poolside bar is a good choice, just know that it’s a premium hotel with an indicative price tag. If you are lounging on a bed by the pool, the servers will refuse to serve you, unless you get a bottle or bucket. It the daylight a bucket sounds ideal, but be careful because for 6 beers it is $ 66…there is no discount for buying in bulk.

Oooooh la la is all I can say about this place. Some Miami places attract pretentious people but the crowd, the night I went there were awesome. This is a trendy place no doubt. Their décor is amazing, modern, simplistic, with fantastic lighting and overall their sound and DJ’s rocked. Have fun on the patio and let the South Beach air hit you in yer face! Drinks are pricey but who the hell cares, you are in Miami. Let loose and go here! Bottoms up!

It’s my first night at Art Basel and my friend books us for dinner at Vix. Already I get the supah-fab vibe from the décor and the feeling that my meal will not come cheap. The food is that quasi mediterranean/asia/local SoBe fusion that seems to only work in certain restaurants(it does here). The presentation is easily as fab as the interior, but really it does come down to the food for me. I started off with the two ceviches(one fish, one shrimp) which was excellent. There’s nothing I hate more that ceviche drowned in lime and this had wonderful flavors. My friend had the rock shrimp which he was happy with too. For entrees I opted for the black truffle risotto with braised oxtail solely on the recommendation of the hostess who raved about it. She was right — it was delish. My friend opted for the prawn and vegetable pad thai, which I couldn’t try since I have a peanut allergy, but he seemed pretty happy. btw… the presentation of food is somewhat over the top, but in keeping with the vibe of the place. My friend opted to drink his dessert — the key lime pie — which came in a huge martini glass and did indeed taste like key lime pie(with much alcohol). I had dulce de leche ice cream — I had been craving dulce de leche for days and where else to have it than in SoBe. Service started to get a bit spotty once the place got crowded with multiple big parties, but otherwise our waiter was pretty attentive. And as good as the food was I still think it was a bit overpriced. It was about the atmosphere though. I guess when you have a restaurant attached to a fab boutique hotel on Ocean Dr. this is par for the course.

Went here to try out the menu… during Spice Miami. Very impressed. The ceviche was awsome. So fresh and with just the right amount of lemon. The churrasco was medium rare the way i like it and was nice and juicy. The dessert also didn’t let me down. I ambiance was cool and modern. Lighting set the mood and the DJ in the bar area set the tone with a great mix of classic hip hop and techno beats with the occasional r&b tune. I’ll be back.

Vix located in boutique Hotel Victor and operated by Hyatt Hotels was designed by a French Designer Jacques Garcia. The atmosphere is influenced by the Jellyfish. Design elements including lighting are all influenced by the Jellyfish(note the live Jellyfish tank). All materials are rich and very stylized. The food ranges from fish, seafood, and meat. All done very well in relaxed dining experience. The warm bread basket with four unique spreads is a excellent start. Service is friendly and attentive. The wine list is extensive and a good cocktail list as wel as nice desserts. I have dined here for three years and have had about thirty dinners here and have enjoyed them all. It is probably the best HOTEL Dining experience on OCEANDRIVE with consistent food and service. It is expensive and valet parking is available though the hotel. The hotel has a nice lounge and DJ on Thursdays to Saturday on the second floor. Good for a date, romantic dinner, business dining.

This place looks great on the inside. The setup of the bar and the surrounding tables and chairs was spectacular. Everything seemed so pretty, funky, and just straight up chic. You feel classier times 2 when you walk into the place because it’s just SO nice. Don’t get me wrong — You don’t have to wear a ball gown just to come drink here. I wore a jean skirt and tank top(as did the two girls I came with). But there’s just something about the atmosphere that makes you feel just a tiny bit more sophisticated. Can’t go wrong with a little sophistication! It’s very chill and has a somewhat upscale lounge-type feel to it. Great place to have a few drinks and socialize. It’s also a great place to sit on the floor in front of your two friends — who happened to be leaning up against each other, passed out — and take multiple goofy pictures(either holding a drink, or flipping the birds). Not that I’ve ever done that before. Nope. Not I. :)

Trendy décor and pumping house music(with a live DJ) makes Vix a great start to a big night. I began with the two taste ceviche which was awesome, two piles of fresh fish and shrimp in different spicy sauces(watch out it’s got habanero!). Next I had the fillet migon which was tasty though drier than I’d have liked. Finally I finished the meal with a chocolate tasting, 8 spoons of choco-liscious ecstasy. Solid four star meal and you know I love a great house DJ! But for that same reason, I would be hesitant bringing older(the ‘rents) or younger(the kids) folks to dine here.

The ambiance was superb. I felt like I was in an underwater Atlantis. The beautiful jellyfish-like chandeliers added just the right lighting for our dinner. The bar, oh so sexy. I rolled up here to celebrate my birthday with 5 of the most fabulous sistas I know.(My little sister was one of them, what can I say, it runs in the family!) Anywho, the cocktails were delicious, our waiter was– I mean, looked yummy. Our entrees/desserts were delectable. I am going to have to say this is probably one of the most pleasurable dining experiences in my thirty-something years.

Wind through the lobby and you’ll find the hotel’s bar is expansive, with tons of seating! Drinks were well-priced and not overpriced. The bartenders here were very cool, giving us suggestions of where to keep the drink-fest going, calling their friends to get us into nearby clubs, and not kicking out those who passed out on the couch. Great for the younger crowd looking for no-attitide classy lounge on Ocean Dr.

We went to the restaurant for a good friend’s birthday. Luckily he’s a good friend because the food was excellent and original… have you heard of no bread bread. That said, the bill was $$$$$, the most spendy birthday bill we’ve seen in a long time. We heard that the a member of the local basketball team, a celeb had his birthday here.
