If you are a craft beer lover, this place is just for you! Prices are affordable and music excellent! Nice ambient to visit with friends.

I visited three bars during a brief weekend trip to Miami, and though I liked all three, only one was calm and relaxing during peak hours. I went to the Abbey Brewing Company at around 10:30 on a Saturday and stayed for a few hours with a big group of friends. The bar we’d just left had been crawling with people, with a long, disorderly line outside waiting to get in. The Abbey was quiet enough that we were able to sit at a big, comfortable table, and the place didn’t come close to reaching capacity while we were there. Incredibly, it was a nice spot with a lot of ambiance, the kind of bar that should have been swamped but just wasn’t. Maybe it’s a little too low key for Miami nightlife. Fine by me. I loved the vibe of this place. It felt solid and dignified, with dim lighting and wood everywhere. Service was great – there was table service, even though we were just ordering some drinks. We lingered for a long time, catching up for hours in this very pleasant, hospitable bar. The drinks were great, too. There was a nice selection of house brews. I tried the IPA, the tripel, and the quad, and all three were excellent. I love malty high alcohol beers so these really hit the spot. I also enjoyed the Abbey smokehouse old fashioned, which was a solid boozy version of the classic. If I lived in Miami, the Abbey Brewing Company would be my nightlife oasis. The drinks were good and it just felt good and soothing to be there. Would whole-heartedly recommend if you like conversation with your beer, and don’t mind missing out on the extreme high energy of the rest of Miami’s bar scene.

Must visit place for anyone into excellent Belgian brews or rare whiskey and bourbon. I have been here only twice(it’s an easy walk from Lincoln Rd). They typically brew 4 beers offsite and have a good selection of craft beer taps. The Brother Aaron’s Quad and Brother Dan’s Double are amazing, both have notes of candied fruits, raisin, toffee, and a bit of chocolate. Their Father Theodore’s stout is lighter(obviously) with a deep roasted coffee flavor and a touch of chocolate and fruit. The bar has a total old world feel(wooden tables, etc) with a mix of locals, beer tourists, some hipsters, and always some walking in expecting a Bud Light. I wish I could comment directly on the whiskey menu but am not much of an expert. Outstanding and rare collection by far though.

We stopped by this bar before we were seated for dinner next door since there was a bit of a wait. Cozy, dim lights, noise level was moderate, pretty space-y. We had a large group, 12 girls so we had to be seated in the larger area, which seats are super comfy. Our bartender was awesome. It was for a bachelorette, so we took some shots and asked the bartender if he was down for a body shot(there was a scavenger hunt with the bachelor party) and he was! But we ended up with a different volunteer and it worked out better, we accidentally spilled the shot in his pants LOL. Overall, pretty laid back area to relax and drink.

Light and airy are not the first things that go through your mind as you step into this establishment. It definitely is dark. BUT it served its purpose as a respite from the super strong beach sun. Friendly servers and an interesting beer selection are here too. A good snack selection definitely is not here. We found out a little too late that you can order from the place next door and they’ll bring it to you, so definitely go that route if you’re hungry.

Really great well crafted beers. Only improvement would be if they served food — the restaurant next door will bring you food, but I’d suggest getting take out from the one on the corner. Very enjoyable way to spend an evening in Miami Beach.

The Abbey is what made our trip to Miami. We visited this past weekend and the bartender Mike hooked it up. That man needs a raise. We liked it so much we left and came back! There are some other cool bars in the neighborhood but this one takes the cake – double happy hour, where’s bad! Thanks for the great time, Mike you da MVP!!!

Wow! Their ipa and schwartzweizen are awesome! This is one of the few ipa’s that is actually balanced, not just hitting you with hops hops and more hops. All of their beers show off expert brewing skills, even the dubbel is in the same class as those straight out of Belgium. Awesome place, good prices and a dart board.

Very cool bar. It’s very dark and has a laid back atmosphere. The tunes are great too. From old Creedence to 90s grunge and more. The beer selection is quite interesting and delicious. I like this place also because it’s so different than all the other phony places in Sobe. It’s darned hard to find because the signage is minimal but do yourself a favor a check it out.

Short walk from the ocean drive/collins drag. Nothing to eat aside from chips pretzels n nuts but the beer is fantastic. Brewed off site up in cape canaveral. Cool place if you are not looking for hipster-fancy.

This is a chill spot around the corner from the Lincoln Road Mall. Solid draft options with about 5 happy hour specials for $ 4 and two good size TVs for sports. Ask for the old school darts.

I’ve loved this place since my friend from high school opened it. He has since moved on(and opened another fantastic bar). But The Abbey still has a special place in my heart, for good beer and good memories alike. When I went last week, I hadn’t been in years. But time has been good to the Abbey, and it now has more room and a bigger beer selection. The Abbey dates back to a time when South Beach was at its peak, just nice enough to give you a reason to go, but not so packed with throngs of tasteless tourists and glitz to make you sorry you came. If you’re in South Beech and looking for a sense of what it used to be like in the old days … give up, because those days are long past. But the Abbey may be just about as close as you can get.

I was at the Abbey in July doing a flight of beers. The perfect way to try the assortment without getting(too) drunk. Immediately, when we came in, the bartender greeted us and came to our table. Super friendly and helpful. Beer is great. I tried six of them and all was to my satisfaction. I tried 4 or 5 breweries when in Miami area and The Abbey was together with JWB a favourite. It was pretty chilly at the tables due to the AC so do not come here too«naked».

Small and intimate pub. Dark with wood panelling, seats like church pews and decorated in cheesy abbey-esque style. It has a huge drink menu, but doesn’t serve food. But they allow you to bring in your own food, and they are next door to Ceviche, which has wonderful food. They even have Ceviche’s menu available on the tables.

I hadn’t been here in years and I brought my bf who is new to Miami and loves beer. We ordered the flight and I have found my favorite, although I can’t remember the actual name(triple sisters?). The bartenders were friendly and there seemed to be a lot of regulars as evidenced by all the greetings going back and forth. I liked that I could spark conversations with other patrons and get some feedback on what they like from the shelf. I can’t wait to go back for Whiskey Wednesday and sample some of the suggestions. I liked the mix of snuggled couples, solo sippers and friend groups here. I won’t stay away so long anymore.

My first visit here was years ago as the last stop on a little Miami Beach bar crawl I was doing. This time I came here after a CMYE. I bellied up to the bar and order their flight to have the opportunity to sample the five Abbey beers they currently had on tap. As the name of the place would suggest, the beers were Belgian inspired. I really enjoyed all of them! Truly, everyone that comes here should get the flight. If you don’t try them here then you’re not going to try them anywhere else. The biggest downside of The Abbey is with pricing. Everything is way overpriced. That was my most expensive beer flight ever at $ 18, and I have had flights with three times as many beers as they offered. The Abbey has an excellent offering of craft beer bottles, but once again all of them were way overpriced. There was a bottle of Mikkeller that I just bought for $ 12 in Louisville, but the South Beach markup had it at $ 38! What do you expect this close to Lincoln Road? Most people don’t even know about this place, and others don’t even realize it is, in fact, a brewery. A pretty cool concept in a high end location like this. The Abbey is well decorated with its theme. The benches at the tables are more like those you’d find in, well, an abbey. There is a stained glass window decoration at the bar. The entire place is dim, and I mean that in the best way. I enjoyed that they offer communal seating and darts. Meet up as SFLHops to the next beer event at

Definitely a locals bar and I LOVE that. It’s very small in space but never lacking of cool looking people and hipsters, oh and also Movember enthusiasts :), gotta love a bearded man. The service was amazing, as soon as we got there my friend and I sat down and were offered drinks. They don’t have any food at the bar but you’re allowed to bring your own as long as you’re Drinking their Delicious drinks and beers, tonight I had beers that my friend knew better because she goes there often but they were perfect and kept me buzzed ;). Next time I’ll bring some food I think. PS: on Sundays they have free Hot dogs :) and they boiled them in beer :) yummy
