I live in Boston but travel to Miami at least 4 times a year. Radio is literally my first stop when I get off the plane and the last stop before I head back to the airport. I stumbled upon this place about 3 years ago during WMC/Ultra week. Refreshingly, it wasn’t playing house music like the rest of south beach. Every time I come here, I’ve heard great DJ’s playing the best throwbacks mixed with current hip-hop. Even though it’s a dive, it has a very elegant feel. It is the best of both worlds. The cocktails are handcrafted and the menu is curated by some of the best bartenders in Miami. Every time I walk in, I am warmly greeted with«I knew you’d be back soon» from one of the bartenders, followed by «I can’t wait for you to try …» I literally can not say enough good things about this place. It is my home away from home in Miami. I look forward to visiting again!

My five friends and I chose this place for drinks after a bridal shower we had attended. Our primary reason in choosing this bar was the Unilocal discount they were offering on their specialty cocktail drinks once you«check in». After the first friend indicated that she wanted to redeem the discount and showed the bartender she had checked in, the attitude from the staff ensued. When it was my turn to order, I showed the«checked in» screen to the female bartender with curly hair(pretty sure her name was Maribel) to which she replied NOTHING and took my phone from my hands and walked away. I thought it was a bit weird but I was trying to not over-analyze how seemingly rude this felt. About five minutes later, the bartender had still not returned my phone(which was unlocked and she had access to everything in my phone… a total stranger) so I asked her nicely«Could I have my phone back please?». Her response«I’m not trying to steal your phone honey! You don’t need to worry. It’s back there and they are looking at it for the check-in. It’s not like I want your phone.» Extremely condescending. ANDITSTILLTOOKHERANOTHER5MINUTESTOGIVEMEBACKMYPHONE. I HADTOASKHERAGAINFORITTOWHICHSHEJUSTROLLEDHEREYESATMEANDSNATCHEDTHEMENUFROMBETWEENMYFINGERS. And to add insult to injury, when my drink finally came(15 minutes later), it tasted AWFUL. Don’t waste your time or money coming to this place with their horrible customer service and crappy well drinks they call«specialty cocktails». And RADIOBAR: DON’T OFFERDISCOUNTSANDGETANGRYWHENYOURCLIENTSREDEEMTHEM?

First time in this place and from the minute I walked into the door I was disappointed. Went in through the alley entrance, there was about 20 people last night. After a bunch of commotion about a stupid drink not being on the menu, the other bartender ended up making it for me. I was charged $ 15.34 for something I could of made for $ 10.00 definitely not worth it. Don’t know what all the fuss about this place was… Really disappointed $ 15.00 I could of spent on gas lmao.

This place has terrible service! DONOTCOMEHERE! I was here last night for a friend’s birthday and the male bartender was incredibly disrespectful and I’ll-mannered!!! It’s shocking that they let someone who was CLEARLY raised by Russell Crowe work in customer service! One of our friends went to order a Blue Long Island for his girlfriend when he was told by this male bartender to «Get the f*** out of here, we don’t sell that s*** here.» He then continues with«this is my bar, I only sell hard liquor. If you want to drink Blue Long Islands, go to South Beach!» Now I know this place only serves craft drinks but there is ABSOLUTELY no need for that kind of uncivil service when someone orders a drink that«isn’t on the menu»… Even though we ended up getting the Blue Long Island from the other bartender. I was also reading other reviews on this place and this isn’t the first time someone complains about how rude the male bartender is! Get a new bartender! Or at least take a etiquette class.

Alright, alright, ALRIGHT Radio Bar. You won me over and I am an official fan of your happy hour. I’m not one for packed bars but if you come early enough, this place hits the spot on a weeknight after work when you’re simply in the mood to drown your stress away in one(or maybe four) RICKYROSÉSSSSSS. The bar food is appetizing enough but don’t expect to have a full meal here. A little sandwich here, some popcorn there, maybe insert a spinach dip over there, I ain’t mad at cha baby. Thanks for turning me into a believer, RB.

In south beach for Art week, Art Basel, we relied on Unilocal reviews and search to find us here. This place was exactly what we needed after being on our feet all day! The décor, retro feeling, urban and modern. 90s hip hop jammed all night that we we’re loving! Retro radios all over, a couple of nice seating areas, pool table and a small seating/patio area out back with a giant white radio tower above you! We loved all the details of this bar, to the Easy E grafitti portrait, the galvanized metal(wood topped) that had purse hooks and changing light colors. They even had a light outside front door that said«Now Playing».We had a helpful bartender and asking for recommendations off menu went with two of the speciality seasonal cocktails, both delicious. Mine had coconut rum, coconut milk, vanilla and pineapple– heavenly. They also had your standard classic cocktails and good beer representation on tap. Overall, we just loved the relaxed vibe here, if I was local to Miami this would definitely be a haunt for me! Loved it!

Stopped in here after dinner at around 10 on a Monday night, and even on an early weeknight, which tends to be an off night for most places, the music from Radio Bar could be heard pumping away as we approached. The entrance is a bit odd for sure. You walk into the first entrance door, then before the bouncer can allow you through the door to the actual bar, you must first shut the first entrance door behind you. Kind of like an air lock chamber. My only hope is that, in the case of a fire or emergency, that’s not the only way to exit, as only 3 or 4 people max can fit into the space between the doors and be let in or out at any given time. Once inside, I nearly got whacked by the game they have just inside the entrance where there’s a weight on a string and patrons swing it to try and get it to land on the hook that’s mounted to the wall. Past that, I was impressed by how full this place was on a Monday night! It wasn’t packed, but it was full of people of all types — hipsters, tourists, people dressed up in skinny jeans, vests and dress shoes to others that were wearing faded t-shirts, basketball shorts and sneakers. We just stopped in to grab a beer, 2 Modelo drafts were $ 17 which included the included 18% gratuity. The music was good the entire time we were here and people were dancing away, bartenders were fast and friendly and I liked the décor and vibe of this place. I’d definitely come back.

I came to Radio around the time it opened and thought it was incredible. I was also already extremely inebriated before entering, so that goes to show how the drunk mind works because I returned and was so disappointed with the experience. My first time(which was years ago) this place was packed beyond capacity. Even with the crowd, I always had a drink in my hand and didn’t have a problem ordering. When i returned, it was an empty night, the drink prices were higher than they had been before and the music was awful. Its paid almost $ 25 for a beer and a simple vodka ginger ale. Not the price point I expect, but it is South Beach so I guess its forgivable because its another tourist trap… which makes me sad. I mean, the oldest bar on SoBe, Club Deuce, makes it work so I’m not sure why others cant. The only music they played this particular night I returned was 90s rap and hip hop which are good! But not the only thing I would like to hear. I was very turner off and actually hurried to finish my expensive drink because a server approached me and let me know that the tables were all reserved and she would be asking me to leave whenever the people who reserved them arrived. Understandable, but the place was empty and I doubt they were gonna show up anytime soon. I get that she was forewarning me, but she could have waited because it was shortly after 10pm and every other table was empty. We are in a dive bar, not LIV. I hope this place shapes up. It has a lot of potential.

We paid a visit to Radio at 915p on a Sat night. The place was empty, aside from the two shooting pool at the table in the corner. For me, it worked. I was able to take in the open space with benches lining the open floor. The 90s hip hop was blasting. I ordered a bourbon neat so I can’t say much for tasting any of the cocktails. However, I did notice they do have a decent mixology set up with herbs & citrus. Definitely not your rum-n-coke type of place. If that’s still your taste, grow up.

This is one of my favorite little hidden bars in South Beach. I been here a handful of times to know this place is not one of those bars that was a great hidden gem in the beginning and then went downhill after the hype. This place has been consistent over the past years. I been to Radio some evenings/nights when I can it was DEAD, and also been here on a nights where it was insanely packed, and we were all stuck in one spot like sardines. Both times, I have to say, was still a pretty good time regardless. The music is always great, and they always switch it up. They mostly stick with old-school hip-hop though. Can’t complain! They have pool tables in the front, plenty of private areas to sit and talk(even though it’s a lil loud) and a back room area jenga and games. The décor inside makes the vibe feel very roomy and intimate. It is my go to place to pre-game before heading out to the main event around the beach area. The craft cocktails here is what makes this place what it is! The bartenders here know what they’re doing for sure. Last night they were promoting this new whiskey from ‘WhistlePig’, and had really decent priced drinks on the menu for the promo. The old fashion the bartender made me was strong, smooth, and had an amazing orange zest to it. If you are looking for a nice bar for a cute date night, or a chill spot for you and your friends to come and unwind, that doesn’t have the typical Miami Beach touristy scene, or just simply want a damn good drink from a bartender who know’s how to craft one, Radio’s your spot.

Had the worst experience ever! Would never go back to such an unfriendly place. Bartender«stefano» gave us attitude when we asked about a drink. We said we bartend at the W hotel and he goes um congratulations?

Incessant ghetto hip-hop drone on the jukebox. The most garish ghetto graffiti(oops! sorry … art!!) on the wall. Ghetto sports on numerous TV’s behind the bar. All in all, an abrasive ghetto experience in the very heart of SoFi, a neighborhood billed as the poshest, priciest and most«sophisticated» in Miami Beach. Curiously, they consider themselves«a Place for the Locals»!! Enough said … Beam me up Scottie!

No cover charge is rare in South Beach, but Radio Bar is free entrance even on a Saturday. The entrance is outback due to a noise ordnance in SoFi so you go in through the back Alley, a little stinky upon the approach but when you enter the chill atmosphere quickly hits you. You enter a small courtyard with chairs and a large Jenga game avaliable to play. Then you enter through a single leaf door into the actual lounge where you’re met with a pool table. Further back on the left is the bar which goes across the left side nearly the span of the place. In front of the bar there are comfy lounge sofas and tables, and if no bottles have been purchased you may sit free of charge. The music was good, having a 90s hip hop genre through the night which was enjoyable. The drinks were made with fresh ingredients, and the bar tenders were experienced in their craft. The prices were also great for SoBe Over all I enjoyed this venue, it was a classier version of Purdy Lounge to me. I’ll definitely be back.

Interesting bar located on the southern end of South Beach. You probably wouldn’t know it’s there unless you’re looking for it. I walked by it several times before noticing it was a different business from its neighbor. Inside it’s fairly large and could house many patrons at once if standing/dancing. I was here on a weekday, a Tuesday to be precise. So, I didn’t encounter the massive amounts of people mentioned by others. I can, however, picture it getting rather crowded. There is space inside for it. Inside you will find one long bar, some seating of which part looks like a little library, a pool table, old radios throughout, TVs and, although not sure, I could swear that was a radio tower in the backyard area. It’s simple and dark inside. It’s nothing fancy. Just simple and to the point. All in all, if I’m in the area again in need of Evil Liquids, I would make a stop here.

This place never disappoints. Radio is a laid back, unpretentious for south beach bar/lounge, serving some of the most delicious and creative crafted cocktails, which change every month or so. Sure, the drinks here might be South Beach priced, but the atmosphere here is not. They have a pool table, a small outdoor area and a few other games scattered around the inside to keep you entertained. The music is awesome. Always. Less house, more old school hip hop, and there are a few lounge areas you can sit at without being VIP. Again, very unsouth beach like. The population of this place is late twenties and over. The only reason I am not giving this place five stars is because smoking is permitted inside. With an outdoor area, I don’t see why these smokers can’t just go outside.

This is a great spot to be, if you are there on the party nights it’s great for dancing the 90’s /00’s music is pretty awesome. If you need a break from the dancing inside, you can always catch a break in the back where you can catch the breeze and strike up a conversation with other people there without the music blasting. As for the bartenders, wow these people are FAST! So to sum up nice art, beer selection, fast bartenders, music, and diversity with a touch of class is what this place is all about. Been here plenty of times and will be back again!

I have been living a block and a half away from this place for over a year and never been. Have no idea why, but ventured over on Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised. This is not a huge place but not too small. I would say about 2000 sf. There is a long bar and some booth type seats along the walls and the rest is open space. In the back there is a pool table and to my surprise was available and FREE of charge. I love places with free perks! The service was good to me. The bartenders were attentive. The drinks were not too over priced. I paid $ 15 for a top shelf vodka red bull which can be over $ 25 at most places. The music was mixed from 70’s funk to 80’s music, to old school r&b. which I enjoyed. The vibe was nice, 20 something’s to 30 something’s. had a big locals vibe, which I love. Will def visit again.
