The place looked inviting and nice. The drinks looked good but taste was horrible and made with cheap liquor. This is what gives u a headache in the morning. Garbage. Would never get anything from this place.

This was such a strange experience. I knew that Ocean Drive is a tourist trap but we decided to brave it anyway because we just wanted a nearby place to eat and unwind after driving down from Orlando. We were seated outside in a prime spot for people watching. There was no signage that I could see anywhere so I asked the server the restaurant name and I swear he said The Social. But when I went to check in here on Unilocal it came up as The Kitchen, and the street address matched up. The server tried really hard to sell us on ordering the paella, but we decided to split an Italian sausage pizza and each ordered a drink. The pizza was a decent value with a good amount of toppings and tasted great.(I don’t remember the exact price anymore but I want to say it was around $ 12-$ 14.) I had noticed that at the bottom of the menu the drinks were listed as $ 15/$ 25 but hadn’t thought too much about it. $ 15 seemed high for a mango mojito but we figured that’s the mark up for being on South Beach. When the drinks came out they were huge so that seemed to justify the $ 15 price tag. We actually had a good time until the bill came out and it was $ 80! Turns out they automatically brought us the $ 25 drinks. We were upset because that’s not what we planned on paying but at the same time we hadn’t specified and we’d finished the drinks so there didn’t seem to be much room for argument. We should have noticed that even with the drinks at $ 25 each, the $ 80 bill was too high, but we’ll blame our fuzziness on the drinks. We tipped on top of the $ 80 and didn’t realize until much later that the bill had gratuity already included. And that’s how they get you. Honestly the food and drinks were good and we enjoyed the South Beach vibe, but I’m only rating The Kitchen two stars for what I feel are deceptive business practices.

Worst service ever. No one came to check on us(because they were busy on cellphones) and when I went to ask a waiter a question, I couldn’t get it out before being told he can’t answer my questions because I had to ask the waitress waiting on me. Went to talk to the manager, she just gave excuses for everyone for why no one did their job. Don’t waste your time or money here. Only reason there is one star is because I have to put something.

We went in for a late night snack and drinks and the experience was absolutely terrible. The waitress«forgot» our order twice. Yes, the place was not busy. We were the only table occupied in the restaurant/bar. She then got us the wrong drinks and insisted that the drink was what we had ordered. Finally, the bar tab was so atrociously expensive that it was too much. And with service charge included, we really did not have any option but to pay and leave in disgust. No apologies from the waitress or anyone else were offered on our way out either. PLEASEDON’T GOTOTHISESTABLISHMENT!

My wife and I were here a year ago and I just looked for my review. It disappeared. I’m not sure if I used bad language or not, but I probably did. Believe the one star reviews. This place will rip you off. It’s disgusting that they are in business.

What a rip off! Never go there. Their menu doesn’t list the price and then they deceive you with the wrong price. Charged $ 105 for one seafood plate. BEWARE!

Sometimes Unilocalers are wrong. Randomly picked while walking down Ocean Drive. Stopped during happy hour to grab a quick Dinner. We had one of the half priced offerings, a couple of entrees, an appetizer, and a few drinks. Fast service, fast food, great people watching. Glad I went with my gut and didn’t read reviews before hand. Perfect location to see the best if South Miami. Thanks for a great meal.

strong ass drinks!!! Coconut shrimp was amazing. The cosmopolitan was basically a roofie. The food and drinks were half off — that’s why we stopped in.

The price is ridiculous, food is so so. Don’t go there. We had a piña colado, it was like I was drinking some juice. But service was good.

Ate breakfast here a couple of times during my stay in MIA. Ordered the breakfast special and an orange juice and the orange juice was almost as much as the meal. LOL. So drink water if you really really went for the special but if you are in Miami to have fun and not worry about a few extra dollars spent then you will be fine. (I read some of the other reviews and I am just glad we only ate breakfast because I would have hated to get hit with a $ 500 for no good reason. Oh and just an fyi, they add a «service» fee to the check.) I didn’t take any pictures since it was breakfast food. Nothing special. Nothing different from any other breakfast food. One of the times I got either french toast or Belgium waffles and it was so good. So basically, this was my breakfast spot during my stay and I would go back… for breakfast.

This place is a for real scam and tourist trap. On top of that, the food and drinks are awful. 0 stars. The Eggs Benedict was cold, the Bloody Mary was very plain, and the drinks were outrageously overpriced. The prices for the drinks aren’t listed on the menu. So, we were surprised when the server dropped off the check that 1 drink was $ 25 a piece. $ 75 for 3 drinks is insane. They also include 19% gratuity on all checks(we only had 3 people) for equally bad service. Our total bill was $ 130 for 3 drinks and 3 small breakfast plates(which were advertised for less than $ 10 each). They prey on customers being naïve and expecting an honest business.

$ 214.00 Too Much for one plate steak, chicken, soup, margarita and beer. In TGI Fridays order the same with 2 plates didn’t paid more than 80 dollars.

Searched high and low to find a slice of key lime pie and at midnight this place delivered. The pie was the perfect blend of sweet crunchy and tart. Great night cap.

Hands down an awesome place to enjoy breakfast and I can’t forget about the Happy Hour Specials starting at breakfast time! They offer great food options and feature $ 5.50 breakfast options too! The staff is super friendly and I have to mention the Jumbo Sized Mimosa!

Kitchen was great! Came here for dinner while I was visiting south beach and had a very good experience for once on south beach! No gimmicks with the drinks and or dinner specials! Service could’ve definitely been better but compared to most of the crooks on south beach that lie and deceive the tourist to get them in the restaurant this place tried but didn’t succeed. As my partner and I took a stroll in ocean drive we looked for a place for dinner a guy pulls us in explains that everything on the menu was 20% off and the drinks were two for one. Well we ordered a burger and some pasta. Both dishes were great! One Long Island and a Long Beach for cocktails! Strongly made! I think they do that to make sure you can’t comprehend your bill when it comes but no sir I live in Vegas so I know how to handle my alcohol haha! Not that everybody in Vegas can but just saying. We got the bill and as promised the food was 20% off but the drinks didn’t have it! We had to chase down the guy who told us this just to get the bill changed but all in all it was a good dinner!

Despite the great time we had here with my group of friends, they ripped us off really bad. They lured us in with their personal 20% discount AND free drinks. Our shots were free but our fishbowl drinks were not. $ 45 each! It was insane, not to mention the $ 100+ platters of seafood and meat. Total bullshit, especially when there were no prices on the menu either!!! Our waitress was fun and nice but it was also a rip off when she told us that the service charge did not include her tip. We were also too tipsy to notice so we tipped her anyway, but I hope NOONECOMESTOTHISRESTAURANT. You can get your meal’s worth elsewhere for 1⁄10th the price.

Really? They tried to stick us $ 175 for 6 drinks! REALLY? Do not go here! This is a serious rip off! I would give no stars if possible. Never go to ocean Ave Restuarant. $ 45 mohitos! Toxic rip off. It was all I could do to keep Momma K from ripping the throat out of the waiter…

What can I say this place is like most of the places on Ocean Drive. The rip off happy hour specials two drinks for $ 45. They trick you cause it’s for one person. Meaning one person drinking those huge punch bowl drinks… I’m not an alcoholic so I’ll never be able to do that. Calamari was good… ummm that’s about it.

Insanely expensive. The T-Bone steak is the thinnest piece of meat I have ever seen in the United State. The Paella was yellow rice with seafood. Did nor taste like Paella. Service was ok. The tips was included in the bill but the waiter told me it was nor for him but for the hostess, sure. He sad they did not pay salary so if I wanted I could pay him some cash. Don’t go there and waist your money. For this amount of money you can go to one of the best places in town.
