I wouldn’t suggest here to anyone except for tourists who want to experience the«South Beach» experience. The only reason we stopped here is because we can walk back home. So the price makes itself up in gas, convenience, and the fact that you can take the huge drink portions home. But for anyone who has to drive to South Beach, eat before you come. Or hit up Friday’s, Wet Willie’s, or some kind of chain and leave these tourist traps alone. We got 2 for 1 drinks which I already knew would be $ 25. My strawberry mojito was perfectly mixed and sweet, the amount of liquor was substantial. The cups are huge and I filled my take home cup to the top which is crazy since it’s like a bucket size, lol. My penne alla vodka was soooooo good. They left me the parmesan to keep spooning cheese. I love cheese. We also got some kind of broccoli, spinach, and chicken dish which was great too. The portions are small which sucks because both entrees came up to $ 30+. Which is stupid and pretentious and oh so «South Beach» to serve bird size portions for the prize of a mortgage.

What others say are true. Only regret was that I couldn’t find this review before I ate because the name is Kitchen. My iced tea glass was so dirty. How did I know? The fly flew on my straw so I took it off looking to drink from the glass. Big mistake. The burger was okay but the fries were so oily, it tasted like it was soaked in oil. In addition they added 18% gratuity and I don’t think they gave me the 20% off. Come to think of it, I’m changing it from two stars to one star.

I literally was just at this place and when I say that it deserves ZERO stars, I am in no way exaggerating. A friend and I were looking for some place cute to eat dinner on Ocean Drive and came across this place. It looked good, the 2 for 1 drinks looked even better, and we were sold. After being seated, our waiter took our drink order, but was unable to put out order in for quite some time because he was too busy flirting with the chicks at the table next to us to do his job. After 15 minutes, he arrived back with our drinks and took our meal order. The food arrived quickly(maybe too quickly?) but of course, our server was not the one to bring it out to our table(again, too busy trying to get his mack on). The food was ok; overpriced but it is South Beach after all. When our check arrived, we saw that an 18% gratuity was automatically added to the check. However, it was stated that we were free to adjust the gratuity as we felt fit, and so we did. To our surprise, our waiter came back to our table informing us that we were 10 dollars short(the missing 10 dollars was the portion of tip that we felt he did not deserve) After arguing with us, he tried to tell us that the suggested tip was in fact mandatory and our choices were to either pay it or speak with a manager. We just wanted to get on with our night and so we paid the full suggested(and totally undeserved tip) and got the fuck out of this place. It’s a shame that we had such a shady, inattentive waiter, because the rest of the waitstaff and employees seemed really nice. To R Nicholas(our waiter), you are a douchbag. If you kept your mind on your job/money and not on scoring underage tail, you’d earn your tips rather than trying to con customers into paying.

I was already sitting at the table when I decided to go on to Unilocal and check out the reviews. I was really apprehensive after reading them, but continued on and didn’t tell my fellow diners about the poor reviews. Like the other reviewers, we were sucked in by the 20% off the entire meal and 2 for 1 drink specials they offered. In their defense, all of the restaurants on Ocean Ave. do this. The server was very friendly and helpful. Beware… ask how much the specials are!!! The surf and turf,(ribeye and Lobster) was $ 75. Two in the party had that, and were very pleased. Another had the filet, which he liked very much. I had the special fish, which was Speckled Trout. I enjoyed that as well. For Apps, we shared crab cakes, which were tasty, and the tuna tartare, which was also good. The atmosphere was great, and sitting on the sidewalk was a great place to people watch. Good times! There are a ton of other restaurants in South Beach to try, so I’m not sure I would return here, but I can recommend the Atlantic. The bill total came out to $ 300(tip included on bill), and only one person was drinking alcohol, so load up on the cash before you come here.

Just goes to show that I should have read Unilocal reviews, before coming here, instead of randomly wandering around. Here are the scams/shady practices that they employed on me. The entrees on the menu are all around $ 25. Some a bit more, some a bit less. So when the waiter announced the specials, and my party go two of them, we were surprised to find out they were about twice as expensive as the other menu items. They also have a mixed drink menu, which sounds good, but there are no prices. I bet you can guess where this is going… $ 19 for a Jack and Coke. Pretty awful if you ask me. The food, however, was pretty decent. I got the Yellowtail, which was served with a mustard/cream sauce that was pretty tasty. The shrimp was good, as was the skirt steak. It’s just too bad that to stay in business, they have to resort to such shady measures.

$ 38 Paella consisted of mostly chicken, four dry shriveled up mussels, and a few dry shrimp. Enough said. Sorry bout it.

Like many other places on Ocean Drive, this place was a scam! The hostess told us we would get 20% off the entire menu, 2 for 1 drinks, and a $ 15 steak special. When we went to order, the waiter said we could only do the 20% off OR the steak special. Despite telling them we wouldn’t have come if we couldn’t get all the specials, we still ate here. We ended up trying to stick it to them by all(party of four) ordering the steak special and nothing else. We canceled our other entrees, appetizers, and drinks. This was a good idea because the steak was actually made pretty well. It came with skinny fries and a small salad. The salad had a great dressing. The waiter was actually rather gracious for how upset we were. I think they know they’re working for a scamming restaurant and they’re probably used to luring customers in and them being displeased with them.

Don’t ever come here again… it is unfortunate when businesses need to dupe you and scam you into buying their services… if you’re going to sell a beer in a tub-sized cup and charge you for it($ 16 per beer), then you probably have the moral obligation to have a better product description available on the menu. «This is South Beach, what do you expect…» is not a good enough explanation. Food was not worth the money also.

This place is pretty nice, a little pricey but the food is so yummy! We got the 2 for 1 drink special. But that means you each buy a drink and you each get a second free. Not bad when the drinks are $ 20. We shared the chicken parmigiana, and it was the best I’ve ever had. Absolutely hit the spot! The staff is very helpful and friendly.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars it is so bad. I arrived in Miami hours before my friends, so I walked up and down Ocean Dr looking for a place to eat. Too bad they all look the same, and I have to say, it’s either really annoying or intimating, have the hostesses come at you, trying to sell you the«specials» as you walk by. Specials include 20% off, 2-for-1 drink, and lobster night, steak night, or something of that sort. No one actually ever mentions that you cannot combine their specials, so you choose the 20% off, or the 2-for-1 drinks. And to top it off, 2-for-1 drinks are per person, so don’t think about sharing it with a friend. I was lured in by their $ 15 steak night. The waiter came by, and told me the specials. Now why did he tell me about the filet mignon special, which is $ 38 but forget the $ 15 steak special? And why did I have to ask him how much was the filet mignon special? He definitely was hoping I would mistaken that for the $ 15 special and order it. I ordered the steak special rare. Then comes the drinks, they come in large 36 oz margarita glasses. No prices on the menu. I asked, and a very annoyed waiter told me $ 20 a drink. I may be on vacation, but that doesn’t mean it’s your job to try to take as much money as you can from me. I don’t mind paying for a good meal and good service, but this was ridiculous. My steak comes out, and let’s just say it was like I ordered carpaccio. I flag the waiter down, and tell him my meat is raw, he takes a look, and somehow decides I changed my mind. All I wanted was another steak, cooked rare. But instead, he took away my steak, and disappears. 15 minutes later, he comes back and says that he spoke to his manager, and they took the steak off my bill. But I wanted my steak! Now I’m stuck with my huge drink with no food, great. So I ordered some fries, cause clearly the steak wasn’t working, and that was the entire reason I decided to eat here in the first place. Total bill was $ 29 for a drink and fries. To add insult to injury, they add the tip in for my «convenience», and still have a line for additional tip. SERIOUSLY? I would like a place to subtract the tip you thought you should get, cause you really didn’t deserve it. And I come home to find that the waiter had added himself another $ 6 in addition to the pre-set tip, so my credit card was charged a total of $ 35. Not happy

Was in Miami for business and a local friend picked me up for my hotel and suggested we drive to South Beach. Every place was busy but this place had one table out front so he suggested we dine here. The waiter was a bit annoying. As others have commented they go out of their way not to tell you prices. My meal(just mine) which included a(giant and tasty) mojito was nearly $ 100 including tip and all I got was a Chilean seabass with one king crab leg(plus the mojito). The seabass was good, not great, the mashed potatoes completely uninspired, and the king crab leg the smallest I’ve ever seen. Overall the place just doesn’t make you feel at all happy you went there.

I guess we chose wrong when picking a dinner place on Ocean Ave. There’s soo many places and they all seem pretty similar, so we thought we’d give Atlantic a try with our group of 11. Cobb salad sucked, tasted like refrigerated salad Calamari good, sauce was excellent Soup ok Chianti wine was nice and bold Mussels were chewy and hardly had any sauce Filet mignon good, cooked perfectly Fish good Tapia good Tiramisu good Crème brûlée good I would suggest going elsewhere, but at least we got 20% off the meal!

AWFUL!!! Here is the long and short of it: –Service: PISS poor(that automatic gratuity seems to make people really lazy and rude…) –Food: Even worse than the service(Paella should NOT taste like overcooked fish and undercooked shrimp thrown into an under-seasoned pot with some rice!) –Atmosphere: Dirty(I know its south beach, but everyplace there isnt cramped and nasty. THIS one is.) I went to send back my Paella and actually got static from the waitress. When I told her I would tell the manager it wasn’t her fault, she SNAPPED at me «well, i know THAT, mami. you ordered it. i didn’t order that for you!» Um, what happened to service with a smile… the customer is always right… DON’T snap at the people you are serving??? After that, I ordered the steak special cooked medium – what I got was an almost well-done dry block of meat. I finally got the medium steak I requested, but it, too needed seasoning. I eventually just ate it, thought most places would have offered to Comp it at that point just to keep their customer happy. Obviously, having«happy customers» is NOT on their list of priorities. If you walk past here – KEEPWALKING! THEREAREPLENTYMORERESTAURANTSONSOUTHBEACH!

Everything here tastes like rubber! Maybe all the humidity from SoBe leaked into the kitchen pantry & fridge and into every single ingredient. Going on vacation and eating gross food is such a disappointment. Ambiance here was nice for people watching, as it’s along Ocean Drive. 13 of us sat outside and I was able to try the following: — Calamari Appetizer: decent, not over-battered, but rubbery calamari — Lobster Salad w/Strawberry & Lemon Vinaigrette Lunch Special: bland pieces of lettuce, rubbery & chewy lobster — Calamari Salad Lunch Special: again, chewy calamari, bland dressing — Cuban Sandwich: the bread was nice and crispy, but the pork was 80% fat. I’m not a huge bacon/fat lover, but I really love pork, and this wasn’t done too well. There was way too much mayo and ham in there, too. Tasted like a Quizno’s panini. — Huge Cup of Margarita: one sip gave me the gag reflex. Maybe it’s because I drank myself silly the night before, but this margarita had way too much mix and way too much low-shelf tequila. Service was slow, too. There are TONS of restaurants/bars along Ocean Drive — avoid this one!

I don’t know if it’s because I was a lil drink happy but I actually liked this place. Yes, there were girls handing out menus all over ocean drive to get you to eat at their restaurant and at 9.99 plus we were in the mood of the menu items, we ate here. The blue point oysters were sooo fresh and delicious. Yummy. My friend had the lobster salad with strawberries and it looked very good while I had the curry shrimp, simply okay. We did ask about the drinks and they did tell us the 2 for 1 was per person so we werent shocked. They were HUGE as hell and really good and yes I drank both them down while there. Staff very nice and helpful, great seat at people watching, good music. Had a lot of fun here.

The food was decent, but I was a bit upset when we got two drinks(2-for-1 happy hour deal), and they charged us for both. The waiter said that the drink deal is per person, not per table. I didn’t see this written anywhere, and they sure as hell didn’t tell me ahead of time when they were talking about how great the deal was. I tried to dispute it, but nothing changed. Other restaurants on Ocean Drive give you 2-for-1, not 2-for-1 per person. Food was about average, staff did their job but not with any exuberance, and drinks were on the weak side. This place would get three stars if not for the rip-off move in the end. On the plus side, they gave us our two«free» drinks in plastic cups, so we could carry them with us as we evacuated the restaurant.

I was with a friend from college and we had the most horrible experience at this place. We were tired of walking looking for a place to eat and the food other people had looked ok so we decided to try it out when the hostess offered us a table in front of fan – it was super hot as should be expected in Miami and we didn’t really feel like sitting out in the heat. It turns out the hostess sat us at 4 person table so our waitress told us to move to another table after we’d been sitting for 10 minutes without anyone even bringing water or taking a drink order, no apology, but that’s not even that big of a deal. We each ordered overpriced caesar salads and when they arrived the lettuce was warm, the chicken was dry, and the dressing was warm and out of a bottle. No one ever came to ask about the salad, a group of waiters and waitresses were standing 15 feet away chatting and paying us no mind. Then when the waitress came over 15 minutes later we explained the problem and that we had been out of water for at least 10 minutes in the most polite way possible, and when I asked the waitress if she was our waitress and she told me «we work as a team» so I asked who should be held accountable for the bad customer service. she failed to offer any explanation other than that they work as a team. As a restaurant patron you shouldn’t be expected to deal with the waitress’s negative attitude or her failure to be accountable for her own bad customer service. NEVERGOHERE!
