Came up on this place by mistake and so happy that I did. The food was better than eating in my own mother’s kitchen!

Love love LOVE Georgia’s Union. We celebrated my husband’s bday there on a Saturday night and the food was AMAZING-everything was really fresh and the menu was very original. The service was outstanding, a rarity for Miami Beach. We had a big group and the restaurant and staff(especially Javier and Alex) were so accommodating and friendly. The decorations are also beautiful. I highly recommend Georgia’s Union and its a great place for groups, something that is hard to find in South Beach. I am a big fan and look forward to going back to try their brunch!

Came in after Yoga for brunch and LOVED it! The décor is nice, the place has good energy and the food is yum! Started with a bloody mary, which they make the juice from real tomatoes(makes me feel healthier about drinking a bloody mary!), then had the cantaloupe which came over a bed of cottage cheese, drizzle of olive oil, and basil. PERFECT! Then had two eggs, over easy, with the potatoes, bacon, toast and a roasted tomato. All very tasty. I came in a second time already for brunch with my parents and they loved it!

Overall great experience. Some reviewers have compared this place to Yardbird but I found yardbird to be tasteless, and Georgia’s Union beats it in every aspect. If you’re looking for light, low-sodium cooking, then southern comfort food is NOT for you! Having been to Georgia’s Union several times, had about every item on the menu. Here are the highlights of the menu– The fried tomatoes for appetizer, Pulled pork and fried chicken for the entrée, MAC N CHEESE and the grits for sides, and you must have the chocolate chess pie or pecan pie for dessert. Great décor, great service, and a great overall value for the quantity and quality of food.

If you’re a fan of the twangy, swampy and mystical south, you’ll instantly be drawn to Georgia’s Union. Located off the slowly budding Purdy Ave, this organic Southern eatery hosts all things nouveau-country. Think: decadent chandeliers juxtaposed to the otherwise woody and rustic fixings and conscious cooking matched with whiskey-bound craft cocktails. We only popped in for a glass of wine before dinner around the corner, but something about the sound of the Eggs Went Down To Georgia had a voodoo effect. So we ordered and the deviled eggs arrived complete with shredded chicken, green onion, chopped pickle, and topped with a locally foraged edible flower. What’s more, the decadent starter arrived to our bar setting inside an extravagant glass display case. And when the server removed the top, cold smoke dashed out, leaving our 4 smoke-marinated eggs behind to devour. You guessed it, best deviled eggs I’ve ever had(and considering I’d never think to order the things, this statement goes a long way). While we didn’t have much else, I’ll certainly be back to sample more of the austral offerings.

When we first planned to have dinner here, I was excited, but once I read the reviews I was left with quite a disappointing feeling. I decided to give it a shot regardless, and I’m glad we stuck with trying it out. To begin, the restaurant’s décor is absolutely adorable. The unique flower arrangements, chandeliers, and mix and matched seating are all quite charming. Considering the fact that we were a large party, the service was excellent. Their signature drinks are also pretty delicious! Everyone ordered different items, and everything I tried was great! The corn on the cob was seasoned like no other and my honey fried chicken was amazing! The Mac and cheese was creamy and the fried okra was also seasoned well. I don’t understand the low marks on the restaurant. It’s a southern/comfort food spot, and a pretty good one at that. I am a huge fan of this particular cuisine, and it’s among the best I’ve been to(including Sylvia’s in Harlem).

Service was very nice. The ribs and devil eggs very good. I wish the frog legs were crispier, but the house hot sauce made up for it. The atmosphere fabulous with great drinks

Its predecessor, Joe Allen, had the right mix of good food, well priced and unassuming ambiance for locals. In this incarnation, the space is pretty, kitch but sorely lacking in the basics of good service. The menu is uninspired, even by soul food standards, and overpriced. As a hyper-local looking to patronize businesses in my neighborhood, I have sadly crossed this one off my list.

This is an outstanding Southern brunch with some twists, go early so you be assured to get really personal attention, though that seems no problem. The very able Chef Nate spoke to us personally and was kind enough to even fold fresh mint into delicious house made vanilla ice cream at my young daughter’s innocent request(yum!). The food was spectacular, varied and very well presented. The service was fine. Chef Nate was even kind enough to prepare a sampler plate for me since I wanted to try so many things from my childhood Southern culinary palate. The grits were spectacular and the eggs superbly scrambled. The ingredients were clearly of the finest quality((wow bacon and ham) and it turned out that I know some of the purveyors. Even the toast was exceptional. I’m looking forward to return for another meal there that’s not just brunch. I highly recommend …

First time at Georgia’s Union and if you like the Southern fried style with lots of salt, you’ll like this restaurant. I had the country fried steak with black-eyed peas and the baked Mac and cheese. Everything was just ok. My wife had the catfish with okra and collard greens. The okra was good but the collard greens and the catfish were loaded with wat too much salt. She had a little stomach discomfort later and decided that we would pass on eating there again.

Organic soul food in a charming setting. The Savannah Punch packs one. Country fried steak with hush puppies took me back to my southern roots. Peach cobbler rounded out a soulful meal with some health in mind. I sat at the bar and service was attentive.

The food was excellent and the vibe was great. The place gets a nice crowd at night They have a fantastic brunch menu on Sundays. I had the eggs Benedict with organic multigrain muffin on a bed of kale. Highly recommended!

First impressions of the new Georgia’s Union: Despite great décor which gives the impression of a relaxing southern patio, Georgia’s Union is somewhat of a «poor man’s Yardbird» on Miami Beach’s hot Purdy Avenue. It has a funky, moderately upscale Southern ambience, thoughtful décor, terrific mixed drinks, and it serves several strong appetizers, including a great roasted tomato salad and hush puppies. I was disappointed with the fried chicken, served only as a boneless breast, and several of the sides fell flat(organic vegetable salad, mac & cheese). This place has seen a few different«conceptual shifts» in recent years, none of them dramatic steps forward in cuisine.(For several years, it was New York’s Joe Allen, and, more recently, a mediocre second branch of Morgans. Georgia’s Union’s owners also own the midtown Miami Morgan’s.) Whether the same chef is at the helm of the new spot or not, the entrees need some life breathed into them. Service was solid and attentive; we didn’t stay for dessert. I’ll try to come back with an intent to revisit my initial impressions.

The foliage outside is pretty and inviting, the ambiance inside is great as is the music. The cocktails were quite delish, I had a watermelon vodka based cocktail which I loved. The food was pretty good. We ordered the catfish which came with two sides of choice. Good neighborhood restaurant.

Great ambiance. Food is good, but not great. I had the oxtail, which came with a little too much sauce. The baked mac and cheese… was different, tasted undercooked, but then again it was baked. My fiancée had the fried chicken, which was nice and juicy. If I go again, would definitely order her plate instead of the oxtail. On the plus side, the waiter was absolutely great and I love the fact all the food is organic. I would give this place a solid 3 stars.
