Excellent bulgogi and a good option for fast food that is healthy. Food truck under a roof!

My young son and I took my mom here for her birthday lunch. There are not many kid-friendly places that you can eat fresh delicious food and enjoy the outdoors with a three-year old.

I was in the building for a coffee meeting and this place was one of a few establishments within the same building in the Village. I thought that was a cool concept. I read the reviews and decided to try the Ninja Chicken as it was recommended in some of the reviews. The employee also suggested it so I thought I would try it. It was nice and hot when the order was up and the taste was pretty good. The rice seemed a little stale but the veggies and chicken were fresh. I think it would have been much better with fresh rice. I will go back and try something else next time. I really appreciated how quick it was along with friendly service.

My husband and I love this place when going for something semi quick. Definitely will recommend the Ninja Chicken, it can be spicy but it’s a mild kind of spicy. Also the egg rolls are delicious! The food is very filling, so for me I always tend to have some leftovers. The staff is very friendly and quick to get your order out.

I recently tried this establishment as I’ve been looking for a modern Asian restaurant on par with the places I ate back home in the Bay Area. The ambience was nice and the staff was courteous and fun(the only reason I gave them 2 stars). The food however did not live up to expectations first as mentioned previously the I opted for the noodles instead of white rice and for an extra up charge they were not special just bland except for the flavor of the generals chicken sauce the dripped onto them. The chicken was over breaded and over cooked and the sauce(I asked for medium heat as my stomach was not feeling awesome that day) was face melting hot. I know that every restaurant has its«off» days so I may consider trying them again and if they step up the next time I’ll amend this review. Their gyoza did look tasty.

The wife and I went to get some grub after the movie. We decided on Riceworks. I had eaten there, but she had not. My wife picked out the Teriyaki Chicken(good choice) and I picked out the ninja chicken. The teriyaki chicken is a generous bed of white rice, topped with sliced chicken breast, veggies, and some house teriyaki sauce. The array of flavors is plentiful. I’ve had that before and would for sure have it again. Then I had the ninja chicken. This was a bed of rice topped with tempura chicken, tossed around in some spicy sauce made in house. This is also served with a mixture of veggies and some ninja sauce. Then give you an additional side of sauce for your meal. I liked the ninja chicken it was pretty good. However I decided to ask for a side of teriyaki to mix with the ninja. The mixture of ninja sauce and teriyaki was excellent. There are not any words to properly describe the taste. It was like there was a party in my mouth amongst my tastebuds.

Great food and great friendly staff! My family tried this place for the first time! My son Unilocaled restaurant and food places with at least 4 star ratings in the area and found this one! We tried the Korean BBQ, sweet and sour chicken and general’s chicken and enjoyed every dish! Good price for the right portions. The food was very flavorful with just the right spice to it! :)

Food was delicious, I had the level 3 generals chicken. So good! Employees were super friendly and helpful. I was probably being complete pain in the butt, and they didn’t seem to mind one bit. I’ll definitely be back. Side note: my friend had the ninja chicken and it was also amazing!

Really surprised at how good this was! Quick and fresh Asian. Ordered the General Tso’s and was very pleased. Fresh lean cuts of chicken lightly fried. Ordered 2 stars spicy and it had some kick to it.

I have a huge history with these guys starting when they were selling out of a truck at a call center I worked at. The food is bomb. So damn flavorful. I thought maybe it was preggo hormones but once they moved to the village it had been over a year and taste just got better. I use to eat here everyday with my little punch card lol i respect the owner and admire how far hes come. No joke this has been the BEST asian food Ive found in Boise!

Korean tacos! Korean TACOS! During Treefort I cannot eat anywhere else but RiceWorks. The Korean tacos are composed of Kimchi, cucumber, and marinated chicken. These are the best Asian fusion tacos I’ve had in the valley. The kimchi is what makes these tacos a tasty treat. It’s spicy enough to tickle your tongue and lips without reducing the taste of the chicken that I think is marinated in a sweet soy sauce. The combination of the juicy chicken, cucumbers, kimchi and hot sauce spank your mouth with taste and texture. These are fun and tasty tacos that I highly recommend.

Man this place was better than expected! It shares a space with a taco joint and a coffee bar so I wasn’t sure how the quality of food was going to be. This place was great! I ordered the chicken teriyaki and yellow curry and both were outstanding! Everything was super fresh and cooked to perfection. The sauce portioning was not too much or too little and the amount they gave you for the price was great! Staff were friendly and helpful. This will definitely be one of my regular food visits when I’m at The Village. Also, another great feature about Rice Works is that it’s great food for a decent price. Most restaurants in the village are going to be $ 12 and up for one plate, not including drinks and tip. Nice to have an affordable and delicious alternative to a more expensive sit down restaurant.

If you like japanese with a smidgen of korean fast food. This is the place for you. It’s located in the village surrounded by much better options to eat. The teriyaki chicken was alright. The time it took to get it was not alright, as we waited 20 minutes for«fast food». The wontons came out at the same time as the food even though they are classified as «appetizers». Not a place I would go to again or tell anyone about. I experienced it now time to move on.

Remarkably good, even considering the price. Had a Groupon, but I’d say paying full price would still be good considering quality. All the food is prepped fresh for you, which is great. I went with my family on a Sunday. We had a sweet & sour chicken, chicken Korean tacos, and egg rolls. All-in, it was ~$ 18. The rolls were fresh and hot, Vietnamese-style with vermicelli and veggies inside. The tacos had a *lot* of flavor, and were a big win, spicy, with Korean-spiced chicken and kimchee, The S&S chicken was fresh and hot, with a little sauce drizzled on, and extra served in containers on the side. The S&S chicken had broccoli and cabbage with it, instead of the more conventional green peppers and onions and pineapple, but was still tasty. And the portion was really good-sized…would fill a guy up for sure. Good: Location, people, atmosphere, food quality. Needs work: Not much… no complaints, really. I’d definitely go again, it’s a win.

I’m very surprised by the low reviews; I have been to Rice Works twice and have had nothing but great service and delicious food. Anywho. Rice Works is new in the concept of The Village at Meridian, in that the building is shared by another restaurant, Calle 75 Tacos, on the other side. The building is walled by glass that’s easily opened up for warmer temperatures, and inside, the seating is comfortable; you can lounge at a table or a couch and people watch, or enjoy a cool fireplace. I really enjoyed this style of restaurant. Cool, casual and relaxed. The food is very tasty and varied; I tried the Bulgogi(Korean BBQ beef) when I first went there and I loved it. While I’ve not had authentic Korean BBQ in Korea, it was definitely some of the best I’ve had here in the US. Next time I tried the Korean fusion chicken tacos and I was not disappointed either. The spice and the flavor had a nice kick and perfect crunch. I love how this place has a bit of(nearly) every Asian food; Bulgogi and kimchi from Korea, bento style meals from Japan, Cha Gio from Vietnamese cooking, and Chinese chow mein and General’s Chicken. If you or a friend is hesitant about trying the Korean food, there’s plenty of other Asian food to nom on. Well done, Rice Works.

We were shopping at The Village and wanted a quick bite to eat without waiting for a table. The menu looked very promising, but the food just wasn’t good. I ordered the Teriyaki Beef with Chow Mein noodles, and my husband got the General’s Chicken. We got an order of potstickers to share. Since they make the food to order(as opposed to stting in a tray like fast food version of Oriental) we were able to choose the heat level for the General’s Chicken, which was a nice option. The wait time for the food seemed a bit long based on the number of people ahead of us, but the cashier was very friendly. The restaurant isn’t enclosed — more like a big food cart with a roof. Kind of food court style — it shares the area with a Mexican restaurant on the other side. It’s open to the Village Courtyard, with a good view of the fountains. You see/hear all the people coming and going, and we could hear a band playing nearby. Definitely a kid-friendly environment. Back to the food: The potstickers were cooked nicely, but were bland. The sauce served with them appeared to have been poured straight from a bottle. The Teriyaki Beef was little chips of beef with some broccoli that were doused in a bottled sauce. The Chow Mein($ 1 upcharge) was nothing but plain spaghetti noodles dressed in the same bottled sauce. The local fast food Chinese place has better Chow Mein noodles! The General’s Chicken was a bit chewy and also made use of some sort of bottled sauce. It was very disappointing as we were expecting something much better based on the menu and the Village location. We won’t eat there again.
