Gandolfo’s New York Delicatessen

First time diner, I happened upon this deli for lunch while in Boise. Sandwich menu offerings from roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, etc. Just what I would expect from a ‘New Yorker’ deli.
The New Yorker hot roast beef sandwich was delicious! The unique ingredients that made this sandwich ‘pop’ were feta cheese, pepperoncini, butter and oil and vinegar.
Not only was the sandwich delicious they created a lunch ‘experience’. How? When they called me to let me know my order was ready, I was not called by just a name or a number. She simply called out, «Barbara, lunch time!»
I’ll be back.

A great sandwich placee in Meridian. I love Quiznos and jimmy johns. But nothing compares to the amount of meat you get in your sandwich at gandolfo’s. The knuckle sandwich is second to none.

Lots of sandwiches to choose from, too bad they made the one I chose completely wrong. Very expensive for what you get, won’t be coming back

Had lunch here on Wednesday about 1pm. The snow had kept a lot of people off the roads, and the girl at the counter said the place would normally have been packed. Since it was my first visit and I wanted to assess East-​Coast style sandwich quality, I had the «Little Italy” — basically a mixed Italian. Half-​sized (~6») set me back about $ 6. That’s a bit much, but you can go to 12″ for like $ 2 more, which would be a good deal to split with someone.
Overall, I like it; so far it’s my favorite sub in the Treasure Valley (beating out Hugo’s, Quizno’s, Port ‘o’ Subs, and Fred Meyer).
What was good:
–Plenty of meat and filling; proportions were good.
–Quality meats: Pretty good; the cheese was good. Meat was average.
–Greenery: Lettuce/​tomatoes etc were fair, but it is January.
What needed work:
–Really, just the price… I thought $ 6 was a bit much,
I’ll be back, I’ll take the family, I recommend it. Good stuff!

Too much mayo on the wrongly marked sandwiches that took awhile to make.
The french dip came with heavy mayo and salty roast beef. I didn’t even need the dipping sauce. The urban cowboy sounds healthy with chicken breast, turkey, and avocado, but also comes with cream cheese, heavy mayo, and pepper jack cheese. The bread was fresh and fluffy but started falling apart from all the mayo.
I guess if you call for pick-​up AND emphasize light mayo, you might be ok. They also deliver with $ 25+ purchases.
