As previous reviewer, I should read reviews first. The food is ok, but both staff are not willing to serve you and none of them want to pay a little patience for a foreign customer to order while nobody is in the line. After all, the store located so close to the South ferry where all visitors around the world come here. This is my very first time to the Soupman, and will never come back again.

Did my girlfriend and I really just a delicious, creamy, and giant container of lobster bisque for $ 20? Goodbye humble California portion sizes – everything is bigger and more wonderful in New York.

Remember in Ratatouille when the bad guys come up with a scheme to use chef Gusteau’s posthumous reputation to sell a series of terrifying frozen dinners? Well, that scenario has sort of played out in real life, except with Chef ‘Al the Soup Nazi’playing the role of Gusteau and his chain of underwhelming soup depots taking the place of the frozen dinners. We’re all familiar with the story — Chef Al became famous from a Seinfeld episode in which his caricature yells at Jerry, «No Soup For You!» While the«No Soup For You» shtick may have represented a punishment at the time, in 2015, coming from Al, that same phrase should be considered a favor. And though the soup at Soup Man may have been something to write or make fictional TV episodes about back in the 80s or 90s(or whenever the episode aired), today, it’s only worth writing about when it has less than three stars attached to it and it’s being reviewed by someone like myself. This tired, gloppy, runs-inducing soup serves better as a makeshift laxative than it does a gratifying meal. For the record, I had the crab soup; I think I’d rather have crabs. Instead try Toasty’s, right next door.

No lobster bisque! Such a bummer! This happens about half the time I go there. 4:00 in the afternoon seems early to run out.

It’s certainly convenient and the NE clam chowder is pretty good with plenty of potatoes and clam pieces although it’s no Durgin’s Park. It is cheap, fast, and decent-tasting so no complaints there. I haven’t tried the sandwiches or salads, but from appearances alone, I would recommend going for the chowders and bisques here. I haven’t dined in but my takeout orders are usually accurate and the soup is hot even after a 10 minute walk back. Bowls are around $ 6 and cups are around $ 4 – 5.

I probably should have read the Unilocal reviews(as I usually do) before purchasing a Groupon Now for this place. Like others have said, it’s not really a store. Its basically a little cart inside a Ranch 1. Extremely ghetto. They had about 8 pots, 4 empty and the other 4 with very basic choices(chicken noodle, bisques, etc). Don’t waste your time.

below par food HORRIBLE service. Delivery person went to the wrong place. I had to call in and get it redelivered. He even refused to pick up the phone when it appeared to be some extra legwork. Contact person at the restaurant is unfriendly as well.

If your restaurant is located inside of a Ranch One that is not all that clean, I don’t think that you can expect people to follow any kind of rules when you can’t follow them yourself. I DONOT recommend the $ 8 Lobster soup which is very bland especially when there are so many other restaurants or even grocery stores offering it that are SOMUCHBETTER. Maybe this soup used to be good, but not now. By the way, I only got a small piece of bread with the soup, no chocolate or fruit. DON’T WASTEYOURTIME!

Lobster Bisque. That’s really all I have to say. The seafood Bisque was okay, but nothing compares to the lobster. Also, that bread that comes with it is delicious especially when you’re looking for a bit of comfort food during a hang over… and yes, I’m that idiot who for some reason goes for fishy stuff when hung over. Always seems like a good idea at the time. Anyway, Lobster Bisque. Lived up to the hype.

Ranch 1 makes the claim that they have the best grilled chicken in the world. There may be some merit to that boast. And The Original Soup Man – it’s the Soup Nazi(from Seinfeld). His soups are just as incredible as the show makes them out to be. I can’t speak for personality, as I order in, but this is by far my favorite place for soup. I also order my food during the week at lunch time, so there is quite a selection then. Together, you have an unbeatable combination! 4.5÷5.0 stars because the prices of Ranch 1 are $ 0.50 higher on everything compared to the other Ranch 1 locations.

Extremely dissatisfied! If you want to try Soupman I would recommend a different location. There are two counters: soup and chicken. I was really excited to try the famous Soupman soup and went to the soup counter. I checked out the menu and figured out what I wanted. A woman came over to help us and I told her my order. She told me it is Saturday and they only have vegetable soup. Disappointed, I agreed to try the soup with a sandwich. She told me there are no sandwiches on the weekend(you are kidding me right? you can’t throw a sandwich together on the weekend). I decided not to order and left. I decided to give it a second shot another time. Same experience. Do not go here! There is a 95% chance you will have to settle for something you don’t want.

I craved soup so I Unilocal it and this place popped up. I walked in, there was only 3 soups, cheese broccoli, lentil, and veggie. All without meat. I have to say I am very disappointed when I wanted a crab or lobster bisque. I got the lentil soup since I’m there already, tasted ok, but left with disappointment.

Santa Claus isn’t real, but at least the Soup Nazi is. When I found out that his soups were available some what close to my office, I dragged the co-workers out for some soup for lunch. This location is a bit unusual. It’s a soup station within the Ranch 1 place. When I got there, people were in line for the Ranch 1 food and the soup station seemed a bit neglected. I got the famous lobster bisque and it was delicious! There were REAL chunks of lobster! And plenty of it! It also wasn’t overly salty like most other places. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to meet the Soup Nazi, but good soup is just as fulfilling.
