Just had my first cup of the Guatemala Antigua coffee. It is packed with flavor, lots of fruity and complex nuances. Definitely not your run of the mill coffee… a nice treat, thanks for the tasty pick me up Rocchio roasters

The is coffee. Real coffee. Rocchio gets coffee from all over the world — each one has a unique flavor from sweet and fruity to spicy and peppery. There’s no attitude either. They are passionate about coffee and share knowledge. In short, this is the best coffee I’ve ever had.

So I called Marco from reading reviews on Unilocal.Right off bat he was super friendly. He spent over 20 minutes explaining the different roasts and varieties that he sells. It was not possible for me to drive to Los Feliz to pick up the coffee so he shipped two bags to my home address. It was some of the best espresso I’ve ever tasted.

This is a review for the order that I placed on I ordered 4 lbs of green beans from Marco. There were no prices or product detail on the green beans so I decided to e-mail him, and he responded very quickly with all the details that I needed. I placed the order on Sunday night, and he delivered it on Tuesday. I roasted a small batch, and it’s one of the best cups that I’ve had – I just have to get my timing better to have the right roast. Excellent quality and great customer service. I’d highly recommend getting green beans from Marco!

Over rated coffee! Nothing special! Good coffee but not all that. Always nice to try something different but this did not impress. I think I will keep searching for that special coffee place.

I love to start off my Sundays with a cup of coffee from Marco at the los feliz farmers market. Marco is truly passionate about his work which is why I can say I haven’t tasted a cup like it anywhere else. It’s too good :)

Before having met Mark at the Los Feliz farmers market, I was only accustomed to drinking Starbucks coffee and yuban at home. After being educated thoroughly in the subject of roasting coffee, I have never been so hooked on a coffee as good as Mark’s. His coffee has more unique character and flavorful notes that not only smell amazing but also taste amazing! I am now a regular for his stand and have been buying beans by the ¾ lb! Thanks so much Rocchio Family Roasters!

Each coffee variety has it’s own distinctive flavor due the careful roasting process. They aren’t over-processed and bitter. This is what a cup of coffee should taste like. Unlike the other reviewers I don’t live near a farmer’s market that sells Rocchio Family Coffee, so I do mail order and shipments always arrive quickly and fresh as if just roasted. Might cost a little more, but definitely worth it.

I went to the Los Feliz market one Sunday and had the pleasure of meeting Marco and drinking a cup of East Africani. At the time I didn’t drink coffee, but Marco’s story was engaging and the aroma, incredible. The coffee smelled like blueberries. I sipped it without any sugar and was surprised that there wasn’t the slightest hint of bitterness. From that moment I became a fan of Rocchio Family’s coffee and have returned every Sunday to sample a new roast. What’s exceptional about the coffee is that each one has it’s own individual character, Bali Blue Krishna is spicy and really kicked up a notch as an espresso; Robusta Gusto is a mood and mind altering experience; and Antigua is smooth and steady with notes of citrus and chocolate, but my favorite is my first love, East Africani. After drinking Marco’s roasts, I figured I’d try other coffees because now I’m a coffee drinker. Nope, not true. I’m truly a Rocchio Family Coffee Roaster drinker, because I haven’t found anything else that compares.

Yesterday I went to the Los Feliz farmer’s market and naturally had to check out the stand selling coffee beans. I enjoyed hearing the spiel about their roasting process and how every other coffee I’ve ever bought was roasted using gasoline. I would imagine that at least some other local roasters are using charcoal or other non-gasoline processes, but the people at Rocchio are passionate about coffee and down to earth. It’s not that arrogant hipster we-know-coffee-better-than-you-do-taste-isn’t-subjective bullshit. They don’t give out samples, which seemed a bit odd, but they have bags of grounds of each type of coffee they sell for smelling, which is very effective for giving you a sense of what each coffee is like. I bought two half-pound bags and both roasts are damn good. I’ll certainly be back for more!

Rocchio’s coffee is a sublime sensory experience. Coffee turns out perfectly when it’s roasted with care. What is meant by care is careful attention to the coffee that is being worked with. I savored the quality and the care that goes into every type of a bean, carefully selected and roasted by by Rocchio’s roasters. Not all beans are alike and you can see, feel, and taste that when it’s handled and delivered to you in the right way. I can’t wait to try ALL of Rocchio’s coffees. I mean ALL of them. Yes, I have my favorites(already!). I used to complain so much about coffee that I would get at your YOUKNOW the well known corner coffee shops about them hurting my stomach, being too bitter where one would have to add a ton of cream and sugar just to be able to drink the coffee, about it not being brewed right, and giving me strange jitters. Well, it turns out that the actual process of roasting and brewing the coffee has a lot to do with that. I have not experienced any of these annoyances with Rocchio’s coffee. Just WONDERFUL lively coffee.

WOW, This coffee is truly exceptional. If you need to get your heart pumping have a cup of the Robusta Gusto. Taste is excellent and the caffeine will punch you in the heart and soul. If you know and appreciate good coffee, once you taste it, there’s no going back to anything else. The coffee is incredibly smooth and the flavors of the different available beans are amazing and unique. Try a cup at one of the Farmers Markets(listed here ) or, if you’re like me, become a regular and buy your supply directly from their website( )
