Phở Duc was the BEST Phở place north of Seattle. I’m really sad they are closed. I used to go almost every Sunday after a night of overindulgent drinking the night before. It hit the spot every time and was hearty and delicious even early in the morning. Best of all was their amazing homemade chili oil. I miss this place a lot.

I have not been on Unilocal for years. But I need to know where the brothers went. Have they opened another place? PLEASE message me! I need my phở fix. BEST phở in Seattle.

7 Years, and still great Phở. I have been to Vietnam and this food is the real deal. The tea here is great too. The best thing about the restaurant is the staff. The guy who runs this joint still remembers me and my husband and we moved out of the area. We come in and he even remembers what we like best with our dish, and brings it out even if we forget to ask for it. The service here makes you feel like you are family. I love me some Phở Duc!

Had my worst service ever. Never went back again. One night I took my parents to have some late night snack. I did not expert they were open, but at the time they did. We asked if they were closing, they sat us down. So we were starting to check out the menu. They were so impatient. They came over to ask if we were ready three times in 6 minutes. I knew they were intentional on the third time they asked. I was really upset and told them if they were getting ready to close, they should’ve told us so we could’ve gone some where else instead of getting this kind of treatment. They got upset as well. So I decided to walk out the door and never looked back.

Cam and I went here the other night to satisfy our Phở(and we were hoping Bahn Mi) cravings. We found out that they didn’t do the delicious Vietnamese sandwiches, but Cam ordered the skewered pork and it was also delicious. I had the basic beef phở. We took our order to go, and it was still really good when we got home. The broth was super good, and even Cam liked it. I put fewer noodles in it this time, and I’m not a big spicy fan so it was nice that there was enough flavor without the hot sauces. I think we’ll be coming back here.

With the mixed reviews I had seen, we had to try it out. As I had expected, it was all good, nothing over the top, except for the avocado drink, loved it. I will definitely return to try the seafood soup. We had our usual Phở, and split broken rice topped with pork chop, egg pie, shredded skin, and veggies. I recommend the broken rice dish, it had been a while since I had the egg pie mmmm. mmmm good. We will surely be back, clean, good service, good prices, & nice menu with some different items than the usual Phở shops.

I don’t eat phở regularly. The last phở I had was about 11 years ago in Seattle with a friend who is Vietnamese. I ordered the avocado bubble tea shake, which was delicious but I couldn’t really decide whether it tasted like avocado or not because I used so much Sriracha in my Chicken Phở. I got the large phở and realized that a regular size phở would have been more than sufficient. I couldn’t even finish my large sized phở, which is unusual. It’s over an hour since i left Phở Duc and the spices I added are still warming my insides. There was minimal MSG in the chicken phở, according to the waitress, and it was also gluten-free. I have not experienced any adverse side effects, which is a good meal for me.

So about 7 months ago I started working in the ID in Seattle, experiencing great phở for the first time. After that my local place in Lynnwood was found extremely lacking. I embarked on a great journey, trying maybe 10 other joints. Phở Duc was the clear winner. The meat is generally decent, the broth is always tasty(this is where a lot of other places failed hardcore), and the service is pleasant. Phở Duc is best phở place that I can get to from Martha Lake without much effort.

Tried this place last week. Didn’t care for the beef phở. I ordered their simple soup — rare beef. I’m a plain kind of girl because I’m more of a broth person and the rare beef is more tender and doesn’t get my broth all fatty! The broth had more of an American style beef broth to it. See… when I go to a Vietnamese restaurant, I want a phở style beef broth. My boyfriend said his broth had a soapy taste to it(he even switched out his spoon, only to find it was actually the broth.) The fresh spring rolls were good — not too small and skimpy. They use peanut dipping sauce here instead of hoison dipping sauce. Try it if you must, but I’d rather eat at Phở Alderwood. Also, the restaurant is very very clean and the service was excellent! 5 stars for that!

From the outside this place doesn’t look like much but as soon as you walk in, the restaurant is deceptively large and clean. I expected it to be a dingy hole in the wall but was definitely a step up. We had spring rolls and phở tai and both just weren’t up to par with some of the other places that I’ve been. The service was very polite and I have no complaints there. It was merely the quality of the food that left me disappointed. The beef was much thicker than in most places which one would normally expect to be a good thing but I thought it was a little too thick. There were a ton of rice noodles in mine, and to be honest, I liked my husband’s requested egg noodles better, but it was the broth that was lacking. I couldn’t help comparing the broth to dish water. While I’m overexaggerating and it really wasn’t that bad, every time I tasted it, I wished I hadn’t. The bean sprouts and mint, however, were extremely fresh. I’ve definitely had better phở in the area and while this place is convenient to where I live, I would not go out of my way to come back.

Delicious! Tried Phở Duc last night. Their veggie phở with tofu is awesome. The tofu is fried, but is nice and tender on the inside. There is plenty of broccoli, carrot, and cabbage. I love this combination, and was happy there was no celery. The broth itself had good flavor, but didn’t have the same depth I’ve had at other places. We also tried the fresh spring rolls, which were a great price, $ 3.70 for 2. They gave my husband and I each our own peanut sauce, which was served warm, and not too sweet. Lastly, I was very impressed by their bubble tea. We had the taro, one of my favorite flavors. I quit getting bubble tea for a while because it seemed like every time i got it, it was sickening sweet. Phở Duc’s bubble tea was delicious and not too sweet at all. Our service was friendly and also quick. Everything seemed to be very quality, and I also thought the prices were very good. I look forward to coming back!

Great Vermicelli The food = consistently good * The phở has always been good(it’s pretty hard to mess up phở), but the vermicelli is awesome. * I think it’s #46 that has the ground shrimp on the sugar cane, BBQ pork, fried egg rolls, and all the other goodies(highly recommended). * I’ve been at Phở Duc dozens of times, both dining in and take-out, and it’s always consistently good. The setting = needs a makeover * Probably one of the ugliest phở restaurants I’ve been to, but it’s always clean and has a new large flat-screen tv. Their avocado bubble tea is always tasty.

Great phở place. Eaten here a bunch of times and it is right there with my favorite in the area – Phở 36 is the top of the heap, but Phở ta Chau and Phở Duc are right behind it IMO. They don’t offer banh mi, but the soup is fantastic. Spicy, flavorful broth, great noodles, great meat. Great condiments. House-made sauces and pastes(plus a couple store bought). Pleasant, efficient staff. Plus, a nice big tv in the corner that’s usually showing the game. It’s clean, got plenty of windows, and the prices are fair. I am always happy to get a bowl here.

I prefer going here over other places in the area because I really like the roasted garlic that they put in the phở. Other places probably do this but I’ve only been to a few others but at every other place, their chicken isn’t as good, or the broth doesn’t taste as tasty, or the chili oil isn’t good enough(or non-existent!). Here the chicken is chunky and comprised of both dark and light meat, broth is tasty, chili oil is good and they are friendly when they serve you. My boyfriend and his co-worker both like the rice dishes, but I have yet to crave something else when I go here. The only thing that makes me sad is when they close early on Mondays! I know everybody has to take a break and I accept it, I just get sad. Clearly I only crave phở Monday afternoons! The bubble tea they serve is pretty good, too. I used to make bubble tea at a bubble tea shop, and always preferred the non-smoothie type, but theirs is actually good! And the tapioca isn’t overly sweet, either! Sometimes I stop in when I have to go to the Post Office but need to be somewhere pretty quickly.

I love my Phở with all the bits and pieces. Phở Duc’s menu had the full complement of ingredients and then some. The Phở was okay, but not the best I’ve had. The tendon pieces are too small. Broth was great, though — a nice spice-rich flavor. Had some of the fresh rolls as as appetizer too. 1 star, if that. Unfortunately, I’ve had some spectacular fresh rolls elsewhere, and Phở Duc has the misfortune of comparison.

I have a new favorite Phở restaurant as of today. I was curious after reading some good reviews, and couldn’t have been more pleased. The most impressive out of everything was the ambiance and service. The place is very nice and clean, spacious and quiet, and service is just right(very polite and friendly, but still just left you alone while you ate to enjoy your food). On top of everything else, the food was fantastic! Some of the best Phở I’ve had, and even the tea was really good. I will certainly be coming back here, and recommending it to friends.

So I dont give 5’s unless its just ridiculous and this outfit is pretty close. I usually just get an order of rare beef with a side of egg rolls, extra limes and I am always in need of more water at every phở joint and this one was no different.(My hangover cure!) From the time i ordered to the time i pulled my phone out to «pass the time» i was served. Easily the quickest to get you your food out of the 15 + places i’v been. The taste is top notch and its not too expensive. Easily one of my favirotes and they dont snicker when you ask for more limes! Broth — 3.5÷5 Egg Rolls — 4⁄5 Meat Quality — 3.5÷5 Service — 5⁄5 Water Refills — 4.5÷5 Stingy with their Limes? — No

My orders: a regular #1(which is practically what I order in all phở places… no matter what it is. and I thank the heavens that nobody has yet tried to trip me up and put their phở with everything as the last option) or the #26(the com dia with everything — rice plate with veggies, skewered shrimp, skewered bbq, and skewered meatball). Sometimes, fried egg rolls. What I liked: Food was very tasty. Was surprised to see seafood options for their phở since I don’t usually see this(although I’m not really that willing to try) and chow mein(but why would I come here for chow mein anyway?). Was surprised not to see banh mi(they seem to have all of the ingredients; they just need the bread, really.) My few complaints: you can’t turn left into the lot from 196th anymore(not that they had anything to do with that, really), 60 minute parking all around so I can’t necessarily take my time with a larger group(but I guess I understand, since there’s not that much parking for all of the businesses), and floors not always that clean(I get kinda o___o when there are food bits on the floor, but maybe it was just the one table we sat at).

Updated: 11⁄07 We were chatting with the guys tonight, Ken &TC, and realized we have been coming to this place for a VERY long time. Thankfully time and this wonderful place are still ticking! These guys rock, oh and that highly addictive Garlic/chili oil their Mom makes could be a factor as well! End update… Are you new to Phở?(Pronounced«fuh!») Hard to believe but if you are just ask TC or Ken what to try. These guys know their stuff and speak English very well, that’s not easy to find in these Ma and Pa type places. Although there are plenty of Phở restaurants in and around the greater Seattle area, kinda like a famous coffee shop, here finding a really great one is hard to come by. Phở, Vietnamese rice noodle soup is served up 24⁄7 in the home-land, if I could I might eat it for breakfast too! Phở Duc, serves up both a beef based and chicken base soup broth, both are hearty and tasty. They also have fried rice, chowmein, and the usual grilled pork and beef items as well. Really you can’t go wrong with anything off of their menu. I like my Phở soup, «extra» hot, temperature-wise and they are always more than willing to do that for me. TC and Ken are great guys. Phở is often served with green onions, white onions, coriander leaves, ngo gai(«saw leaf herb»), mint, basil, lemon or lime, bean sprouts, and chili peppers, here at Phở Duc the sprouts are always fresh looking and the basil is plentiful, even in the off season. Fresh Spring rolls are good, but we like the fried, egg rolls, better! These are not the same as what you’d find at a Chinese restaurant, these are smaller and the veggies are cooked through, served up with a nice rice vinegar sauce, but better yet try Mom’s homemade chili/garlic oil, not really too hot to kill the taste buds it is very flavorful, dig down deep into the jar and get the«good» stuff. Sadly they don’t serve Banh mi, the Vietnamese sandwich, but heck you can’t have it all! Oh, and try the Vietnamese coffee or bubble tea, my Mom made me try her Avocado bubble tea sounds bad, but it’s actually quite good. Why 5 stars? Mainly because of the consistently sound service and the Phở is hearty and bold, the homemade chili/garlic sauce/oil is another big hit!
