Best Pizza ever. I had the Ricky, fantastic. You have to get the homemade Ranch dressing too. Absolutely amazing.

If you want a casual place to go with some friends, grab a few beers, and enjoy a good variety of thin-crust pizza, then head over to Rivermont. They’ve got a great selection of drafts, and their pizza offerings will satisfy most individual’s flavor profiles. Prices aren’t too bad, either. Just make sure you get here before the rush, because wait times can be extremely long. Oh, and brace yourselves for the hipsters. Not much you can do about that.

Wonderfully funky. Food is good, beer selection is good(sometimes warm or flat). Atmosphere is exceptional. Waitresses are perky but the hostesses are(consistently) sulky. No air conditioning tonight so between the beer and the hostess it gets 3 stars.

Excellent pizza! All the ingredients were too notch. I had the Ricky… comes with meatball slices– the beef was very tender and smooth… would love to try the meatball sub next time I could through this town.

After a highly-disappointing experience at a different pizza location in town, my husband and I took a recommendation and gave Rivermont a try. We were told that there was an extensive craft beer list and great wood-fired pizza. We weren’t disappointed. We were warmly greeted and offered a space at the bar while waiting for a booth. The building is a visual display of how an older building can be repurposed for greater things. Wood beams, brick walls and steps into what was perhaps a basement. While at the bar we could see the pizza oven and a well-orchestrated, pizza-making routine. I love wood-fired pizza and their selections will not disappoint. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The eclectic staff and patrons reflect that this is a place to come with friends, relax, have drinks and enjoy your time together while having great beer and amazing pizza.

«You might see a hipster or two.» That’s what I was told by the guy who recommended Rivermont. Not only were there hipsters, but also a stuffy professor type, bikers, and bald middle aged guys like me. I get the whole beard thing, but the man-bun has me baffled. The beer selection is solid. If you aren’t into craft beer, don’t have the money for it, or just hate yourself, you can get the City Wide. It’s PBR or Natty Bo with a shot of rail whiskey or tequila. The pizza is really good and cooked in a brick oven. They make their own mozzarella and bake each pizza perfectly. I love the atmosphere. It’s the kind of dark, eclectic, basement-like place you’d expect to find in a college town. Rivermont was actually my second choice. I called Waterstone and asked if they took reservations. They don’t, but said to come on over. By that they meant come on over and be told there’s a one-hour wait. Seriously, you couldn’t have told me that one the phone? Forget that place.

When we first arrived we were a little unsure where to go or to sit as no one was at the door to greet us or tell us what to do. Once we finally got seated we had an awesome server who was very polite and checked on us regularly. The pizza was amazing and you can tell it was all fresh ingredients. This is a great little hidden spot and a must try.

We are never disappointed. Our service today was very good and the pizza couldn’t have been better. We had the nachos as our appetizer which were good, but it’s the crust and cheese on their pizza that keep us coming back. This is a great place for the neighborhood. One thing we are missing are the pretzels that we used to get as our app. I hope they bring that back. A good meal for the price. Keep it up!

Wide and fantastic selection of brick oven style pizza. Each one of their options are unique and have fresh ingredients. They also have a very wide selection of craft beer which goes down smoothly with the pizza. They also have a wide variety of selective appetizers as well as late-night menu options when you are going out drinking.

Good pizza, although I wish they were bigger, but very good. Great beer selection and the bartender we had was very cool and was excellent. Definitely will be back

I went to dinner here for the first time a couple weeks ago and I must say I loved this place. I loved the basement atmosphere, the pizza, the service and the prices were reasonable. The bruschetta was yummy too.

Oddly enough, I’ve only had appetizers and beer here — not pizza. That being said, this place is awesome. Probably the closest thing you will get to a cool dive bar in town. Trivia nights on Mondays and also a good place to catch the game.

The place seems like a college hangout, as most of the customers were students. Set in a basement, they have table games for you to play while waiting for the food. The pizza is good, the dough was very good. Good variety of pizzas on the menu, and they allow substitutions and additions of ingredients. The quality of the ingredients is just above average. The service was casual and attentive. The beer menu is excellent. I would have given it four stars, except for the fact that the kitchen failed twice with a pizza. The first time it was missing an ingredient, and the second time it was cold. The made out for it not by removing the pizza from the tab. The worst part, though, was finding a moribund fly on the second layer of the nachos. We did not mention it to the waitress because we were in a hurry and we had had enough of a delay with the pizza mix up, but I´m sure they would have taken care of the problem in a satisfactory way. We will be back to give it another chance, and I´m sure it will be fine.

Some friends and I came here to enjoy a few drinks and hang out. My wife and I arrived early to get a table for the 5 of us and enjoy some alone time between the two of us. When we arrived we got our drinks at the bar and moved to a table in the back corner since the bar was full. After sitting for about 30 minutes a waiter asked us to leave because they needed the table for dinner guests. This was odd to me since there was another 2 seat table behind us that was empty. We moved because we didn’t want to cause issues. After sitting at the«side bar» for 30 minutes, our friends showed up and we tried to get a table since there weren’t enough seats for us at the bar. Almost immediately we were asked to leave the table because they«needed the table for dinner guests.» Once again, there were two other empty booths around us. There was no wait for dinner as far as we could see. The 5 of us moved back to the«side bar» where we immediately became an inconvenience to the waiters and customers trying to get around the bar since there weren’t enough seats for all of us. Not once did anyone ask us if we wanted food or planned on order anything. We were only able to get a table after we told the«host»(if that’s what you want to call him) that we did want to order food. The last time we came here, they had the most amazing soft pretzels. Since then, they no longer have those same pretzels. This is probably my biggest complaint since that was 70% of my reason to go there. The other appetizers we ordered we sub par. The cheese on the nachos was chunky and burnt. If you want a greasy, smelly, hole in the wall family restaurant, where dad can suck back a PBR or Miller Lite, then this is the place for you. If you want a cool hang out spot where you can enjoy craft beer with your friends, this is no longer the place for you. If you are only there for drinks, you are only valuable to maybe the bartender. None of the waiters care about your business if you only want drinks.

Great pizza… good selection of craft beer… but terrible smell coming into the place which gets stronger as you get closer to the bar The spilled beer that does not get cleaned up is overwhelming

Fantastic! We stopped in for dinner while on vacation in the area. It’s around the corner and looks like a dive and I loved it! Reminded me of home(Baltimore City). It’s family friendly. My youngest ordered the kids cheese pizza. It was the biggest kids pizza I’ve seen. My husband and oldest son split the Quatro carne pizza and gave it rave reviews. I had the tofu hoagie, it had great Thai flavor. A little heavy on the raw jalapeños though.

Great find in Lynchburg. I LOVE the roasted vegetables and the sauce that comes with them. Every pizza I have tried so far has been fantastic. They put a great new twist on pizza experimenting with fresh ingredients and fun flavors.

Updating my review of this place because it deserves five stars. The spinach dip is still fantastic, as is the pizza and drink selection. What has gotten better is the service. Nate, the owner, is a genuine, sweet human being who clearly takes pride in this place and because of this RP has flourished. What has lacked in the past is the service, as anyone can tell from reading other reviews. However, some changes to the wait staff have made the overall experience much more pleasant. The servers are much more friendly and attentive. Caitlin was fantastic. She’s a beautiful red head, colored with awesome tattoos, who is engaging and fun. I went another night and this really sweet chick from Arkansas was great. I don’t live in Lynchburg anymore, but whenever I visit this place will always be at the top of my list.

Great place. Had a beer and a pistachio pesto something pizza. I more or less inhaled the pizza, I thought it was well made and tasty. I wished their menu had more non red sauce options. Their beer selection is very very good. I had lunch there the other day and had the nachos. They had shredded beef– the beef was good but overall the dish needed more cheese.
