Great casual burger place. Burgers are great and so are the fries! Always friendly service!

We didn’t mean to stop in today but after we realized Cluckers had shut down, my boys were happy to grab a burger. This was our first time at this location. As the name suggests, the theme of this restaurant is baseball and burgers. When you walk in, the staff yells«Batter Up!» and someone comes to the register to take your order. The young lady welcoming us was very friendly and especially patient since I went to the register planning to order one thing, but got another. We grabbed(2) single cheeseburger combos.(They also serve double burgers) You can pick from a variety of cheeses and almost 30 toppings. Most toppings are included with the price of a burger, unless you’re talking bacon or an egg. Home Run also has specialty burgers they’ve created for those that like to get wild & crazy. The fries are nice and thick. Choose from regular or Cajun. I also love to sprinkle garlic salt on mine. Kids meals are available. I recommend the hamburger meal but note the chicken tender meal, which is $ 6!, only has two tenders. It’ll leave your kid hungry. Depending on your burger, an adult with spend $ 8 – 10 per combo meal.

Food was fantastic, well prepared and just the way you like it. I only have one issue that’s not really a big thing, not enough fries and not enough drink selections but otherwise good establishment and I enjoyed it.

In Louisville for a short stay to see the Kentucky Derby Museum and found Home Run burger through Unilocal.Thank You!!! We wanted burgers n fries and found the best. The Home Run Classic w/cheese and a touch jalapeño ketchup hit the spot. Finished it up with a urge portion of cheese fries. Best cheese fries ever. You won’t be disappointed. Enjoy!

Not being familiar with Louisville, I turned to Groupon to find a lunch deal. All in our party were happy with our experience at Home Run Burgers. I liked that the woman behind the counter was looking out for me. When ordering my very hungry son’s food, she told me «we only have one size patty.» He would receive roughly the same amount of food ordering the kids meal, and I would save a little money. He really only lost out on a few fries & received a smaller drink. He was full and happy. The food itself was made to order. I love that one may customize their burger with 26 free toppings. If that wasn’t enough, there are also several premium toppings that may be added for a fee. I guess it wasn’t enough for me. I got a double cheese burger with a fried egg(premium,) onion straws(premium,) lettuce(free,) tomatoes(free,) and raw onions(free.) Not having eaten breakfast, and having sat in the car for the previous two hours, I was hungry, and what I ordered filled me up. I even ordered onion rings. The one I had was crunch and hot. I was so full from the burger that the onion rings had to be finished by the rest of my family. Everything was fresh. The buns had a bit of sweetness to them. I agree with some other. Reviewers that the fries need a second frying. My kids didn’t seem to mind, but my hubby and I were less than enthusiastic. Another cool thing was the 100%, A Health Department rating on the door.

I have two main issues with the burgers here. First, they package their burgers in foil rather than paper. This may seem like a small thing but here’s the issue: Foil doesn’t breath. This means that if you’re taking the burger anywhere other than to a table you can expect to have a slightly soggy bun as there is nowhere for moisture to go. Second, the fryer can stand to be turned up a bit. Overall, the fries served here aren’t even close to crisp and to me that’s a big tip off that the oil is not at the right temperature. I’ve tried this place a couple of times and this is a consistent problem. No, it’s not a matter of personal preference, fries need to be cooked hot enough so that they crisp up so they don’t soak up too much oil(this even makes them healthier!). Hell, even McDonalds par-fries their french fries to make sure they don’t end up mush. Home run burgers, take notes. On the good side, the burgers are much better than average, tasting like something that came off a backyard grill rather than a freezer bag. The ingredients are pretty fresh and I have to say that most of the time the folks working the grill and counter seemed to be pretty friendly. That’s a big turn on for a burger joint as nobody likes to be depressed. In truth, despite it’s faults, its probably one of the better options in the area for burgers so I can’t get down on them too much.

Got the Heater burger and Cajun fries. Great meal, and it was under $ 10. Food is made to order and it has a very laid back atmosphere. I will be back for sure.

I’ve ate here several times and it’s never been a let down! The burgers are juicy and yummy! The fries are good and have flavor. Be ready to spend some money there but if you want quality you’ll have to pay for it! Very good service staff and you don’t have to wait long for your food until it’s lunchtime and you can expect a wait. Overall a good burger place

Groupon in hand and kids in tow, we stopped in at this Home Run near UofL’s campus one evening on the way home. I’d give it 5 stars based on the price paid but that’s more to the point of the Groupon. The service was very good, and friendly, even right before closing which can always be a little hairy when dining in at a relatively fast food joint. I had the cod fish sandwich(why do I do that?) and the boys had a couple single cheeseburgers. The food arrived quickly, was hot and was devoured post-haste, but pretty standard fare as burgers and fish sandwiches go. No complaints and we may return if/when we’re in the area again.

Wow, what can I say! The staff at this establishment really knocked it outta the park! Service with a smile indeed. But more importantly the restaurant really lives up to its name. Home run is decked ceiling. to. floor. with ALL of my favorite hitters and runners(and I bet yours too! ;-)) if there’s any better place in Louisville to enjoy bats, balls and burgers, I haven’t found it. Im only a little disappointed there was no river bats pride, but you cant get everything you wish for!

Better than your run-of-the-mill fast-food burger is about all I can say about this small chainery located on Cardinal Boulevard. Decent burger made with fresh ingredients.

The décor is a bit tacky if you aren’t a baseball fan but I’m not as worried about the atmosphere as I am about the food. This location is within walking distance of UofL in the Cardinal Towne area. They do take Cardinal Cash like other merchants in that area, but keep in mind that isn’t the same as the meal plan. I’ve been several times and have had the lil league burger as well as the veggie burger. Both have been equally tasty as were their cajun fries. They claim to use meat free of antibiotics, fillers, etc. which is good. However, after some googling the farm they receive meat from is in Kansas, so I’m not sure how accurate that info is. That being said, I feel satisfied for a long time after eating there unlike other fast food restaurants and so I’m happy! The service is always good and wait time is reasonable when you dine during lunch time. If you’re in the area and like Five Guys and the like, give them a try!
