I usually get the same thing and carry out, but today I decided to play«eat lunch like a real person» even though I’m alone. Perhaps another place would have been better. I picked a quiet spot in a nice corner seconds before a group of contractors/business dudes sat next to me and decided to have a «let’s yell our entire meeting while we eat our delicious food like pigs». Hot and Sour soup is okay. A bit bland, but I’m pleased that it has vegetables and tofu only. I wish they could serve in something other than styrofoam, but I asked and they said that’s all they have. For $ 1.99 I guess they can afford the expense, but I despise the idea of all that going to the environment. They say that’s the only option for carry out as well. How much more expensive could the paper containers be? I’ll stick to carry out and my regular order, which by the way, is Hibachi chicken. It’s SOGOODALLTHETIME!

Today I hanged out with my friend for dinner. I like the food here so much especially the fried rice and sushi. It is so delicious. I highly recommend you to have a try! Have a nice day!

I heard the food what’s really good so I decided to stop in… the African American cook/worker was very rude and disrespectful, that alone made me not want to order. Customer service is everything to me and it’s something that this place lacks in my opinion.

Big fan of this place. While it may not be the fanciest of places, it not only the best value but also the healthiest option for Asian food around campus. Also, service is fast and efficient(even faster if you want it to go and call ahead of time). My go-to-meal-of-choice is the chicken hibachi(6.85 $), but really any of the hibachi are good. Disclaimer: I have never tried the sushi so I can’t attest to that, but the boba is legit.

When I mentioned this place(after finding it on Unilocal) to my friend, he jumped up with excitment and raved about how good it was. It wasn’t awful, but I wouldn’t go there agian. The hibachi wasn’t bad, but the sushi wasn’t good. I ordered 2 rolls, but only ate one piece of both. The girl who took my order was friendly, though!

This is my go to place whenever I’m craving Asian cuisine. They have the BEST vegetable Hibachi and my all time favorite is the Banana Bubble Tea!!! It’s my addiction. Don’t forget to ask for an extra Yum Yum sauce for your Hibachi, it’s amazing!

A schoolmate of mine has been talking about Mt. Fuji since the day I met her. She has been a student at UofL for her entire adult education, so I guess she’s had her fair share. Wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not. Lol. Nevertheless, I decided to check it out and get a quick sushi fix. So, I’ll break this down pretty quickly. This place is set up as a take-out only location. Walk in, order at the counter, pick up at the kitchen window. However, weirdly there are some tables set up along the wall and some high chairs situated so you can watch them cook the hibachi menu items. Idk if the cashier brings you your food if you eat in, or if you pick up at window and seat yourself. Doubt I’d sit down and eat there though… but that’s personal choice. Not because of anything on their part. As for the food… I ordered pork gyoza and two rolls — spicy something and something with asparagus. Sorry for the lack of detail. But guess what… both rolls were fresh and held together. Nothing special or out of the ordinary, but they were tasty. Pork gyoza was hot and seasoned properly. Overall, I was quite satisfied. There wasn’t an abundance of choices as far as rolls go, but it is a fast food sushi joint so I won’t hold that against them. It’s worth another visit.

So I like to review places based on what they are for example I have given five star reviews to both expensive fine dining establishments and greasy spoon diner type establishments because I believe that they are the best for what they are. I don’t expect a diner to serve me a gourmet meal but that doesn’t mean it won’t be delicious! Anyway Mt Fuji is fast food hibachi. And it is damn good fast food hibachi! I met some friends at Mt Fuji for lunch and it was pretty crowded. I decided to have one of the sushi combos that came with a California roll and a yum yum roll and an order of pork gyoza dumplings which are basically like pot stickers. I also ordered the chicken fried rice hibachi for my girls to split. Everything was ready very quickly and was very tasty. It all seemed to be better than typical fast food quality also. Everyone I was with really enjoyed their food. My girls didn’t eat much of their meal so I took it home and it ended up being my dinner later that night and it was awesome. For the speed and price you just can’t beat the over all value here! I highly recommend giving Mt Fuji a try!

The staff are friendly, and that is a definite plus, but the sushi isn’t where it should be, even for fast food. I normally expect my sushi to be pretty chilled, and that was not the case. It was also overpriced, or they mistook my order, but either way i was pretty disappointed to have sushi that was both kinda warm and 11 dollars. However, i have heard that the hibachi is pretty great, so go for that and not for the seafood.

Perhaps it was just a bad day but my shrimp hibachi was the worst hibachi I ever had. Very salty, all I could taste was soy sauce. Not worth $ 8.59. The rice came separately and it was flavored with soy sauce only. So dissappointing…

Definitely not the best sushi in town, but it is the best option close to UL. Prices are low. Food is good. Portions are large. Service is quick. These pros will help you forget that you’d pay twice as much at a sit down sushi restaurant for slightly better sushi. Yum yum sauce is awesome. Add it to everything! Also try the bubble tea.

If you’ve never experienced the unique and tasty drink called bubble tea; this is the place to do it. This place has a variety of flavors and the option of two different types of «bubbles». They even give you the option to add extra bubbles. The have the gummy ones and the bursting fruity ones. It’s fun to drink as well as yummy. Almost like drinking a dessert or a great fruit juice depending on the flavor you get. The service is usually slow but the staff is friendly and the food(and bubble tea) are worth the wait. Don’t forget to check out the«tea room» towards to back of the place. It’s decorated in a fun way and makes for a great place to sit and sip your bubble tea with a group. The food is yummy; I usually get the chicken or steak stry fry that comes with«yum yum» sauce. It’s great but a very small amount compared the the size of the stry fry. You’ll want to order an extra for under a dollar.

I had the hibachi chicken and watermelon bubble tea. The portion was generous and cooked very well with just a hint of spiciness. The sauce was excellent. The bubble tea was also very good.

I love Mt Fuji! The food here is delicious and the atmosphere is great. The service is both quick and efficient and the hibachi is really good. They have bubble tea here as well and there are a variety of flavors that you can choose from. If you’re looking to grab something to eat on the go or somewhere to hang out with friends, then I would definitely recommend Mt Fuji.

This is a great place, I personally love it, however you have to keep in mind this is FASTFOOD Japanese. Don’t come here expecting Sapporo or Wild Ginger level. Food is delicious, portions are generous, fairly priced, and service is fast. Given the limited dining options in Old Louisville, this is one of the best place to go. The Hibachi is probably my favorite; a large portion of fried rice and wok vegetables with the meat of your choice. I you are willing to spend a few extra bucks, the chicken and stake hibachi is the best! The sushi is good, not great, but good enough to satiate the craving. Now, that being said, the dining room feels small when crowded; it can get loud. The ambiance is not the best, but you are not paying for a nice place anyway. I read a review for this place and the reviewer said that the place was terrible because of the layout, noise, and because you place your order at the counter rather than at a table and proceeded to compare Mt. Fuji to Sapporo. Overall, great for a fast and cheap sushi fix.

I love Mt Fuji! We live in Old Louisville, and there aren’t very many places within walking distance to go for a quick dinner, or even dinner at all. The hibachi is great: amazingly seasoned fried rice and simple veggies. The sushi isn’t the best in town, but for the convenience it’s worth it: fresh and pretty good for simple sushi. I’m grateful that this place has kept in business, especially after changing from a strictly veggie place to an all-out-hibachi joint. Quick, convenient, and very yummy. A fabulous business in the neighborhood.

I tried this for the first time today based solely on the Unilocal reviews. I loved the cucumber salad and as a matter of fact, I just finished it 11 hours later. It came with a Ponzu sauce and was a ton of cucumber slices sliced thin like I like them. I also tried the Philly roll and the shrimp roll. It was ready when I arrived and the service was friendly. They were fresh and tasty and the price is right.

I’ve never had the sushi here, but this place is worth coming to for the hibachi alone. It’s affordable, quality food and the portion is generous. The rice is fried with a minimal amount of soy sauce, and a few bits off egg mixed in. The vegetables include onions, carrots, zucchini, and broccoli, and are cooked al dente. The meat is cubed into decent chunks, and seasoned well with black pepper. I’m not a huge fan of the sauce that comes with it, but they serve it in a cup on the side now(they used to put it on the food).

Only came here because it was nearby. I don’t understand how it got good reviews. Overpriced, very limited sushi options, & the bubble tea is the weird, prepackaged kind. Really not impressed. The rolls weren’t formed or cut well so when I tried to eat them, they fell apart. Really wouldn’t recommend this place unless it’s your only choice.

OHMYGOSH. I love this place. Salads are extra big and come with plenty of delicious dressing. Every sushi roll that I’ve ordered I love. I particularly like«the Cowboy.» Comes with steak, cream cheese, avocado, and all around delicious goodness. I had never had steak sushi before and it left me craving it later.(I may or may not have returned two days later to get another). Also — love the hibachi — generous portion. If you can control yourself you might even be able to split it and eat as leftovers if you want. 6.50 for chicken, 7.95 for steak. They use a ton of seasoning — which I love. Only recently started charging for extra yum yum sauce. They do have an assortment of bubble tea. I’ve only tried the Thai tea flavor and its not as sweet as the thai tea I normally like but I keep coming back for more. They also use black pearls instead of clear… in case that matters to you. Glad this place turned around and I love giving them my business! LOVEMTFUJI!
