We ended up at Dittos like we end up at most places: recommendations, hunger and vicinity. We were out on a walk when we started feeling hunger pangs and like a mirage through the misty drizzle we saw Dittos Grill and figured it was time to give them a try. We were greeted immediately and we requested a booth if one was available. The manager happily cleaned one off for us and in a few moments we were seated and greeted by our server. I wish I could remember her name because she was attentive and very sweet. She has very pretty red hair and is probably in her early 20’s, so if you get her your in good hands! Anyway, we were a little surprised by the menu. It was a lot of locally sourced meat and produce, which is great, but most of the entrees were kind of unappetizing for our palate. We might be a little biased because we’re not huge fans of any fusion but we wanted to give it a try anyway. We scanned through lots of dishes sprinkled with a variety of nuts, fruits and seemingly elevated classic grill style dishes and opted for some simpler fair. Logan ordered the Angus burger with blue cheese and French fries and I ordered the roasted turkey and smashed potatoes open faced sandwich and a side of the mac and cheese. The food was great! Logan loved his burger and oh my those were some of the best French fries! They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I couldn’t stop snatching them out of his basket. My roasted turkey and smashed potatoes had simple flavors, buttery, savory and VERY salty. It filled me up fast but was easily forgotten. The star of my meal was the mac and cheese. It was hands down the best mac I’ve ever had. It was exactly what you want in mac n cheese, creamy, comforting and baked to perfection. Overall: The service and management is great and they all seemed to work in unison. Most of the menu were complicated dishes that didn’t interest my partner and I particularly but I know that a lot of people would be delighted to find seemingly inspired dishes for prices ranging from 16.00−35.00. It has a very friendly and open atmosphere and I think it’d be great for a night out with the family or an impromptu date. I recommend this place, it was a nice find.

Horrible service. 5 tables being served out of the 20 – 30 tables. 20 minutes to be seated. Brought our drinks. And then 20 minutes without even asking about taking our order. Timmy was too busy socializing. We left. Not a great experience.

One great thing about Dittos is that their menu is quite large, and you can probably find something for everyone. That being said, I would say it’s a step up from the chain Americana restaurants. The staff is very friendly, and the bread they give you is great. It’s pretty typical food though.

This place is pretty good. It’s perfect for hosting older guests or a family with children. It’s a large space and quiet enough that you can have a conversation with everybody at your table, and there’s an actual small parking lot along the side and out back so your older guests don’t have to walk too far. Last week we took my in-laws from out of town and they liked it very much. My wife’s meal was good but my hamburger was undercooked(ordered medium well), a little mushy, and not very tasty even with the wonderful Henry Bain sauce. I got the impression they’re trying to hide the poor hamburger behind the sauce. That’s not representative of previous meals here, though, which were just fine if not memorable. The best part of the meal was the Sweet Potato Fries appetizer. Crispy and hot and served with a sweet dip, would almost qualify as dessert and was very popular with everybody at the table.

Ditto the previous reviews. It’s dependably not too weird. You can almost always get a table without a wait. The calamari is very good and lightly breaded. Best thing I’ve tried is the strawberry chicken and couscous salad with raspberry dressing. This food was adventurous 15 years ago. It’s usually prepared correctly and hot, but they aren’t breaking any new ground. The chef is really talented– I’d love to see some nightly specials that were more on the wild side.

The happy hour prices are really good. I wish it went on until at least 6:30! I eat here every few weeks with a large group of people. It is easy to get some wings for dinner and a beer(or double of bourbon!) and have a nice, cheap dinner. The buffalo wings could be spicier, but I understand that Dittos is about pleasing a wide range of people. Service is okay, sometimes absent.

Dittos has become one of my favorite spots on Bardstown Road for dinner out before a night at the bars. The restaurant has a very eclectic atmosphere with lots of unique art and there’s not a bad seat in the house! The menu is definitely different with a lot of specialties. The 7-layer dip is my favorite appetizer, highly recommended and great for sharing. The entrees I’ve enjoyed the most are the black bean burger and the Chinese burrito, which I’ve gotten multiple times and is pretty consistent. It’s a unique twist on fajitas, with stir fry with your choice of meats and flour tortillas with a rich sauce for topping. Overall, everyone in my party seems to thoroughly enjoy what they get. The only thing keeping me from giving them a 5 is that service is hit and miss. There have been some times food has taken a while or somebody was brought the wrong thing, but this last visit service was great so it looks like things are looking up!

The first review that is shown when I come to the reviews of Dittos is Emily H. And the first sentence of that review sums up dining here perfectly — it is the Bardstown Road version of Applebees. Everything here was middle of the road dining at its finest. The mozzarella sticks were OK, my burger(Woodland Farm Bison Burger with henry bain sauce, cheddar) was nothing extraordinary, I can’t believe they charge extra for fries! That is madness when the burger is already $ 11. I must say though, their mixed drinks are wonderful and they don’t skimp on the booze, which is quite nice! Also, may I take a minute to vent here. I hate that we live in this society where so many people are jerks about tipping that you can’t use it to make a point — anything that’s not 15%-20% just makes you look cheap. My point about this is my server was easily one of the most blasé, minimal-effort possible, uninterested, bored-acting«professionals» I have encountered in a long time. And yet, instead of giving him a tiny tip(what he deserved), I have to give the full amount because otherwise I look like a skinflint. We need to make changes and abolish the tipping structure. It has been ruined by cheap people and has no real meaning anymore.

The food was pretty good but our service was terrible. My husband ordered a house salad, I ordered a full order of crab cakes and my kiddo ordered a kids cheeseburger. The bill was around $ 30. My crab cakes were delicious, my husband’s salad was good but tiny for $ 9.00, and my daughter’s kids meal was good. Our server did not greet us for 15 minutes, even though the restaurant was dead. He took our order and then we did not see him again until our food came out around 30 mins later and after I asked another server about our food. All of the other tables were brought bread, we never received bread. A little pricey for the quality of food.

I’ve never reviewed Ditto’s although it’s 1.5 miles from my house and I’ve been here many times. Not a single one of those times did I leave Ditto’s thinking«that was a great meal.»

I used to come here almost 20 years ago and order their calamari because it wasn’t widely available and I loved it. I recently came back, but tried other things on the menu. Me and the kids ordered the crab quesadilla to start and then split the chicken carbonara and the traditional pizza. It was a lot of food and ended up taking two big boxes home. It didn’t blow us away by any means though. The hostess never said a word to us and the server was friendly, but didn’t give us her opinion on anything and we never even knew her name. The place was pretty empty for a Friday night.

Dittos Grill is the Bardstown Road version of an Applebee’s. Given that it is in the Highlands, it is a step above an Applebee’s, but none of the dishes I’ve had are particularly remarkable. I tried the Pan Asian Garlic Noodles last night. They were just OK. I liked the sauce, but the asparagus were small and shriveled. I also tried a few bites of the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. The radiatori pasta was one-note — just cheese(and not particularly good cheese) without any other flavors. Similarly, the crab quesadillas and mozzarella sticks tasted like they were just dumped out of a bag and fried or nuked.(But when you order mozzarella sticks, I realize that you can’t really expect culinary greatness.) Dittos’ menu contains a mix of pasta and burgers with a pizza, ribs and some Mexican and Asian dishes mixed in. While so many Highlands restaurants carve out a niche, Dittos is more of a generalist — everyone will be able to find something. But when you consider that Dittos has been around since 1991 — outlasting so many other restaurants along this stretch — you have to appreciate it some. Here are some reasons to go to Dittos: * You have kids who are picky eaters. Like I said, there’s someone that will taste OK for everyone. And while I don’t like pointing this out, the times that I have been to Dittos, the restaurant was largely empty. So if you have rambunctious kiddos, they likely won’t annoy a lot of other diners. * Your parents, grandparents, great aunt, great uncle, etc., are/is visiting, and you’re trying to compromise and go someplace locally owned when they are wanting to go someplace safe, like Chili’s or The Cheesecake Factory. * You have a large party on Bardstown Road that you need to find a table for ASAP. * You want to take advantage of the Happy Hour, which is Monday-Saturday 1 – 6 p.m. and includes half off appetizers, drinks, wine by the glass and beer. And speaking of beer, you’ll find the normal suspects here, as in all manner of Budweiser and Coors, with Sam Adams, Heineken and Guinness added in, along with a token West Sixth and Fall City. I would very much urge Dittos to stock more local, craft beer. If I can’t get amazing food, I’d like to at least drink something great. The service was prompt, so that was above par at least. But really, Dittos is just mediocre in an area that boasts some of the best food in Louisville.

Service was great! Atmosphere was quirky and fun. Recommended bourbon and ginger drinks were quite delicious. Salmon salad was generous and hit the spot. Friends’ cheeseburger and fries were perfect. Overall a great dining experience!

This place rocks. The menu varies on a monthly basis. There is usually a signature pizza signature pasta and signature dessert and probably other feature dishes that I am forgetting about. And, they have a fantastic brunch on Sunday! Service here has always been awesome, with the owner stopping by almost every time we’ve been there… You were awesome Frank! We have been coming to dittos for a few years now, and we always have a great time. The seating here is excellent: large booths and lots of atmosphere… Awesome art on the walls. My only quibble would be that they expand their beer selection. Cocktails from the bar are excellent. Dittos is a Louisville staple.

I’m quite sure I was at the same restaurant as many other reviewers and our experience was very good. Our waiter was attentive without being smothering. The other servers were quick to pick up our dishes on their way past us. The Thai Sizzler was excellent. I love pineapple rice and this dish had a not-too-sweet taste that was perfectly balanced with the huge piece of tender chicken(no knife needed to cut!). The vegetables were steamed so they were just tender enough. I truly hate mushy vegetables. My salad was fresh with the dressing on the side which I greatly prefer. My husband had the bow-tie pasta with chicken and loved it. We’re not drinkers so I have no comment on the drinks. At 7:30pm on a Friday night, the place was about 2⁄3 full but it wasn’t noisy and the staff was still pretty relaxed. We also skipped the appetizers so we had room for dessert. The chocolate brownie torte was wonderful! The raspberry sauce actually had more raspberry taste than just the sugary syrup I’ve had at other places. I have no idea what a goldbrick sundae actually entails but it was fantastic! Both were advertised as «half portion» and we could barely finish them! Sorry that others seemed to have had a bad experience but ours was absolutely great! We’ll definitely be back and will happy recommend this place to friends!

I can really only give this restaurant three stores due to the fact that the food was mediocre and the service was above par. The mozzarella cheese sticks were really good but they must not know to deep fry them while they’re frozen because a lot of the cheese a popped out of the sides. I had chicken and broccoli with bowtie pasta for my main entrée and was disappointed to see the chicken was fried. The flavor of the dish itself was semi-bland. Anyway not a bad experience however probably won’t be going back unless someone really wants to go.

We’ve been loyal customers here for some time but now I don’t see us coming back. Two of my favorite entrees(hoisin wraps and BBQ chicken pizza) are suddenly(after 3+ years) no longer on the menu. My girlfriend always gets the fish sandwich with sweet potato fries. They now no longer offer sweet potato fries as a side, only as an appetizer. Why would it be so much trouble to just allow her to order them as a side, even with the upcharge as they’ve always done? When we asked the manager he refused to allow us to order the fries as a side. They’ve always had mediocre food for too-high prices but we dealt with that because of the proximity to our home and because they had a number of comfort foods we enjoyed. No more. Refusal to accommodate longtime customers and strange, random changes to the menu? No thanks. I could go on but that’d be cruel. This restaurant appears to be circling the drain, and not a moment too soon. Good riddance.

Went there for an impromptu dinner date. It was about 5pm on a Sunday and the inside of the place was near dead. It took about 5 minutes to be seated as the wait staff also had to serve as host/hostess. Once seated it we were promptly greeted by out waitress. I requested a gluten free(GF) menu, which she claimed they don’t have. No big deal to me, I asked if some menu items that called for flour tortillas if I could replace them for corn tortillas because I wanted to try the Chinese Burrito(sounded delicious!) waitress claims this place only had the flour tortilla(really?!) So my boyfriend and I stated we just needed to look at the menu. About 10 minutes, no drinks and another couple getting seated and order taken later, we finally placed an order. While the food was above mediocre, the service was sort of lacking. The menu seems pretty extensive, but some of the price points seemed kind of steep for a restaurant that looks similar to Jim Porters on the inside. I got the pork and andouille sausage burger no bun with smashed potatoes that didn’t taste seasoned. My date got a burger that looked good! My experience wasn’t bad, but it didn’t blow my mind either. I probably won’t be coming back.

I can’t believe that last night was the first time I’ve ever been here. It was pretty good and I anticipate that I will be back with my usual dinner group. A large(but not unreasonable), varied menu. The happy hour deals are great! My burger was delicious. The calamari appetizer was tasty, as were the thai wings. The crème brûlée that I got as dessert was pretty meh… Overall, a good middle of the road place with something for everyone.

I used to love coming here awhile ago, it seems to have gone a little downhill. But that could be since we had 11 people at 4 in the afternoon. I do LOVE their crab quesadillas! Everything else was kind of so-so. I had the teriyaki salmon with stir fry veggies. It was ok, nothing to rave about for sure. The service was good, he made sure to repeat our order back to us, so everything was correct, it just seemed like we were always waiting on something: drinks, hot sauce, someone’s order. I’ll come back for those crab quesadillas and their cream brûlée, but as for entrée’s, I’ll stick to their deli in the back: Stephen’s and Stephen’s.
