Yolanda Aguilar Beauty Institute & Health Spa

I had a great experience at this spa. The massage I received was perfect — not too weak and not too hard. My massage therapist even massaged my face and my skin looked great afterwards! Thumbs up and I’ll definitely come again.

I was so naïve to go to this «spa»
It was the worst decision I have made on my life,
I have scars due to a facial they did to me.
If I was to have any prove I will sue them.
All I have are the scars on temples due to their poor and ridiculous performance…

Made an appointment and was called 3 hours before my treatment to cancel. Note to business: when you call to cancel you better be willing to entice your upset costumer with some sort of freebie or discount. There are way too many spas in the area for clients to put up with your nonsense!

I had bough 6 facial. On one of my appointment I had an unexpected meeting at work OK. No problem so I call to reschedule I was transfer to Yolanda once explaining she told me if I miss any appointment I would permanently lose a session even thou it was paid. Another thing I went to my sessions I was not given a locker to put my belongings. u only get a locker if you buy any of her other expensive services. As far as customer service she doesn’t treat anyone equally.

My experience with Yolanda Aguilar Spa has been great. Because of them my face cleared of acne. The facials are great! Not only do they work but they are also extremely relaxing. I walked out of there feeling new and refreshed. It is definitely worth it.
I personally haven’t had a massage there but my family members who have been there say they are great!
I would reccomend this spa to anyone who is looking for a great spa. You definitely get what you pay for.

Their combination massage was incredible. Wonderful service and staff. I will be coming back to try their facials and the body wash.

Horrible Horrible Horrible… YOLANDA ripped my facialist out of the room mid treatment and stood outside the door screaming at her for 10 minutes… Not only was my facial NOT relaxing… but it was cut short by the OWNER being a freak!!! After… when I was paying for this horrible service I mentioned the issue to Yolanda and she started screaming at me… What a nightmare… I would never give this woman my business. And I hope you will beware… I dislike giving negative reviews… but I have never been treated more poorly, and in a place I went to seek comfort.

This was my first time going to this spa, the service was excellent but i didnt like where it was located and the parking was to expensive. Its better when you get the full package because you get more pampered than anything. I liked how the place looked, the rooms were nice, and the locker room was very clean. The service was outstanding, i will go back again.

Since my last review, I received a letter in the mail from Yolanda herself apologizing for the experience I had and offering me a complimentary, 45-​minute Swedish massage and a credit for the amount that I believe I was overcharged. I’ve gladly taken her up on her offers, but never heard from her again after that.

It was okay. My massage was needed– but nothing that was out of the ordinary. I still don’t think my neck is as good as I wanted it to be after leaving there
. All the movements my masseus did for my deep tissue massage were EXACTLY like what I learned how to do from a deck of massage cards– seriously I was like oh this is «the heavenly hold.» Things that u can easily read off the card and do at home, so I doubt I’ll ever return unless the boyfriend is out of town this long again. I’d rather save the money and trade massages with him.
Golds gym members get 25% off but it’s still $ 70 for 45 mins… I plan to try the place by my apartment for $ 40 for an hour massage next

Waited 1hr for an APPT? What’s the point of making an appt if you have to wait an hour! I told them I was leaving and they said that if I left they wouldn’t validate my parking! I said, it’s not worth staying just for a few bucks!

Main reason I go to Yolanda Aguilar is b/​c it’s close to where I work, so I can conveniently squeeze in a brazilian wax during a lunch hour.
Bertha — the hair removal technician (how nice I put it huh?! lol) is GREAT! She’s very meticulous about her job… uses tweezers to get those little suckers that won’t come off w/​the wax.
It’s rather $$$, but worth it in my book since I had gone to spots like nail salons that offer waxing and I’d get ingrown hairs b/​c of the poor job they did. Waxing the treasure is one area I don’t skimp on ;)

I give it minus three stars for a reason.
Minus star: First, I called them to get rates on eyebrows. I was told it was $ 12, so I thought that was terrific and went in, plus my gym is right next door and Gold’s members can get discounts on certain days. When I went to my appointment itwas $ 25! I told the woman at the register that I was not told that, so she gave it to me for $ 15 because I was misinformed which is very nice of her. My discount didn’t apply though since it was Monday and apparently doesn’t apply to eyebrows at all, just certain services.
When I got my brows done the woman was super nice, she didn’t speak much english which had me worried she didn’t understand me, but she did a great job.
Two minus stars for this reason: she left lesions under my eyebrows! I was able to hide it with coverup, but such a high priced and professional spa should NOT leave behind something like that, at all. So I probably won’t go again because the $ 15 was a one-​time thing from the spa, and I would NOT pay $ 25 for that.

I’ve been going to this spa for about 1 year now and have had some excellent experiences which definitely outweigh the couple of weird experiences I’ve had. I would recommend this place (Jennifer for facials and massages and Bertha for waxes). The spa is super clean and modern as well.
By weird, I mean that they, at first, refused to give me the name of the person I had seen previously for a wax bc they said the owner would not allow it — bizarre. In the end, I got the name.
Also, they just upped their prices to an astronomical level for waxes. The only reason I pay the price is for convenience — I work in the building.

I had my consultation on a Saturday at 11am. I showed up at 10:50 am and was finally seen at 11:55am. Not once did they apologize for the wait or give me a reason for it taking so long. The woman that took down my information and inspected my skin was a little to pushy about the services. She did explain a lot about the process of each service and even made some recommendations. I figured I would give it a shot and signed up for the 6 facial sessions. I had my first session at that point and it wasn’t that great. The woman seemed rushed and there were people constantly popping into the room and grabbing equipment or asking questions. There was no time to feel relaxed since she would stop to answer questions ever couple of minutes. Once I got home I did some research and found out that what she recommended is A LOT more powerful than she led on. I am Hispanic and there are some concerns about darker skin which she didn’t bring up. For someone that boasts 20+ years you would think they would at least mention it.
The second session was on a Wed (20% of as a Golds Member) at 7pm and it was better. The lady was taking her time, was nice to me, and actually massaged me in a good way. This time there weren’t all these people making noise and popping in and out of the room. I guess the weekends are just so busy that they can not really create a tranquil environment.
The 3^rd time I went I actually had to share a room with someone else that was getting another service done. It wouldn’t of been bad had it not been a guy and had it not been with a machine that made a lot of noise, no curtain, just lying right next to me! Once the other tech was done she proceeded to clean up and washed out what sounded like pans and rags.
Once I finish up my treatments I will not go back. The nice things about them are that their front desk staff is nice, they have a 3hr validation through Golds Gym, they are one of the few spas in downtown, and they are open until 8pm during the week. Don’t forget to ask for the 20% off on certain services if you still decide to go.

It was my first time getting a massage, a 45 min Swedish massage was $ 70 but since I’m a member of the Gold’s Gym, I got 20% off (only from Tuesday to Thursday). The receptionist was very nice to me when she found out I had never got a massage. She showed me the changing room + steam room and even told me how to use the locker. I took my time to change, then the masseuse led me to the room. She politely told me to take off my robe and waited outside the door until I was done. I was relieved because I’m definitely not that type of girl who runs around in the locker room naked. Since I haven’t been to any other massage places, I can’t compare the service to other spas. But I felt really great coming out of the room, I almost fell asleep! When I came out (still a little drowsy) the masseuse handed me a cup of fresh cucumber-​orange (?) water and it’s SO refreshing. I am very pleased with the service and will definitely go again.
By the way, it’s located at the bottom floor of 7^th+Fig plaza, Right next to Gold’s Gym. First visitors may find the garage confusing. I usually enter on 7^th street and go up one level. Parking is validated.
