I have to start with a positive… The bar/kitchen, adjacent, is superb… Hidden gem ! The owner was extremely nice, had great customer service, and she provided chilled champagne and hot tea after the massages. So my boyfriend and I chose to get a couples massage here, sorry to say not a good idea. When I came out of the mediocre facial given by the questionable esthetician, I was met outside the door by a cold and sterile faced woman. My boyfriend and I were told to face opposite directions, when we began our massages, which was so bizarre. My boyfriend said his mesuse was also cold and mean. The theme customer service and ambiance are wonderful. But they must do better staff wise, especially to keep up with the savvy downtown atmosphere.

I DONOTRECOMMEND this spa. I wanted to get a massage in downtown after work, so I found this place on Unilocal.I should have figured the 10 people who left great reviews were probably friends & family. I booked the 60-minute Frais Spa Massage. Everyone was friendly. Customer service was not the problem, just the quality of the massage. I paid roughly ~$ 120 expecting a great massage but only to get oil rubbed on my body — that’s it. The only pressure I received was when the therapist pushed her elbow into my back. She did not seem qualified to be working at a spa. This was the most DISSATISFYING massage ever. I will never come back nor recommend to anyone. The lady at the reception desk asked me how it went and assumed that I had a great time; I told her my thoughts and she said she will forward my feedback to the manager. If you’re looking for a massage with a spa atmosphere, pass on this place.

I rarely go out of my way to review a place but Frais deserves it. First off, the space is beautiful, great attention to detail and I love the one of kind jewelry and products in the waiting area. And let’s not forget the yummy tea you get while you’re waiting. The changing room is loaded with high end products to use(Moroccan oil), plush robes and slippers and the steam room is amazing. I would come just to sit in the steam room. And then there is Noelle, with hands from heaven. Having an 11 month old to chase around, mama was in desperate need of a massage, and Noelle did not disappoint. I also added the hydrating wrap to my service, I would highly recommend it. Overall you should just stop reading this and book an appointment.

Having a photographers back which needs regular attention, Dr Dale Fernandez is a rare find in the practice of chiropractic service. He’s on point and brilliant at relieving and healing my aches and pains. I’m thrilled to find he practices at Frais spa, providing steam and shower amenities. Ive booked an hours deep tissue massage next week as I was so impressed with the professional service Dale and his staff provided. Parking on the street wasn’t available when I arrived for my appointment. With my validation parking was $ 8 for 2 hours which was fine. The Spa manager informed me they’re working on a better deal.

We had an Express Facial my BF and I. The esthetician called Jennifer is amazing: she takes time to discuss and provides customized beauty advice. She perfectly knows the techniques, products, ingredients, it is rare; and I felt comfortable with her. Pleased with the cleanliness and chic ambiance of the spa. As French ladies, our expectations are high because we are used to French beauty spas. The store has nice locally sourced and organic cosmetic products. The treatment I had was with EmerginC. It is the first time I see results improving on my skin during the days after the service. I bought a gift for my husband, Body Brick(Das Boom), featured in a recent GQ magazine, this brand is only for men, it was a good surprise they had it. The only critic I would say is that we struggled for a moment with the closet locker in the changing room… I am not used to that system.

This is a nice addition to the spas in DTLA. This place is serene and has a nice décor. Most importantly their staff is extremely knowledgeable and talented. I received an amazing hot stone massage from JANNET. She was so skillful and knew dozens of techniques to help me deal with my back issues. I strongly recommend a massage from Jannet or service at Frais Spa!

What a find! Tucked in the downtown boutique O Hotel, Frais Spa is a tranquil haven. My husband and I had the Couple’s Massage. Fantastic staff and impeccable service. We booked online, and were pampered from the moment we arrived. Karen and Dale Fernandez are attentive down to the smallest details, and it shows. The steam room, the shower, the white fluffy robes, perfectly brewed green tea, the locally sourced, organic products and the professional staff really add up to a 5 star experience. We will definitely be back.

Frais Spa inside of the O Hotel, is the exact relaxation haven Downtown needed but didn’t know it had. What makes this spa special is the customization of your desired experience. The space is tucked into the back of a quaint business minded boutique hotel. O hotel is conveniently located in the financial district of downtown Los Angeles, while being toward the corner that makes visiting the staples center and/or the convention center an enjoyable breeze. This is where you find the blissful oasis that is Frais Spa. It’s weakness are its strength and vice versa. Looking at client/business perspectives. Volume is important for a business but too much would create of muddied jumble mess of an experience for the spa. At the same time it is small, it’s actually quite large. The prepping room/locker room is fantastic when it is utilized as a private space, but could feel intruding when crossing paths with another potential customer receiving service. My experience with the spa was that of exclusiveness as I was the only guest. Entering the space you are greeted with the option of water or Green tea. I went with the green tea. That private bath has a steam room, a switch shower head/hose, hair dryer and other bathroom accoutrements(lotion, deodorant spray, etc). You are provided with slippers and robe. Given the ability to relax into your massage time, it is recommended you come before your massage time to utilize the steam room and enjoyment of your tea. I showed up a few minutes before my scheduled massage so I partook in the steam and shower after my massage. Janet is fantastic!!! She was my masseuse and literally blows away most massages I have received at other spas. She is has a real skill at finding the exact spots that need work and gently but forcefully enough relax and work through the knots. The entire time was enjoyable and soothing and never felt rushed. She really cares about your personal well being. More green tea was offered with a little treat after the massage. Mellow spa music plays throughout the modern, sleek designed space. Overall if you are visiting or live downtown, Frais Spa should be an expected and most enjoyable experience of downtown Los Angeles.

I was in a bit of a hurry so I was only able to do their express facial. An ex of mine was in town and wanted to catch up over coffee, so naturally I wanted to look my best. I was relieved to have been able to get a last minute appointment. The facial really helped to hydrate and tone my face, my skin was pretty dry so I was a little skeptical about how effective the express facial would be but I was pleasantly surprised. The space is quiet clean and has a tranquil vibe, I’m definitely looking forward to going back with more time so that I can make a day of it.

WOW. I’ve gotten quite a few massages in LA and Jannet at Frais is one of the best. She seemed really in tune with my very sore back and worked out all of my ailments. I got a hot stone massage and it was incredible. The space is great — clean, minimal and inviting. Frais provides robes, slippers, and all of the essential comforts a spa should offer. The spa is inside the O Hotel — all you have to do is walk down the hallway before you see the sign. Really worth the trip. I can not wait to go back!

My experience in the Frais spa at the O hotel was simply magnificent. I hadn’t been to a spa in quite sometime. I had an appointment with Jennifer for a facial. My trip to the O hotel happen to fall right in line with my birthday week. I was first greeted by two ladies at the front counter who were very gracious and accommodating. I was offered refreshments and then led into the lux and modern men’s locker room where I changed into a robe and sandals that were provided. I truly love and appreciate a spa that has everything I need to freshen up. Q tips, tissue, lotion and hand soap just to name a few. The main course was definitely my facial with Jennifer. When I walked into her room I immediately felt in a peaceful state of being. Jennifer’s energy and demeanor added tranquility to my day. Anytime I get a facial, I always go with what the esthetician recommends. Jennifer knew exactly what I needed. She first cleansed my face. Then did extraction with a steamer. Followed by a mask. I also received a facial massage, toner, moisturizer, serum and eye cream! She has hands of a goddess! The product used on my face was from an organic line. When she completed my facial, my skin felt rejuvenated, fresh, smooth and full of life! Everything from start to finish was impeccable. That’s exactly what I look for in an esthetician. I will most definitely be going back to the Frias spa to see Jennifer. Gratitude to its fullest. Thank you team. :) and thanks for the chocolate treat.

A hidden gem in DTLA, perfect for busy execs and workers in the area… Facility is clean, sleek and convenient. During my first visit following an action-packed business trip, I had the Weekday Express Massage(25 minutes) which was such a nice, relaxing treat! I was also really impressed with their $ 20 Shower and Steam access– perfect for when you have a big evening event but don’t have time to head home or outside of downtown in-between the office and the next venue. They also sell adorable Made in LA products featuring some cool skincare lines. One caveat: make sure to book your appointment online! Very efficient, hardly any wait as a result, but not a spot for an impromptu drop-in.
