I wouldn’t normally review a drink place, but i must for Surf City Squeeze.
I only have one smoothie recommendation.
Blueberry banana.
Seriously.
I know strawberry banana smoothies are all the rage but NO!
You must get the blueberry banana.
Now normally, I’m not really a fan of banana. and, im not really a fan of blueberries incorporated into things (i like them fresh and whole), but this smoothie is sooooo amazing!
I get it almost every time I go to the grove!
Now, scurry! go to the grove if only to get a freakin’ blueberry banana smoothie!

It’s in the middle of The Grove, and a great spot to sit and people watch. Customer service could be better. My boyfriend asked the employee for any recommendations, and the guy said he hasn’t really tried anything from the menu. Therefore, I was apprehensive at first and considered just going to a Starbucks. I was surprised how good the watermelon strawberry chiller was. It reminded me of a granita. It was sweet and satisfying on a hot day.

The only downside to trip up to the counter is the pressure from having to decide between strawberry banana & peanut butter banana. For some reason, I have never found another Surf City, check that, another smoothie joint that equals the cold sweet bliss of sucking one of these down while watching the latest Ben Affleck film and hoping the punk kid in front of you stops texting once the movie starts.

I will go out of my way just and find parking at the grove just to get my strawberry & banana smoothie.
I knocked off 1 star by the lack of customer service.
But five stars for the product!

So my love for this place started in high school when I worked at the Glendale Galleria and would get a strawberry banana smoothie almost every single day I worked…
Then I kinda got over the smoothies and forgot about them until one day at the grove, I started to feel like I was coming up with a cold and ordered a fresh squeezed OJ… It took about 10 oranges to fill my extra large order… took a sip…
Uh wow? Serious, to this day… They make the best freakin’ orange juice on the planet…
I loved it so much that I even bought the same kind of juice extractor that they use so I can have it when I’ve got the time to peel and squeeze some at home!
