Eh I grabbed the caprese sandwich because I was in a rush. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t amazing either.

On our way home from visiting the parents in California we stopped for lunch at LAX with couple hours to kill before boarding. We found a quiet corner at the bar tucked in behind the wine racks and tables. We ordered the Croque Monsieur and a classic French jambon sandwich, but had missed the breakfast sandwich window. The lovely woman working the counter offered to make us a couple of hot ham and cheese croissants which we paired with a light rose with a delicious strawberry nose and hint of minerality. They also sell half bottles of quality wine, although it’s pricey $ 20+. She graciously let us linger at the counter for 90 minutes until our flight boarded, checked in regularly to pour more mineral water — a real discover in the hustling bustling Delta terminal.

On our flight from MSY-LAX-SFO the mother and I were STARVING. But it was so early in the morning that we weren’t sure what to eat. We opted to split a French Brie(French Ham, Brie, Arugula, Mustard Butter & Cornichons) from this place. It came cut in half and with a side of delicious chips… the only thing I didn’t like was the $ 15 price tag!!!

Ack. This location can’t hold a candle to their 3rd St Promenade location. The first time I purchased food from this LAX location, it was late at night and they only had pre-packaged sandwiches available. I bought the caprese for $ 13(really??) and was so disgusted after one bite that I threw it away. A lot of bread, soggy greens and tomatoes, a bit of mozzarella. Nasty. And I was hungry so you can imagine that it had to be bad. And then I had my second visit. This time I ordered a glass of red wine and the French cheese plate. They only have two wine options($ 12 each), one white and one red, but the red was surprisingly decent. While the service I received was perfunctory, I witnessed others not being treated well by the staff. The cheese plate($ 16) was meh. The olives tasted weird and kinda nasty. The strips of ham did not please the palate. The cheeses were not of great quality. I did see a couple of panini sandwiches that looked decent. Maybe I’ll give that a try next time I’m stuck in LAX terminal 5. Essentially, this is not a restaurant to which I will be eager to return. Maybe in a pinch I’d go for wine and a panini. But there are a few other options I’d probably hit up as a first option.

Came here looking for breakfast. I ordered the croque Monsieur and I would advise against it. Wayyyyy too much cheese and the ham is like something I used to eat for lunch in grade school.

Wanted to like this place. The grilled cheese sandwich looked really good. Sad to say, eating it was not as good an experience as looking at it. My sandwich had clearly been made hours ahead of time and reheated. It was stale and tough around the edges and cold in the middle. The salad that came with it had wilted lettuce. On a positive note: cashier was amazing and happy! Her name is Sheila. Really appreciated how sweet and happy she was.

The entire Farmers Market area in this terminal is extremely cramped. I understand they’re trying to provide a lot of variety for travelers(?) but it’s honestly stressful to even be in this section because there’s so much going on at so many different places at the same time in such a small space. Ordered the chicken pesto sandwich here. The woman taking our order was nice enough. Food took about fifteen minutes to get and it was decent. Nothing stellar. The chips that came with it were bland and flavorless. Basically, airport food continues not to impress me.

90% of my work week is travel. I eat out a lot! With that said, after eating here I HAD to write a review. The menu sounded great. Looked like a fresh spin on the usual airport fare. Price point was a bit high, but they had some great choices. I ordered the grilled cheese and upgraded with turkey, added a salad, and finished with Fiji water. Price $ 26.17. A bit high for lunch, but worth it for a great meal. What I received was an over cooked stale baguette, cheese everywhere except on the sandwich, and a salad that had been previously frozen at the top. I eat out all the time and this was my worst experience in years! Not recommended for the weary traveler!

Nice calm spot within the insanity that is LAX. I just got a coffee — but they have a selection of sand which at airport pricing. The lady behind the counter was extremely courteous to all the customers in line which always scores high marks from me. There’s also a wide selection of goodies from ‘The Original Farmers Market’, from mustard, mixed nuts, and booze(wine).

$ 15 egg and ham crêpe missing the bechamel, the ham, and very little egg, not to mentioned, the crêpe lacked flavor. Go across to Loteria Grill– looked way better!

All and all this is a great find when you consider you are in an airport. Sit at the marble bar top around the side and relax with some wine and cheese. The food is very solid for how quick they turn it around and they make it to order for you so you have a choice. Enjoy!
