Great food… a real gem I love everything on the menu but really come back for the chicken Marsala(not always on the menu).

Food was pretty decent. Service from the owner was pretty bad toward me, but he treated my guests very well. Not sure how I could have offended? I wouldn’t take a date there for that reason, but a casual meal with a close friend where service doesn’t matter as much, sure. Spaghetti Fruta DE Mar was good. My guest pointed out that they served with a chipped plate… I wouldn’t have minded, but they had a two year old so they paid attention to sharp edges. My guests liked the garlic they served with the bread, they were okay with the food. I liked the small, intimate atmosphere of a locally owned restaurant.

Chef Hannes is a very rude guy in person. I don’t give a crap if «you are busy at lunchtime»! You don’t treat a customer like that, EVER. When i tried to talk to him about my daughters school charity, he had no time for me and basically blew me off. The food is good here, but I won’t be coming back since you don’t have time for me, I don’t have $$$ for you!

If I were to recommend anything to grub here, it would be their chopped house salad. And the spaghetti al frutti di mare. And the sand dab with angel hair pasta. The tomato and basil soup is amazing! Look, everything I’ve tried here is great!!! The service is just as good!!! And yes, I’ve been here numerous times. They have never disappointed! Kudos, Chef Hannes!!!

Love this place. I try to come in at least once a week. Unfortunately the only thing I’ve had is the Kale Salad with Ahi Tuna. It is so good, whenever I think about grabbing lunch here I think of this salad.

Does the trick but nothing extraordinary. I had the spicy sausage pasta. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente but sauce and sausage was equally bland.

Popped in on a weekday for lunch. We were served by the owner, who was courteous, efficient, and accomodating. The sauted sole with angel hair was wonderfully prepared and tasted delicious! Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

Out to lunch with a friend who recommended this place. Walked in and was immediately greeted by a nice gentleman with an accent. Sat and ordered. Food was great & service was excellent. My friend ordered the vegetables soup and tomato-eggplant soup. Both were fantastic. Then she had the chicken salad and I had the Lamb sandwich. Delicious! We also ordered the flourless chocolate cake and the lemon flavored bread pudding! I am hooked!!! Try it for yourself! Happy customer and looking forward to returning…

The perfect place for an intimate & delicious wedding reception. My now-wife and I were on a time crunch to find a restaurant to hold our ~40 guest wedding reception. From the moment we stepped inside Chef Hannes and met the owner(Hannes), we knew it was the perfect place for us. Hannes was very laid back, flexible, and available to talk to during the weeks leading up to the big day. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is very cute, and already has a great ambiance for a romantic dinner or private party. There are multiple options for hosting a party including a large banquet room that fits about 40 people(we had 41), and a back private room that could fit about 8 – 12. Because we held our reception on a Sunday when the restaurant is usually closed, we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Hannes let us bring in decorations in the morning, set up tables how we liked, and put on our own music(on spotify through an iPad). FOOD: Delicious is an understatement! We gave our guests the options of Citrus Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Beef Short Ribs, Chicken Toscana, and Spaghetti Primavera. All the guests raved at how good the food was. Great presentation too! The appetizers and bread/garlic spread are divine! PRICE: You won’t get a better deal for what you get in return. The food, the room, the flexibility, the service… everything was top notch. At the end of the night, when I paid my bill, Chef Hannes told me that I was getting a great deal. I looked at the final bill and was wonderfully surprised! It was about half the cost of some other restaurants that quoted us in the area. And like I mentioned, the quality of the food, service, and overall atmosphere couldn’t be beat! In closing, we are most grateful to Chef Hannes for providing the perfect space to celebrate our wedding day with our closest friends and family. We can’t wait to return to date nights and anniversary dinners in the near future! THANKYOUAGAIN! PS. You can see some images from our wedding in the photos.

As much as Chef Hannes is advertised as Italian and French, their specials of the day were Chicken Curry and Chicken Gumbo. We had both. Chef Hannes know his chicks! Both were delicious. The Chicken Curry was slightly aromatic, as curries should be, and complemented with a great coconut highlight. The Gumbo was a bowl of warm spiciness filled with veggies. Along with such a great meal, I had to have an Expresso to top it off — hot and roasty with nary a hint of spice. The Apple Strudel was ok, nicely presented with a fabulous crust. Next time? Gonna try their Roasted Lamb sandwich.

Neat little gem within walking distance from our abode as well as our favorite watering hole(The Purple Orchid) It’s incredibly priced for what it is and the ambience is charming. Service has always been great and food has never disappointed(pork belly tacos, nuff said)

Chef Hannes is a cute and cozy little Italian spot in El Segundo. Every single time you’re greeted by Chef Hannes himself with an assortment of breads and yummy garlic spread. Great pasta with delicious sauces and flavor. Be sure to have lunch or dinner at this hidden little gem. Chef Hannes himself might even serve you!

I’m starting to believe I don’t have sophisticated taste buds. Seems like a lot of people enjoy this place and we have had good meals in the past but I think the special feeling of this place has passed me by. I had pork chops on this most recent visit and was disappointed in the preparation. They were dry and I had to cut off the edges to just eat the middle. Even then, they were not moist and it was not enjoyable but they were busy and it would have delayed the others at my table if I sent it back for something else. Speaking of that, seems like they only have one server so if it’s busy, you can see how someone could get pulled in too many directions. Hope you have a better experience that we did. Good luck!

Came here on a Friday night around 7:30. There’s plenty of street parking. I made reservations for our party of seven, no problems. The restaurant is pretty big. There is a main dining area, and then a second room adjoining it, a back room, and what looks like to be an outside patio area. Free bread, and garlic avocado pesto olive oil spread? was great. My Frutti di mare(seafood pasta, $ 13.95) was actually surprisingly good, and I have high pretty high standards after going to Italy. Unfortunately we were seated way in the back. I’m not sure why they had to stuff us all the way back there by ourselves, there was plenty of room in the other two dining rooms. The lighting was dim. No music. Very quiet. It seemed a little weird, even amongst our group of close friends. Thank goodness for Spotify. I was able to find a great«Italian Dining» Playlist. Who knew they had such a thing? The waitresses were very polite, but something seemed a little off about them. They didn’t seem to be very inviting and lacking that personable, warm feeling that good waiters/waitresses give off. The ambiance of this play definitely knocked down the score, of an otherwise solid Italian dinner. Overall, just a weird dining experience. Prior to this, all I really cared about was food quality… I didn’t realize what a big part ambiance played in a dining experience until now. I’m not sure if I’d come back, or if I did, I’ll definitely request to sit in the main dining room.

I was at work… but I decided to be a little fancy during lunch. Alcohol relaxes me if it’s in moderate amount… so why not have a glass of wine! I find this cute little Italian Restaurant on main street. I grabbed myself an outside seat since it was nice outside and I called the waiter. This had NOTHING to do with my 5 stars I swear~ But he called me beautiful and took my order~(bat eyes) Anyway, I ordered the pork belly and a glass of Chardonnay. The chilled glass of chardonnay comes out right away and I am sitting outside all relaxed forgetting that I have to go back to work. Then comes this amazing plate of this huge block of fried pork belly on top of a bed of mashed potato, grilled veggies and cauliflower with a slice of watermelon in the middle. Surprisingly the watermelon really freshened the flavor of the fatty pork that should be giving me a heart attack by the end of the meal. Great service, great food, I sure spoiled myself at lunch today!
