Leelin is Goldilock’s on steroids. I was told with the name change, they decided to make their pastries even better than before. I love all their pastries, especially their coco bread which I imagine would work well as French toast. I had it this morning topped with Greek yogurt and jam. I am tempted to buy so many things there. My last trip I bough a loaf of the coco bread, bola bola siopao, ginataan na mais, and mocha mamon. I love this place! It brings me comfort whenever I walk in to see all the goods that reminds me of the Philippines.

I like their lumpiang sariwa but their siningang is way way off. Siningang supposedly sour but theirs is ‘walang asim at walang lasa’

Their food is okay… just okay… I had their beef caldereta, chicken apritada, rice, a side of soup and fresh lumpia. The soup had a hair in it and I told them and they didn’t act surprised nor were they apologetic… so we asked for a different soup. The fresh lumpia didn’t taste so fresh. It was too saucy and it was too sweet. It was quite overwhelming. Never coming back here for their food. I’ve yet to try their cakes.

Woah there Jackie M., good old Goldilocks deserves more than a 1-star. Sometimes it’s hard to compare Filipino dishes, especially when you grew up on the food and are particular to mom’s or Lola’s home good cooking. There’s variations of dishes depending on what region or island your family is from. I wouldn’t hold different tastes against Goldilocks. In a pinch we bought pans of pancit one time, a dish that we can make at home and everyone loved it; including people that also make and know the dish. So in addition to all the family dishes we have at parties we leave pancit up to Leelin’s. I grew up on their cakes and baked goods and still to this day we include something from their store at our family & holiday gattherings. As for cake i love me some San re val(how I do miss those 3 candied flowers though)-cookie meringue layered cake with a ton of butter cream and cashews, so rich that a 1in piece will do you over, even for you sweet tooths. Emsamada with cheese is my favorite bread or pastry. I recently learned that the two mom’s that started Goldilocks more than 50 years ago family name is Leelin so nothings changed with the bakery other than brand name/the logo that is familiar. I must say that customer service is better when you speak the language, but may just be a comfort thing for some, but shouldn’t be.

I went in the afternoon and they didn’t have many options to choose from. There was probably about 6 different entrées to choose from. I ended up deciding to get some palabok. They told me I had to wait five minutes for the sauce which I had no problem with until I started eating my food. The palabok was absolutely tasteless and bland. I might as well haven’t even waited for the sauce because as if there wasn’t sauce on it as well(but the noodles were drowning in it). I use to be a fan of the palabok here but that was when the location was still called Goldilocks. I will not be returning to Leelin(or at least not this location).
