Wait what? Nooooo! Goldilocks can’t be closed, this is the Kababayan Center yo ;( Halo-halo, ensaymada, mamon & Sylvan-like mini sans re val, Brazo de Mercedes, all my favorite. Luckily the closest Goldilocks is still around if you’re looking for their goodies. Check out Seafood City 16130 Nordhoff St in North Hills.

Too bad their delicious food has to suffer from a bad service rating. My story: I ordered a torta as one of my combo items. The server literally cut the last piece in half and gave me only half. I always order torta as one of my combo items, and it always came in a whole piece, even though they’re not super big as it is. Then this woman cut the last one in half? Why??? So she can serve the other half to another customer? Is two unhappy customers better than one very happy customer? An idiot can answer that. I explained that I always get the whole piece, and she says that’s really the portion size, half. Liar!!! If it was intended to be half, it would have already been cut in halves, jerk! This review is the last straw for me. My family has been going to all the Goldilocks restaurants since I was a kid in the 70s. Good-bye.

Goldilocks is a favorite for Filipino baked goods(plus they usually have a restaurant attached). In this case I’m reviewing only the bakery. The staff seemed friendly. Several items were purchased including mamon and a mango cake. All were very good. Whenever we come to LA we must stop at Goldilocks before heading home. If you have a desire for some Filipino baked goods, this is a good place to get them.

Great for sweets but they did not have the cake I was looking for, I think if they put smaller cake sizes for those of us who don’t want the whole cake just a slice.

I bought a small cake for a friends birthday. She loved it and this is all I need to give them 4 stars.

This is definitely one of the larger Goldilocks around. The store is located inside the Filipino grocery store in Van Nuys. They have a section for pastries and a section for savory food. There are tons of seating so you can have your meal there. I have never actually tried the food at Goldilocks since I’ve heard from so many people that their food is not that great. I, however, am a huge fan of their pastries. My favorite definitely has to be the ensaymadas. It’s a soft bread with powdered sugar and cheese on top. The ube variety is the best one. It has sweet purple yam inside. They also have steamed buns called Siopao. You can get the bola bola(meatball) inside or the asado(shredded meat). I actually like both. They sell them frozen in a bag too so you can buy a lot and heat them up at home. I like this Goldilocks because their bread are always more fresh. I have purchased their pan de sal and ensaymadas at other Goldilocks but the bread here is much softer and fresher. I see a huge kitchen in the back so I’m pretty sure they bake everything in house.

Nothing says Filipino pastry like an Ensaymada, and nothing is synonymous to ensaymada like the name«Goldilocks». A true Filipino institution, Goldilocks has been a go to for bread and treats such as Mamon, Polvoron and the aforementioned Ensaymada. No need to go anywhere else.

I only get bakery from here. I love what they bake and make the best halo halo. I go here quite often when I need a fix of sweet treats. Everytime I have an event I go here to purchase Sans Rival. It’s pretty much a butter cake with wedges of waffers. Toss in some pan de sal and some ube and you’re golden. Always had great service and no issues and been going here when it first opened.

Food can be kind of iffy and pricey. I ordered a bowl of arroz caldo(very tasty), mango juice, and ensaymada and paid almost $ 10. Seems pricey for a cafeteria style restaurant. Go for the convenience only.

Pretty disappointed with my experience here. My girlfriend is half Filipino and suggested we go to eat here. I’m no stranger to Filipino food, but this place was awful. The food I got, which I won’t even bother trying to name was horrible. What probably made it 10x worse was the fact that the food was served cold! I mean really? Can’t they make an effort to make sure that their food is warm? Place looked dirty as well and smell fishy also. Oh well, never hurts to try some place new, but I won’t be coming back here.

Been going to a goldilocks all my life for their cakes and baked goods, but this was only the second time i’ve ever eaten here. Arroz Caldo with 2 siopaos. Not bad, about $ 4 for a full breakfast. I actually really enjoyed the Arroz Caldo, I could barely finish one siopao. Also had a pancit palabok, forgot what the other dish was called but it was like a pork melaga. I liked that a lot, came with a side of soup and rice. Large eating area, next to an Island Pacific(which contains 2 more fast filipino eateries).

For your fresh vegetable wrap/spring roll(Fresh LUmpia), this is the place to go! Their sauce it what makes it stand out from others’. I consider their sotanghon(glass noodles) a comfort food. This is what I grew up eating. Yes, it is greasy. And yes, I’ll probably die when Im 45 but at least I’ll die happy. Their Sansrival is without rival! Get it? See, coz«sans» is french for«without»??? no? oh well, you can add«corny» to my list of faults! Used to have the best halo halo in southern california until Max’s. Thank you Margaret for repeatedly trying to point that out. You have convinced me!

Personally I like the food here compared to other fast food filipino food joints. I personally like their bistek better than other places. They also serve really good arozcaldo in my opinion. Other than that I don’t really eat any other meat dishes. Everything is way too traditional for my palette and liking. The baked goods are definitely much better tasting than Red Ribbons. My favorite is their Taisan! The restaurant is inside a tiny mall with a grocery store. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious with seating almost everywhere. The one thing I don’t like is that it seems a bit grungy in my opinion. It gives sort of that cafeteria feel. Also I don’t like that the prices for their food is a bit expensive compared to other places. 5 pieces of hopia cost 5 bucks. I mean I can go somewhere else and find something reasonable! I mean the hopia is good but not worth the 5 bucks, lol.

This is the quintessential place to get you Filipino goodies! Sure, it can be pricey at times but when it’s for a special occassion we Filipinos will splurge. They have yummy cakes — mango, mocha, etc. Normally I like the roll cakes but the round cakes are yummy too. You gotta try their enseymada too! It’s a bun with cheesy sweet goodness all over it. LOL ;) They do have food here too but I hardly ever eat here. Most of the times I get my food to go. Seriously they have the best sotanghon(glass noodles) ever. We love getting it here. Also, they have really good fresh lumpia(eggroll). It’s full of veggies and I always feel ultra healthy when I eat it. :) Bring this stuff to any Filipino party and it’s such a crowd pleaser. :) yippee! Let me know and I’m sooo there.

The only thing I had here was a mamon(get your minds out of the gutter fuckers) it’s a filipino spongecake. It was really good, but it seemed really rich. Good nonetheless, there were a lot of appetizing goodies in the case, so next time i’m in the area i’m stopping.

The food, most times, are good, but then there are times there isn’t a lot of choices to choose to eat. I gave it four stars for their bakery. If you haven’t tried their Halo Halo dessert, I RECOMMEND you do. Maybe I’m biased because I grew up eating Halo Halo, plus I’m half Filipino. Another special thing you should try is their Ube cake. A great filipino treat for sure.

3 stars for my niece’s yummy chocolate birthday cake from Goldilocks in Panorama City!!! It was bomb!!! :) I usually get tired of the same old cake every year, but this time it was so satisfying! :) I can’t give 5 stars because when I was at home sick, my older brother also brought me a «tapsilog» meal(cuz he knows how I am when I’m sick!) and it wasn’t good… sorry Goldilocks! But I do love your chocolate cake! :P
