The torta de tinga is way more flavorful than it looks. It’s spicy, balanced, and packed with plenty of shredded chicken stew, black beans, avocado, and other goodness. Flavor like this is normally not found in L.A. establishments. This is a dive but worth it. I’m not sure about other items, but this sandwich is what I recommend. Must love spicy food.

Googled for a place near my location at the time and this came up. Unilocal reviews were good and I checked the menu and it sure sounded tasty. Drove over, found a parking space out on the street(then saw a «parking in back» sign). Not very crowded for about 2pm on a Saturday. A few tables, not all full and VERY clean. The nice lady at the counter helped me maneuver the menu. Not a lot of selections, but enough. Chose the super nachos with asada. Very tasty. Certainly more than enough — huge portion. The pictures previously posted are true to the product. Soggy chips when I got home. No clue how to keep that from happening. Nice jalapeños, plenty of asada & cheese and pico. Made some selections from the salsa bar. I didn’t love the choices, but not bad. I’ve got about ¾ of my nachos left. I would say definitely worth it for $ 7.50. Wish they sold a ½ order. Would be good for a family to munch along with something else. I will go back to try those tortas.

Went here regardless of the ridiculous name. It’s actually more authentic than you’d expect. It has typical Mexican food at low prices. I’d recommend stopping in if you want a good torta with flavorful salsa.

Always a favorite. I’m a sucker for the carne asada torta; it’s damn good. Various types of salsa to suit your tastes(it’s an important condiment). Fast & friendly service, plus a casual atmosphere. Easily one of my top places to grab a meal.

Well I am not gonna complain about the food, I will just say that I’ve had better. I enjoyed the beans and rice along with the cold Coke. The reason for the 3 stars is for the customer service. It was fast and friendly. I was greeted with a big smile when I walked in and the woman already knew my order before I even spoke, very impressive. Anyway, they say you can’t knock it until you’ve tried it and I tried it. So go figure.

MAJORDISAPPOINTMENT!!! Came in based on other Unilocalers reviews and left dissatisfied and feeling hungry. First off I got the Carne Asada torta and the carne asada was non existent! There were a few pieces of meat that was it. All you could really taste was the bread and the lettuce, tomato, & avocado but no meat! It came with a side of chips that were cold and all oily. Would I be back here again? Definitely not!

Always great service and delicious food. I always get their torta de asada or de carnitas. The green salsa is delicious.

This place had wonderful customer service but the food was absolutely terrible. We had the tortAs and taco al sada with sope de al pastor. They used shredded yellow americAn cheese I saw this place on Unilocal and it had 4 stars and I was so disappointed after reading how people rambled on about the tortAs and chips. They were not pleasant at all. I think my favorite part of my meal was my soda and even that I had a few sips of because I had to go on a search for some place else to fill my craving. Sorry super taco your a duper taco

This is my go-to, post late night work meal. This is one of those restaurants that feels like home. Whatever that means. I’ve tried everything from the tacos to the tortas to the burritos, and have never been disappointed. The beans and rice are quality and the portions are huge. This is my go to spot for Mexican food in general. They got the go-to drinks like Orange Bang and Horchata too. Employees are real nice and they got a salsa bar which is a plus. Prices are fair, parking is ample, futbol is on the TV, what more do you need? I could see how other reviewers could come here and be like«This isn’t anything special.» I’d tell em to GTFO and go eat at some more hyped restaurant, if I didn’t want to drive away customers to a deserving business. :)

I’ve been driving past El Super Taco for years and have always wondered what was behind those doors. Today, I decided to listen to the voice in my head and give them a try. I was blown away how fantastic my lunch was, the Asada Torta was out of this world, the beef was cooked perfectly, the bread was toasted and super crispy, cheese, avocado, jalapeños, salsa, onions, amazing! I also had the chicken taquitos, really crispy, the chicken was nice and moist, lots of cheese and guacamole, a total winner. Their homemade chips were fantastic and they have a great salas bar. I can’t wait to try their nachos, they look like a full meal!

I quickly ran down the street as soon as I read my fellow Unilocaler Jessica saying that the chips here are the best she’s had! Like I said, I came running for these chips, but also to satisfy my obsessive secret love for tortas. When I walked in the door I was a bit disoriented wondering if this was a sit down, or casual because I didn’t see any menus on the wall. But that was quickly remedied by the cashier whom have me a menu to order from. I love how casual this place is, it’s very clean too. I picked out a few things on the menu to ask which one was better, the cashier conversed with the cook to help me out. They also recommended another torta(the most expensive one) along with one I chose, haha nice try, don’t think so. I ended up getting the Torta Cubana. Before I sat down and waited for my food my eyes feasted on the salsa bar, how exciting that was! That green avocado like sauce is to DIE for. It’s so freaking good. The first thing to come was a VERY small plate of chips, but I didn’t say anything, I just wanted to try one! And oh my god when I did, it was phenomenal. Just brilliant. It was super crispy and the texture was everything. What. A. Chip. Especially with that green sauce. The pico de gallo was alright, I make better. As a disgustingly finish that small plate of chips with haste, my torta came, and guess what, WITHMORECHIPS. It was just beautiful. To be quite honest, I’ve only ever had steak tortas, and when I got this torta, the ham freaked me out. I guess by default tortas are made with ham? It’s cool, I’ll adjust. When I took my first bite of the torta without modifying it, it’s wasn’t bad. It had tomatoes, avocados, and a lot of other nice ingredients going for it. But it just wasn’t flavorful enough for me, just a tiny bit bland. Some other reviews say it’s salty, but mine was bland. But you know what? It was still pretty good, WHEN I DRENCHEDITINTHATLIMEGREENSAUCE. The bread for the torta is also panini pressed, which I’m indifferent about, it’s good and crumbles to the bite, but I kind of like the fluffiness of a traditional torta. My meal was $ 7 which was a good deal. Overall a good experience with good service, will be coming back for other things to try. Hopefully this will become my favorite Hispanic joint that’s down the street.

El Super taco is a great place the atmosphere is good and the staff is great, they have a salsa bar they have the best burritos hands down! Usually you get either quantity or quality, but here the burritos are huge and they are amazingly good. The Wet Burrito I had here was well seasoned definitely recommend this place. Keep it up Super taco.

Some of the best tortilla chips I’ve EVER had. Great salsa bar, too. I wanted to try the Torta Cubana but the mention of ham kinda grossed me out. The menu also lists bean paste on this bad boy… and that word«paste» just wasn’t doin’ it for me. Got a veggie burrito but since the tortilla wasn’t cooked enough(to my liking, anyway), I just opened it up and scooped out the bits with my new favorite chips! Kinda spendy here; a couple bucks cheaper would’ve def earned them another star. My boyz over at Oaxaca on Wheels(Santa Monica Blvd., in front of Chase Bank) charge less for a veggie mix and add proper Oaxacan cheese. But they don’t open ’til 6:30pm…

I’ve only had their Super Burrito con pollo(chicken). It was excellent! The burrito came with red sauce on one end and green sauce on the other… great idea, huh? I’m not gonna lie, it was heavy though. Anyway, not much to expand on here… I’d probably give El Super Taco 5 stars had I’d tried more items. **Oh yeah, red beans and rice were delicious too.

El Super Taco… How are you so delicious?! Not sure why it took me so long to review El Super Taco, but it is one of my all time favorite Mexican Restaurants. To put things into perspective, I LOVEMEXICANFOOD and spent most of my college days trying to find a good place to call home. El Super Taco was home for me. But WHY?! Lets break it down my two favorites Tortas: This is the bread and butter(Pun intended) of El Super Taco. Their tortas are unreal. It all really come down to the bread and the cheese. The bread after being toasted is crispy and virtually falls apart in your mouth as you bite into one of these sandwiches. What keeps it together is melted Mexican string cheese. both work well together and paired with the meat filling(I’d go with Carne Asada personally) and some salsa and onions from the salsa bar is AWESOME. The orange habanero mixed with the green salsa is my favorite. Its just too good dudes. Too good. Super Nachos: Although it was the tortas that got me hooked, it was the Super Nachos that bring me back every time. The plate is LARGE and you get a lot of nachos. The super nachos(Get the Carne Asada, although the chicken is good too) is made up of meat, guacamole, sour cream, beans and cheese. BUT don’t get too content. Go over to that salsa bar and add your own lime, onions, and salsa of your choosing. I think it’s literally magical. BUTWAIT the magic doesn’t stop there. you’ll be eating those nachos and thinking jeez, I’ve been eating for like 20 mins and how are these chips still crispy? No clue, but I’m not complaining. The chips are thick and therefore they manage to stay crispy through your whole meal. I know all of that above sounds ridiculous, but having moved away from LA3 years ago, I literally dream about Super Nachos and go back every time I go home to SoCal. Enjoy and let me know what you think! Happy Eating Friends. Stay Hungry ;)

Trying to conquer all the Mexican restaurant near my office. Food I ordered the three taco combo. It comes with rice, beans, three tacos, a side of chips and a drinks for about $ 10 dollars. They have a great salsa bar selection. Tacos. I asked if they were small and I was told no. So perfect. I ordered the combo without onions. When I received my order and walked back to work, I was ready to dig in. To my surprise, the tacos were three mini tacos and had caramelized onions. No big deal. Took them off and salsa upped my tacos. When I bit into the tacos you can taste the mass amount of sodium. It was soooooo salty. The beans and rice were average. The chips had no flavor. Maybe they can take some of the salt used on the meat and sprinkle into the chips. I will be going back to this place to try out the tortas & burrito in hopes of a better experience. Advice. If you are going to try this place out, be ware this is a busy intersection. Look for parking on the streets. Major construction going on.

I always feel so guilty giving a whole in the wall Mexican joint a low score. Is that Mexican guilt? Anywho I came in for a torta while the BF got a sope. I should have known it wasn’t going to blow me away when everyone inside was white. But it’s also west LA so I let it slide. Yea my torta was way too crispy. The bread tasted so stale and old it was gross. I couldn’t even eat half of it. But looking at the menu I guess they are known for«toasted tortas.» But they should really say crunchy tortas bc it’s not a regular toasted torta bread that people would expect. Maybe ill come back to try something else but I doubt it. They have parking in the back.
