The food here is poor. The restaurant is dirty and flies circle the meat market. I’m glad I didn’t get sick. I got enchiladas and they tasted terrible. I won’t be back, ever. Oh by the way, dont get a special that comes with a drink. They will charge you for the drink in addition to the combo. Crooks.

I stopped by today and got the Flamante Burrito. The service was good, décor a bit dated and sad. The food was just okay. The chips were stale and other than the red sauce on the burrito, it didn’t have much taste.

I was so hungry and ready to eat anything with a tasty flavor. I ordered green chilaquiles with egg, but the chilaquiles were very salty, That happens when you over boil the green salsa or they either forgot that they already put salt so they added more. I complained to the restaurant owner and his answer was: «ok I will check,» without even looking at me, and that was his only answer. He didn’t even try to apologize. I wasn’t expecting to get anything for free or a replacement for my food. My concern is, what kind of service should be expected from that restaurant when you have that type of answer from the restaurant’s owner. That means they’ve lost a customer.

Guy behind the counter was super friendly. I got the Flamante Burrito which is about $ 7. and I think the most expensive thing on the menu. It was pretty darn good. Chicken inside was super tender and tasty. Got 2 asada tacos as well. The asada was a little off. But I’ve found that chicken is the most consistently tasty and hard-to-mess-up thing so it’s my go-to when visiting holes in walls. Sure beats the $ 14 burritos across the street.

I’ve come here a few times, but the service is terrible. I love their Torta de quesillo, but I won’t be coming anymore. I’ve had enough of that Hispanic blonde cashier lady staring at me when I order. She doesn’t say hello, nor thank you. She must really hate her job. Not that this place needs my business to stay open, but it’s good to know that I have other options, I now go to La Salsa down the street on Pico.

Yesterday was the first time and the last that I will eat in Tacos La Flama. I tried the asada Burrito and the nachos with asada and the quality and taste of the meat was terrible. The tortilla chips were good and tasty, but the meat and the cheese were awful.

Quick search on Unilocal yielded this nearby place. I was in the mood for some tacos. No frills no thrills place. But good comfort food, and they have Mexican sweet bread. This was a pleasant surprise. This a divey, hole in the wall kinda place. Not bad on a pinch.

My mind kept running and running thinking what was I going to eat for lunch. I was close to work and decided to get subway. Well, next to subway there was two other small restaurants. I remember reading a review where someone recommended to go to the place next door you haven’t tried. I took his advice. I parked right in front of subway and it was the only spot. The parking lot is shared with 3 restaurants and a mattress store. There are about 9 parking spots for all of these. I walked in and was looking around. The cashier told me to come in. I was looking at the menu and I didn’t know what to get. The cashier mentioned on Sundays they have menudo(Mexican soup made with beef stomach in broth with a red chili pepper base.). That sounded good, but it was a bit pricey. I asked to see the«to go cup» they put it in. It was small and it cost about $ 9. I asked him what else did he recommend. He was about to say something when I notice a girl getting her order. It was a huge burrito with red salsa on top of it. The cook cut it in half and poured more salsa on top. It smelled and looked so good. I immediately told him I wanted that. He laughed and said he was going to recommend it. He told me they have it in pork, chicken, or beef. I chose beef(carne asada). It was about $ 8. I asked if they could put the salsa on the side because I didn’t want my burrito to get soggy on my way to work. He said no problem. It took about 5 minutes for my order to be ready. I sat in the dining area and there was about 4 people eating. They all seemed to enjoy the food. I noticed they have a carniceria(google translated to butcher shop). They also sell Mexican bread next to the entrance. They have a salsa bar and all the salsas were full. There was no small containers to put the salsa in. I realized he gives them to you when you order your food. When I got my order the cashier said to enjoy my lunch with a smile. He was very friendly and had great customer service skills. When I finally tried the burrito it was so good. It was really big too. I ate half and left the other half for later. It had a lot of guacamole. I love avocado so that was a big plus. They weren’t stingy about it either. I felt it in every bite. The salsa wasn’t spicy. I got three salsas from the salsa bar. The green one, a red one and a black one. The green one was good, but I really liked the black one. None of them where hot for me. It did give the burrito an extra touch. They also weren’t greedy with the carne asada. It was loaded with beef. I enjoyed the burrito and they made me feel welcomed. The only«bad thing» I had forgotten to mention was that the order came with chips. That’s not the bad part. I was so hungry that on my way to work I decided to start munching on them. I started to eat one and it was stale. It felt like the chips you leave open and they get all nasty. I ended up throwing the chips away. I hope they find a way to keep them fresh and crunchy. I give them 4 stars for the amazing service and because of the bomb burrito I ate.

I“ve been going here on and off for 11 years. Their prices are very reasonable, and I’ve only tried a few items. The avocado burrito is very good, and the cheese quesadilla is very good, and reasonable around $ 4.75. The owners and staff are very friendly, and this is very much a neighborhood restaurant. The only thing that separates this place from Eduardo’s and Baja Bud’s is that the ingredients are not to the level of the others. Still, very reasonable!

Out of al pastor. Pollo and carnitas tacos were bland and watery. Cabeza was tough and portion was small. Plate came covered in tortilla chips I had to pick out of the tacos. Horchata was thin and lacking cinnamon.

This place is walking distance from my house so when I’m craving a refried bean burrito this is my go to. This is more of the place that you go to when there’s nothing else and when you just want a burrito. I like the bean and cheese burrito and the chorizo burrito is bomb. Their salsa is good too! It’s a little more pricey than taco miendo and definitely not as homemade or fresh. In fact I don’t think anything is really homemade. All store bought and reheated. At least for the burritos. But I love burritos and am too lazy to cook so this works for me. Although I always feel uncomfortable going in there because the guys that work there are weird and undress me with their eyes but I just put on my best bitch face. Ahh the things I’ll do for a burrito.

Come for the flamante burrito, stay for everything else! No joke though, that burrito is incredible. The hard tacos are the other stars of the show… the soft tacos I had were good but not great. And the chile relleno burrito, while fine, wasn’t the best I’ve had either. But yeah, that burrito, man…

It is within walking distance and open kinda late so two stars for that. The food was terrible, both times. I first time i went, i got the wet burrito as it was recommended to me. It was cold and soggy like it just came out of a microwave. They dont make burritos at chipotle this fast so something seems kinda awkward here. The chicken burrito i got had the same issue cold and soggy. Also the meat section in the back looks super sketchy avoid at all costs.

La Flama has a standard Mexican menu. This place is authentic, inexpensive and yummy. Anything on the menu is tasty. The salsa bar features four different salsas and all four are flavorful. In addition to the usual array of soft drinks, they have Orange Bang. The staff is always friendly. Downside is the parking for this hole-in-the-wall. This place is perfect for a quick bite when you are out and about on the Westside.

I work very close to here, so this is my go-to breakfast burrito spot. Best Breakfast Burrito in the area. If you haven’t had a BB with refried beans instead of hash browns, you’re in for a treat. Correction: I gave this 5 stars before I realized that«La Flama» is actually referring to what will come out of your bottom after you eat their burrito. I got food poisoning from them. Good burrito until it was time to come out.

I came across an ambitious blog at where, over a period of time, the writer«El Bandini»(AKA Bandini X. on Unilocal: ) was once dedicated to seeking out L.A.‘s best tacos. As I continued to browse the blog, including Tacos La Flama’s featured post, my S.O. landed us a parking space at the corner strip on Pico/Barrington, so we decided to pop in on this little taqueria to split what we hoped would be some delicious food: Tacos(Carnitas and Al Pastor) — The flavors were right and ingredients felt fresh. The pork was maybe a little dry on the straight-up carnitas, but it was nothing a little salsa couldn’t fix. The al pastor was particularly good, but it is possible we were definitely in the mood for it. Enchilada and Tamal(Pollo) — This combo is served on a divided styrofoam plate and comes with your choice of fountain soda. I’m not too keen on the styrofoam, but, we’re not eating the plates. Tamal was only offered with chicken, presumably because they were out of other flavors for the day, so we opted for chicken over plain cheese for the enchilada as well. We were a little disappointed we weren’t able to mix-and-match the meats, but the red sauce-covered combo was tasty overall. Although the enchilada was pretty straightforward, the fragrant tamal had a distinctively flowery aroma and spicy taste. Chips, rice and beans were there, too… welcome and decent extras, but we probably could have done without them. Sundry info — VISA, MasterCard and cash only. Spanish CNN is shown on the tube above a baked goods case, and there are seven four-seater tables with a few extra chairs to go around. Strangely, the seats felt a little sticky, but I’m pretty sure it was because they had recently been wiped down with some kind of soap. I guess cleanliness is next to stickiness at this place. Tacos La Flama didn’t make it into any of El Bandini’s top taco lists, but I found it appealing, if not quite award-winning. The location is casual and convenient, the restaurant boasts its own butcher counter, and the uniquely flavored food they serve is fast and affordable. We’ll be back on another hungry night to delve deeper into the menu options or at least to order some of that cesina El Bandini recommended for cooking at home.

My favorite mexican spot in this vicinity — tacos are not as good as don antonios, but the value here is greater. For $ 7 you get a FULL meal, and actually the burrito combo cannot be beat, it’s great. The owner is incredibly nice too. Good place to eat and read, which I like to do. Ambience is not the best, but hey, dollar for dollar this place is a winner.
