Awful burgers! I asked for medium and it came out dry, bland with no seasoning and had a weird funk… Did the meat go bad? I don’t know but it was sooo disappointing that a $ 13 burger could be so damn bad. I’ve never had an awful burger in socal. I noticed people giving it great reviews all had pancakes or something else. But as a diner and with so few ingredients, how do you screw up a burger?! DON’T ORDERTHEBURGER

A great place to get a quick meal. Typical diner food, which is always little bit more expensive than you think it would be. We came late at night like at 10pm with a party of 15 and it was excellent service. They were fast, friendly, and helpful. Had never been here prior, but would be fine with coming back! I got the roasted potatoes and some soup. :) It hit the spot.

Sweet location and open 24⁄7 but parking can get nuts so be prepared to circle the lot a couple of times before nabbing a spot. Sometimes there can be a wait but we got lucky and were seated immediately for a Sunday morning — just get there early enough. We love love love breakfast so we opted to share french toast and the Denver omelet. The french toast was so good and I think it’s attributed to the type of bread they use. They also serve the same bread with the omelet and it was tasty enough by itself. The omelet had plenty of bacon and other fresh ingredients. The hash browns on the side were a letdown; I like my hashbrowns nice and crispy but these were mushy. I would totally come back to try the pancakes and benedicts. Also be sure to save room for other local goods you’ll find in the farmer’s market that it’s attached to.

This is one of the best restaurants in the market. All the food is delicious and the service is great. I travel a lot and this place has the best Monte Cristo sandwich I have ever had

Decent food, vastly over priced. Wondering what is exactly so great, other than it’s open 24 hrs.

I’ve been here twice so I can confirm the deliciousness from the first visit wasn’t a fluke. Get breakfast, ANYTIMEOFTHEDAY. That’s right, delicious artery clogging breakfast 24⁄7. ‘MURICA! Steak and eggs — you’re expecting Denny’s and BAM its like eating mom’s home cooked delicousness. The hash browns are fried to a wonderful crisp in real butter. They don’t mess around with healthy EVO oil here. The steak is USDA Prime Harris ranch. Seriously, you expect a dried chewy pile but what you get is a Mastro worthy cut(ok, slight exaggeration there). The pancakes — huge stack of soft fluffy yumminess. They give you a container of syrup and melted clarified butter, the REAL stuff. No low fat I can’t believe it’s not butter crap. Like I said, they don’t mess around here. Hell even the chicken and salmon dishes are good. The service is damn good too! And the best part?! You can get this 24⁄7.

Thank God they are re-opening in downtown. For my girlfriend it’s the Welsh Rarebit. For me it’s the best pancakes on the planet. There were times late night when I needed a pick me up and all I could think about were those pancakes. Fortunately they were open all night so I could indulge my craving. And then finish it off with one of their delicious pies(try the Apple). Docked one star for the sometimes inconsistency in the Rarebit sauce which sometimes comes out runny and missing the cheese flavor. And also for closing the location near me.

A fabulous waitress, BT, recommended the pancakes. OMG!!! WAYTOGOOD. I woke up dreaming about going back for more. And I usually do not like pancakes. Also tasted my friends salmon with grilled vegies. Really, really, really good. Got to go back soon. Thanks.

Went to the one in Las Vegas and got hooked on those magical cakes of pan. Eggs also, idk what they do to them but they’re vastly superior to any other eggs.

Great old fashion diner. Love their sandwiches and malts. And their pancakes are great with their jellys that are super good. Fresh squeeze orange juice. Service its ok.

Poor service. Waiter barely waited on me. Took 20 minutes for the waiter to get my food to me. Noticed that my food had been sitting on the chef’s counter the whole time. In the meantime, a couple who sat way after I did was served their food on time. Had to give my waiter«the look» to remind him to check on my food. Other customers were asked by this same waiter, before ordering, if they wanted water while I had to specifically ask for mine in the middle of eating my meal. And he didn’t bother to refill my glass when it was empty. After I was done eating, I asked for my check. Waiter said he’ll get it right away, yet proceeded to chat with his fellow waiters. I had to give him another«look» for him to realize that I was getting impatient. For his«service», I left my waiter a well-deserved zero gratuity. As for the food, I ordered the corned beef hash, two egg, and hash brown breakfast with wheat toast and a side of single pancake. The hash was too salty, eggs are, well, eggs, the wheat bread tasted old and was crumbling. The pancake was average but the hash browns were actually decent. TL;DR Left no tip for a non-attentive waiter and the food was just average.

I’ve been to this location twice and had breakfast both times. The breakfast is really good. I ordered the short stack combo #1 and the pancakes are to die for. I don’t think I’ve ever had pancakes this good. I added two scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Everything was very good down to the coffee and orange juice. Be careful of peak times it gets very crowded and the staff can get overwhelmed. Our waiter wasn’t the friendliest, but we had a large party and the place was packed so I won’t judge this place solely on his attitude. Parking is a nightmare so don’t expect to pull right up. It’s connected to the farmers market and the Grove so there is plenty to do and see after you enjoy breakfast.

*This review is only on the Boysenberry pie* I can only tell you that I’m a huge boysenberry fan. Fresh by itself, in salads & in my drinks. One thing I absolutely do know is great pies. This mini boysenberry pie that I’m eating at this very moment, is the very best I’ve ever eaten. This spoon is not leaving my hand until all i see is empty silver aluminum tin. Please doctors, forgive me. I am so thankful I chose this one over the pecan, another one of my favorites. If you can only choose one pie, and enjoy fruit pies… I suggest getting the boysenberry!!!

I consider myself a pancake expert and these are the best I’ve ever had. The«small stack» is actually three rather large ones, so if you order them be prepared to take some home or you can split them with someone. The service was much better this time, but they can get busy so be patient.

FOURSTARSFORTHEHOTCAKES! I have been wanting some pancakes so I hit up Dupars with my daughter. She ordered the French toast and I ordered the pancakes and man where they good. Now the coffee, meh. I would pass next time. My daughter didn’t really enjoy her frenchtoast she said it was really eggie. whatever that means.lol.to much egg batter. However, she devoured my hotcakes! I really liked the fact that they offered turkey products with breakfast. If you want some pancakes give this place a try. The service was good and seating was fast. Parking is in the farmers market so be sure to park there if you want validation. NOTTHEGROVE.

Came here on Thursday night with my friend for coffee and chit-chat. As one is wont to do, on a chilly autumn weeknight :) I ordered fried zucchini with a cup of coffee. Why not? I was heading to an improv show afterwards. I figured the fried food would offset any impending mandatory drink.(And it did!) The fried zucchini was steaming hot. Plus, if you’ve ever cooked with zucchini before(as I have), you know that as it cooks, the moisture comes out.(It’s why you ought to dry out zucchini slices with a salt rub and let them sit for half an hour or so before using them to make a zucchini lasagna — otherwise all that liquid seeps out during the cooking process and it makes everything watery). Well. As it turns out, that pent-up moisture is scalding hot when released from, say, a crispy fried coating of parmesan-y goodness. It burns. So good. Our waitress was great. She made sure our coffee cups were full, and was just darling all around.

What’s all this nonsense about the best pancakes ever?! Best pancakes? I don’t necessarily agree with it. The again, I’m not too huge a fan of pancakes. Although this place does a decent job at best, the atmosphere was so off for me. I seriously, for the life of me, could NOT get over their carpet. It was hideous. Why have they not changed that shiet?! It’s so tacky; a total turn-off for me. So I advise against going on any dates there. Actually, now that I think about it, I’m not sure why anyone would go on a date there… It’s just a late night place to hit up after a bar or club with friends. I don’t think I would return, but it is a 24 hour spot which, sadly, seems to be pretty rare in LA.

(This review is for the pancakes and pies only.) Ended up at Du-Par’s at 3am on a Friday night. My friend and I have had a hankering for some blueberry pie for awhile now. So out of late night/early morning hunger we made our way to the Grove for just that, as well as the famed pancakes. Boy, are the reviews right about this one!!! The pancakes are huge, fluffy and scrumptiousssss! Even better, they’re served with hot melted butter and hot syrup! Haven’t had this good of a regular pancake in a minute. We also ordered the blueberry cream pie… And damn bruh. Every layer of the pie was perfect. From the sweet crumbly crust, to whipped cream & blueberry compote. This place hits it out of the park with these two. I can’t wait to go back for round 2 and the other flavors. Update: tried two more flavors of pie: strawberry cream and pecan… This place sure knows how to make an amazing pie! You cannot go wrong with that crumbly crust. I could eat it for daysss
