Came in for my daily coffee fix after stopping by the apple store to get my laptop fixed. Not crowded at all, however the cashier seemed to be in a unhappy mood due to the customer before that commented that her drink tasted really bitter. After taking my order with an irritated face she then went towards the back by her coworkers to gossip. Felt the staff could have been more professional and not so obvious with their irritation with the comment from the other customer.

Unfortunately, because I worked at a coffee bean for quite a few years, this was far below standards. The energy was very low. We were never greeted or received a smile from any of the baristas and the communication between the staff was off. It was just not that great of an experience.

Was having a wonderful experience at The Grove and decided to get something hot to drink on that cold night. My boyfriend opens the door. About 5 people come out and not one of them bothers to say ‘thank you’! .Just had to get that off my chest, sorry. xP Waited in line for a bit and noticed a fly in the food display. yuck. Ordered 2 drinks from an unfriendly employee. Didn’t greet us, smile, or anything. Felt like we were bothering her by ordering! Ordered a caramel latte that had a great caramel flavor. Overall, the drinks were good and warmed us up, but the customer service and environment was definitely a dud.

This shit is so gross here Their working environment is disgusting and dirty They don’t wash or clean the portafilter so each espresso is dirty Af, Unsanitary, and has sucky shots because of it. I got my iced mocha and they didn’t melt the choco powder so all I drank was powder. But they remade it for me. The coffee sucks too it tastes so burnt and dirty. Just go to Starbucks for better sucky cheap coffee. At least Starbucks isn’t dirty.

If I could give zero stars I would. I went in and ordered and iced latte and a small latte. Well the rude KID(edvin) making the coffee gives me a mocha latte(a latte with chocolate) I told him I ordered a latte not a mocha. He gives me an attitude. Again he remakes the wrong drink and gives it to me with an attitude. I asked to speak with the manager and let him know that the last thing I need when trying to start my day is an attitude by the kid making my coffee. As I pointed out the kid who was giving me an attitude, the kid had the nerve to wink at me twice while I was giving my complaint to the manager, I told the manager what the kid was doing and he did nothing to correct him. It is unacceptable to let your employees treat customers in a harassing and condescending manner. This kid needs to be reprimanded. His name again was Edivin, so if you are looking for an attitude with your coffee please stop by here.

The ice blended chai made me sad. The dark chocolate mocha did not.

Your standard coffee bean located inside the Grove. It’s really small and you won’t find a lot of space to sit inside(just seats facing outside the window) but they did have some tables with umbrellas outside. Nothing special — overall just a coffee/tea shop if you need a little treat while you’re shopping.

No more discounts for«Good Neighbor» employees? That was a good incentive to keep us coming to you over your nearby competitor. I won’t be coming to you for coffee any more.

Being a former barista of Coffee Bean, this is not a pleasant location. After being rudely treated by the girl on register, the barista did not even make the drink the way I had asked, and I am not a difficult customer knowing the difficulties of being a barista myself. Do not visit, this is the second time I have been here and am even more disappointed this time than I was the last.

I am moving away and will miss all these lovely young people. They have always been warm friendly and a super wait staff. Beside the coffee being better than the competitor.

I love this coffee bean. Not only because they stay open until 11 after a night of shopping or watching a movie but also because of the service! Everyone has always been very helpful but Navid in particular has always gone above and beyond to the point I want to recognize him. He’s not only extremely friendly but gives great recommendations! I thought he was one of the managers as he is extremely helpful and knowledgable! Thanks coffee bean!

Plain and simple, Manager, please retrain your employees on courtesy and basic customer service 101. They deal with the public and your presentation counts, as it either keeps us happy and returning for more coffee and treats or completely abandon you for the other chain across the market. There are a couple of great employees there, but some of your employees exhibit a lackadaisical attitude and are blatantly rude to customers. I like CBTL and want to return. Literally have experienced better service.

Small space but that’s ok. They’ve done a good job overall layout wise with what they have. Order your coffee, get in, and get out. The question is what would it take for me to give them 4 or 5 stars? For me, the next level would be the little things. That little extra that separates them not just from other stores in the area but from other coffee beans. Some tangible examples can be more empathy — a saw confused people get in line and not sure what was going on and then they were rushed. It was messy(almost dropped my elbow on a pool of coffee on the table behind me). I get it though, only so much you can do quickly with the patrons and we’re all human. But if it was that one thing I wouldn’t complain but it wasn’t. It had a frazzled energy. Other tangible opinions would be if I get my drink, I would love to be given the straw and/or napkin right then and there instead of having me yet again scour the area for straws. ] No harm, no foul, but no little things either.

Visiting from out of town. I ordered the Iced Blood Orange Sweet Tea and it was freaking delicious! I had fast and efficient service. I barely sat down before they called my name because my drink was ready. They do not, however, validate parking because as the barista said, «The Farmers Market side validates». Whatever that means. Either way good times.

I have been going to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf since i was young, the LA original for ice blended drinks. The coffee and tea are imho much better than Starbucks and feels less institutional. Note they are Kosher so no meat products here only tuna, salmon and egg. one of them up on Beverly Blvd even feature milk from Israel. The coffee doesnt have the Starbuck burnt taste. The mud slide is by far my favorite cold blended drink, but for tea lovers both hot and cold check out the Cherry Blossom ice Tea. Perhaps the thing that draws me most here is that it is in a spot unlike any other in our wonderful city. Right on the promenade between the Grove and Farmers Market. For a town with such great weather i often wonder why there are not more places like this to enjoy the energy of the crow, people watch and take in the full flavor of our town– but suffice to say this IS the spot for that and with a great ice tea, an afternoon is comlete

I visited The Grove with a friend, and we had to go get a drink to validate our Farmer’s Market parking, so we hopped into The Coffee Bean. I always get the exact same thing at Coffee Bean: The Vanilla Ice… thing. I can’t even remember what it’s called. Anyway, while I was ordering, I had the same brain fart and just literally could not ask the cashier what I wanted. I kept saying«That um, vanilla ice thing, you know?» And instead of judging me(like i was doing to myself), the cashier laughed it off and said, «Oh! You mean the Vanilla Ice Blend?» And I was like YEAH. That one! And I also requested her to make it less sweet, to which she obliged. My friend got a hot café latte. Can’t really go wrong with that. We walked to the end of the store and tried to solve the daily riddle they have up on the chalkboard – nope. Couldn’t get that. My friend went to grab a pack of sugar, and the barista who was making her drink noticed that she was holding a pack of sugar. He came out and offered to put it in the drink for her, so that she wouldn’t have to mix it! Isn’t that nice? No one has ever offered me that! I thought that was so sweet and observant. As we walked out, both the barista and cashier called to us and wished us a good evening. That was nice too. It was a clean and friendly café, with good customer service and good drinks. I hope they’ve been reading the reviews on Unilocal and are taking some of the criticism into mind – and if they are, good job! Because I didn’t notice anything terrible about this location whatsoever.

It is easy to get dehydrated at Grove or Farmers Market. And this place quickly gives refreshing beverages. I like this place for its location.

Not for the claustrophobic. Located just outside the Farmers Market complex, it’s an option for grabbing some coffee to sip as you walk around. I got a mocha latte. The coffee is pretty good. The staff working here are nice and very quick to keep the line moving. But the place is really small and it gets packed inside. A wall of human flesh prevents you from getting near the supply area(napkins, etc) because there are just too many people stuffed into a small space. At least that’s the case on the weekends — it’s probably better on a weekday. Only a couple stools located inside but several outdoor tables. No bathroom. Parking — yikes! It’s the Farmers Market! Horrible!
