Bob’s is one of my favorite donut spots when in LA. I love their apple fritters! That being said, when I went last week the donuts looked old and there were no apple fitters available.

They offer plain donuts you’d find at an average donut shop as well as others you might not. The cake donuts unfortunately were a letdown: they were way too dry and had no flavor except for the toppings. The yeast donuts on the other hand were delicious, light and fluffy, and was complemented well by the glaze and/or toppings. As a bonus they even serve New Orleans beignets! You can’t go wrong with deep-fried dough covered in powdered sugar! Prices are slightly above but comparable to average donuts shops and well below specialty donut shops. I also love the farmer’s market it’s located in. Recommendations: –strawberry top donut –beignets

Without a doubt the best doughnuts I have ever had. Trust me I have tried to find better, not gonna happen. I like classics when it comes to doughnuts my favorite is the glazed twist. However the apple fritter and everything else is extremely delicious. Their coffee is always fresh and just right. Their iced tea is fresh brewed and never has a funky taste.

It was our last day in LA so we decided to indulge into some Bob’s donuts! We got the New Orleans Beignet & the White Chocolate swirl something. Both donuts were good but I enjoyed the beignet one more. The swirl one was too sweet for me. Unfortunately nothing really blew me away here. I guess we might also be a tad spoiled because we were just in New Orleans a few weeks ago and had proper out-of-this-world beignets over there!

My first time visiting Bobs Donuts today … And wow! The dough and the chocolate is amazing. Can’t wait to go back. Too bad we live 15 miles away or we would be there all of the time.

Bob’s. Yummmmmmmmmmmmm. I hadn’t been to the Farmer’s Market for several years — at least since before Bob’s became LA’s favorite donuts. We went to the Farmer’s Market after seeing the LA episode of I’ll Have What Phil’s Having. We all split up to find what we wanted and I thought, I’ll think I’ll have a donut appetizer. Just one chocolate glazed Devils food was all it took. I wish I had just had donuts — I had a shwarma that was not nearly as delicious as that first donut. I bought another half dozen on my way out the door. I will be back every time I visit the LA area!

Wowowowowoowow! Best beignets this side of the Mississippi! So impressed! My personal favorite detail is the delicious vein of nutmeg and cinnamon on the inside. Seriously these are better than Pan Du Monde. There. I said it!

Pheromones, as we all know, are the chemicals that come off of our bodies that interact with our noses and influence our actions towards other people. Whatever Bob puts in his donuts, well, they are like the pheromones of fried dough. I cannot CONTROL myself when I’m in the farmer’s market, whistleblower, it’s like I’m just being compelled by Bob to eat his donuts. The coffee is not good but that’s perfect. Dipping good donuts in bad coffee is one of the simple pleasures in life. Now that I am not allowed to come into work at my architecture firm(amicable split up! Safety differences!) sometimes I spend all day here, falling under the trance of Bob. We love Bob. Danny Bringing Truth!

I hadn’t planned to get donuts. After having lunch, I thought my friend was just taking me around to see all the stuff in the Farmer’s Market. But then he got in line at Bob’s. And then my eyes told my brain that these donuts looked amazing. And my brain told my body to shove everybody out of the way and steal all the donuts. But then another part of my brain said, hey, it’d be pretty cool to not get arrested so chill out and get in line. The donuts were really good. I had a cake donut with orange icing. It was awesome. I also had a mini-donut too because I’m a glutton and hate my pants. Donuts are awesome and Bob’s does them very well.

I tried their fresh strawberry donut and I’m not sure if it was just me, but it was a little bit too sweet for my liking(which is weird because I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth). When I ordered it, I was expecting a similar donut like the strawberry donut from Donut Man, but this strawberry donut was more like an open faced jelly donut with a few fresh strawberries in it. I enjoyed the real strawberries, but wish there was less of the jelly stuff since it was so overpowering that it made them taste fake. But besides the jelly, the donut itself was really really good! It was definitely fresh and super soft! Overall, pretty decent but I don’t think I would ever go out of my way to try it again

I’ve heard a lot about Bob’s so I knew i definitely wanted to stop by during my visit to the Farmers Market. I kept it simple with a plain cake doughnut and a sugar raised(yeasted) doughnut, partly out of preference and partly because there weren’t so many options left at around 5pm. Both doughnuts were super satisfying, especially for the price. The amount of nutmeg/spice in the cake doughnut was spot on. The best part was the crunchy, extra fried bits on the inside of the ring! The raised doughnut was impossibly fluffy. My only complaint is that they didn’t seem to have a great system for keeping the line under control. There appeared to be two lines for the two registers, but when I got to the front… nope! Only one line. Also, one cashier had to keep circling around the cramped booth to get change. You would think since they’re so popular they would have a more efficient system in place.

Bob’s donuts absolutely rocks. I used to always get a maple bar as a little girl and Bob’s makes the best maple bars I have ever had. I work at The Grove and our corporate office has a donut club — I recently bought a huge box of donuts for our club and it was $ 16! Such a great price for quality, fresh donuts. The staff is always so kind and helpful. This place is truly an LA institution and a fresh donut from them can alter the course of your workday!

I’m kind of obsessed with their janky cat(pink not chocolate) and dinosaur donuts. The donuts are soft but a little firm with a thick icing on them. The decorating looks like toddlers did them but the donuts taste really good! I’ve tried their other donuts and wasn’t a fan. The whole wheat ones especially are not that great. But it doesn’t matter because I don’t deviate from my usual. Cash only. Try the dino!

The glazed donuts are the BEST that I have ever eaten. They are melt in your mouth deliciousness. I craved this donut the entire time I was pregnant, but not enough to trek from South Bay to indulge. I just fulfilled my donut fantasies by indulging today. It was NOT a disappointed despite a 3.5 year wait. DELICIOUS!!! I remember the ice tea was also one of my favorites, but I did not order one today. Next time, I might venture into some of their other donut flavors, but I did not want to mess with perfection today. I see fellow Unilocalers are raving about the apple fritter. I will try this next time.

This review is just for their infamous Apple Fritter — was not impressed. It tasted burnt and greasy. It was big for $ 1.75, but if you turn it side ways, it’s thin as hell. It felt like I was eating all sugar — hardly any plump apples pieces in there. Two stars — nice and efficient service, and that all around it, it had crispy edges, even though some crispy parts tasted burnt. Had to get a Green Herbal Lemonade from Coffee Corner to get the burnt and greasy taste out of my mouth :( Hopefully, I can upgrade the stars later on when I try their donuts.

First thing we tried when we entered the LA farmers market. Raised glaze donut was fresh and very soft and flavorful. The killer was the devils food donut. It was fresh and warm and had great flavor. It wasnt dry and had nice crunch on the outside while being soft in the middle. We got one of those, went around the market, ate lunch, then got another devils food donut for dessert.

Bob’s has been my go-to Los Angeles donut shop for years. I come to Bob’s every year on my birthday to get a «birthday donut» and my husband and I even had Bob’s donuts at our wedding in lieu of wedding cake. I went in today for this year’s birthday donut and was yet again blown away with how delicious Bob’s donuts are. Im not sure why there are so many mediocre reviews as of late; but take it from a donut snob(which, I am) that this place is the real deal. Are they fancy, unique, gourmet donuts? No, if you want that, go to Sidecar Donuts in Santa Monica. These are classic, simple, delicious donuts done incredibly well and at a great price. My favorites are the regular glazed & the raspberry filled. The chocolate raised is another great option. Don’t let the recent reviews deter you; go to Bob’s and treat yourself to a fantastic classic donut. **FYI: BRINGCASH** as they are cash only.

When i went to the counter and spoke to the young lady, i specifically asked for the donut that is most popular & best tasting donut they sell. She recommended the glazed. I was so darn excited about buying a donut that was voted«The Best» in LA. That i called a couple neighbors over to try it & give their honest opinion. I cut up 5 bite sizes and we indulged ourselves. We all agreed that the glaze is good but the donut itself was in «No Way» the best we’ve ever had. We’re all donut lover’s too. So I think our panel of judges is pretty experienced in this category. It was good but definitely not a donut that I would crave or go out of my way for. But congratulations Bob, on being voted #1!!!

I had the Bobs Special Donut. Guess it was the monthly special. It was actually quite dry and I was not impressed with it at all. I gave it 3 stars because I’ve already had donuts here before. The jelly filled glazed donuts. These were very good. So I would suggest not going for the Special Donut. At least for the month of June. I shared a photo of it here as well. Take a look. It’s pretty and colourful but not all that tasty.
