This is my third time here and all three times I left pleased– First time, I got a jean jacket, black tee and a beige button down for 14 bucks. The jacket was 13 and tops 50 cents each. I saw a Zara jean jacket which I would’ve picked up if it was a lighter colour– also $ 13(The jacket wasn’t on sale but the doll and skull was half off). Second time I left with a Lucky Brand grey skinny jean that was 3.50, a traditional handmade paper doll and a ceramic skull, both for 50 cents. Yesterday, I left with a Ralph Lauren classic skinny jean for 3.50– I’m psyched to say the least. I’m honestly spolied. I will never shop for full priced again, not even Marshalls or TJMaxx which is already reduced. I have no reason to not give it five stars. Dude at the front was patient and had a good vibe. The last two times, the woman with the dark hair was also real nice, despite the long line. I’m not sure if the sale days depend on the days of the week, but Monday was half off green tags and Wednesday was half off everything instead of the new merchandise. The jeans are priced no more than $ 8 and the shirts are a few bucks. Even without the sales, this place is inexpensive. It’ll definitely be worth a stop if you’re considering

I shop here religiously, in fact I’d guess that 50% of the items in my closet came from this store. You can catch me here most Saturdays and many Wednesdays when everything(save for the newest color tag items) is half off(bonus!). I’ve found some amazing vintage and designer pieces here. In one trip alone I scored a pair of real python Tod’s loafers for $ 20 and a pair of Stuart Weitzman knee-high boots. Let me explain how amazing this is: the loafers had the original price sticker @ $ 490 and the boots retailed for $ 695. Some trips are better than others, but I never leave empty handed. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is that during prime shopping times i.e. Weds. the staff refuses to open up the second cash register. I was pretty livid a few weeks ago after waiting in the checkout line for, no joke, 45 minutes. Why didn’t I just leave? After 10 minutes in line I thought it couldn’t possibly take much longer, and then after 20 I was just to invested to turn back. Also, to the staff: PLEASE, PLEASESTOPSTAPLINGTHEPRICETAGSDIRECTLYINTOTHEFABRICS. I’ve been so disappointed to find on many occasions that a cute blouse or dress is left with a permanent hole after removing the staples.

I’d have to admit, I love to thrift! I don’t care what anyone says, but you can definitely find some awesome stuff at thrift stores. This salvation army, is a hit or miss, but on a scale of landing some really great finds. I’d say I always end up walking out with something. The basics of thrifting: 1. PATIENCE(It’s very important, if you want to find awesome stuff it requires for you to take time.) 2. Sometimes it’s great to have a friend tag along(Especially, when it comes to decision making, I am a Gemini I cannot decide in most things.) 3. Ask if there are any promotions going on(Last time I went there was Family day, 50% off all clothing) 4. Hand Sanitizer(After going through amounts of clothing, and even books you need to clear off the germs!) 5. It’s rewarding to find great stuff, it’s almost like discovering a treasure.

I used to live few blocks away, and I moved away, but still go back at leaset once a year to donate clothes. This place used to be exactly on the corner of Steinway and 31st Ave, but a café opened on the corner few years ago, so now the salvation army is L shaped store. When this café opened, the salvation army did a little bit renovation and reorganization. After that, this store became nicer. When I donate for the first time, I didn’t think this is the place to shop, but after it became nicer, I shop here, too. They organize clothes by color, so it looks nice although they are used clothes. There is no fitting room, but I try skirts over my pants and shopped some of them. Most of the time, it works. I also bought DVDs and a beach bag here. The store is pretty spacious, so it is fun to see what they have.

Do people not know? Awful. And your stuff isn’t going to the local needy, but to oversees factories. Anti-gay, not part of the community, disgusting.
